Happy Monday Lincoln! A complete turn-around from our Friday outing as the sun is shining bright, and the thermostat is reading 17°C at 9:30am... not ideal for this furry Belgian Shepherd. Our runs become shorter as the heat goes up. Linc and the heat just don't mix. We dipped into the Douglas Fir Trail for a bit, but it was a high dog traffic place today so we had to get back to pavement. Linc started slowing down around the 40-minute mark so I turned us towards home. A nice cool roll in the grass is Linc's favourite way to end a summer-like run. Stay cool this week buddy. See you next time! The Dog Business: 1 poop, 3 pees.

Such an amazing day today! When we took off there were a little breeze too and it felt so nice!! Linc was so ready to go when I picked him up! He had so much fun running, sniffing tall grass, chasing squirrels, rolling in the grass and just enjoying the endorphins running thru the body! We had to wait and detour a few times but we made that into a water and picture break! When we got back, he had a drink of water and came back toward the door again like " ok, I'm ready to go again!"😊😂 Sweet Linc!! 1 poop, 4 pees.

Lincoln is definitely one of my favourite day-time running partners. You always know what to expect with this dog. Besides his need to jump on bikes, all went well today. We headed into South Edworthy Park, enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful views of downtown Calgary. We did it all today - pavement, hills, trail, stairs.... A variety of activity to use up Lincoln’s energy. A pesky Rabbit, was tormenting my running partner for the last chunk of our outing. Hiding behind trees, showing up again! I thought he was gone and he would appear again. The end of our run was a lot slower because this German Shepherd need some shady grass breaks, and we took them. Always a pleasure Lincoln! Can’t wait until next time. 2 poops, 5 pees.

It it wasn't the most pleasant run but Linc still enjoyed getting out! If it wasn't for the wind with the rain, I think it would have been better but still it was so great to get some exercise and fresh air!!! The good thing about rainy runs is not many other dogs out! Lol We ran by the police department and Linc made sure to behave very well in front of the policemen! 🤣😉 I wish I could shake off the wetness like pups do it instead of having to change! LOL! We both enjoyed how clear and fresh the air was from the rain! I am glad we got out today and am feeling energized! 1 poop, 5 pees.

What a glorious day! It was sunny but breezy; just perfect for a morning run!! Linc was too cute today! When he saw shade under a tree, he would lay down and look at me like " treat first then we kept moving🤣❤." We took water breaks. He is so adorable when drinking from a water bottle! What a skill!! Not many dogs out to my surprise so we didn't need to detour but I did say a prayer that other pups go the other direction! I guess it works! Lol! Linc really enjoyed the little trail detour with it shade and nice tall grass! It is very beautiful now with all the green and the lilacs are in full bloom! It's always so refreshing to spend my morning with Linc. His energetic, cute, full of life spirit is contagious! I feel blessed! 1 poop and 5 pees today! P.S. my phone didn't charge last night (something with my outlet at home) so only half of the run recorded. The photos are from my smart watch report attached.

Happy Monday Lincoln! I feel like we basically skipped Spring this year. No chance to enjoy warm but mild temperatures with the clean, crisp smell of newness - nope, we are already hot by 9 a.m., with smoke in the air. Today's run was also a rude reminder for me about altitude - I spent the weekend at sea level so it felt like I was gasping for the slightly smoky air! Summer running also means slower and shorter runs with Linc, his beautiful coat is great for cold, not so great for heat. With some breaks today we still managed a good distance, just a bit slower than usual - check out the photos for how Linc likes to cool down mid run!! Summer running also means there are more dogs out earlier in the day, so vigilance and awareness is key with Linc. The more dogs I see first and take preventative action, the better for everyone! Thanks for the run buddy, See you soon! The Dog Business: 1 poop, 4 pees.

It was such a pleasure to meet Lincoln today! What a handsome boy! We took it easy today and did really short run/walk intervals so that Lincoln could burn off some energy but not stress his lungs to much. He is so smart; he seemed to read my mind for our intervals and direction choices. I enjoyed exploring his neighbourhood with him and even though it was PACKED with squirrels, he was a total gentleman on the leash and didn't once pull! We visited a mini library for a photo with Lincoln, stopped to roll on some grass, and enjoyed the sights of all the blooming flowers! Hopefully, the weather will be better next time we run together so we can actually smell the flowers! I hope our short little jaunt was as enjoyable for Lincoln as it was for me! Thanks handsome! 1 poop and literally over a dozen pees/marks.

What a gorgeous day and everything is blooming! Linc was really into chewing the grass when we first took off for our run, and of course there is lots of it now! Then, we had a nice run! It's just so beautiful now with everything blooming; flowers on trees and the grass so green! It feels so great to run and look around, smell flowers, and enjoy the warmth of the sun! Finally, summer is here! Yeah! Linc enjoyed some water from my water bottle. He is so cute ! 2 poops, 4 pees.

Happy Monday Lincoln! Calgary is such a beautiful city, we are lucky to have so many beautiful places to run with beautiful views. The skyline is an especially nice view and lucky for us it is within running distance of your house. Linc and I set out for Broadcast Hill on this gorgeous morning. An uphill climb to get there made the view even more worth the effort! Maybe I'm being biased, but as we sat overlooking the downtown with the CTV building behind us, I couldn't help but think how Linc is a made for TV dog! He is so handsome! Those pointy ears, silky, thick coat and movie star smile would make him an ideal candidate for a revamp of Lassie! We had some fun exploring new pathways in Patterson, and I already have our next run route planned in my mind! See you next time buddy!! Dog business: 1 poop, 3 pees.

Happy Friday Lincoln! The nice weather has finally arrived, for now, so let's take full advantage of it! This is the first run of 2019 that I have only worn a t-shirt, Lincoln is stuck in his thick fur for life, so we did take a couple shade breaks... one behind a van secretly hoping Lincoln wouldn't spot the dog on the other side of the street!! My ploy worked and we continued on our way, crossing the street when necessary to avoid everyone taking advantage of the weather. The last block of our run took us right past St. Michael's School, and it was recess time. A group of kids spotted Linc, and decided to run along the fence with us. Linc was overjoyed to indulge the kids in a game of chase; resulting in delighted squeals from the kids. Alas, the fence only goes so far and we rounded the corner leaving Linc's admirers behind. A roll in the grass and a treat before we went inside and said goodbye for the weekend. See you Monday buddy! The Dog Business: 1 poop, 3 pees.

Linc was so excited to go! He had a hard time staying still to even let me put his leash on him!!😉😂 We had such a great time in this warm weather! He enjoyed some grass on the way and sniffing all kinds of fragrances now that it actually feels like spring! We had a good pace and such an amazing outing! 1 poop, 4 pees.

Note to self! Don’t do a wet slippery trail in street shoes! It was an interesting, comical event today with Lincoln! I almost had to call STARS or Ruth for a rescue mission. It was slippery on Douglas Fir Trail! We were wiping out one after another. It was fun, but messy! Good thing Lincoln was a good sport and let me take my time on parts of it. When I saw the pavement, I was so thankful, but that was boring right boy! Back on the trail we went. This dog has a ton of energy and easily can manage a longer run, so I wasn’t worried about his energy running out, just mine!😉 Stay warm. Hopefully, you're not too dirty for your grandma! 2 poops, 18 pees.

While today’s run with Lincoln was not without obstacles, Lincoln’s big grin today after a joyful reunion made it more than worth it. I was a little worried about how today’s run would go, as I’ve been having some foot problems, but despite the pain we still managed to go 8km; thanks to Lincoln encouraging me along. We also hit a little hiccup as a dog escaped from its house and decided it would try to follow us along, much to Lincoln’s disapproval. Lincoln acted as nicely as he possible could, and the dog's owner drove by before anything could happen. So despite some setbacks, we had a great run which included plenty of belly rubs, treats, and even a stop in to visit my mom at her new job so that she could have a little reunion with Lincoln. So nice to see you again! The scoop: 2 poos and many pees.

Happy Monday Lincoln! What a beautiful morning it is for a run. Nothing but good things can happen today! To my knowledge, our run today was fantastic. We ducked into Kensington and just as we popped out onto 14th Street there was an adorable sign - see photo - and the lady who lived at this house popped her head out to say what a cute photo Lincoln was taking. Heading back home was great. Lincoln behaved really well on the highly traveled Bow River pathway, and even ignored the bikes we encountered! We came to a stop at the corner of Lincoln's street and walked home. This is when it became SOS Monday... I accidentally triggered the SOS button on my phone right as Linc and I left. Not only was my boyfriend waiting in his car outside Lincoln's house, but I had 6 missed calls from my mom! Lincoln was eager to investigate this man in the car as I called my mom to let her know I was okay. It's nice to know they care, and that the SOS feature actually works! Great run today Linc. See you Friday! The Scoop: 1 poop, 3 pees.
