DGR RUN OF THE DAY # 2
DISTANCE: 8.1 kmDURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes
There was a cold wind blowing today so we headed to Karl Baker to get some running in between the trees. Rossi caught on that I had treats in my pocket today and spent the first 5 minutes running beside me and looking up at me with a goofy expression as if to say "Am I being good enough for a treat!" Luckily, he gave up and focused on where the best places to pee were; occasionally dragging me off the path and into the grass. When we got to the park, the running was easy. Rossi galloped this way and that and hurtled by me anytime he got 'left behind'. We were having a lovely run in the park when Rossi caught wind of something. He stopped, nose in the air and was looking south, below the park. He walked a few metres, stopped and repeated this. I've never seen him do this before so something just out of the park sparked his interest. I started to get a little worried he could smell a Coyote I couldn't see (it wasn't), but I eventually bribed him with a few treats and when I changed direction and headed up hill, he was reenergized and bounded by me; forgetting all about what had just consumed his attention 🤷♀️😂 From the park, we headed down to the river. The wind was cold on the cheeks, but ole Rossi doesn't seem to feel the cold so he ran happily with his ears blowing in the wind! We observed a Search and Rescue Team doing a training exercise and Rossi stopped to ask if they need any tips 😉 After that, it was back to the house and burying his face straight in his food, well, he did earn it. The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poo.
