Good Morning Tally and Bobo! Do you think we can beat the rain? There were some threatening dark clouds in the sky so we were on a mission to run before it started pouring. After an exuberant greeting, we took off to explore the Bearspaw Golf Course. It felt like we were really removed from the city and the pups loved all the trails that led to the different putting areas. I must say that although I don't golf, I love golf courses with their freshly trimmed green grass and ponds. Speaking of ponds, Talus and Bowen were really keen to go for a swim but I already was unsure if we were allowed in the area so wanted to be respectful. We did find some off-road pathways that offered us lots of hill work. Bowen was still pretty playful while running and enjoyed some time chewing the leash and chewing Big Sister Talus. As for the rain, I think we only felt a few small raindrops. The scoop: no poos but 4-5 pees each. I had a nice visit with their mom when we got home and the doggies seemed happy. See you next week. Perhaps, we will go golfing (I mean running) again!

The three of us have had quite the adventures while Ruth’s been away. I’ve enjoyed every one, even today when Talus and Bowen decided they were taking a vacation from RUNNING!😂 These two had absolutely no desire whatsoever to partake in the task at hand so I just went with it😁 There was some debauchery at the pooch park, Talus bringing me a log to throw, then Bowen trying his best to steal it. We headed down the path but too many distractions. We even got a few chuckles from some passerbys. Leashes! I know there was only two but it felt like twenty!🙈 It took us a while but we all survived and made it back safe. I will miss you crazy kids, especially Talus’ enthusiasm when you come to the door and Bowen’s spontaneous hugs whenever he feels the urge. Thanks for the excellent entertainment! 2 poos each and several pees for both Talus and Bowen today. Cheers!

Woo Woo! Lucky me, I get to party with Talus and Bowen today!😁 We hopped in my ride and took this party on the road over to Tuscany. We stayed on the upper part of the coulee because I didn’t want to risk running into the moose with a couple of free rangers. The kids didn’t seem at all affected by my decision. They were a little busy whoopin’ it up.😁 We headed into the coulee just to find a refreshing slurp and then back up the hill I crawled. I wish I had as much energy as these two. I was getting tired just watching them run around.😅 Anyways, I could tell they burned a little bit of that pent up energy when I realized they were behind me and we all meandered back to the truck. Thanks for the entertaining adventure Talus and Bowen! See you kids tomorrow!😊 1 poo for Talus, none for Bowen and several pees for both. Cheers!

Road trip! Woo Woo! The kids and I hit Bowness Park today, what else is there to do on such a warm day? No, I’m not complaining and neither were Talus and Bowen as soon as they saw the river!😁 Talus was so excited she started chewing on my chin... not sure if this is her thing but I laughed so hard, well we will just leave it at that.😂 I can honestly say that we partied our way through the park. The only running I got in was in between river stops and there were many. These kids were having so much fun that I didn’t want to interrupt . At first, Bobo was hesitant of running in after the sticks I was tossing for Tally but after a while we had a stick thief in our midst.😆 Hmmm, something seems familiar about this.😜 Anyways, to make a long story short, we did the loop, hit the pooch park, and went back to where we started. Thanks for hanging with me this afternoon Talus and Bowen! I had a blast! 1 poo each and many pees for both kids today. Cheers!

These two kids are hilarious! One might think the three of us had never run together before and they’d be right!😆 Judging from our lack of leash skills and coordination. Talus, Bowen and I would be running along nicely almost looking like we knew what we were doing and then one of us (one of them) would catch a delicious scent. So we’d stop, enjoy, get tangled up then figure it out and carry on. Repeat! 😂 All good my friends you certainly made my day!😊 I could tell the thrill of running was slowly wearing off when Talus kept trying to take all the shortcuts home and Bowen was starting to chew on Talus. 😁 So I decided they had enough and called it a day. Thanks for the laughs Talus and Bowen! You really did make my day! 1 poo for Talus, none for Bowen and several pees for both. Cheers!

It was only 9:30 a.m. and I had my 2nd DGR. run of the day. I guess the early bird catches the worm. The cooler temperatures sure were nice for Talus and Bowen. I thought they would start out fast but they were pretty much into smelling everything and peeing on everything in sight. On the start of our run, a lady at the bus stop jinxed us when she said, "What well-behaved doggies, you have." Don't get me wrong, these two are gems but today, Bowen was especially full of beans. He could not keep his paws off big sister Talus so the leashes got tangled and there was lots of pulling and jumping. It was so nice when we got to a quiet spot in Confluence Park and did some hopping through tall grass to get to the water. The clouds in the water made for gorgeous photos. Talus and Bowen only did a quick dip but had a blast running through the grass and being free. Talus also found a dead duck that she wanted to roll on top of so I had to lure her away with a treat. These two sure are great off-leash doggies! The stretch back home on-leash went much better, I was hoping the run got some of the puppy crazies out of Bobo but he was back to wrestling with Talus in the house. Oh, to be young! The scoop: a kazillion pees and 1 poo each.

Today I got to see a different side to both Talus and Bowen. On our morning run, I got the green light from their mom to let them off-leash in Confluence Park so they could go swimming. Talus is definitely the swimmer and Bobo is more of the wader. The pups were so happy to cool off after going pretty hard on the first half of our run. Bowen was leaping through the fields of grass and looked so carefree and happy! Tally found a massive stick in the water and with help from Bobo was able to take it out of the water and play with it. The dogs' recall was great and once cooled, we began our run home. Bowen was totally re-energized and he started to tackle Talus and they were wrestling quite hard with me attached to them. If anyone saw us, I am sure they would have had a good laugh! Once running again, we met a dog named Yuki who wanted to join us on our run. When his owner told him they had to go home, he howled his disapproval. Yup, he has some Bloodhound in him. Well, I don't think our run could have been any more fun! The scoop: Bowen had 2 poop and 4 pees. Talus had 1 poo and 4 pees.

Summer is here so an early start was a good game-plan for Talus and Bowen to beat the heat. I was told that Talus had some limping happening yesterday but was also told that this could miraculously disappear. Dogs are pretty resilient creatures and Talus sure was keen to run. Bobo was also setting a killer pace for the first 2K but then we settled in to a gentler pace with stops to roll in the wet grass. There was no limping happening today so I guess miracles happen. We ran from Rocky Ridge and explored some trails to seek shade. I do think the pups were saving their energy a bit to show me their soccer skills in the backyard. I love how this dented, old ball was their prized possession! The scoop: 1 poop for Bowen and too many pees to count between the two pooches.

I can see you and you can see me 👀 but there seems to be a locked door between us!? This was the first time meeting Talus and Bowen and once the missing key situation was solved and we got to meet face-to-face it was like we were old friends. We had a couple of kms of what I like to call ’Tango Dancing’. Which is a combination of Tangling Leashes and Unique Dance moves? Talus is such a sweet soul, she would look up at me and just smile. Then when we would stop to untangle Bowen thought I needed a hug! Very gently he would rise up and give me a hug. Why thank you. Everyone can use a hug. 😊 Without even really knowing when it happened we all got into the rhythm and voila, we gracefully sped through the pathways. I think we looked like a really well-oiled, and rather graceful machine. Then Bowen got it into his mind he wanted to free Talus of the leash and started to chew away on it. I think for this run we should all stay attached, Haha. The Doggy Business Report: Talus - 1 poop & 4 pees. Bowen - 2 poops and 3 pees.

Good morning Tally and Bowen! Today is a bonus run for us, as it looks like your schedule has changed a bit and we won’t be running on Mondays for now. But, I couldn’t say no to a Monday morning hang with these two, so we’re going out today anyways! Bowen got fixed last week (though you would never have known it from his energy level), so we took it pretty easy today with a shorter distance and lots of walk breaks. We made our way up through the neighbourhood to loop back on Laycock Park for some off-leash time and lots of dips in the creek. Bowen isn’t one for the water as much, but even he saw the benefit of a nice cool-down. Tally, on the other hand, was right in there and barely got out as we walked along the bank! Back at home, it looked like both were settling in for a nice afternoon nap; I may do just the same! Enjoy the rest of your Monday! A million pees for both, one poop for Bowen and two poops for Tally.

Today was a little different for Tally, Bowen and me, in that it was just Bowen and me on our run. Tally got a rest day, even though she definitely didn’t want it! It was pretty hard leaving her behind; she looked a little confused when I only brought out one leash, then she whined when Bowen was the only one getting leashed to go, and then she tried to make a break for the door, regardless of leash! Don’t worry Tal, you’ll get your own day later this week! As for Bowen and me, we ended up going at a much more casual pace than when the three of us run. Fine by me, buddy, my legs are feeling a little heavy today. He was still easily distracted by all the smells, but overall, a pretty easy-going run with Mr. Bowen. When we got back, we played a little fetch in the backyard so Tally didn’t feel quite so left out. Too many pees to count for Bowen, and three poops (two normal, the last one VERY runny).

Good Monday to you Tally and Bowen! Did you have a nice weekend? I know your Saturday must have been pretty good because I saw you both running at DGR’s Doggy Dash - you both looked in fine racing form! But, I wonder if that was why Tally wasn’t in a running mood on our outing today. I think, if she could have told me her opinion, it would have been along the lines of “didn’t you get the memo? Today is a rest day!” Okay Tally, we’ll take it easy, do lots of sniffing and stop for splashes and slurps in the creek, but we do have to run at least a little bit. Tally seemed okay with that compromise; Bowen was game to go along with it too. Though, Bowen also wanted to add chasing Canadian Geese to the list! Not today, my friend, you don’t want to mess with those, but he sure did give some longing looks as we passed 😂 A bazillion pees for both a one poop each. See you tomorrow Tally and Bowen!

Another beautiful day for a run Talus and Bowen! Shorts and a tank top were the running gear for today, it felt so nice to have that sun beating down. I think, though, that Talus had a differing opinion; again, part way through our run, she made a beeline straight for the first snow patch we came across! I get it Talus, it is definitely a warm one, so take as many rolls as you need. We had another really good run, Talus and Bowen were super focused again. I think we may have even done a PB (personal best) for our 8k distance! Thanks for the hang again today puppers 🐶. It was also really nice to meet Talus and Bowen’s mom today, who just happens to be a new DGR runner. Lots of pees for both and one poop each.

Happy Monday Talus and Bowen! What a good start to our week with a run on a bluebird day. I think there must have been something in Talus and Bowen’s water today, because they were uber focused on running; maybe we just had less distractions on our route, but I like to think the nicer weather is doing everyone some good, and they were just enjoying a run in the sun! Though, Talus did find the only snow patch around for blocks to take a nice roll in. Black dogs and sun, right?! They were masters of the leash today as well, and I think they’re catching on pretty well to “under” when I need to untangle them, and one has to go underneath the other’s leash. Thanks for the awesome company you two. See you tomorrow! A million pees for both, no poop for either of them today.

Good morning Talus, good morning Bowen, you are both such excellent greeters! Well, the sun is back to shining - Calgary weather, am I right? 🙄 The paths look pretty clear, so let’s get this party started! But, maybe not too quickly, I was still not at 100%, but we were definitely moving faster than yesterday. Today was all about the leash; we attempted a new leash technique, keeping Talus on the waist lead and Bowen on a hand lead, to avoid some of the tangles. We solved one problem, but introduced a couple others. For one, Bowen has a puppy attention span (it might be worse than a goldfish 😂), so giving a little bit more distance on the lead meant he was all over the place taking in all the smells. Second, Bowen is pretty quick and I don’t think my arm appreciated the workout! A return back to waist lead for Bowen is probably in order for our next run. We ended our time with a little off-leash, and the end result was two tongue-out-sideways happy, tired dogs. They definitely love being off-leash and took full advantage to rip around at top speed! A million pees for both and one poop each (in synchronization, right by a garbage can), so I didn’t have to carry two full poop bags for three kilometres. Thanks guys!
