It’s always good news finding out Kamber needs a run and that I’m the lucky guy to do it! Today couldn’t have been better for a trip to the river. By the time we made it through the off-leash park playing fetch the entire time, she was in desperate need of a dip in some cold water! Sandy Beach was surprisingly busy for middle of the day on a Monday but Kamber and I managed to find our own spot away from other dogs to use the water. A Black Lab puppy a little ways down desperately wanted to come over and play with Kamber but it’s owner could sense Kamber wasn’t interested. Her sole focus is always on her orange ball! After making our way back up the hill back to the off-leash, I continued to throw the ball for her. I wound up and threw a long ball for her at one point; she ran full tilt for it (like usual) but suddenly stopped and hobble the last ten feet to the ball. I gave her a break from fetch until she seemed ready again. I tried throwing it and saw her limp as she started to move towards it and then stopped. I checked her foot but didn’t notice anything out of place, swollen or cut. She wasn’t limping too much and didn’t seem to be in pain but just to be safe, we headed home and kept to a walking pace. Hopefully, she just overworked herself or bumped her paw on a sharp rock or something and it heals up quick! Great to see you again Kamber! The scoop: 2 pees, 1 poo.
