Run run Rudolph..... Yeah, it’s a catchy song but it perfectly described my mood today. Dry pathways, nice temperature, and tons of energy. You know those days when you feel you can go for it and run forever. Well, that was my mood this morning and boy did we run. The river valley was the place to be ....... did someone say squirrel? Time to go! Run run Kaylee ...... it’s gotta nice ring to it don’t you think? Maybe I’ll rewrite the song. Doggie Business: 4 pees and no poop.

Hey mom, I finally figured out what you can get me for Christmas this year!! Who doesn’t want their very own Kaylee look-a-like lawn ornament with flashing lights. How cool is that!! 😎 I was inspired on my walk this morning when this little White Terrier was barking it’s head off and trying to project itself through the front window. Clearly, the poor thing thought I was trying to make off with his likeness on the front lawn. All I wanted was a cool selfie with the cute little dude and reference photo for my Christmas list. Chill little one; it’s all good. Hugs for the holidays Kaylee. XOXOXO. The Scoop: 4 pees, no poops.

Another stellar run with my furry pal. She is so excited when I show up; it warms my ❤️. Speaking of warm, the spectacular temperature was responsible for the icy sidewalks but the spectacular temperature allowed for forgiveness for the ice and allowed us to appreciate how overall amazing November weather has been!! We have had some really nice runs this month and today was no different. We went in the direction of the Douglas Fir and were not disappointed by the beauty there this time of the year. When I see Kaylee next week, it will already be December. How did that happen? It was an amazing day as Kaylee had a poop!!! And, of course, some pees.

The last time Kaylee and I ran together, the weather was well above 20 degrees, and I recall wearing a tank top. I put on my gloves and head band for today’s run, and was eager to reunite with this tail-wagging gal. Kaylee and I had an absolute blast exploring Marda Loop and Altadore. There is something about the atmosphere in Marda Loop, where all the old houses have turned into small shops. Not only did we have a hoot together, but we got quite a great workout in too! Up and down the steep hills, Kaylee and I felt our legs burning. Towards the end of the run, we trotted home, easing our pace. As we arrived at her front door, Kaylee did not want to go inside yet, so we sat down on the front step for some extra love and kisses. I have missed you sweet girl. 1 poop and 3 pees.

Did somebody say Spring is here?! You'd think so based on the way Kaylee was feeling this morning. She had more bounce to the ounce than the Jack Rabbits that rule our city. It was hard to tell who was running who at times. It was a reminder that being around people, or animals, that have tons of good energy just makes you feel better. And Kaylee seemed to take her normal high energy to a whole new level this morning. Perhaps it was the Spring-like conditions, but no matter, I'm grateful for Kaylee this morning, you energized me for the day. You go girl. They don't call it Dog Gone Running for nothing. Poops: nil. Pees: 3.

What a gem Kaylee is. She was so playful in the snow and was so happy to greet me. She was jumping up and licking my chin. She is an an angel to run and I have never seen someone so happy to run! She kept a good pace for both of us and lead the way. She sure wants to go! When I would adjust my knee brace, she would come over and sniff to ensure I was okay. She is such a caring pup. The scoop: 100 pees and no poos,

Kaylee is one smart dog don’t ya know. She knows the difference between a fake witch and a real witch!! She happily sat close to the fake scary witch but when we ran by a teacher going to school in her all black witch costume she was very concerned and cautious. I will say it again; she’s one smart puppy. Other than that minor brush with Halloween, all was quiet on the streets this a.m. Kaylee did show up in costume today as herself- aka squirrel and bird catcher. And like every other outing was not successful in her attempts to catch the prize. Phew!! 😅 Hope you get lots of visitors tonight Kaylee and give the kids your big smile. No poop again and a few quick pees.

I had to rustle Miss Kaylee out of bed this a.m. but unlike me, who can take some time getting out of bed, she was up lickety split and out the door! Today’s adventure was seeking out some cool decorations for the upcoming holiday next week. And we were successful in reaching our goals. There was the cutest hand painted baby pumpkins, skeleton dogs, fuzzy stuffed cats with big eyes, and a few neat carved pumpkins. Next week will be even better. Will we dress up Kaylee for Halloween 🎃? You may not recognize me when I come thru the door. Kaylee had a few pees and no poop.

Sunshine and friends were the order of the day on my run with Kaylee this morning. To kick things off, she was super stoked by the fact she was joined by my husband Chris and our good friend Susan. She barely knew who to focus her attention on and she had a huge smile on her face the entire run. As it turned out, our route took us on a social trip through South Calgary, with chance meetings with friends. We met a friend who’s a wine guru and another who is a jazz musician. Calgary truly is a small town and our random intersections reminded us of just how small town our city can be at times. By the time we arrived back home, Kaylee looked sad to say goodbye. Her face seemed to say..... “what, no ones inviting me out for coffee?”. Maybe next time Kaylee. Thanks for a great run. And a fun social morning. Enjoy your day. Kaylee had a few pees but no poop.

Well, someone sure likes the snow! From our first few steps out the door, Kaylee bounded through the snow and on the pathways. It’s quite different running with her in the 🌞 vs. the winter lol. That coat of hers is just made for these temperatures. I, on the other hand, can’t quite figure out what the best outerwear is. Hopefully, by the end of the Fall” season I will. Today, we ventured towards the Douglas Fir Trail for hill training. It was an easy downhill most of the way there and many challenging uphills on the way home. I wish that could be reversed. However, with Kaylee’s spirit today, I was able to get assistance on the uphill run which was totally appreciated. I had a great morning Kaylee. She was a messy puppy when we got home so hopefully the clean up was okay😉. Kaylee had one poop and a few pees.

Well, last week I rode my bike to Kaylee’s to pick her up and this week my tires aren’t fat enough to get through the brutal sidewalks and roads! It was beautiful and warm in the sun 🌞 today as evidenced by the first photo taken on the front step of Kaylee’s place. She took a moment to take in the freshness of the day and whiteness of the ground. On our journey, we saw many people shoveling and looking like they were about to have heart attacks. Cars leaving their streets with both snowbanks and trees on top of their roofs was quite a funny sight. And then, we saw the beauty of the snow making mountain ash trees look like Christmas trees with red bells on them and delicate maple leaves sitting on top of the ever so white snow. Back home it took some time to get the snow chunks out of her fur (and even then I didn’t get them all. Sorry!) Kaylee’s business today was just peeing. No poop.

My pal hasn’t been on a DGR run since I last ran her in August. Since then she had her lump, near her tail, removed, recuperated and has a new puppy in the house!! Wow, you have been a busy girl Kaylee. Busy or not, she was looking out the window when I arrived and was all wags when the door was opened. Since she hasn’t been running in over a month, we thought we would take it easy today; running, walking and rolling on the journey. All went really well and I think by next week she will be interested in picking up the pace. Kaylee is so cute; she waits for the perfect grass to roll in as evidenced by the pictures. Any stop and drop was on pristine green carpet like grass 😂. Doggie business: one poop and a few small pees.

Parting is such sweet sorrow as they say Kaylee. I won’t see you now for almost a month as I am heading east. I hope your doctor appointment goes well tomorrow as mom said you have been favouring your tail lately. It didn’t seem to bother you at all today which was great. We did a light jog for part of our outing and walked for the other part as the smoke 💨 was affecting our breathing and making our eyes sore. Crazy day! The neighborhood was a little quiet today - it appears most people and their doggies are on holiday! Be well pal. See you when I get back!! Kaylee had a few pees and a good poop today.

I was so happy to see Kaylee again today! The first half hour of our run went by at a quick pace. We cut down to 33rd Ave and through Marda Loop. After that sun exposure, we were both ready to slow things down a bit. We made our way to my house (sticking to shaded paths) and I gave Kaylee a drink of water from my hose. I was happy to see that her grass rolling antics have not stopped after my week off. She always seems to be smiling and makes me laugh every time! Thank you for the lovely run today, Kaylee! I will see you next week! The scoop: 1 pee, 1 poo.

You see a lot of things when you cover the kind of distance and variety of pathways that you do on these Dog Gone runs. For years now, I have been watching these kids on park benches and street corners as I run on past enjoying the great outdoors. There is a strange phenomenon that I have witnessed where these kids take these awkward half selfie photos and I’ve often wondered what that was all about. Today my running pal explained it to me. She said to me, Kaylee, those photos you see are Snapchat images. Strangely the kids choose to purposefully take pictures of half of their faces as a way of initiating contact on their Snapchat channel. So I thought it would be fun to take my first Snapchat selfie to initiate contact with my DGR fans out there. Not bad hey!! Doggie Business: one good poop and a few pees.
