![]() DISTANCE: 10.02 km DURATION: 1:14:00 Olive my dear, I knew this day was coming, but I must admit I was a bit bummed driving over to get you. This was our last run for a while and as soon as I got in the house I knew this run was going to be a good one. You had a furry family house guest visiting, but you were still excited to see me and get out for a run. No worries my little Chick-A-Dee we are going to make this one count. It was the first time Olive and I did over 10K together and it was a spectacular run. Checking first with Dad to see if this was an okay idea, we got the thumbs up. I did not want to rush, purely for the reason I did not want our time to end too quickly plus we contended with a lot of ice. Miss Olive took a shine to another handsome young man that we passed. She kept looking at him while we ran past and ran head first into a huge snow drift. Olive, I really think you made his day. For sure you made mine!! Keep Being You - because you are perfect just as you are, my friend. The Doggy Business Report: 2 pees. Runner: Michelle

![]() DISTANCE: 8.59 km DURATION: 1:08:14 Hello Olive, I know you know that I’m outside, just need some time to solve the locked door situation. There was a little delay due to a missing key and I am sure if it had taken even 15 seconds longer Olive would have remedied the situation. I’m in, we are together and all is well again. "Yay yay, you're in, I have said 'Hi - Let’s go running!!'” Of course I was reading Olive’s mind but she can be very clear. 👍 The weather is a bit fickle my friend, cold with the wind and instant heat when you get out of it. Once again reading Olive's thought bubble “I love running and being outside - what's all this talk about weather?” By now I’m sure whomever is reading our blog gets the idea that Olive & I have lots of girl chat on our outings. Plus, Olive gives me many different facial expressions when she is really involved in our conversation 😊. Olive, my dear, you are such a character, I love spending time with you. Upon arriving back home, we had the same little key situation and Olive groaned and howled with dismay. Sorry Girlfriend but all better now. I was truly expecting the old ‘Eye Roll’ from Olive.😉. The Doggy Business Report: just 2 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 9.06 km DURATION: 1:10:27 Good afternoon ‘Chick-A-Dee😊. Olive knew it was Thursday and it was Run Day!! She tried a few moves to come say ‘Hi’ while she was supposed to be in her ‘Sit & Stay’. I had to laugh because Olive is a long girl and she thought if she just stretched out with belly to the floor, her human would not notice her ‘Sit & Stay’ turned into a Gumby full body stretch to say her greetings. In Olive’s defence I don’t think her back toenails ever left the original position.😂 Olive you're a silly little girl but that is what makes you, You. Off we sailed to work on our tan and check out what was happening in Arbor Lake. Sun was shining and a great day for snacks, or maybe I should say - Olive was helping with garbage pick up. We must have been on the same trail as a 'pack' of Hansel & Gretel’s. I wish there was only a trail of bird seed or was that breadcrumbs?? Olive fortified herself all along the run. I hope you have a rest now after your 5 courses. Great day to make it 9K with my vibrant friend. See you later alligator. The Doggy Business Report: 1 & 1. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.65 km DURATION: 59:35 Honk Honk, Beep Beep and move to the side. It's Olive & Michelle's PoWeR HouR!! Hold on 'Chickadee' I'm coming too!! Olive's thought bubble 'Get the lead out, Michelle. It's called a Power Hour for a reason.' The sun was out in full force and the temperature was rising and us girls need to fly. We stretched our legs out for some fun spurts of speed. The old heart (Michelle's) was a thumping and Olive's was too, but for another reason. Across the street she noticed a young man (2-legged version) that got her tail a-wagging. This young guy could tell Olive wanted to say "Hi" so he crossed over to give Olive a pat and not let her interest go unnoticed. Valentines Day was yesterday you little flirt but that's okay. 😉 Enough of that. Back to Honk-Honk and Beep Beep here we come. Just one more quick stop to bark at the bench that had a guy's photo on it. This one did not get Olive's heart thumping 😂. Olive, you just make my day! The Doggy Business Report: 1 healthy poop and 2 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 6.02 km DURATION: 1:08:30 Dear Mr. Claus, I am writing to inform you of a 'must have' employee Her name is Miss Olive and she is a lively Golden Lab that would make your sleigh run supersonic. Olive loves LoVes LOVES the snow and can bound and leap through 2 feet of snow with endless energy. She is Prancer & Dancer all wrapped into one. You know what they say about 'Girl Power' and Olive is all that. She has four paw power. Her exuberance for life is infectious and she loves meeting people out in the snow. A special 'Hello' is given to all shovelers. In closing, this fine young gal would be a hit for your team. Okay Olive I think you will be a dog with a job this holiday season😊. Another fantastic outing with Miss Olive. This gal is half snow bunny I think. Take care of your elbows. The Doggy Business Report: 1 pee that was it. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.12 km DURATION: 1:00:05 "Hi Happy Girl😊" and Miss Olive makes sure to tell the whole house I have arrived. Why Miss O, you just make the day warmer when I receive those kind of greetings. Our run today must have fallen just at Olive's 'Goofy Hour'. She was hamming it up for the camera and also she was full of beans today. We would be running and then in a split second we just 'had too' run that same block all over again. This happened a few times plus we had a couple 'dead stops' and sniff. Actually Olive sniffed and I sniffled. Olive, you will have to do the smelling for both of us. We stopped a couple of times to warm up Olive's paws. She is such a good pooch and let's you hold onto her paws till they are toasty warm . See you later alligator 😘The Doggy Business Report: Hurray for 1 poop (I was starting to think Olive was playing shy) and 2 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.25 km DURATION: 1:06:24 Good Afternoon Miss Olive 😊. You are happy to see me. Olive did her happy dance with gusto today. She just knew it was Thursday Run Day! I met Olive's human dad today and he got Miss Olive's harness on while Olive told him that "She's here for moi". Off we went to see what was happening in the city. Down through the park we went to truly give these IceBug shoes a proper test drive and that was not the end of the test drive we then had 3K of icy pathway. Olive said 'You should keep the shoes, they passed the test.' I agree Olive, now if we could only get out of the cold wind. We ducked into Hawkwood to find relief and at one point Olive stopped for her regular stop & sniff and looked at me to say "It's getting cold." I hear you sunshine, let's zip back home. Thanks Olive for being such a keen participant on today's less than ideal conditions. I will pick you up in a week for another date.🐾 The Doggy Business Report: just a single long pee. Runner; Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.33 km DURATION: 59:30 What a special day it is today!! I got to be reunited with Olive and go running on this brilliantly bright day. I'm tickled pink because Miss Olive greeted me at the door like we were old friends. Which we are, but can you believe it has been over a year & a half. I can tell you are long past that 'puppy' phase but still have that great 'Olive' character. Girl, I think you have been hitting the pathways (human version = the gym). You are looking fabulous and very fit. So this run seemed pretty easy for Olive. We did have several 'stop 'n' sniff' moments so not to overdo our reunion. One thing today also brought to our finish beside one happy pooch, was a rather wet Miss Olive. We stayed outside and towel dried off and Miss Olive was a bit perplexed why I did not open the front door immediately. Olive loves when you talk to her, so we had a big discussion on the benefits of drying off. 😊The Doggy Business Report: just 2 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 16.47 km DURATION: 3:16:54 Not a scheduled run but I've been looking after Olive who is the most energetic dog I've ever met and figured we would try and tire her out on a long walk around Glenmore Resevoir today. She is 100% sled dog and gave my arm a good work out the whole way- except when I swapped leashes and put her on the long extension leash for a bit. The extra space allowed her enough freedom to keep from pulling me forward or back for a while. It was chilly for half the walk, with a short snowfall followed by sun for the remainder. All in all, Olive did great. We met a few dogs and she did really well! She seems slightly less energetic now... Time for us to rake some leaves! Runner: Nathan DISTANCE: 6.03 km DURATION: 1:08:32
Olive it's so good to see you again!😊 My friend had knee surgery 2 1/2 months ago so Olive was in charge today. She is such a happy pooch and is still the same girl I remembered; she is so excited about everything! Olive chose our route today although I'm not sure how much she saw of it; her sniffer was glued to the ground. Except of course when she would look up at me to see if I was offering her anything😜. With a face like that, how can I resist! I kept hearing a noise and couldn't figure out what it was until I realized it was Olive! She was really enjoying whatever it was she was smelling there was some snorting and grunting going on😂. Such a cutie! It was really great to see you again Olive! Thanks for the entertaining adventure! 4 pees for Olive today, that's it. Please note the map did not show up in Runkeeper; must be gremlins in the phone. Runner: Tracy We have really enjoyed Olive's playful personality. Today was such a blue sky gorgeous Fall day so Olive and Teddy had lots of time playing in the backyard. Both dogs are obsessed with the ball . I actually think Teddy is obsessed with the ball and Olive is obsessed with Teddy so she likes to take the ball away from him. It was interesting though because when she had the ball and Teddy did not pursue her, she would go up to him and rub under his neck or drop the ball in hopes that he would engage in a game of keep away. Olive is sleeping well at night and has brief moments in her crate though we are home a large part of the day. I had a few dog runs for Dog Gone Running today but will get her out for a "walkie." early evening. I am sure she misses her people and I have no doubt they miss her but we are trying to give her a great holiday!
Pet Sitter: Ruth The long weekend meant a short trip to Gull Lake for some cabin time with friends. It was our first night sitting Olive and she was such a trooper as the cabin was full with lots of kids as well as 4 other dogs (mostly little dogs). Olive is a young Shepherd X that loves to play with other dogs and I think she has a huge crush on my chocolate Shepherd/Lab X Teddy. She could not get enough playtime with him. We actually went on 4 walks on Saturday through a marshy area that had a long boardwalk and ran along the lake. Olive loved prancing in the water and chasing Teddy; her boyfriend. Teddy responded by grabbing Olive's leash and taking her for a walk (see video). I think Olive has 2 modes: 1) high speed mode and 2) tuckered out mode. She is a sweet gal! I am looking forward to more fun days ahead!

Hello Olive! What a cutie and so happy, I've ran Olive once before and boy, she sure has grown up! Olive and I had a fantastic run this morning, I let her lead the way and it was all about the trails. I remember that from last time she prefers the road less traveled, my kind of dog! It was raining out when we started so Olive and I were pretty much alone for the whole time. Sometimes that's the best (no distractions). 😊 1 poo and 3 pees. Thanks Olive, you put a big smile on my face today! Hope to see you again. Runner: Tracy
![]() DISTANCE: 8.09 km DURATION: 58:47 It was a stop-often kind of run today! Olive was so happy and excited to get outside. As I peeked around the corner entering her home, she danced a little dance for me, with her two front feet. Outside we went, into the warmth of the morning. If we weren't moving forward, Olive was sniffing, rolling, taking a "nature" moment, or having a drink. We tried to stay in the tall, moist grass, and shade, but at times, it was not possible. At the end of our adventure, I turned on the hose for Olive to have fresh, cold water. She LOVED that!! The scoop: Olive peed only. Runner: Chris |
