Puppy sitting Three Border Collies was more fun than I imagined! We were left great instructions by their Mom which helped immensely, but the well behaved pups were the real heroes in this story! Sadie, Loki, and Kismet are all very well behaved and familiar with the routine, so it was clock-work when it came to feeding, walks, and bed-time. Add in some mid-afternoon play-time, cuddles and naps, and we have a successful overnight pet sit!

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 23 minutes I have been waiting patiently for this day to arrive! I was soooo excited when I heard that I was going to see my old friends again. Kismet, Sadie and Loki greeted me like we had just seen each other last week! It was nice I thought they had forgotten me. Anyways, it was just Sadie and Kismet today. We toured around the hood’ making it up as we went along; getting reacquainted with each other and the leashes Yes, we had some issues but that didn’t stop us from having a fantastic time! I missed you little poopers more than you know and it was really good to see you again. Thanks for making this the best Monday ever! 1 poo and 4 pees for Kismet; 3 pees for Sadie. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 5.58 km DURATION: 1:09:51 It was a bittersweet Monday afternoon.... this is my last run with the kids until the fall. 😞 And to top it off Sadie was with Gramma so I didn't get to say goodbye. 👎🏼 But Loki, Kismet and I got to go on an adventure this afternoon and it was interesting to say the least. 😁 The first half of our walkabout was all about free ranging, ball throwing and eating gross stuff. 😳 My friend Kismet even attempted to run through a fence, Loki just rolled his eyes. 😂 For the next half of our journey, we tried to work on our leash skills... That was just entertaining (too many distractions). We got a few laughs from passersby. That's okay, we were chuckling to ourselves (I was anyway.) Eventually we made it back and just in time for a quick stop at the truck (yes for more treats!) I'm going to miss you kids. Have a great summer and hopefully we will run into each other again. 4 pees for Loki (no poo); 1 poo and approx. 5 pees for Kismet. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.01 km DURATION: 57:16 Woo woo it's Monday and that means I get to party with my peeps Sadie and Loki!😃 Yes folks we were up to our old Monday afternoon shenanigans. When the three of us get together we need to squeeze in as much fun as possible into our visits😬. First the ball came out and my friend Sadie decided it was time to play keep away from Loki and me. Then the kids thought it would be a good idea for me to toss the ball while running up a mountain (slight exaggeration). That took a little coordination 😳! It's not as easy as I may have made it look!😂 Finally we've reached the top! Sorry Sadie and Loki free range fun is over. Back down the trails we went, a quick stop at the treat truck and home. Thanks for yet another fantastic adventure S&L! 1 poo each and approx. 10 pees between them. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.07 km DURATION: 1:04:49 Sadie! Loki! I hope you kids had a fantastic holiday but to be honest I'm glad your back!😊 The kids and I got a little carried away for about the first 30 minutes of our outing today. Not a lot of running going on, well not for me anyway. The ball came out and the entertainment began😬! We tried to keep it moving but there's snow to roll in, pee on and such. Okay, we better make a move or we'll never get back! We hit the streets did some hill work and some unnecessary hill work😳 I'll thank Sadie for that! I thought she knew where she was going. Nope! So we turned around and headed home to be greeted by Kismet! Wow he's grown and so excited about EVERYTHING! 😂 Thanks for partying with me this afternoon Sadie and Loki! 2 poos for Sadie, none for Loki and they both peed at least 3 times (I lost count as we were too busy having fun). Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.12 km DURATION: 1:08:26 Happy Monday Sadie and Loki! Today I decided that the three of us were going to have a Monday Fun Day😁 Woo woo! I brought a ball with me, let the excitement commence. We headed out and I released these kids from their chains and the party began. Sadie was kind enough to let Loki have the ball for a while and then I think she got a little impatient😳😂. They are so funny running around, talking to each other constantly, then a quick stop drop and roll. Where's my treat? So cute! Okay, let's get some running in (for me). We hit the streets for a bit and back for some more playtime. I couldn't help myself they were having such a good time. Back to some serious running and home we went. Thanks for the fun afternoon Sadie and Loki! They are such a joy to run😊! 1 poo for both Sadie and Loki and approximately 5 pees each. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.56 km DURATION: 1:05:07 Hello Sadie and Loki! I just love these two cute little pixies😊! We started out as always a touch confused; after all it is Monday and it does take a minute or two to get in sync. We had an audience for a while. I could here them chuckling but it didn't bother us one bit because frankly we were laughing at ourselves😁. Okay, we're off to the races (not really). Sadie and Loki are so well behaved I figured they'd appreciate some free ranging. With the wind in their fur bouncing in and out of the snow, grinning from ear to ear.... ok that was Sadie. Loki was all about his stomach today and what he could snack on (thankfully no wildlife was involved😜) just some pizza crust. After that we ran some hills only because they live on one. We toured the streets and meandered back to the house. Thanks for a fabulous afternoon my friends! Until next time. 2 poos for Sadie and 1 for Loki. At least 5 pees each (my bad I lost count). Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.71 km DURATION: 1:04:42 Good afternoon kids! Loki greeted me with kisses, Kismet ran up and down the stairs saying hello! Sadie just kept barking " let's get this show on the road!" At least that's what I assume she was saying 😁. Alright let's go! It took us a minute or two to get in sync with each other again and then Loki and I realized that Sadie was the one in control😂. Someone has to be; it might as well be her! Actually her sniffer set our pace and our route today. We got more hills in today than I intended on our tour of the hood as well as some puddle jumping. At first, all of us were trying to keep our feet reasonably dry and then we just gave up. There was just no point. It was a beautiful day today and a fantastic adventure with these two cuties. Sadie and Loki, thanks for hanging with me this afternoon. 2 poos for Sadie, none for Loki and they both peed lots. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 3.58 km DURATION: 53:57 Good morning Loki, Sadie and Kismet! Today, I was greeted by excited barks and whines courtesy of Kismet, because she wasn't coming out with us 😕. Loki and Sadie were sure excited to get out and run through some fresh snow... A LOT of snow! Sadie and Loki were having a blast chasing each other around, while I think I could have used some cross county skis. We didn't get very far, and we didn't go very fast, but each one of us was pooped by the end from slogging through powder. We headed back when the paws started lifting; lots of stops to clear snowballs out of paws today as well. Three to four pees and no poops for both dogs today. Runner: Janine ![]() DISTANCE: 7.12 km DURATION: 1:04:56 Hello Loki, it's so nice to see you! Thank you for the exuberant greeting, it always brightens a Monday morning to see that much excitement 😄. Unfortunately, no Sadie today, as she was visiting with Grandma, but, we had a a special little guest for a short walk to the ravine and back; Kismet! She's too little to do a full run, but she joined Loki and me for the first few minutes before Loki and I headed off; she's going to be a great DGR dog when she's grown. Loki and I had a fun run. He was sniffing all the bunny trails we came across and I was trying not to slip on the icy bits. I think we both missed Sadie's company, but it was nice to have a little one-on-one time with Loki. Two poops and many pees for Loki and one poop for Kismet. . Runner: Janine ![]() DISTANCE: 7.39 km DURATION:1:00:20 Hello Sadie and Loki! I'm so happy to see you again. I was greeted with kisses today from all three of the cute little fur balls (Kismet included)! It was nice that they remembered me😊. Sadie was the leader of this trio today and it seemed like our coordination was getting better. Loki only tried to take me out a half a dozen times today. We were doing great! That is until some poles got in our way😆. Sadie also tried to cut the run short twice on Loki and I, but it didn't work. We weren't ready to go back yet and she seemed perfectly fine with our decision. We had a fairly quiet run today except my friend Sadie got a little riled up over a snow sweeping machine. Apparently, she didn't like the way it looked! Loki couldn't have cared less. Thanks for the fantastic run today Sadie and Loki. And for taking my Monday blahs away. 3 poos each and I lost track of their pees but there were a few. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.72 km DURATION: 58:48 Nice to meet you Sadie and Loki! My apologies for being late but it took me a while to find you😳 And OMG the new pup is adorable! Anyways, now that I'm here we should go! The three of us headed out like we've been running together for years NOT! 😂 It was more of a comedy hour this afternoon. Sadie wanted to go one way and Loki wanted to go the other way! It was kind of funny; these two had me in stitches. It was a good core workout! Then we got a little lost so we retraced our steps. Finally we made it back safe and before dark. Thank goodness! These two cuties were so much fun to run. Thanks for the entertainment Sadie and Loki! Cheers! 2 poos and 3 pees for Sadie and 1 poo and 5 pees for Loki. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.25 km DURATION: 55:12 Running in a winter wonderland! These two beautiful Border Collies were loving the snow! The only downside was some tough slippery terrain and of course those pesky ice balls in Loki's paws! Even with a few stops, the three of us were able to get out for a decent run, enjoying that wintery sun and taking some time to just play outside! Details: Loki pooed twice, Sadie 0. Both had a chance to pee! Runner: Rachel ![]() DISTANCE: 7.22 KM DURATION: 1:01:59 I have a soft spot for Border Collies, so running the beautiful Sadie and Loki was a treat! It was a chilly day and Loki, unlike Sadie, didn't seem too into going out in the snow at the start of the run. He surprised me by keeping up a quick pace the whole run; maybe he just wanted to get home faster! When we stopped to take photos, I noticed my battery was at 1%, despite having been full earlier in the day. Somehow we made it through the run with the battery at 1% the whole time, so there was something fishy going on with the battery life. The scoop: only 1 poo for Sadie. Runner: Mel DISTANCE: 7.07 km DURATION: 45:16
I met a lovely trio of Border Collies this fine morning. Sadie and Loki were eager to run while Kismet a.k.a. Wiggles stayed behind. Our run was a game of "Don't Run West" as the chinook that has rolled in made it very hard to head that direction. I will admit I am loving the warmer temperature, but it is basically impossible to cut out an entire direction from a run! Sadie took the lead, Loki followed, and other than the wind, there was truly nothing eventful. This duo is a breeze (no pun intended) to run with! Dog Business: 1 poop 3 pees for Sadie, nothing for Loki. Runner: Kathy |
