Maverick was in a wonderful deep sleep when I got to the house to pick him up for his run. This was likely the reason we had a nice walk with a little bit of a run, I did notice that his rear end was drooping a little bit and he was dragging his back paws slightly and you could hear his nails just scratching the sidewalk. We had loads of cuddles and he did great on the walk. It was a warm day and we just took our time and enjoyed the outdoors. Pee: lots. Poop: 1 healthy.

This was my first time running Maverick and while we were by the river, an elderly lady with what appeared to be her 5-year old granddaughter approached us. She asked what was up with the muzzle. I responded, not really knowing what the muzzle was for, "Do you know who Hannibal Lecter is?" She hesitantly exclaimed "Sure, the character in Silence of the Lambs". "Well, he was based off this dog" And at that moment, I kid you not**, Maverick sucked air and made a crisp "th-th-th-th-th-" noise. The lady quickly escorted her granddaughter away. (1 poo and 5 pees)
**Actually, I entirely kid. This story was completely made up. Maverick and I had a very lovely run.

It was a gorgeous day for a nice walk/run. Maverick and I really enjoyed it. We saw lots of activity on the pathway including children riding bikes, parents out with their small children, and elderly being rolled by their adult children. It was amazing how many people commented on how cute Maverick is. He always does a fabulous job; it is a real pleasure running with him. His rear legs were great today I did not notice anything odd. He drank lots of water when we got home! Pee: lots. Poo: 1 healthy.

The run started off with heavy rain then it stopped and then it continued with thunder and lightning! We did turn back a little sooner as we were both getting completely soaking wet. Maverick was also showing some fatigue signs in his hips (drooping his back end) and I wanted to make sure that we weren’t pushing it more than necessary. As always, I had a fabulous time with Maverick. Pee: lots. Poo: 1 healthy.

It was lovely to meet Maverick today! He was a total sweetheart and a delightful running partner. I'm quite familiar with the area when driving but had a bit of difficulty finding paths. We stuck to the sidewalks and headed down toward a school gym that I've coached at before. There was a beautiful community garden that we stopped at for some pictures. As we left the garden a very nice woman stopped us - apparently the police were around the area looking for two young boys so she let me know. She complimented Maverick on how handsome he is and we were off on the look out. We didn't see anything except for lots of police vehicles and a helicopter circling overhead - I guess a bit of excitement. Thank you for the wonderful run, Maverick! I hope I'll see you again! The scoop: more than 5 pees (lost count), and 2 poops.

Sometimes we run and walk and other times we walk and run. Today was definitely a walk and run kind of day! The skies were grey but our moods were bright especially when we ran past the Optimist Fields and saw the Stampede Marching Band practising for the upcoming Calgary Stampede. It was really fun watching the kids play their musical Instruments, The music brightened the gloomy day and we spent some time watching the kids perform. They did a great job. Maverick ran well today and we also enjoyed spending time just walking and chatting with each other! Pee: lots. Poops: 2 healthy.

We had an earlier start to our run today. The weather was simply amazing and the pathway was nice and busy. We ran into lots of cyclists and I knew a couple of the ladies. They all wanted to give Maverick a pat on his cute little head. We discovered a new little pathway today which was a nice detour from the busier route with lots of other puppies, Maverick isn’t too interested in all the other dogs which I am completely fine with. We saw several geese out today and the youngest are growing up very quickly. It is amazing the change in two months time. Maverick did great on the run and it was wonderful to spend some time with him this morning. Pee: lots. Poop: 1 healthy.

It was such a beautiful day! We spent some time cooling off in the water and had a lovely chat with 2 student nurses walking with a resident from the seniors home. The elderly lady in the wheelchair couldn’t get over how beautiful Maverick is. We made lots of stops along the way; a great way to get out of the sun and have some chats with each other. Maverick ran really well today. He loves to find the shade and roll around. Poops: 1 Pee: lots.

We truly live in a beautiful city. The river runs magically through the hustle and bustle giving so much life and energy to our busy days. Maverick loves to go down to the river at the same spot every time. The sun was nice and warm and we once again had a wonderful run together. The last several times that Maverick and I have been out for a run, he did not have any poops. I think he made up for it on this run! Lucky for me, I only had one bag (sarcasm!) and so when he decided to go a second time I was able to wrap it up with loads of grass 😉. it just adds another fun element to the day. As always a wonderful morning with beautiful Maverick. Pees: lots Poops: 2 healthy.

We had a nice earlier run today. I wanted to be out before the rain would start. However we did have a couple of sprinkles land on us. Maverick did really well; he was running “in front” leading the pack for most of the run.. There was definitely something that was capturing his smell senses as he spent a long time sniffing the grass along the edge of the river. As always, it was a fantastic run. I always love my time with Maverick. Thank you for giving me the time to be with him. Pee: lots Poop: 0.

Maverick and I had a wonderful run today. There was a significant amount of wind but we were able to keep our heads down and continue our journey along the Bow River pathway. I had not seen Maverick in over a week and it was wonderful to reconnect again. He was running really well today and I made sure to keep a very close eye on his hips and there seemed to be no issues. Hopefully, he is still feeling well later today. I am getting a good understanding where Maverick likes to stop and sniff and where he likes to put his paws in the water. It’s a great little relationship that we have. As we were running home, we saw a girlfriend of mine and it was nice to catch up. She thought Maverick was a beautiful sweet dog. I am very biased and agreed. The pathway was busy but Maverick does a great job of staying right by my side. Thank you! Pee: lots. Poop: none.

What else can we really say about today except that it was wet and rainy, and sunshine was nowhere to be found. But we still had a great time running in the rain and we were both soaking wet when we got back. I actually think Maverick likes the rain because he knows he’s going to get the full towel massage when it’s all done. We only saw two people on the pathway today. The one thing that could be considered excitement was there was a goose that jumped out at us out of the grass. Neither one of us were expecting that but we ran right past it and all ended well. Pee: lots. Poop: 1 healthy.

We had a fabulous run today. Maverick did fantastic! I would say one of the sweetest things that we rarely see came across our path today. A mother goose with all her little goslings following behind her were crossing in front of us and Maverick sat very sweetly and patiently and waited for the family to pass by. The weather was wonderful for a run and nobody got too hot. We stopped for a little sip of water in the river and had an all-around terrific time! I did not notice any unusual behaviour from Maverick; he did wonderfully. Pee: lots. Poop: 1 healthy.

We had a fabulous walk/run today. It didn’t get too hot and we took lots of breaks. Maverick did amazing! There wasn’t too much activity happening except that the schoolkids were out on the sidewalk and they were using chalk to make drawings. They all cleared to the side to let us run through; this was super cute as Maverick started to run a little higher and a little prouder. He is such a great dog. We played on the grass and had lots of cuddles. Pee: lots. Poop: 1 healthy.

I had a terrific opportunity to chat with Maverick’s mom who was able to give me some further insight as to why Maverick is going to see the vet today. He ran great and we stopped at every shady tree to let ourselves cool down as it was a hot day today. I cannot get over how many people comment on what a beautiful dog he is ❤️. Maverick is such a fantastic friend - thank you! Pee: lots and lots. Poop: big and healthy.
