![]() DISTANCE: 9.25 km DURATION: 1:07.49 Who is that pretty doggy in the window? It's Kali, waiting on me and she does not take her eyes off me until I am right at the front door. Hello sweet pea! It's just you and me today. Let's go get some mileage in. Kali & I float along in the crisp morning air. Kali is so peaceful and very gentle to run with when it is just the two of us. I have to remind myself 'you're running' and that 'I have a special four legged friend with me.' It is way to easy to slide into dreamland when your are in Kali's company. On that note, being in dreamland our missing 2.70 K's was on Arbour Lake Way then onto Arbour Lake Drive and then into the green space. See you next week Kali girl 🐾😊. The Doggy Business Report: sorry to say nothing to report. Runner: Michelle

![]() DISTANCE: 7.06 DURATION: 59:16 Hurray it's a Friday Sisterhood Run. Asha and Kali were so excited to see me, they both tried to get as close as they can because pre-run pats and rubs are a must! Today's goal: a little bit faster pace. Are you gals up for the challenge? All paws and feet were in for this one. We kicked our speed into gear and headed over into Arbour Lake for a run through that green space. Kali is all up for speed, Asha is working up to a faster pace so this was a really big challenge. Asha conquered it until the final kilometer when Asha laid down and gave me the look, "We are having a rest😅. Kali sat in this beautiful pose and waited for us to get moving and Asha looked at me, rolled on her back and indicated 'I'll run again if I get a belly rub!' It's a deal! Great job girls, you both are so cute. The Doggy Business: Asha had 1 pee and Kali had nothing to report. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.74 km DURATION: 1:02:21 There was a very special surprise for Kali & Leo today. We humans were talking and since both pups seem to be missing each other greatly, we decided to get these two friends together for a run. I picked up Kali and we ran to Leo's place and she started to whimper, I think she thought that she was only going to be able to see him through the fence. I go inside, get Leo who is very happy to see me and we come out and he does a quick second look and SURPRISE you two🎉. Let's run! Of course after a couple of minutes of play time. Kali & Leo hit their usual stride and pace. This is like magic for these two; they are totally at peace and have this beautiful energy that they create. They like to run close to each other, but one on each side of me, so sometimes my legs get in the way of literally being side by side😊 I guess 3 can be a crowd sometimes😂. The Doggy Business; Kali 1 pee and Leo 1 poop and 4 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.07 km DURATION: 1:00:52 Hope you enjoyed our little fairytale: It started when I first arrived at the gates and I saw this little princess, which is Kali looking out the front window in a majestic pose. Then the tail wags which is the cue for Princess Asha to let the humans know that I have arrived and that the princesses are going to be leaving the castle for some exercise. I enter the palace doors and both girls are lined up, like a royal receiving line and we latch up and go. Today's regal adventure took us over the drawbridge (the pedestrian overpass) into the lands of Edgemont. The gallant princess sisters loved this new countryside and bravely adventured on foot through mixed terrain and some rather challenging hills. The princesses concurred that they would delight in visiting these lands again🐾. The royal report is only on behalf of Asha, 3 pees and 1 poop. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.06 KM DURATION: 1:02 A few things were discovered on today's outing. Asha loves the snow, IPhones don't work well in the snow and Kali loves to run in all weather conditions. I thought we may sneak our run in before the snow started, but by the half way mark we were all covered like snowmen. One larger abominable snowperson and two mini abominable snow dogs running side by side⛄️❄️. We hit one of the green spaces and Asha stopped, laid down, rolled and rolled kicking her legs up on the air, enjoying the coolness of the snow on her fur. I was trying to reset my phone but I didn't really have anything dry to wipe it with. Kali looked at both of us with the look "this is not running". Sorry Kali girl but we need to take an environmental and electronics break😊. We hit home and got all dried off and both girls gave me kisses on each cheek. 💕. Doggy Business: just Asha with 2 poops and 1 pee. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.24 km DURATION: 1:00:36 My beverage of choice this morning was a cup of coffee but the sisters Kali & Asha's beverage of choice was a Red Bull EACH! We left the front stoop flying - I actually can not remember the first kilometer. When I left my house I thought the girls and I would have this peaceful steady but relaxing pace, well I was wrong 😊 Both Kali & Asha where full of fire and it was so great to be with. them We ran on busy streets, met up with lots of other neighbors taking their dogs for walks and spent half of our run on new paths that neither of the girls had been on before! We had action, excitement and adventure now that is what you can call a fun run. At the end, Asha was tired and I think she headed straight for a nap when we got home, Kali on the other hand tried to sneak out the front door to go on my next run with me. The Doggy Business: Asha had 1 poop and 2 pees. Kali did nothing to report. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 6.83 KM DURATION: 1:05:21 Hurray it is a run day with Kali and Asha😊. I've missed you girls! What a beautiful day it was, I could tell that both Kali & Asha agreed because I saw a lot of smiles on their faces. One of our goals is to broaden our running area and have Asha feel comfortable entering new territory. Today when doing our usual loop, Kali started to whimper, I looked at her to see if she was hurt and could not figure out what was the reason and she was right up against a fence. Having my head down and totally fixated on Kali I did not realize our exact location. Well, friends we were at DGR dog Leo's back fence and Leo was outside. Kali was so happy to see him, and the pining stopped and wagging tails began. Kali & Leo used to run together before Asha got bit by the running bug. Asha was so good about this encounter and gave Kali the look, 'Hey we are suppose to be running!' It was so great to see the 'friendship'. We continued on with our jog and Asha only put the brakes on once. The Doggy Business: Kali had 1 poop and Asha had 2 pees Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.01 km DURATION: 1:00:28 Oh, who is that Doggy in the Window? It's Kali and she knows it Friday run day.....wait and who else is there..... It's Asha too!! Good morning girls! you two are excited to go for your run - so let's go🐾.Kali whispered in my ear today that she wanted to show Asha her little green slice of heaven and since we were aiming for a full hour run with Asha today, that was the perfect idea. Kali and I love this area, it is quiet and peaceful; so good to build up running confidence. Kali was rather proud of herself and took the leading position. Asha did so well and we had just a few sniff and walk times. Never once did the brakes come on indicating no more running. Plus, big applause because Asha more than doubled Tuesday's run distance. The girls are becoming a dynamic duo. It is really fun being out with them😊. The Doggy Business Report: Kali had 1 poop & 2 pees and Asha had 1 poop & 2 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.50 KM DURATION: 1:04:01 Hello girls, what're your thoughts on misty mornings? No problem as long as the canine sisters (not biological) could run together. Alrighty, let's get the blood a pumping. Asha joined us for the beginning of our run which was so great! On that note, look who doubled their distance from last run, WooHoo Asha clocking in 3.03 kms🎉🐾. Way to go sweetheart. Big kudos to Kali who is a fantastic leader. After dropping Asha back home, Kali gave me the nod that meant let's kick the speed up a bit. You got it Kali, you definitely deserve that after being such a super role model. We ran with sleet sticking to Kali's fur and dripping off my hair. We actually came back 'looking' like we had done a marathon. Ha ha just Mother Nature making us look like really hardcore runners. Can not wait for Friday girls. The Doggy Business: Asha had 1 pee and no business for Kali. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 9.27 km DURATION: 1:08:34 Good Morning Kali. Kali came into the house and gave one bark and then realized it was me and she came running over jumped up on her hind legs and gave me a warm hug. She is such a sweet pea. Kali was so excited in her gentle way to go running. Yes, dogs love to run but also the bond that develops between a runner and a dog is very special. Kali is a super example of this. Every time the two of us go out together, she blossoms in confidence and let's me see her beautiful personality. She is so affectionate and also very playful. We had some fun moments taking a selfie. The highlight was the last 1.5 kms when Asha (Kali's other canine family member) joined us to finish our run. Viola - Kali was so confident and demonstrating with head held high and wagging tail, we are running and this is what you do. Asha did fantastic and I know we can progress in distance. Not even a single pee to report on the Doggy Business. Runner: Michelle Hello Kali girl, it is great to run with you again. I know Leo will be surprised and happy. Let's go get him. "Hi Leo", we were playing with your internal clock. Leo, you are so smart knowing the time. Well the pack is together so let's get some running in. It took us all a couple of kilometers to get back into our groove and show off the nice rhythm we can get into. At the 4K mark we got all the dance steps sorted out and Kali & Leo stayed stride for stride and side by side. I think I caught Leo whispering in Kali's ear😉. Kali & Leo run so well together, and sniff the same spot together. Anyone would think they grew up together. The Doggy Business Report: Kali 1 & 1 and Leo 1 poop and 4 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 10.24 km DURATION: 1:09:30 🎉Way to break the 10 km ceiling Kali Girl🎊. In only a few runs, this gentle little dog enters a new level of DGR athletes. We hit the pathways totally in the zone today. We passed our heavenly green space and Kali gave a little swerve to go in but I just had a feeling we were going to make this a record day. With a quick rub on the back we took the longer route. And it so paid off👍. Side by side and a soft bow in the lead we had this magical outing. This run was 830 meters longer and 10 minutes faster than last Friday's run. I am so proud of you Kali - I'm popping my buttons!! Mighty things can come in little gentle packages. What a fantastic way to start the weekend!! The Doggy Business Report: 1 pee Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 9.40 km DURATION: 1:19:15 Hey Kali girl. it's just you and me today. Let's get to know each other better 😊. Lovely kisses and hugs upon arrival and I'm pretty sure Asha would have headed out the door with us as she seemed eager. Maybe next time. Kali and I run the 4 Community Loop (Hawkwood, Ranchlands, Dalhousie and Edgemont), you can join us. Kali has got this running thing down pat. Today, it was great to see more of her fantastic personality come out. She has her playful side which comes out running stairs. Then the curious side in the tall grass and green spaces. She has her endurance/steady side; on hills she is rock solid. And her "fun loving dog" side comes out when we see other dogs and she wants to play. You did absolutely brilliantly today Kali. Sorry for our route being all uphill on the way home. The Doggy Business Report: 2 pees. Runner: Michelle DISTANCE: 8.42 km DURATION: 1:08:33
Hurray, it is Tuesday and Kali is joining Leo & I. Kali gets picked up first and she is so happy to see me. She knows this means running. We run at a quick pace (which Kali sets) over to pick up her partner in crime - Leo🐶. Good Morning Leo - we see you are full of beans today!!😉. Leo was all about showing off his athleticism. He grabbed his lead pulled Kali & I to move a little faster. Kali was 'Okay Leo no problem I'm fast too'. Then another trick Leo had to show off was running on my right side and all of a sudden he decided to go behind us and jump over Kali's lead on the left side. Except he only got half his body over the lead. Oops! Leo, that trick was only half successful. Last attempt to impress Kali was when Leo stopped running but jumped forward like a rabbit for several meters, Kali just kept her pace. Oh boy, Leo you gave it a good shot to impress. Kali did let him give her a little kiss on the cheek before they said their goodbyes. The Doggy Business: Kali 1 & 1 and Leo 1 poop and 7 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.43 km DURATION: 1:08:38 I have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, Miss Kali proved that theory to be true. Her human gave me the heads up that she may have more energy today because she ate her breakfast. Watch out Leo here we come with some fuel to burn. Picked up Leo and as usual he was raring to go. We hit the pathway and our new favorite green hills. These two ran like they have been running for years together. They feed off each other and that makes for a smooth and such peaceful run. At one point Kali was rolling and sliding in the grass. Leo looked at her with his head cocked and a very quizzical look " What are you doing?". Then she did it again and slid right under Leo's chest. Leo looked at me "That's not running!". Leo, my dear I think she is trying to get your attention😉. The Doggy Business: Kali no pees and no poop. Leo 1 poop and 5 pees, Runner: Michelle |
