Remember that song, Lean on Me?....well today was Kona’s day where she needed a bit of coaxing to go for a run! I told her she could lean on me and she literally did! 🐶 She was like dead weight when she leaned in!🤣 We ran, jogged, and walked around the neighborhood taking in the warm day and all the great energy! Winter was her usual happy self today, full of great energy! Is it even possible for her to have a hum-drum day? I don’t think so!😂. The Scoop: a few grass watering from Kona but no poop. Winter had a few pees too and one poop! Way to go girls. I am looking forward to seeing you again soon😘.

Makings friends comes easily for Kona. Today, we found some squirrels, birds building nests, and geese leisurely swimming on a chill Monday afternoon. In fact, people stopped us everywhere we went to greet Kona. I felt like I was hanging out with a celebrity! 😎My favourite picture is the one where Winter and Kona are playing in the yard - they really love each other! Winter was so happy to go for a run. She barely allowed me to put my shoes on! 😂. The scoop: lots of pees for both but no poops today.

Tuesday is the day to make new friends! This included my new pals, Kona and Winter. These two couldn't be more different in size and I LOVE it. It was our first time running together, but Kona and I really clicked. Her size may be intimidating to some, but she really is a gentle giant. Kona's graceful and long stride is such a treat to run next to, maybe because our legs are the same length? I think Kona may be the most popular dog in the neighbourhood because so many people stopped to admire and pet her. And sweet little Winter was up next! This little darling has so much energy and pep, but she is also a great listener. Every time we stopped at a crosswalk, she sat patiently and waited for her cue, but it was her bounding energy that got us to finish line. It was lovely meeting you two and I hope we get to run and walk together again sometime soon. Kona's Scoop: 0 poo, 1 pee. Winter's Scoop: 1 poo, 2 pees.

As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with such friendly smiles and tail wags that told me just how happy Kona and Winter were for their run today! It was such a great day for sightseeing in the neighborhood and watching children play! These girls are such fun! The scoop: nothing from neither of them today😞.

Today I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Kona, Winter, and Ruby! I couldn't stop laughing at the size of Kona. She's over half as tall as me! Luckily she's a great girl and we had a super chill run around her neighbourhood. She kept stopping for snuggles and pets. I think most of her snuggles were her trying to scrape the Haltie off but I didn't care! Sometimes you just need a hug from a great Dane! When we got back to the house, I let all three outside to get some of the craziness out before trying to leash Winter. Oh my goodness what a little cutie!! She is so busy! I think her little face must be the tiredest party of her body right now because of all the smiling! We had a super fun little walk where we went up and down some rocks, sniffed some swings, tried many times to take a selfie, and learned that when you get REALLY tangled up in the leash, you get picked up to get out of it! I absolutely love how Winter plays with lovely Kona. I could have watched them all day. Ruby is super sweet too! She got lots of pets from me, and more attention than she wanted from Winter! Poor girl! I had a total blast and hope all three did too! Thanks for the afternoon girls! Kona had 1 pee, no poop. Winter moved too fast to pee, no poop. Ruby had neither, but enjoyed the fresh air.

Hi guys, I made it!! Went to the wrong house, punched in the wrong code in the door, and told the very confused lady that I was the dog runner...there were no dogs in this house. Whoops! Dyslexia! But here I am and am most definitely at the right place. Kona, you gentle giant. I am in love already! She is such a sweetheart and a wonderful big (massive) sister to little Ruby. First off, Kona and I took to the streets of Bridlewood. Wow, has it ever changed over the years! Growing up in Sundance, I remember GCA, the Christian Academy in behind Kona's house used to be out in the middle of nowhere. I use to joke saying I had basketball practice in the country, not so country anymore! Kona led me through Bridlewood then into Evergreen with plenty of stops for some loves along the way. I don't think I have ever met a Great Dane, but she sure has set that bar high. I know she would have been entirely content just hanging out at home while I gave her a few pats for an hour, but the fresh air really did us both some good. Next up was sweet, Winter, what a wild one! It's been 15 years since I've had a puppy, I forgot how much fun they are, and all over the place, I may add. I struggled to get a photo. Winter is very good at sitting but, long enough time for a picture was another challenge. Finally, we got it! Thanks for great afternoon guys! The cutest factor in that house is through the roof! Hope to see you again soon. The scoop: Kona: 1 pee, Winter: 1 pee. Ruby: 1 pee.

It was my first time meeting the Three Love Bugs today and what a treat! Kona is such a gentle girl; she jogged beside me and always checked in with me to make sure we were on track. At one point, Kona stopped dead in her tracks, nudged me as if saying “where are all the kids today, the park is empty?!” Winter has so much joyful energy. She’s the kinda girl just “lovin’ life”! Then Miss Ruby! Oh she’s adorable! When I first walked in all three girls were happy to see me and talking up a storm! We played in the yard chasing toys, leaves, and munching on bones. The scoop: lots of pees for everyone and 1 poop for Winter! Thanks for such a warm welcome Ladies, I’m excited to see you again soon😘🐶🐶🐶.

Ruby is in the house! What a gem she is. At first I couldn’t find her, I think I woke all of them from an afternoon nap. Kona met me at the door but there were no sounds from Ruby or Winter, then Miss Ruby popped out. We did two backyard play sessions today to make up for my late arrival. Winter was so high energy today and Kona was so low energy. Kona, was chill and relaxed; sniffing her little heart out. She didn’t have a care in the world to move forward... she was as cool as a cucumber. Thanks for the afternoon event. Kona had 1 pee, Winter had 3 pees, and I am not sure about Ruby.

Everyone was so excited to say "hi" today! Kona and I enjoyed a nice jog through the neighbourhood. Sniff breaks here and there. Kona ran beautifully and got to meet a friendly Corgi today!! We both loved the warm weather!! Winter and I had a very fun walk. She was very happy to be out exploring, smelling, and watching everything around her. Winter also loved the warm weather! Once Kona and Winter had their run and walks, we all went in the backyard with Ruby to play around a bit. Scoop: all 3 had one pee and one poop for Winter.

Well, I have been looking forward to meeting Kona and her little siblings, Winter and Ruby for a while now. When I laid eyes on her my first thought was "Black Beauty". I haven't spent much time around Great Danes before, and she really is so very tall! That wasn't the only horse reference from our time together. The fabulously warm weather is definitely unearthing some stable-like smells. And watching Kona run reminds me of watching an elegant horse's trot (or is it a canter??) Finally, Kona is very lovely on leash, and never pulls. But rounding the corner towards home, she definitely felt the "barnyard door" syndrome and picked up the pace a bit. But with her black, shiny coat, and the warm sun, I told her "Whoa there, let's give ourselves a cool-down." To which she ate some snow to show her agreement. Then it was little Winter's turn. Also an apt sentence because there really is very little winter out there today! This little one is cute as a button, and full of puppy energy! I had just as much fun on our short little walk as I've had on any other of my full hour dog runs! Thanks Kona and Winter! It was a pleasure meeting you (and your human "mom") today! Scoop: only Kona had one pee today.

Holy Moly Kona is one big Dog... also one sweetheart. Ruby, Winter and Kona are all so adorable together, I don’t even think Kona realizes how much larger she is than them. First we started off with a backyard potty break, for everyone. Then Winter and I went for a stroll down the street, with the ice melting Winter went for a swim, or got a doggy soaker! Either way Winter seemed to enjoy it... next up Kona, I was nervous to run Kona, wondering if I could do it, but it was no problem at all! Until she stopped! When Kona stops we both stop, I really don’t have a choice in the matter. Kona loves the birds, and trees, sniffing and looking around. Great to meet this gang! Enjoy your Tuesday. Kona 1 pee. Winter 1 pee. Ruby: not sure.

It was another beautiful afternoon, so Winter and I started off with an exciting run down the block. We met a lady waiting for her bus who really wanted to say "hi" to Winter. Who could possibly resist this cutie? Kona and I went the opposite direction today. We crossed paths with a Terrier that Kona really wanted to see. The owner was friendly so we approached but Kona went toward the other dog with this playful chomping motion so I pulled her back. It wasn’t aggressive but it spooked the small dog, so the owner pet Kona instead and was amazed with her size! We soaked up as much sun as possible. Once we made it home, I gave Winter another break from her kennel and let the two small dogs outside. Kona and Winter played for a minute (which is the cutest thing to watch), before I put her back before heading out. The scoop: a pee and poo for all three.

It warmed up a lot this afternoon, and was nice enough to take little Winter (the cutest and most excited puppy ever!) for a short walk around the block before Kona and I headed out. I almost wanted to carry Winter along with us because she is so adorable and lovable. I wanted to spend more time with her! Kona wanted to visit all of the dogs today. Unfortunately, most of them were about the size of her head and the owners would likely be reluctant to introduce them even though Kona is as laid back as could be! We did a big loop around the community with a couple short jogs when my knee was feeling good enough to pick up the pace. Once back at home, I let the two little ones out in the back, and visited with Winter some more before I had to run and catch the bus. Looks like I’ll be seeing you all again tomorrow! The scoop: a pee for all three.

I was excited to find out I would be walking my first Great Dane today! I have walked some massive dogs with the Calgary Humane Society before but never a Great Dane. She was everything I expected and more! Reminded me of one of my aunt’s horses! I couldn’t believe the size of her coat! It was bigger than mine! Her new little puppy friend, Winter was super cute and excited to see me. Watching those two briefly play together was hilarious! I wasn’t sure if I had Kona’s Halti on properly at the start and she was walking very well so I took it off. She did okay for about 15 minutes until something I couldn’t see or hear seemed to catch her attention and she start getting a bit pully so I put it back on her and this seemed to help for the rest of our walk. My knee was really bugging me and as I hobbled along next to her I kept thinking it would sure be nice to hop on and ride her like a pony and give myself a break! I probably could have as I’m not that big but she’d probably think I was crazy if I tried! It was great meeting you Kona and Winter! See you next week! Both dogs had a pee, no poos.

I half expected a little stranger danger from these three today but I was wrong.😊 Kona, Winter, and Ruby greeted me like we’d been buddies for a long time. Don’t say it, I know it has something to do with my pouch full of meaty treats, but I also like to think these ladies have good taste!😂 It took me about a millisecond to fall for these three lovelies. I followed Kona today. She knows the area better than I do. We ran, walked, and sprinted (I did) our way through the hood. Kona was in full gallop a few times and I was laughing because I’m not that fast! Thank goodness, these bursts of energy didn’t last long!😳😆 She also liked to stop for some hugs every once in a while, WHAT A SWEETIE! We eventually made our way back to the abode. I let the two pint-sized pooches out to party in the backyard, Kona went too, before saying adieu. Thanks for a fantastic outing today Kona! Your an absolute doll! No bathroom breaks today. Cheers!
