Easter weekend with Reba was as awesome as can be. Reba was excited to be here, especially to see Chris! Reba’s first morning was pretty slow to start. She definitely waited until the afternoon to come alive. Between Chris and me, we took her for separate walks on both Friday and Saturday, and then one together in the evening. We also had play-time in the backyard! Her ability to go into stock mode when she sees a rabbit is quite impressive. She literally goes into a trance! By Sunday, Reba was up and moving pretty early. A quick walk in the morning for some fresh air, and then she took advantage of the sunshine and soaked up some vitamin D! It was so much fun having Reba over, and it was even better seeing her settle in so quickly… we can’t wait to see her again!

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE; 7.8 km DURATION; 1 hour 4 minutes Reba was sleeping when I arrived and she slowly staggered out after I called her. When she saw me she fell over (fainting goat style - it was really funny! Haha). We got out and she and Grapes happily ran together, skipped together, and made all the people we passed smile. They were both really tired by the end with big tongues hanging out. Thanks Reba, We'll miss you! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.7 km DURATION:1 hour 6 minutes Running with Reba! As always, Reba is amazing to run with! She came out of the door and immediately dropped to the ground so I could give her belly rubs. We took the long way to the park but once we got there I let her off-leash for a few minutes so she could show off her speed with hill sprints, and then a few laps around the ball diamond. Leashed back up, we detoured up and down the streets to cover as much ground as we could. She was right beside me, and at times behind me surprisingly as I was pushing the pace. We were stopped by a lady in a truck who complimented us on our run/pace. She said she saw us at the bottom of the hill and when she caught up to us, we were a block past the top! Coming home, we stopped for a couple more belly rubs, and were greeted by Reba's mom when we got there! The Scoop: 1 poop and 1 pee. Runner: Brad DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 8 minutes We made a good distance considering how many bio-breaks were needed today. Haha!. We tackled a big icy hill but it was worth it for really nice photos of the city! Reba was all attention when I asked her while passing by other dogs and we had a very pleasant morning. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 2 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes Reba was all jazzed up to start her run! We went a different direction hoping the busier pathways would be less icy and it was a good decision. The girls were quick between our photo breaks and wanted to cool down eating some snow. The weather took a nasty turn at the end and we finished just in time. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 8 minutes The girls started out very slow....all the yellow snow was like a Vegas strip with flashing lights that they couldn't ignore. I let them investigate a bit (or rather there wasn't much choice because they both set their noses on it). After that, we were able to get moving and make up a bit of time lost. We went into a new area that had a whole bunch of tree forts in a row. Lucky kids! Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee, 0 poops. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes The temperature dropped as we were running and it started to snow so we had to run extra fast to stay warm. Luckily, Reba had lots of energy and was happy to keep it moving. She thought she knew where we were going so I tried to keep her guessing and changed up our usual route. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Belly rubs for Reba. Reba and her mom were just finishing up their morning lap around the block when I pulled up. So when they turned the corner and saw me, it looked like Reba's mom was hanging on to the leash for her life as Reba’s hair was flying in the wind to get to me! We started with belly rubs, took a belly rub break at Confederation Park, and then took another belly rub break on the way home. Reba was back to her normal self today. We did some hill sprints and said "hi" to some other runners throughout our journey. The Scoop: 1 poop and a few pees. Runner: Brad DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.8 km DURATION:1 hour 2 minutes Reba was super excited to get going today. She's the happiest person I see on a Monday. Haha! She grabbed a huge boomerang-shaped stick to run with that she was teasing Grapes with. Later on, she was trying to eat some snow so I guess she was getting a bit hot. It was really warm and with their winter coats on, they were probably hot so we took some extra breaks. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 10 minutes The wind seemed to follow us at every turn no matter what direction we tried to go. The best part of the run was through the cemetery, and I debated just hanging out and doing loops in there but it seemed a little weird. Haha. I added one more loop before we headed back but both of my shoelaces came undone and Reba stopped for a second poop so it turned out to be slower than I thought. The girls were fantastic passing other dogs, even big barky ones. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 0 pees, 2 poops. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes Today's theme was sticks and slips. Haha! Reba, somehow found a bunch of sticks along the way and wanted to carry them with us. I have no idea how she found them! We all took turns slipping (no one fell but I did have a pretty good girl scream at one point. Haha! We went up around the golf course for a change of scenery. I forgot to have the location on my phone turned on so it missed the first bit of our run (so annoying, if its not on Strava, it doesn't count right?!?). Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 5 minutes Who would have thought we would be running mid- January in a t-shirt! Reba was all business today and wouldn't smile for her pictures because she wanted to prove how healthy she was and how much she could run. Haha! We passed lots of people and dogs and she was only barky for the first couple of passerbys. It was very enjoyable. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner; Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute New territory, same Reba! Reba showed me around her new neighbourhood today. We made our way to Confederation Park where I was granted permission to let her off-leash. Reba got some belly rubs and then off she went to let out some zoomies in the big space. She stayed within 60’ feet without me calling her, but when I did call she came to me like a missile! Great run with my pal Reba! The Scoop: 0 poops, 0 pees. I gave her a few extra treats for being awesome! Runner: Brad DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8K DURATION: 1 hour 11 minutes Although it was cold out, the frost made it super pretty! We ran through the park and it was quiet and peaceful. Reba wanted to go back the same way we came from (probably not used to the area and didn't want to get lost!). I had to convince her that I knew the area quite well and could get us back home. H=aha. Just at the very end of the run, she got some snowballs on her paws that were bugging her. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 3 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes It was a lovely last run of 2021 with Reba today! Our first 500m was painfully slow (we went down the road with all the condos that has way too many smells that the dogs can't resist). After we passed that area, we picked up the pace considerably. There were tons of Canadian Geese that Reba was really interested in.. I am not sure what she wanted to do to them but she was pretty convinced she wanted to get to where they were. Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica |
