Oh my heart was so excited for this weekend to come. Quinn was coming to stay at our home. She is one of my longest running DGR dogs that I have had the pleasure of running and pet sitting. We have a very special bond indeed. I can say without hesitation - Aoife & Quinn have a ‘Girl Power Bond’. It was a full ‘doggy’ house at our home this weekend and Quinn kept all in line. She has always taken good care of me. Quinn remembered Aoife, but I think her size took Quinn by a bit of a surprise. It has been a few months since these gals have seen each other. Immediately they had fun. Quinn remembers, the guest bedroom is her bed. I always find it humorous that she waits for me to open the door and zoom, she is on the bed in a nanosecond. On Friday night, it was just her at the house so we shared the bed. On Saturday night, she let Sully also sleep on the bed! I was completely framed in. Sully stretched out crosswise and Quinn on the other pillow. I was not going anywhere. Saturday was one big party at Nosehill. Ennis, Sully, Aoife, Quinn, Henry and I hiked over to Nosehill. In another nanosecond Quinn dove straight into the pond. She knew she would need to cool off to enjoy all the shenanigans that the pups were going to get up to. Also, Quinn has the fluffiest fur. On Sunday, because of weather it was a perfect baking morning. Quinn supervised the kitchen. She is always so alert. We walked Quinn home so that the gang could have one last play-date before almost everyone headed home. Quinn, my dear, you come over anytime you feel like it. It was so great to have you back.

Oh Quinn, you do not know how much Henry & I have missed you!! Being a little nostalgic here, Quinn was one of the first dogs that I ever ran with DGR many many moons ago. She has a soft spot in my heart. To have her stay with stay with us this past week was extra special. In true Quinn fashion, she also won over the heart of our newest addition to the family, Aoife. It took about an hour for Quinn to realize this crazy mini horse was staying!! We like to think Quinn considers our home her second home, so of course our home is her home but with another dog. These two gals got on famously. They were crazy glued to each other. No,……really….. even on walks they were side-by-side. They played really well together, even at 1:30 AM & 3:30 AM they both thought that was enough sleeping. Let's play. Since Aoife sleeps in her crate, Quinn would come to my side of the bed to say “Aunty Michelle, Aoife wants out to play with me”. There were a few pack walks with friends Huxley and Ennis. Everyday was a party. Henry keeps looking for his assistant in the kitchen. Quinn, in her quiet manner, would always be in the kitchen supervising. As always Quinn we loved having you and are ALL missing you.

Here are some photos of DGR Dogs Ennis, Quinn and Aoife taken by DGR Runner Michelle. Suffice it to say, these dogs LOVE to run! We are all thrilled for warmer weather in Calgary this week and more outdoor time with these wonderful dogs.

It is always great to have an extended family member come and stay. Quinn arrived on Tuesday morning. As per usual, her joyous self entered the house. Then she was not impressed! What is that black fluff ball doing at ’her peoples’ place? Quinny, this is our 9-week old AARCS foster pup named Felipé. No worries for Quinn, she will ignore that crazy bundle of energy and go be with Carys (our granddaughter's) in her room and be saved by Carys endless attention. WHAT!!! Carys is not here, this is going to be an awful week. Come and cuddle Quinn, all will be okay. Needless to say, Quinn helped parent Felipé to be a good doggy citizen and even started playing with him. Quinn did pout about Carys not being here but that's okay. you can sleep on her bed if that makes things alright. Today to get back into Quinn’s good books and after all her hard parenting. I had a surprise for her. Her good friend Cassie came for some girlfriend time and commiseration. I think Quinn still loves us and her ’other people’s home.’ I do feel it's safe to say Quinn would not be in favour of a little fur sibling. Just way too much work, hey Quinn🤣. Love You, Sweetheart! Miss you already.

Quinn & I flew out the door this morning! Usually, protocol suggests a warm-up except when there is a rabbit antagonizing an eager pooch. You just run and try and catch it😂. I thought with this start, we would be sprinting the whole hour. Sunday rules kicked in after the inevitable ’No Success’ on the bunny front. Quinn got a lot of sniffing in and every so often I had to remind her it's cold out here! Another peaceful and fun outing. I promise to be better acclimatized for our next run. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop, 6 pees, and many sniffs.🐾

How is my ’Weekend Gal’? Quinn was feeling extra Zen today. We agreed to call today's crisp & cool outing a jog 🐾. We had no need for speed, just that rhythmic pace of being in sync and one. This gal is just the best Weekend Gal. See you tomorrow sweetheart for some more Fall beauty. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and over 8 pees.

Happy Saturday Quinn🐶. Waiting out the early morning rain shower was a good idea in one sense but wow were the squirrels out in full force after the rain. For those that have had the pleasure of taking Quinn out will know that she LOVES squirrels. The first half of our outing was trying to avoid those tricksters who Quinn loves to chase 😂. We had a great run and I was aiming for 10 but an extra K never hurts. Thank goodness to the fantastic Ranchland Resident who left a bowl and instructions for all the furry babies. Thank You Thank You. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop & 6 pees.
It has been a fantastic few days with our family. Yep, Quinn is part of our family too.❤️Quinn arrived on Tuesday and our grandaughter Carys, arrived on Wednesday and they quickly became BFFs!! There has been lots of snuggles, cuddles, crafts, belly rubs, and ’Girl Fun’. Side Note: Quinn’s was not interested in having her toes painted😂. With all this girl fun it was time to add another dynamic to the mix. DGR Dog Sully came on Friday to spice up Quinn’s runs at Nosehill. Let's just say Quinn teased Sully and he loved every minute of it. Thanks Quinn for joining the Girls Week! Xo Xo. Special Thank You ’C’ for the vino and fresh BC fruit.

Trail running and exploring with Quinn was FANTASTIC! What a superb way to begin a Sunday after a wonderful Folk Festival on Saturday. Sweet Quinn and I stayed high up overlooking the city for most of our run taking in our surroundings! We ran with butterflies and bees, through tall wild grasses and wild flowers 💐 and ended up at the bottom back into civilization. This was all in between many, many heavenly sniffs!! Quinn was a pleasure to run with and if I had any concerns (and I didn’t ) getting back to her house, she was more than happy to lead the way. She was quite excited to see mom. Doggy Business: one good poop and many pees.

It's been about a week since Quinn and I ran together, and today we took it a little easier by going 3K less. It seemed like an easy day today so we headed up to Edgemont Park for a quick run in the park. Quinn preferred to take time sniffing and brushing up against the grass which was perfectly alright with me. We ended by doing a sprint down the hill and capped it off just a little over an hour. Thanks for the great weekend welcome, Quinn! I hope you have a good rest of the day! The Scoop: 1 poo, several pees.

It was a twelve k sun-day for Quinn! We didn't even start out that way because I was feeling a bit under the weather, but Quinn's bright and shining face was like twelve rays of sunshine right to the heart.... which might have normally killed a person were it physically possible. We headed up to the dog park near Edgemont and did a big loop on the trail there. It was my first time seeing no coyotes and a great breeze was going the entire time. Quinn was absolutely lovely and she ran beside me the entire way. Th best part was, when you go up a long hill you get to run down it, and Quinn and I bolted all the way down right back to her house. She definitely earned a rest for the day! Have a good one Quinn, The Scoop: 2 poos, several pees.
Gentle Soul Quinn goes to the Michelle & Henry’s Rescue!! This weekend was made much better having our ’Special Girl Quinn’ come and stay from Saturday Morning until Sunday dinner time. After over five months in our home, our Foster Cassie went to her forever home. Quinn and Cassie are friends, so they had some backyard play and last minute goodbyes and cuddles. Sunday was ’The Celebration of Life’ for my Father who passed away one year ago. Poor Quinn soaked up some tears and graciously accepted all our hugs. This sweet girl is such a lovey. Thanks Quinn for your loving presence and you are probably feeling you have had enough hugs for a week!! We had some Saturday excitement on our last walk for the night. It was all out fun and intrigue for Quinn. All the bunnies came out and Quinn was on high alert!! More fun could have been had if I would have not worn flip flops!! I could not have had a better house guest this weekend.

Miss Quinn, it's a Sunday Run Day🐾!! We headed for the shadiest route I knew. For some reason even though today the temperature shows lower it seemed hotter than yesterday. We headed into Ranchlands because there is this road where all the trees hang over the sidewalk and it is nice and shady. Miss Quinn was hit and miss on our water stops. Every second stop, she would lap up all her H20. Both Quinn and I were surprised at how busy the neighbourhood was today. Families, runners, and doggy walkers all out in full force. I had forgotten that it was the Communities Pancake Breakfast so of course that smell wafted in the air for some of our run. No pancakes or sausages for us today but we did burn some calories. The Doggy Business Report: 1 1/2 water bottles consumed by Quinn which then turns into 6 pees and 1 poop.

Happy Saturday Sweetheart🐶❤️🐾. Miss Quinn was right at the door this morning so I knew she was excited to go for a run. We headed out with a certain route in mind. We made a stop where Quinn pondered the perfect bathroom spot. That’s when one of my Dalhousie neighbours, Veronica, opened her back gate and started to chat with us. Of course, she loved Quinn and she said several times ”Oh what a pretty girl”. We were so lucky because Veronica gave us fresh beets (which I love) from her garden. With this gift in hand, it was a must to swing by my house. That meant Quinn had to search the house for Henry and then when they found each other there had to be treats and cuddles!! Needless to say, we changed our route and plans several times today - but would not change a thing about our time together. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and 5 pees.

Two words sum up today's run with Quinn......’Social Sunday’. We had a fantastic outing in Hawkwood. It was getting warm early so lots of hydration stops. We met up with this couple, and the wife fell in love with Quinn. I must say Quinn was laying it on pretty good. The wife talked about how she wanted to get a dog just like Quinn🐶. I think the husband may need more convincing but Quinn you did a great job with the charm. Then we ran into fellow DGR doggy Kali. Or as I call her ’My Pocket Princess’. So great to see the family out for a stroll and catch up with them. Asha (the other doggy) was a bit shy but Kali sure did remember me. Quinn and I headed on back home where it was bound to be cooler. Such a Social Sunday! Thanks for coming out with me. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop & 8 pees. Two water bottles were consumed while we were out.
