Kona had just as much interest in running today as yesterday! She laid down in the grass before we had even left the cul de sac, & wanted lots of love & pets, and to smell everything! We found what looked like a really nice pathway but by the time we got there, we had to turn around, so next time we will check it out! Our journey back was much faster though, so Kona got to play a little with the neighbours dog Grizz. You gotta love it when you have friendly neighbours! Winter on the other hand had sssooo much enthusiasm, as per usual. We had a quick little sprint down the block and then walked around the park. I let these two have a little more yard time again at the end. They are SO FUNNY playing together. When I left they both looked pretty tired, and happy (I hope!!). The Scoop: 5 pees, 1 poo.
DISTANCE: 5.0 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes
Kona's interest in running today was very minimal, there were ssoooo many distractions! I imagine it was still quite hot for a big black dog too, even though it was a perfect temp for me! Someone left a little accident on the mat at the back door, I cleaned it up as bestI could but left the mat outside. Kona peed and pooped in the yard before and after our run. It was great to see these two again! They had a lot of beans left so I let them played in the yard for a bit before I left.

Kona saw a clear pathway and was ready to venture out today. Winter was highly motivated with a treat to sit pretty for the perfect picture! Lol. It was such a nice day with these girls. The weather wasn’t too hot or pouring outside, so everyone was out enjoying the day. The Scoop: both dogs had a few pees but neither dog had a poop.

Kona was a lovely girl just cruising around the neighbourhood, sniffing and watering all the trees! She was in the mood for an easy jog/walk today and would stop me when it came time for a break. Winter was just excited to be out for a walk and couldn’t wait to put her harness on before dashing outside. The Scoop: a few pee breaks for both, no poop breaks for Kona but one poop for Winter.
DISTANCE: 6.13 km DURATION: 54:59
I missed running these girls. I was greeted with excitement and enthusiasm this morning. Winter was the first to head out the door and was full of endless energy and spunk. The weather seems to agree with her a bit more then the high temperatures of recent past. We ran our usual route to the pond and back in record time. Next was my loving giant Kona. Kona was way more interested in cuddles today than running. We still managed to sprint a few minutes in between each snuggle. The Scoop: Winter had 2 pees and 1 poop. Kona had no pees or poops.
DISTANCE: 3.48 km DURATION: 45:30
I had a wonderful run/walk with Kona and Winter this afternoon, and they are ooh so cute! They are both such well behaved doggos. It was hot today so little Winter needed lots of breaks every time we hit the shade. It was an absolute pleasure meeting these two today!
DISTANCE: 7 km DURATION: 1 hour
Today we took it easy. Kona was very inquisitive as we walked our way around the neighbourhood – she kept stopping to sniff everything and laid down a few times in the shade to cool down.
Winter is always happy to see her sister, when we return. She greets her as if she hasn’t seen her for about a week. Winter was next. She cant seem to contain herself with excitement and is always eager to head out the door. Since both dogs hadn’t pooped or peed I let them out in the backyard – but they didn’t seem too bothered and wanted to stay in the cool of the houseBoth Winter and Kona didn’t do a pee or poo today.

Today was a hot one. It was super nice to see Kona and Winter today after my vacation. I think Winter was really happy to see me as she jumped all over me when I arrived today, I took Kona out first. It must have been hot as she kept wanting to stop and lay down in the shade. Winter did the same thing as well. She actually found a parked car and wanted to lie down under it; silly girl! Winter had 1 pee. Kona had a pee and a poop.

Hot is the first word that comes to mind to describe today’s run. Kona was first out the door and raring to go. We ran for a short period before the incredible heat hit this black beauty and we slowed right down to do a bit more sniffing and neighbourhood supervision. After returning to the house and filling the water bowls to the top, it was Winter’s turn. Winter has so much spunk and energy even with the heat she pushes my pace. After approximately 15 minutes though, she decided that shade was going to be a comfortable option. We ran between each cool shady grass plot. It was such a pleasure running with these 2 puppies! Puppy water bottle: Kona 1 bottle and Winter 1/2 bottle
The Scoop Report: Kona had 1 pee, no poo, Winter had 1 pee and 1 soft poop.

Hello Winter and Kona! I came through the door to two very excited girls eager to get outside. After a quick kitchen floor clean-up, we leashed up Kona first and took to the streets. It is very hot this afternoon but Kona jogged very well today keeping me to a good pace and taking her signature cuddle breaks every so often. How I love this gentle giant!! After our loop of the neighbourhood, we headed back for Winter’s turn. I couldn’t find Winter’s running harness so we used the collar she was wearing. We thought it would be best to stick to the route we knew and stay on shady side of the street. Winter enjoyed every shady cool grass spot and 2 sprinklers on our run today. The Scoop: Kona had 1 pee, no poo, Winter had 1 pee and 2 soft poops.

Having three lovely sons is wonderful but there are times I also enjoy girl time so it was a pleasure to go on an outing with Kona, Winter and prospective runner Brenda. Winter got her turn first so we took her out towards the wetlands and she sure was peppy. Brenda and I both made sure to give her lots of love as she and Kona lost their fur sibling Ruby recently due to old age. Kona waited patiently and then we took her out. The sun was heating up and Kona's black fur did not help things. We decided to go at a brisk walk which enabled Kona to give us her signature walk and snuggle moves. Back home, the girls also got some playtime in the backyard. It is so much fun to watch these two play; especially in light of the size difference. Thanks to Brenda for joining this girl party. The Scoop: 1 poop & 4 pees for Winter. Kona had 1 pee and 1 backyard poo. I also like the photo of the girls sharing water. They sure were thirsty!

Yesterday, as I drove away from my run with Kona and Winter, I saw a bumper sticker that read, "I like big mutts and I cannot lie." I am partial to big dogs so was glad to see Great Dane Kona again. That said, Ruby and Winter are super cute! Winter got to go for her run first and she was in a playful and speedy mood so I took photos of her by hopscotch and a Pokemon character. Kona then got a turn but the humidity meant it was slower and shorter. Both pups got some backyard play with Ruby too. The Scoop: 2 poops, 1 pee for Winter. Ruby had 1 pee. Kona had 1 poop and 1 pee. These pups are very affectionate so loved the cuddles and belly rubs too!

With Kona and Winter's regular DGR Runner (April) on holidays, I got to be the Lucky Duck to take these pups out for their runs this week. Once I located their house, I took them and their sister Ruby (Boston Terrier) for a quick backyard pee. Kona was first out the door for her run and we went down to the wetlands. I did not see the No Dogs sign at first so Kona got a quick treat in seeing a duck on the boardwalk. It was a gorgeous setting but unfortunately a one time only outing there as I now know I can't take her back. I really enjoyed our combination of sprint, walk and what I call cuddle walk where Kona walks and rubs her head against me. What a Love Bug! She also said hello to a guy in a cowboy hat who must have been going to Stampede. Winter got her turn next and right out of the gates, she sprinted behind some kids on scooters. She was a little firecracker. She also was in the Stampede spirit and posed nicely next to a Yahoo sign. The Scoop: Kona had 2 pees. Ruby had 1 pee. Winter had 1 poo and 1 pee. See you gals tomorrow!

It was awesome to run Kona again and to finally meet Ruby! I was greeted by quite the surprise today when the security alarm went off! I let the dogs out while I dealt with that and then Kona and I went for our run! She definitely knows her limits. Whenever she needed a walking break, she'd push her head down and slow right down. The neighborhood is especially quiet now that school is out for the summer, so there were fewer distractions around. But whenever we passed some kids or a dog barking, Kona would slow down a bit to check it out. She also REALLY wanted lots of pets and scratches today. She must have had her head pressed against my side for nearly half our run! I thought we might get up to a farther distance since Winter was nowhere to be found, and we could use the whole time for our run! But, like I said, Kona knows her limits and definitely slowed down for the last 20 minutes or so. The scoop: nothing for Kona, 2 pees for Ruby.

It is fantastic to meet you Kona. You are a beauty! Kona greeted me with a happy wagging tail and even some kisses. The first job before we venture out is a pee break for Ruby. Kona showed me to the back door and Ruby followed. I filled the water dishes up so fresh water was waiting for our return. I just love big dogs, and Great Danes steal my heart ❤️. This genteel girl strolled beside me just like she was floating on air. Every so often she would give me a nudge to cuddle her. Being that the temperature was at 24 degrees and this beauty is all black, we took it at a jog. Kona was very comfortable with the doggy Gulpy bottle. When we arrived home, we tried Ruby at another pee break. Nope, she was happy in her bed. I hope to see you again Kona. Maybe next time I will meet Puppy Winter. The Doggy Business Report: 1 soft poop & 1 pee. Two full Gulpy bottles.
