DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 21 minutes “Up for a Polar Swim Miss M?” says Huxley with a twinkle in his eyes. Marley is understanding of Huxley ‘s ‘free-spirit’. That is what makes everyone love him. Marley always encourages and partakes in a responsible fashion. True Friends for sure. There was lots of high-jumping also in today's adventure. I think that crazy wind from yesterday was the culprit for some big trees that had fallen across the pathway. I just love our Thursday walks. The Doggy Business Report: each pup had 1 poop each. Many pees for both. Runner: Michelle

MOMMA M was on duty this visit. Marley came for a visit and to help out with Rocky our AARCS pup. Rocky is full of energy and Aoife (our dog) was needing reinforcements to keep up. Momma M to the rescue. Marley’s visit did not just include keeping the pipsqueak in line, but that is a full time job. There were several pack walks and a couple that her BFF, Huxley, also joined in. Henry had absolutely no restraint in the treat department for Miss M. She had him wrapped around her paws again within 5 minutes of walking in the door.🤦🏼♀️ There is a picture of Marley & Aoife on the couch. This was resting Wednesday, when the “Sisters" got to get much R’nR’ in while Rocky was at the Vet's. Aoife howls with delight when she knows her “Sister” is at the front door. Thank you for all of your help Momma M, Rocky was jumping up and scratching at the door when he realized your had left, without him!! Here is hoping we have many more visits together in 2021.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 9.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 51 minutes New Year - New Route - New & Old Friends. Happy 2021 Huxley, we are kicking off our 6th year of running together. Since there are 2 special guests at my house, I thought it was time to show Hux Pup my favourite local run. It was just the two of us running to start.... and then, the PACK was formed. Miss Marley is our guest for a few days and Huxley met Rocky our AARCS pup. The pack was pretty happy to be hanging out; walking in the sun. Bring on 2021! The Doggy Business Report: Huxley had lots of pees and 1 poop. Miss Marley has several pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 3.3 km DURATION:1 hour 12 minutes Momma Marley, we need you!! Today was a special trip for our AARCS foster pup, Zeppie (Zeppelin). He got the honours of tagging along with Momma Marley and Aoife today. The weather was chilly and when we first started I could tell Marley’s front shoulder was a tad stiff. We decided to just keep a nice pace, no power walking today. I think if you asked Zeppie - he thought it was a power walk🤣🐾. The gang did well and Zeppie was not going to be left behind. No worries Momma Marley was there to check on him lots.💕 The Doggy Business Report: Marley had 1 poop and a few pees. Runner: Michelle Aoife’s older sister came to stay with us for a playdate & sleepover. You maybe scratching your head wondering how are these two gals related? Well, Miss Marley’s Mom was Aoife’s second motherly figure when she was just a baby. Ever since, these two gals met face-to-face, they have been inseparable. I am sure Marley would not mind a bit more actual physical distance when around Aoife. Aoife has a tendency to live up close and personal with Marley. This visit Marley brought her elephant & monkey-stuffed toy. Just like two sisters, these two have the exact same toys. They do share really well. The walk today at Nosehill was very typical of how these two are “inseparable”. Miss M, we have missed you dearly. Fingers crossed you can stay a bit longer for your next visit.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 9.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 55 minutes The young kids have a PE Day and the Canine Kids had a PP Day. Pup Play Day. I picked up Miss Marley early this morning and we gals went over to Kenny & Sully’s. A quick stroll for Kenny and then the pups got ready for some fun. Sully, Aoife and I ran over to Nosehill. Marley hitched a ride with Henry. The pups were so happy to be reunited. The sun was shining and tails wagging. Sully would have done at least an additional 4-5 kilometres. He kept running back and forth between all of us girls. Aoife was wanting to hitch a ride home but Sully convinced her that running back home would be better. I could see the smile on Marley’s face as she passed us in the truck. After an afternoon snack, I think there will be a nap. The Doggy Business Report: Sully had 1 poop and many pees. Miss Marley had several pees but no poops. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #9 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 19 minutes PEACEFUL🙏That is how Marley & Huxley’s walk was this afternoon. The temperature was +24/25• and Miss M took a dip in every available water spot. You gotta love Marley’s approach. Enter the water gracefully and then plop, sits in the water and smile. Huxley goes exploring every time and comes running back with a big smile. I know he is sharing what he saw. We stroll along with no noise, no vehicles and just enjoy nature and each other. I will pick you guys up next week. ️The Doggy Business Report: multiple pees for each pooch. Both Marley & Huxley had 1 poop each. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 4.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 11 minutes M. H. & M. are enjoying the end of summer and the perfect temperatures. Today at Griffith Woods it was like it was still summer. It was really busy. People, kids, dogs, cyclists and bird watchers were all out. No one was enjoying the water ‼️ Marley and Huxley could not figure this out. ”Look how refreshing the water is🐾.” I guess we humans become real wimps when the temperature drops below +30. 🤣 The Doggy Business Report: several peeps for both pups. Miss Marley had 1 poop. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 7 minutes I'm Back!! Miss Marley - our Thursdays are getting back to normal. Hux Pup is having some tummy troubles today, so it is just you & me. Our Thursday Universe has truly missed you. I understand you have faithfully been keeping up with your exercise. I made sure to put my ’super fast’ walking sneakers on. Marley was willing to take one for the team and make sure Huxley’s treats did not go to waste. Haha Miss M, don't you ever change. The Doggy Business Report: several pees and a healthy poop. Runner: Michelle Hip Hip Hurray! Marley came back for a stay. Aoife thinks of Marley as her ‘Big Sister’ . I better rephrase that!! She thinks of her as her ‘Older Sister.’ Wink wink. Aoife was so excited and waited patiently for Marley's arrival on Wednesday the 15th. Marley’s social calendar was full full full. She had a few outings with her BFF, Huxley. Plus a couple walks with one of her younger gal pals, Lola. Lola likes to think of Marley as “Momma Marley’. She also got to have a walk with Sully, who she really likes. I think he actually has a crush on this mature gal. Then Oliver came yesterday and she has not seen him since January. It was a relaxing Sunday for Marley because Oliver entertained Aoife and Marley could just sun tan and relax in the garden after a hot long walk. Your second family loves loves loves having you. I know for sure you were missed by your #1 family. I can guarantee extra morning coffee cuddles coming your way from your #1 humans. But wait…..rest up because the gang will be back to pick you up on Thursday. Xo Xo Xo.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 5 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes This gang has not been together since January. Without missing a beat, Lola saw Oliver in the parking lot and knew it was him right away. Aoife and Oliver had been playing hard the hour before so now everyone was on the same energy level. Lola & Marley always walk together while Oliver & Aoife chased each other at Nosehill. After that heat, it was time to leave and reward ourselves with ice-cold water, dried liver treats and a Starbucks. I will let you all figure out who had what🤣. It was a ’Poop-Free’ Sunday. The Doggy Business Report: Lola had 2 pees, Marley had several and Oliver lots. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 53 minutes Huxley DISTANCE: 4.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes Marley B. Wowza!! That is some humidity. It zapped the ’zip’ out of my fur friends today. I have always been a matchmaker. My family shudders when I do this. Hux Pup, Aoife and myself came upon a lady walking two identical dogs. This was on our way to meet Marley. I stopped, the lady stopped and all 4 dogs just stopped and stared at each other. This lady's two dogs look exactly like what Hux & Aoife’s puppies would look like. This lady said she was thinking the exact thing. Then after that little deja-vu, we came upon a cat running with his/her human. Huxley do you think Oskar & Pinky would like to join us? (Note Oskar & Pinkie are the felines in Huxley’s family). After all the excitement, we hit the parking lot and did a quick sniff while waiting for Marley to arrive. Marley jumped out of Henry’s truck with such a smile on her face. Aoife went running up to her because it had been 40 minutes since she last saw her. An absolute eternity! I have to label our coulee visit more of a saunter. Lots of water breaks and not much speed. The Fun & Happiness Meter was reading pretty high🤩. Humidity will not dampen these dogs’ spirits. The Doggy Business Report: Huxley had 1 poop and 16 pees. Marley had 5 pees an 1 poop. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #10 ![]() DISTANCE: 3.1 km DURATION: 54 minutes Since Miss Marley is staying at my home for a couple of days, she just had to get a Tuesday Huxley Fix. These two are like Salt & Pepper. They just are a pair. We headed to a new area in Nosehill and the wild roses are out in full bloom. Both Marley & Huxley like to walk amongst these bushes. I guess Marley did not get enough Hux Pup time because when I dropped Huxley off at his home, she jumped out too. Marley went up to the front door. Sorry sweetheart, back to my place🤣. The Doggy Business Report: both pups had 1 poop each and a few pees each. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.3 km DURATION: 1 hour Girl Girl Girl Time. Nothing like spending a Saturday with your girlfriends. Lola, Marley and Aoife went on a workout at Nosehill; skipping up the hills. The wildflowers are out and in full bloom. The gals liked the fragrance. There was no lolly-gagging today. The heart rate remained in the zone. At the end was a bit of free-flying, ears flapping and tongues dangling. You gals did awesome - cutting 20 minutes off our last visit to Nosehill. AND still covering the same distance. Time for some girl talk, cold fresh libations and snacks (treats) at Michelle’s. The Doggy Business Report: a few pees for each gal. Only Lola had 1 poop.. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 6.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 21 minutes Howdy Sully! Are you ready to hang out with the girls on this trip? I always know Sully (and Kenny too) B-Line straight for the Jeep. I was not going to disappoint Sully, so we went for a car ride first. Miss Marley is staying at my place so back we went to get the girls. It was rather humid after last night's storm! The Fur Kids had lots of fun running around and leaping through the grass. If one dog pees - the other two have to pee in the same spot. If someone catches the whiff of a tantalizing scent, they all squeeze their bodies together to get the smell. Friends these 3 are for sure. Different ages, sizes and colouring. No problem, they have great adventures. 🐾 The Doggy Business Report: Sully had 1 poop and many many pees. Marley had 1 poop and several pees. Runner: Michelle |
