Today Nikita and Lucy and I enjoyed a walk around their neighbourhood together. I'm still pretty stiff and sore, so I decided that a walk would be perfect, as long as the girls got to sniff whatever they wanted, and enjoy all the shade breaks they wanted. This seemed to be a good compromise for Nikita and Lucy because they grinned the entire time, and of course, got lots of pets! There was nothing much going on in this part of town, but there were a few other runners out that the three of us watched with envy. Soon girls! We ended right around the hour mark because it was starting to get pretty warm out and the girls were making more and more shade stops. We tested out the new doggy log app, and it was great! I definitely had some user error (I gave the app permission to use my location but then didn't give it access to GPS - oops!) but I think it will definitely be fun! I had a great walk with these two girls today, and I hope they had a great time too! Thanks for taking it easy on me girls! Nikita - 1 pee, 1 poop. Lucy - no poops, so many pees.

I had a nice visit with Nikita and Lucy this afternoon. Though it was short, I feel Nikita and I made a lot of progress. Today I was able to leash Nikita without a peep from her. I'm very happy and can't wait until our next visit!
Today was a tiny step in the right direction. No doggy business to report. Photos from archive.

WOW! I got even a better reception than I did yesterday, Nikita and Lucy sure know how to make me smile.😊 It was a warm one out so as I suspected the gals and I took our sweet time soaking in the sun and then resting in the shade.😆 Thanks for putting up with me ladies! I had a lovely time. Cheers!

Lucy and Nikita were slightly confused (I think) about today’s adventure. First of all, we headed in the wrong direction and second why our we out so long?!?!?!!! Oh it’s an extra long pee break!😂 What I’m trying to say is there was minimal running happening.😬 No worries we headed for the trails instead. It’s been a while but I took them on a route (sort of) that we use to take back in the day.😜 I tried my best to go for longer but I had to talk them through the last kilometre and a half ( it was getting hot out) so we headed on back to the cool comforts of home. Thanks for hanging with me ladies! Always a pleasure.😘 A few pees each. Cheers!

Today I spent my time getting to know Nikita and Lucy. Nikita is still a little hesitant and our relationship is still a work in progress but Lucy and I hit it off and went for a nice walk. The Scoop: 2 pees.

These two were full of enthusiasm this afternoon!😊 And I can see that Lucy has been teaching Nikita the high jump😂 After they showed me how light on their feet they are, we headed out. We went down the stairs for a break😆. Nikita dropped for some belly scratches and Lucy needed a snack. We then headed over to Gopher Central, eventually making our way back to their crib. Thanks for a great time ladies! A few pees each. Cheers!

Today started off great, then it was not so great, then was great again! I love all the pets and partying we do when I first arrive - they are so excited and happy that it's infectious. We went to their park early in the run and that's where the not so great part happened - Nikita and I were stung by wasps! The girls were sniffing at something super interesting in the grass which turned out to be a wasp nest and before I realized it, Nikita and I were stung! I don't think Lucy was because she was cool as a cucumber, but Nikita and I both had a pretty good jump start. We continued our run with Nikita and I comparing stings and had a great, but hot, rest of our run. I should mention, as dramatic as it sounds, the wasps weren't that bad! But Nikita definitely was itching and licking at her leg where she was stung during our first few shade stops. The rest of the run was great! By the end, they wanted to go back into the park but luckily we were out of time! Next time girls! Other highlights include lots of shady breaks to cool down and get pets, and gopher hunting in wasp-free parks. It was a great run, as always! Thanks girls! No poops, 2 pees for Nikita, and 4 pees Lucy.

This delightful duo always makes a gal feel welcome!😊 I missed these two little poopers on Monday and I think the feeling was mutual.... or was it the snacks!?!😁 In any case, Lucy and Nikita were entertaining as usual and we jammed in a lot of laughs in the short time we had together. Thanks for just being you ladies! 3 pees each. CHEERS!

Today was perfect Nikita and Lucy running weather! We breezed through our 7km, and still had time to stop in shady areas and 'hunt' gophers! There were lots of ducks on the pond that they could look at which was very exciting for them, and the paths were pretty much all to ourselves! All told, it made for a pretty quiet little run, so there's not much to report aside from that! It's always a treat to run these girls, and I hope they had a great time! I know I did, thanks girls! Nikita - 3 pees, 1 poop, Lucy - no poop, 5 pees.

Today Nikita and Lucy were already hot by the time I got there. The heat was all in the sun so we stuck to the shadier residential streets for the most part before finishing off in their park. They were totally happy with this plan because it meant we had lots of shady rest breaks. It was a quiet little run, but that was just fine for the three of us. I hope they had a great time and are nice and cool! Thanks for the run girls! Nikita - 1 poop, 3 pees, Lucy - no poop, 4 pees.

The three of us meandered about the village getting lost in our thoughts with a few pitstops along the way.😊 Lucy and Nikita had no intentions of rushing our outing today.😂 Lucy was more interested in taking it easy unlike Nikita who had to at least try to catch a snack. After that, we nonchalantly made our way back to the castle. Thanks for the entertainment you two lovelies! A few pees each today. Cheers!

Today Nikita and Lucy and I were joined by new DGR Runner Destiny for a 'meet and greet' run. We went through some residential areas at first so that we could all get to know each other before the mayhem of the park, but the girls took to Destiny so well that the extra caution wasn't necessary. They all got along so well that I felt like the fifth wheel! These girls are in really good hands with Destiny, and I know that although our run was a little unusual today, they had a great time. Thanks for the run girls! Nikita - 1 poop, 3 pees. Lucy - no poop, 5 pees.

Lucy and Nikita were in slow motion today. After such a warm welcome and a lot of jumping around that was it!😆 Maybe they used up all their energy or as I suspect these two party animals had a busy weekend and are still recovering😜! Gopher patrol didn’t last that long as they both preferred resting in the shade. Thanks for coming out ladies! You always make me smile! 3 pees each. Cheers!

Today, I wasn't sure how far Nikita and Lucy would go before camping out in a shady area, but thanks to the cooler wind, we made our full distance! We did one of our usual routes backwards which was a nice change for all of us. There were plenty of gophers in the park, but the girls had about 3km behind them by the time we got there so it wasn't a mad frantic dash from hole to hole, more of just a mad dash! They seemed to find the paved paths cooler today - likely because of the shady trees and wind. Once we got into the park on some trails we were in the sun and a bit sheltered, so after we got out we headed home to some water. I had a little bottle with me but forgot a dish and Lucy seemed very put off by the fact that she had to drink out of the bottle lid! She's such a funny girl! One of their humans was home today so they had extended yard time, and lots of love when I dropped them off. I hope they had a great run! I know I did! Nikita - 1 poop, 1 pee. Lucy - no poop, 3 pees.

Lucy and Nikita were doing the dance of joy when I walked in their house!😊 It was pretty cute I must say. Okay ladies there’s a storm a-brewin so we better giddy up and go! In desperate hopes to stay dry, the three of us took off like lightning and then the rains came😳 Needless to say, we got soaked! Do you think a little storm would stop these two gals from gopher hunting? NOPE!😂 There was no point in fighting it as we were all ready wet, and just like that the weather cleared up so we took our time heading back to the crib. Thanks for that oh so entertaining dance ladies! 😘 2 pees each. CHEERS!
