DGR RUN OF THE DAY # 2
DISTANCE: 6.6 km DURATION: 60 minutes
Kenny and Sully greeted me from the window as I walked up to the house. Kenny was up first. He and I had a pleasant stroll around the block. The sun was brightly shining in the sky, and the snow reflected its light, which made me have to squint when I looked up or down. On the way back, Kenny slowed down a bit, so we just took our time for the last block or two. Sully and I started off with a fast run and I quickly heated up in all my layers. Sully was filled with joy to be outside. I think it was because he can always do his favourite activity in the winter weather: penguin sliding. He slid in the alley, he slid on the road, and he slid on the sidewalk. Great job today boys! The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poo.
We had a fun few days with regular runs for Sully and trips around the block for Kenny Although the weather did take a turn for the worst the past few days we still got out and about. Biggles even had a little time in the backyard!
Kenny had his pretty easy, regular trips around the block kept him regular! He ate well and seems to have pretty good energy giving Sully a run for his money when he wanted to wrestle! He wasn't overly fond of the back steps, especially the past 2 days as they were very slippery so I took him out the front instead. Kenny didn't always join us in the room at night, sleeping downstairs instead. However, he always had energy in the morning to join the wake up crew! It's quite something to be woken up before 6am with 2 dogs staring at you and wagging their tails and a cat meowing for his breakfast! Ha ha!
Sully was super well behaved, after we sorted out the dominance issue. He was very responsive whenever I called him and was a great little running partner. He was good with sitting before crossing the road, and before he got his dinner, though I did have to stop him from eating Kenny's leftovers a few times! We managed to get him and Kenny brushed and he seemed to quite like it! Man, there was a lot of hair that came off the boys!
Mr Biggles seemed to be good. He was eating a bit less wet food for 2 days but seemed to be back on track this past day. I love that he is sat there waiting patiently for his breakfast each day. I did make the mistake one day of serving his food and scooping his poop when he wasn't there and turned around to find Sully nose deep in it! Ninja dog!!
What a fun time with this crew!

DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 2.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute
I see you in the window Sully!! And in a flash, he leapt down the stairs to the main floor to greet me. Kenny did his little hop-hop of excitement. Sully grabbed my boot and both leashes to show he was READY!! With such an energetic welcome, you boys deserve an adventure to Edworthy. Little did we know what awaited us. Upon arrival, there was a black dog in the middle of the road at the parking lot and another young white dog looking lost. I got out first and went to them. Kenny and Sully stayed in the car. I wanted to check out the situation. These two poor souls were lost and hungry. Kenny and Sully helped me give them treats. The boys made these two dogs feel safe and comfortable to be in our pack. Thank goodness for YYC Lost Pets' Facebook page. Fortunately, these two pooches found their parents. Kenny & Sully - you are the true heroes for today🥰. Both boys had a poop each and several pees.
Wherever Kenny & Sully are, you know there will be fun going on. These two Labs are the life of the party and the household. We were so excited to have them back for a longer visit this time. As it fortunately happened, Marley B. was also staying during the same time period. Sully and Marley really like each other. Even though there is an age difference, they will always be found on their walks side-by-side. At night-time, it was Sully and Marley that slept on the bed with me. I caught them a couple of times with their paws touching side by side. Wish I could have taken a photo of that. Morning time was always Kenny & Aoife's playtime outside. Kenny got the hi jinx and pounced around and Aoife thought this was great. On Thursday, Marley & Sully had the pleasure of DGR Dog Huxley joining in on their Nosehill trip. Lots and lots of fun that day. Kenny loved his morning stroll in our off-leash park when it was just him and Aoife. Our evening walks consisted of the whole pack. On Saturday, Kenny and Marley partook in Aoife’s first adventure to Nosehill. I must say Aoife was all tuckered out when we got to the car. Maybe stimulation overload. Not even Kenny could get her to play until she had a long nap. By the end of the day, Sully was the only one up for keeping up with our pup. Sully would instantly drop and plop over with the toy in his mouth and show Aoife his belly. I do not think there was a toy in the toy box that these two did not play with. It was a great time having the ‘gang’ all here.

It was great having Biggles as our recent house guest. He’d always give me some good company whenever I was having a long day. Whether I was sitting at the counter, table, TV or computer, Biggles would come sit right on my lap and usually start purring his loud purr. On his stay, he found some spots that I’d always find him if he wasn’t strolling around the house: perched on the counter that looks out into the backyard, downstairs on the couch nestled in the blankets, and under the covers in a bed. I had to check under the covers every time I sat on my bed so I wouldn’t squish him by accident. Biggles, you’re an awesome cat, thank you for you company!

It was a puppy party and sleepover the past 24 hours. We had the pleasure of Kenny & Sully’s company in our home from Friday morning till Saturday morning. There were walks to Nosehill, several pack walks at our local off-leash park, which received several compliments about that 'good looking pack.' There was dinner and treats plus EXTRA EXTRA playtime - no bedtime curfew for this gang. Sully and Aoife (our pup) would try and play ‘chase me and my stick’. Sully is pretty quick so Aoife came close but did not quite get it. Sully & her loved playing together with Sully’s green S chew toy. Kenny was a fantastic babysitter and also guarded Aoife’s crate at nap-time. Make sure that the pup sleep, was his mission. King Kenny & Sir Sully’s time was way too short. Hope for another pack reunion real soon.

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it🎵It is Kenny & Sully time. PLUS these two brothers get a sleepover. I picked them up first, before their walks so we could check out Nosehill for some NW variety. I also had a special treat for Sully. DGR Marley joined us on our walk. These two did smashingly together. There may be an age difference, and of course, Marley is a girl and Sully a boy🐾. Their speed and pace were very compatible. As were their personalities. Sully was a true gentleman. Kenny is at home resting up for his stroll after we are finished with the these kids😊. The Scoop: 4 pees, 1 poo.
DISTANCE: 3.6 km . DURATION: 58 minutes
I had a sweet walk with sweet dogs Kenny and Sully. Sully's tummy may have been a bit upset so we took it nice and easy. It was quite the change in weather from yesterday so we just enjoyed the cooler day and each other's company. The Scoop; 7 pees, 3 poos
Kenny and Sully got 3 different adventures at my house tis weekend. We did Edworthy on Friday once the rain let up. On Saturday, we did an early morning outing at Nosehill and on Sunday, we went to an AARCS event called Paws in the Park. This event is significant to me because not only does it support rescue dogs but it is where I first learned of Dog Gone Running 5 years ago. I met a DGR Runner and shortly thereafter became a runner and 3 months later I co-owned DGR. I now fully own DGR and have been with Kenny and Sully for several years. This weekend was a first though as it was the first time Mr. Biggelsworth came to my house. Well, let's just say Biggles owns the place. My dog Teddy likes to lick him but basically he keeps a curious safe distance. Biggles also had my sons Ryan and Eli wrapped around his feline paws. Our days were filled with outdoor play with the dogs followed by doggy naps. Teddy, Sully and Kenny actually make a triangle when they lie next to each other. Thanks again to this fur family for helping me celebrate and anniversary with Paws in the Park, One never knows what moments change the course of one's life.

What a wonderful walk this afternoon with Kenny and Sully. Luckily, today wasn't too hot. Kenny made a friend with a little Beagle today as well!

Kenny and I went on a nice walk. He had many pees and stops to sniff whatever smells he could! It was the perfect temperature for a brisk walk and looked like rain was on the way. Thanks for the walk Kenny See you soon! Sully was ready to run today! Once we stepped outside, our feet were moving fast. We ran to a nice park and on the way to the intersection, some police officers stopped at the intersection and said hi to him with big smiles. The Scoop: 2 poops and lots of pees. Thanks for the run buddy, see you soon!
DISTANCE:6.51 km DURATION: 53:24
We set the long weekend off on the right foot by going for a long run today. We jogged through a park and let the sun's rays beat down on us. At one point, there was a sprinkler half on the sidewalk so we ran through that to let us cool off. I could tell Sully enjoyed that! The Scoop: 2 poops and countless pees. Thanks for the run Sully!

Today Sully and I ventured out into the neighbourhoods and parks. We passed by a group of schoolchildren who loved his big grin which made them grin back too. It was a hot morning and great exercise. I think by the end Sully was even too tired to go for any squirrels! The Scoop: 2 poops and several pees. Till next time Sully! Kenny and I took a nice leisurely walk this beautiful morning. The birds were singing, cars were driving by, and there was a sweet smell of flowers in the air. The Scoop: 2 poops and 5 pees.
DISTANCE: 7.16 km DURATION: 1:23:55
It's Tongue Out Tuesday for sure today!! The game plan is King Kenny goes first so Sully goes last and for the full hour. Sully was doing everything in his power to make me take him first. I chased Sully around the kitchen several times to get my sneaker back🐾. Sully, trust me there is a big reward coming your way since you are going last!! Finally, Kenny stood in the way so Sully had to give up my runner🤣. Kenny went for about 20 minutes and his distance was 600 meters. It was warm and Kenny was satisfied that he had done enough and laid down on the sidewalk. I agree with Kenny - you did have a good workout. Silly Sully...... it's your turn. Off to Optimist Park, so Sully could run free and share that mischievous smile. Sully did 6.7 kms in 1:03. Sully was tired when we got home. Mission accomplished because Sully you get full roam of the house. I told you it was worth the wait. The Doggy Business Report: Kenny 1 poop & 4 pees. Sully had 2 poops and 6 pees.
DISTANCE: 4.60 km DURATION: 1:02:13
Kenny and Sully always brighten my day by their warm welcomes and ecstatic wagging tails. Today's run included an extra friend named Destiny. All I can say is that Destiny is destined to be a DGR Runner as she has a lot of experience with dogs and they instantly listen to her. On this hot day, we took it nice and easy. Sully got to go go first and boy, was he a perfect gentleman. He gave me those lovey dovey eyes but just walked steadily beside us. He was rewarded with a stick to chomp on. Kenny, of course, was a doll, The Scoop: poops for both boys and a plethora of pees. Thanks again to Destiny and welcome to the DGR Team.
