My son and fellow DGR runner and pet sitter (Ryan) & I had a blast doing some tag team pet sitting at Golden Central. This pack is comprised of Golden Retriever siblings Sasha and Molson and new pup Ryder. They are probably some of the sweetest doggies I know. Sasha has her special spot by the fireplace and she also loves head scratches. She may seem meek but from time to time, she will let Ryder know she is the boss. Molson steals my hearts as we have had years of walking/running together from time to time. He is a huge fan of belly rubs and his toys. He also is a pretty patient older brother to Ryder. They had so many wrestling moments until Ryder grabs his tail and Molson comes to hide behind me. The youngest pack member Ryder is one beautiful pup and pretty chill except when he wants to chew on Molson or try to see if he can eat Molson and Sasha's food. I had sporadic visits with this crew while Ryan spent the bulk of the time with them. I loved my walks and chill Netflix or Crave watching with the pooches. Thanks for the Golden fix!

Double the fun today with two Goldens! It was a hot one today and Molson, Sasha, and I stayed in the shade and the cool grass as much as possible. There was a welcome water stop on the way and the pups ran into their old friend Maddie, whose mom had treats and toys to taste and play with. Every 10 minutes or so, it was time for a roll in the grass and a plea for a belly rub (well, ok, that was always a Molson request!). The two cousins were a joy to walk. They are so sweet, well behaved and did I mention very lovely. A gorgeous day to walk two gorgeous Goldens! The Scoop: 1 poop each, 2 pees for Sasha, and many, many for Molson. Thanks!

It was really nice to take Sasha and Molson out together. I also had prospective DGR Runner Tara with me so it was officially a party. We went through the back woods of Lakeview enjoying our casual pace. Once we popped out on the green space, we ran into DGR Runner Nancy out with Marley. It is always fun to explain the family tree of these 3 related Golden Retrievers. As the saying goes, the more the merrier. A little bird also told me to expect another baby Golden Retriever in the near future. Well, this breed is definitely AWESOME! The Scoop: pees and poos by all. Thanks again to Tara for joining in the Golden fun!

Sasha and Rusty were a little tired this afternoon, so our walk was a little bit more of a meander than anything else, but I was more than ok with this as that meant more quality time with these Goldens. Today was all about ear scratches, sniffing around, greeting other dogs and truly taking the time to enjoy ourselves. Some highlights from today include a visit with another Golden Retriever, whom Sasha and Rusty were more than happy to greet, and a visit with an excitable seven-month old Black Lab puppy, who was greeted with a little less enthusiasm. Our walk wasn’t long, but what we lacked in distance, we made up for wth quality time spent. The Scoop: 1 pee for Sasha and lots of pees for Rusty.

Oh, hello Sasha and Rusty! Today was my first official DGR outing with these two Goldens so that I could get to know them better before I spend next week hanging out with them. So the three of us set off; going slowly so we could spend lots of time acquainting ourselves with each other. I learned that Sasha is both feisty and sweet at the same time, as she definitely has a mind of her own but is also a sucker for belly rubs and ear scratches. Rusty seems to be just a dependable and happy-go-lucky guy, and he just stuck by my side the entire walk; occasionally stopping to sniff out a tree and to pee. My outing with Sasha and Rusty was a lovely walk and I am excited to spend next week with them! The scoop: 1 poo and lots of pees for Rusty and 3 pees for Sasha.

I was so happy that I got to repeat the Golden party. With four such beautiful dogs, I think we really must be quite the sight! I even tried to capture it with a selfie. Amazingly I have all six faces in there, or at least most of Sasha's and my face. I also took a close-up of Roxy's face as she must have gotten into something green... Maybe it will bring her good luck?? We also got a great photo of litter-mates Sasha and Molson. Our happy pack walked through the green belt off-leash area, and surprisingly all four dogs were fine with staying on leash. We veered off and looped back via the Aspen Trail. And other than the odd moment where it felt like we were playing Twister, or maybe because of that, we all had a lot of fun at our Golden Party of Six! Doggy business: Rusty: one pee Sasha: one pee and two poops Molson: 2 pees and Roxy: 2 pees.

What do you call a beautiful autumn stroll with 4 Golden Retrievers? The answer is a Golden Event. Today, Bob and I got to take out Molson and Roxy and their owner's parent's Goldens named Sasha and Rusty. As we traveled through the Aspen Trail, the dogs were very pleased with all the scents and Bob and I were thrilled with the sound of crunching leaves. With 4 gorgeous dogs at our side, we were quite the spectacle and we received many compliments like "Beautiful!." "What a crew!" "Impressive!" One gentleman commented that we had a lot of dog food to buy. We also ran into a family with a 4 month old Border Collie/Lab cross who inquired about our Golden companions. Coincidentally, their puppy was named Roxy so we got a photo of her with our Roxy. Today, Bob and I also had a great time catching up. Our DGR runners are amazing people! Good luck on your upcoming half marathon in North Carolina (#20)! I think Bob would agree, it was a real treat spending time with this foursome. The scoop: 1 poop and 1 pee (Rusty), 2 pees (Molson), 1 pee (Roxy) and 1 pee (Sasha). It was a bit challenging counting with so many Goldens.
