Happy Sunday, Nell! It looks like we lucked out with the weather this weekend. It was supposed to rain, but we dodged the bullet and were able to stay dry on both our runs, from the rain that it. Nell and I ran into Mission on our usual trail. At our turn-around point, Nell was just so excited to be at the river that without a moment to stop and think, she leaped entirely into the river, into the deepest part I may add! She impressed me with her excellent swimming skills, even though still on the leash, she has mastered the doggy paddle and floated about the river with ease. After a little cool-down and break from running, we zoomed back to Nell's house with a few more rests to eat some grass and enjoy the lovely afternoon. What a way to end the weekend, and kick off another work week. See you Wednesday, Nell! The scoop: 1 pee.

Happy Friday, Nell! Long time no see! I have been eagerly awaiting this run, as I think you were too. The energy was contagious as soon as I walked in the door. Nell was wasting no time; she was ready to go! We zoomed along our usual loop, however a little slower than normal. I accidentally went on a harder run than anticipated yesterday, so my legs were not too pleased with me today! Despite the soreness, Nell and I had a great run. Some things have sure changed in the last few weeks of being gone; scooters seem to be the primary mood of transportation now, how fun! People scoot scooting everywhere you look. Good for me, because they are so fun, but just another thing Miss Nell needs to "herd . I think scooters go up there with skateboards for Miss Nell; she's so wound up wanting to get on them and see what they are that this caused for a few stoppages on our route today. Needless to say, our run today was very entertaining and perfectly timed as we just missed the rain! Thanks for the run, Nell! See you on Sunday. The scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop.

Today, Nell wanted to be a nature girl so we headed out to do a loop by the fish hatchery and the zoo. The paths were surprisingly empty for such a gorgeous day. So aside from a slow start, we were able to cruise right along. We did make a few river stops as it got pretty hot out during our run - so hot that when we arrived at St Patrick's Island Park, I went in with her! Other highlights include seeing a muskox, seeing the rapids, and running through East Village instead of running around it like we usually do. When we finished we were both pretty tuckered so we had lots of cuddle time in the elevator and in her home. I loved filling in for Paige, Nell is a very special girl! Thanks for the great couple weeks of runs girl! I had a blast and I hope you did too!

Today Nell and I enjoyed a beautiful Sunday morning run together! It wasn't too hot, the paths weren't too busy, and everything was just right! We still made some cool-down and time in the river where Nell got to stare at some ducks which was a bonus. There were lots of runners out and about which she loved - lots of people to 'race'! We stopped quick at the running room in Eau Claire for a bathroom/water/meet-up with some of Nell's adoring fans, and then easily finished up our 12km - nice and relaxed. When we got back home, Nell sat down and gave me a look like 'ok, in a couple of minutes I'll be ready again!' Sorry girl, you tuckered me out! Thanks for the great run Nell! I hope you have a great day! 1 poop, 2 pees.

Today Nell definitely helped me through our run - my legs were not super happy to be out after a really intense speed session last night. Nell was SO excited to go though that it refuelled my energy and the kms just flew by! We based our route off of two things: 1) where Nell wanted to go, and 2) proximity to water. The sun came out right when we started our run so water was a definite must. We went in and out of the river multiple times, and then on our Sunnyside loop stopped by a cafe that has a dog-free patio but has dishes of water out just on the other side of their fence. We stopped there for a bit and Nell really seemed to enjoy her 'patio' time, much to the delight of the patrons. She always has lots of fans! Towards the end, we took it a bit easy as she was slowing down and getting tired, and by the time we got home there was no argument about coming inside! Of course, by the time we actual made it inside and had her leash off, she was ready to go again! Sorry girl! Hot summer afternoons are for post run naps inside! It was another speedy super fun run, and I can't wait to go again! Thanks Nell! 1 pee and 1 poop.

What a run!! I almost forgot what a speed demon Nell is. When I arrived, she wanted to skip the introductions and hit the road. Pedestrian traffic was heavy today, seeing as it was a sunny Sunday and Folk Fest bumpin’ downtown. That didn’t stop Nell from cruising and weaving between cyclists, runners, and other pups along our route. The only “distraction” to her was rollerbladers and people on the Lime-E scooters - I think she wanted them to come out running with her! The highlight of the day was taking a dip in the river. We found a nice, calm beach area where Nell was able to lay and take a cooling bath. She took this opportunity to lap up the spring water and it didn’t stop me from dipping my toes in either! I hope to see you again soon, Nell. It’s always a pleasure to be running beside your smiling face! The scoop: 1 poo, 0 pee.

Oops, Nell, I was so excited to see you I pushed pause at the beginning of our first 500 meters. I was excited to see the speedster Nell since it has been some time. She greeted me with her usual exuberance and delight. Anyone who knows Nell know that she likes to go fast. Today sweetheart the heat is high and for our furry friends, we need to be aware of this. Nell & I may have not been speed demons but there was plenty of other exciting things to accent the ’fun meter’ of our outing. Nell had 5 swimming breaks. I laughed liked crazy at the first one, where she literally plopped and dropped down in the water. We also spent some time hunting!! Yep, lots of docile gophers and lazy mice out along the river path. One very cute little bunny, that Nell was spell-bound with but he/she was quick. We also met an Australian Shepherd that Nell would have loved to frolic with and the feeling was mutual on the other end. All-in-all, it was a fun in the sun run🐾. The Doggy Business Report: 2 pee.

Wow! 16km, Nell! What a perfect way to spend a Wednesday, and the proper way to send me off on my holiday. My mission today was to complete a long training run before I had to go, with or without Nell. Not to my surprise, Nell was more than willing to help me complete the task; she made it look easy! We zoomed towards Elbow Drive and to the community of Britannia, without a moment to spare, we hit our half-way point faster than I anticipated. We could not have asked for better long run running temperature. The light breeze mixed with some rainfall to keep our body cooled off and ready to go. With a stop half-way for a rest and a swim, Nell and I soared back towards Victoria Park. Thank you so much Nell for helping me complete my training run, I could not have done it without you, nor would I want to! You’re the best training companion and motivator anyone could ask for. See you in a couple of weeks. Have fun! The scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee.

Happy Sunday Nell, This is the final outing for the weekend full of fun and running! It was the most beautiful morning today for a run, not a cloud in the sky and a very comfortable temperature. We took it nice and easy this a.m, taking in the beautiful fresh air, blue sky, and trails to ourselves! Thanks for the wonderful weekend Nell, that was very fun! Let’s top off this East Village/Mission/Ramsey loop with a view from Scotsman Hill! See you Wednesday! The scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee.

A lovely evening stroll with Nell around the river followed but tug-o-war and fetch! She and her feline sibling were fed and watered and both did their business! I'll be back to check up on you guys tomorrow. The scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee.

Happy Saturday, Nell! And outing 1 of 2 for the day, lucky us! We were very fortunate this morning for our rain, it was pouring on my drive over but thankfully, stopped as soon as we left Nell's house. I am not going to lie, my legs were a little sore from our run yesterday, hence the slower pace today. It's incredible how fast you fall out of a running routine when you take a couple of weeks off! That's okay, we are back at it again in full force, and I will make sure I run extra speedy on my vacation so when I get back, it will be as if we never skipped a beat. Thanks for the morning Nell. It was the perfect way to kick off the day. See you again in a few hours! The scoop: 1 pee.
