![]() DISTANCE: 10.08 km DURATION: 55:08 (written by Ruth) Today, Nell was lucky enough to have two DGR runners attempt to tire her out. New DGRunner Rachel joined me and Nell for a 10k along the river pathways. Nell is famous for her fast pace and low to the ground herding style of running. There was new turf we charted on this run including running up a special hill called the Rise. There was a toddler on his bike practicing without training wheels and Nell was practicing her speed as we flew down the hill. Rachel and I discussed how to gain speed by letting arms flail and legs go. Wheee! Our next stop was the Memorial Stairs climb. We opted for the steep pathway instead of the stairs which were full of lunchtime athletes. It was a good thing there was a drinking fountain that had 2 tiers: one for dogs and one for humans because the three of us were thirsty. I knew we accomplished our mission of tiring Ms. Nell when she came to a dead stop and rolled on the ground for a belly rub near her home. The scoop: 1 pee and 1 poo. Thanks to Rachel and Nell for a great workout heading into the weekend! (written by Rachel) Nell loves to run! She was a wonderful running companion on my first run with DGR. We were also joined by Ruth who was showing me the ropes... Er, leash! The route we took was one of my normal running plans, but it was magnificent doing it with a furry companion. We went through St. Patrick's Island where Nell cooled off in the water. We even climbed the stairs to get a beautiful view of the city! Nell is a fantastic runner, she motivated me to continue up the second hill we did! Nell is such a sweet girl and she looks so happy when she is running !! After we stopped at the doggy water fountain we slowed down a little as it was HOT! Near the end, Nell let us know she needed a break by pausing in the shade which was great timing as we were one block away from her home. Nell and I had a great connection and an awesome run; great way to start my time as a runner with DGR. Business: 1 pee and 1 poop Runners: Ruth and Rachel
