DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes My gal Kali, what a treat it was to run with this beautiful pup today. I missed Kali and her energy. We spent a bunch of time sniffing everything we passed. We meandered through the neighbourhood, passed a pretty decent chalk drawing of Peppa Pig and headed home. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my weekend. Thanks for letting me enjoy the morning with you Kali . The Scoop 1 poop, 5 pees. DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 67 minutes Kali and I got into a good groove today. We almost lost sight of the time. That's when you know it's a good run! It's beautiful with the green grass popping up. It seemed like Kali enjoyed rolling in the fresh grass (see picture). Spring is the best season. We get the perfect temperature for runs. We had a little sun, a little rain, and a quick burst of hail. Just enough to cool us off! We had a small boy pass us on his bike as he yelled, "you have a cute dog". I said, "she sure is," so I let her family know they have a beautiful dog! Good run Kali! The Scoop: 2 poops, 3 pees. Runner: Anna DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE:7 km DURATION: 1 hour (Please not the accurate time) Kali and I had a great run today. We started very strong. Kali really does like to investigate things around her so much that mid stride she would stop and dig her heels in to the ground, turning my leash to a waist trainer. We had a lot of fun overall. Thank you Kali. The Scoop 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Shemar DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.7 km DURATION: 58 minutes Kali was great today! It was actually much warmer and sunnier than Kali and I initially expected, But that was no issue because we kept on pushing all the way to the Glenmore Reservoir. I also learned about Kali's love for snow! Almost every time we passed a fresh patch of snow she chose to stop on a dime and roll around in it. It was so cute. Thanks Kali for a great run! The Scoop : 1 poop 2 pees. Runner: Shemar DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes Today's run was a great way to work off those already eaten Easter chocolates! It turned out to be a beautiful day with the sun warming us up after the last week of colder weather. Kali doesn't seem to mind the snow though. Any chance she could get, she found patches of snow to bite, and play in. We took a quick few minute break to play in the snow- a great way to cool off too! She loved it. We got our steps in though still as we took our adventure towards Glenmore Park. What a beautiful view of the reservoir half melted but half frozen. It was gorgeous. Thanks Kali for getting me to work off those chocolates just in preparation to eat more Happy Easter!! The Scoop: 1 poop, 4 pees. Runner: Anna DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.8 km DURATION: 1 hour It was my first time out with Kali today and the weather could have been any nicer - but hey we live in Calgary where you can get all four seasons in a day! After a warm welcome, Kali and I headed out to explore the area. It was a slow start as all the smells were out today and her nose was going a mile a minute. Kali is such a sweetie and kept looking back to check on me. We stopped a few times for some belly rubs and scratches.. I even got a kiss too! Have a great weekend Kali! The Scoop: 1 poop and many pees! Runner: Chris DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.4 km DURATION: 57 minutes A day before it is officially spring and what a beautiful day! It felt like summer actually, the sun was shining and people were out enjoying their day. Kali and I made our way to North Glenmore Park to enjoy the views along the running pathway. We even saw a few people walking and practicing their golf swings at the course. Like I said it really felt like a summer day. Nothing better than starting the weekend off right with a beautiful outdoor run! The Scoop: 0 poops, 2 pees. Runner: Anna DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes My gal Kali, what an absolutely gorgeous day today! Blue skies and the perfect temperature for a run with Kali. We ran down 20th and then sprinted toward the off-leash park. We zigged and zagged and then powered up 38th Avenue. That hill is always a grind especially at the end of the run. We took a selfie and then jogged home. Thank you for the perfect run today Kali. The Scoop: 5 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Michelle W. DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 13 minutes Hey Kali, do you want to help me with my 4x4x48 Challenge? I am running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. I also recently got a tattoo so am not trying to sweat. That is a pretty tall order! Well, Kali helped me do both. She did have some sprints from time to time when we got near snow and the park but she also was in major sniffing mode so I was not dripping with sweat. She sure likes to bury her nose in the snow and pull me towards River Park. She must have friends there. We did go a nice and quiet route near the dam and tennis courts and then headed back home. We also had time for some creative photos. Thanks again for helping me with my 7th 4-miler. The Scoop: 1 pee and no poops. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE:6.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 16 minutes Wow, what a beautiful day it was! The sun was shining bright, the snow was melting and people were out enjoying the day. A beautiful spring-like day. I don't think I've seen another dog so excited to cool off and roll around in snow like Kali! I'd say she was having a lot of fun today and so did I! The Scoop: 0 poops, 2 pees. Runner: Anna DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes Every run with Kali is a great run! Today, the weather was perfect. There is still a bit of ice on driveways, but the wind wasn’t too bad and the temperature was just right for sprints with Kali. Today felt like a HIIT workout, pause and sniff, sprint, pause and sniff, sprint, roll in the soft snow, sprint. I really enjoy spending time with Kali and always look forward to our runs. Thank you Kali for a wonderful run! The Scoop: 1 poop, 5 pees. Runner: Michelle W. DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7K DURATION: 1 hour 5 minutes Well, MIss Kali, you are my 9th run of the week. It is so lovely to see you on this warm February day. It was so strange to be running past houses that had Christmas decorations still up. There were candy canes and reindeer in the yard. In addition to this, there were places where kids had started to do sidewalk art with sunshine faces. What season is it? Miss Kali was trying to veer me towards river park for a swim but I decided to keep us weaving in and out of the neighbourhood as i knew it would be swamped there figuratively and literally with dogs and potential mucky, muddy areas. Kali did greta but I think she was quite warm and I got a fun video of her burying her face in a snowbank. Nice seeing you Kali. The Scoop: 1 poop, 3-4 pees. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Kali was fantastic! She gave me a tour around her pretty neighbourhood. We experienced a little snowfall near the end. Also, as a side note, Kali is so photogenic there was not one bad picture taken today. I had a lot of fun running Kali, and I hope she also had fun. The Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Roy DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes I absolutely adore Kali. She is such a pleasure to run and she always makes my day brighter! We went on a round about run today; up and down new streets that we haven’t run before. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect! We ran past a bunch of sandstone boulders and a hedge that still had Christmas balls all over it. Kali jumped in snow banks and caught snowballs. Thank you for a perfect run today Kali! The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Michelle W. DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() SDISTANCE: 7.1 km DURATION: 1 hour Getting it done! My 2nd run with sweet Kali, was amazing! I made sure to steer clear of the park and did my best to keep her moving today! We were great when passing other dogs and her behaviour at intersections was perfect! We stopped for a couple treat and pet breaks and a chance to roll in the snow, plus check out the people at the outdoor rink! Life is good! The Scoop: 2 pees, no poops. Runner: Brad |
