![]() DISTANCE: 10.36 km DURATION: 1:46:25 Today was bittersweet (for me).... yay! It’s Wednesday and I get to see Kayto but he is taking a break from running with us so needless to say, we took our time. I wanted to spend as much time with my friend as I possibly could and I’m pretty sure he didn’t mind.😊 Kayto started off with four toys, 2 balls and 2 Kongs before we even left the house!😳 Thank goodness he decided to only take 1 of each. We then hopped in the truck and headed for the pooch park where we wandered about. I followed my friend - his choice today. There was a lot of water sports and 4x4-ing just to keep things cool. Thanks for another fabulous adventure Kayto! I’ll miss your award-winning smile and your happy-go-lucky attitude towards life. This is not goodbye (I hope) so I’m just going to say I’ll see you again..... Now is everyone depressed?!?!?!! 🙈😆 3 giant poos and many pees today. Take care my friend. Cheers! Runner: Tracy

![]() DISTANCE: 7.02 km DURATION: 1:06:21 Kayto! The holiday dog has returned and boy was I glad! I missed this pooper too... It was the best Wednesday ever! (for me anyways)😊 It was toasty out so Kayto and I hopped in the truck and drove down to the river, it wasn’t my idea😜. As soon as we got there, Kayto and I ran into an old friend, but this time he had pants on! We chatted a bit and moved along for some water sports. Kayto really had no interest in serious running today, I think he may be still in holiday mode. Actually, it worked out well because I think I am too.😬. Anyways, on our way back the rain started and it was NICE! Nope, our pace didn’t quicken and by the end of the outing, I was carrying Kayto’s 2 balls and stick! What I won’t do for my friends!😁 Thanks for coming out today Kayto! Pleasure as always. 2 poos and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.15 km DURATION: 1:35:59 Hello Kayto! As soon as my friend collected what he needed we were off! He ran straight to my truck. Okay, apparently we are going for a ride!😁 I drove us to the pooch park. Don’t ask me why but I figured Kayto might want to socialize a bit before we hit the river. Nope! So we meandered on down the mountain and partied for a while before moving on. Kayto and I were running along the trails at Edworthy when a man came out of the bush and let’s just say all he was wearing were his shoes!🙈😂 I screamed, he screamed, Kayto went up to say hello (because we knew him) OMG! It was kind of funny, he apologized and we kept on going. Further down the path, we ran into our friends Bones and his human, played a while then nonchalantly made our way back to where we started. We did run into our friend again but this time he found his shorts!😬 Never a dull moment! Thanks for another interesting adventure Kayto! 3 poos and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.20 km DURATION: 1:23:03 Kayto! Handsome, hop on in my truck because we are cheating today😶. Yes, we drove down to the river in hopes of avoiding any mountain climbing. The sun was finally making an appearance so I just knew there would be plenty of river stops today and I was right! All good as long as my friend is having a good time that’s all that matters😬. Kayto and I hit some trails where we ran into some teenagers running for a team (I think). Anyways, we came around a corner and Kayto scarred the bejesus out of a few them!😂 There were 4 boys but they squealed like a girls! They claimed to be talking about bears when we came across them but I think that was an excuse😜. Kayto just smiled and carried on. Thanks for another fun-filled afternoon adventure my friend! 3 poos and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.97 km DURATION: 1:20:33 Hello handsome! Kayto and I got caught up in the social activities today.🤗 The paths were packed full of pooches and humans alike, the sun was shining, and the river was refreshing. How do you expect us to not get sidetracked? We ran into some of our friends again so this time I took a picture of their pooch. Meet the adorable Bones! Kayto and him are becoming fast friends😊 We moved along down the path saying hello to everyone. I love it when there is such happiness in the world, city.....Kayto’s and my bubble😬 Up to the pooch park and back home we headed. Thanks for be so patient today Kayto! Especially when I made you work a little harder for your treats😳( how dare I ) 2 poos and many pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.05 km DURATION: 1:05:51 Hello handsome! Kayto, we are cheating today and driving down to the river. Why? Because I suspect there is going to be more water sports and socializing then running😬 Can I call it or can I call it? Kayto and I were doing not too bad for the first couple of kilometres and then it all fell apart.😜 Well, we just got a little sidetracked (no surprise there) and my friend was having a hard time holding onto his ball, Kong and sticks!😆 Every time we’d hit the river, I’d toss in all his treasures and it almost looked like his was bobbing for apples!😂 This happened more than once! We also ran into some friends that we have made in our past travels so of course, we had to say hello. Kayto is a bit of a celebrity on the Edworthy pathways because of his fantastic demeanour and his stretch Armstrong mouth! Anyways, we ended with about 15 minutes of water sports and called it a day. Thanks for another fantastic adventure Kayto! 2 poos and many pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.39 km. DURATION: 1:23:09 Kayto has been on holidays the last couple of weeks and I’m sure glad he’s back! We hit the back forty for old time's sake, who am I kidding we love that route!😬 Kayto was a bit slow out of the gate; he’s still in holiday mode I suspect.😜 We ventured on down to the river for some water sports, then carried on down the path and saw an eagle land in a tree. Wow! Beautiful creatures they are! Speaking of trees, Kayto and I were trotting along blissfully unaware of the danger that was about to ensue. Following the path, we heard a crack and then about ten feet in front of us a tree came down!😳 I’m not gonna lie it scared the you know what out of us!😂 We shook it off, thanked whoever was looking out for us and cautiously made our way back home to safety. Thanks for hanging in there with me today Kayto! Glad to have you back! 1 poo and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.82 km DURATION: 1:12:08 Good Day Kayto! We are cheating a little and I’m going to drive us down to the river, I hope you don’t mind?😬 I really didn’t feel like climbing back up the mountain and judging by Kayto’s lack of enthusiasm for running this afternoon, I think I made the best choice🤗. My friend was more interested in playing in the water, finding forest snacks, and a little ball toss than running. I really didn’t mind. Whatever makes you happy kid! We actually started to run but then I noticed Kayto was limping so we slowed things down to a lallygagging pace. Then my friend decided he didn’t want to go any further so he had a rest in the shade. So I waited.. and waited... and waited😂 I finally started to leave and he soon followed. It took a while but eventually we made it back to my ride. You're too funny my friend. Thanks for the laughs! 2 poos and way to many pees to count today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.97 km. DURATION: 1:32:31 Hello Kayto! My friend and I hit the trails running until we got to the river. Let’s just say we both were a little sidetracked today😆. I’m pretty sure Kayto and I would have rather had a picnic and soak in a little sunshine by the water today instead of exercising😜. Well Kayto ,there’s only one way back so let’s try to just keep moving forward. After a while, we were both looking at each other hoping someone, anyone would come and carry us home 😂 I even backtracked a little which meant unnecessary hill work just so Kayto could cool himself off one last time before what seemed like the longest part of our journey home. Thanks for hanging in there with me today Kayto! I had a blast! 2 poos and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.30 km DURATION: 1:14:04 Kayto and I, like some of my other friends, are becoming creatures of habit. Apparently, we really like our route and until Kayto let’s me know otherwise the back forty it is! My friend as usual grabbed his toys he wanted to take with him😊 It really doesn’t bother me because he always seems so happy and it slows him down a bit (dropsies). 😜 Kayto and I hit the river as it’s never too cold for a slurp and a swim! Did anyone else almost think the end of the world was coming when the emergency alert went off on their phone?!?!! I wasn’t the only one. I heard two ladies on the path scream some profanities. 😂 I guess I need to start paying attention. Anyways, we made our way up to the pooch park. Kayto kept to himself. He carried that mouthful (ball, bone, and 3 sticks) a long way and wasn’t about to let anyone take them from him.😆 He’s so funny! Thanks for hanging with me today Kayto ! Pleasure as always. 2 giant poos and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.56 km DURATION: 59:45 It seems as though events are truly made up of sub-events that happen in short impulses and cumulatively make up a larger category that we call an event. Those sub-events make up the experience and are full of the expected and unexpected, however many sub-events are forgotten. However, this run took course over fifty-nine minutes and forty-five seconds, or a cumulatively of three thousand five hundred and eighty-five second sub-events. I would like to take the time to describe at least one of this sub-events of which only occurred in a fraction of a second and is one of the only sub-events that can be attributed to the event of running today on a whole. When Kayto and I were running, we saw a garter snake. So here's how I'll describe it better. We had been running for seven kilometres and I can see the winding road off to my left side and I touched the edge of an object that of which has a similar appear of a stick, but with a longitudinal black and grey strip on it. My mind began to process it. It wasn't until the centre of my mass was over the object where the distinct realization that it was a snake clicked abrasively in my head. The next stride shot me up a foot in the air whilst I tried to raise my feet as high and far away from this menace. Meanwhile, Kayto who had been trailing behind me, still on a leash because we were in a rush to get back because I had a dentist appointment to get to following the run, which I subsequently arrived twenty minutes early for, step over it with the calm and grace of a dog who loves big sticks and could not care for anything as tiny as the stick-like snake. I saw this because as I sprung forward I looked back to make sure the snake wasn't following me and in that process realized that the snake was completely motionless and most likely dead. Even though all this occurred in a fraction of a second, my heartbeat shot up to a noise level you can hear in your ears. Anyhow, that is one of the sub-events that happened during the run. The scoop: 3 poos and many pees. Runner: Noah ![]() DISTANCE: 9.53 km. DURATION: 1:19:40 I thought for sure Kayto wanted nothing to do with Wednesday’s route but I was wrong! After he grabbed 2 balls and the 3 sticks (from the other day) we were off like lightning!😁 No - not like lightning, Kayto sees me coming and he puts his party pants on! My friend and I clearly are not concerned about speed, just having a good time. Don’t get me wrong, we always make an effort but things happen!😬 We hit the back forty and went down to the river. Kayto needed a swim and slurp. So did I but I controlled myself. We then ran into the nice city workers that were helping clear the path from all the ice. They said they would be done today!👍🏿 Up the hill through the pooch park and homeward bound we went. Thanks for another excellent adventure Kayto! Hope you have a fantastic weekend! 1 poo and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 9.50 km DURATION: 1:30:57 Kayto and I have a tale to tell🙈. Our adventure started off the way it always does, Kayto had a mouthful and a case of the dropsies. We headed down to the river and partied awhile. Good times were had by all until we went on the other side of the tracks, then it all fell apart😳. While I was taking a picture of an unfortunate skunk, I almost stepped on another one! In trying to avoid it while screaming I pulled my groin... this slowed things down. Kayto and I moseyed on down the path and then I got a nose bleed... now we are walking😂. We reached the base of the mountain and started our climb when Kayto had another case of the dropsies The poor guy had to run down the mountain at least 5 times. Yay! We found some snow to roll in , but unfortunately had troubles and both Kayto and I were sliding down. I think if we could have called an Uber we would have.😆 My friend and I persevered and eventually made it home. Thanks for hanging in there today Kayto! 2 poos and many pees. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 10.00 km DURATION: 1:04:08 Once I realized that the Crowchild pedestrian bridge across the Bow River was closed, my planned running routes needed to be altered. Instead, Kayto and I stuck to the south side of the river and spent more time in Edworthy playing with sticks and other dogs. It was definitely a great day to run with the glorious not-too-warm but not-too-cool weather and it was made even better with a splendid running partner. Kayto, you truly are a joy to run with. I'm very glad we could find you a stick today. The scoop: 1 poo, 5 pees. Runner: Noah ![]() DISTANCE: 8.46 km DURATION: 1:14:38 It was a Friday fun-filled run for Kayto, Juno and me today! We started with some good fun through Edworthy Park. From there, we headed down the steep hill and jogged onto the Douglas Fir Trails. The pups were thrilled to find lots of snow there. I didn’t mind but it certainly slowed my pace down. I thought I was done running on ice and snow! So while Kayto did not seek out any sticks today we had a rousing game of catch the snowballs! With snow came some mud so our next stop was a river dip. We rounded off our fun with more trail running back home. My pace and distance wasn’t huge but these two logged way more distance than me by running back and forth from me to the many joyful finds out there for them today. Thanks for the Friday Fun Kayto! Have a great weekend. Scoop: one poop and quite a few pees. Runner: Tammy |
