DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 3.2 km DURATION: 34 minutes Everything is so much harder in the cold! Koda was a very good girl getting all bundled up to go outside and only jumped up twice. Thankfully, she pooped quickly on the run which made me notice that we had lost both back booties, so we backtracked and found them right away. When we were about to turn back a loud scary truck went passed and Koda slipped out of her harness. Thankfully the clip on the collar was the backup to keep her attached, I tried to adjust it smaller but it was hard to do outside with cold fingers so check it before you use it again. Thanks Koda! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes Koda is such a lovely running partner! She's happy to follow me on all the loops and zigzags as we learn the new communities. For a small girl, she takes the longest pee's, Haha! It was quite windy and at one point a plastic cup came shooting along the sidewalk at us and she pounced on it like a cat - it was really funny! Thanks Koda! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes It was a great first run with Koda today! She was very well behaved and loved my spinach/chicken treats. I'd say she had instant connection with me, but I suspect the cookies had something to do with it. Haha. It seemed to be about 10 degrees cooler running on the shaded side of the roads so we tried to stay in the sun as much as possible. It was a good thing she had her booties on because there was a lot of ice in some spots. Thanks Koda! The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 4.4 km DURATION: 33 minutes There is nothing better than meeting a new doggy friend! Introducing Koda; a Husky/Rottweiler X who loves to run. I met up with fellow DGR Runner Jessica and we took Koda out for a 30-minute spin. She led the way and we navigated our way through a nearby hood. We made good time considering we were navigating our way through ice, slush and traffic. I think next time we will look a quieter setting. Koda was a lovely training partner and good at following cues. Those sweet eyes easily can make one's heart melt. It will be fun to see how she enjoys her full hour adventure. The run ended with a treat and some pets. Her brother Bear also got some TLC. Have a lovely weekend. The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runners: Ruth and Jessica |
