Runkeeper was playing tricks on me again today... delaying our start, and beginning our route in the community below the off-leash park. Our actual time was over 50 minutes, and somewhere around 2.25 kilometres if I had to guess. Today was definitely a wacky Wednesday, starting with Kaiser hiding his usual ball from me prior to my arrival. After settling on a red ball from the backyard, we rushed to the park to soak up this sunny morning. I don’t think we have ever seen so many dogs at the park before! Kai even had a bit of competition today, chasing his ball alongside a friendly Bull Terrier. The laughs were endless, and I even ended up taking off my jacket, only sporting a t-shirt, by the end of the walk. Kacie was full of life today, bouncing and showing how much the sun affected her energy levels. Pink was the one who made the final sprint to the car - an actual ‘sprint’... ahh air conditioning feels so nice. Poops and pees for all, I can’t wait for more fun at the park next week with you three.

After a relaxing long weekend, I was prepared to walk off a belly full of ham and potatoes at the park today with my favourite trio. The walk began slower than ever with the dogs finding a plethora of abandoned belongings to investigate. Although the skies were grey, the sun was shining and kept the air warm. The four of us made our way around the park saying “hello” to friends, old and new. Before one of Kai’s hundred ball tosses today, I went to grab a leaf that hung from his mouth. I sure got more than I bargained for... pulling out not just one leaf, but two leafs attached to a soggy twig, all held together in a ball of mud. It must have been tasty! Poops and pees for all three on this lovely Tuesday morning.

I still cannot get over how gorgeous the weather was this morning for our walk. All four of us were in bright spirits and had pep in our step, hoping for a good day at the park. As time goes on, I continue to learn all of K, K and P’s tricks, habits, and quirks. Kai spotted a little boy and his caregiver and beelined it towards them. I quickly ran over to him as I know dogs can often startle children, and this friendly guy is sure not shy about saying hello. As I arrived to Kaiser’s side, the little boy was giggling, as was his caregiver. As we turned back toward Kacie and Pink, I noticed Pink was about 10 feet away rolling around. She ran over quickly and I noticed half her coat had become a Dalmatian pattern! We spent some time in the backyard washing the dirt/grass combo out of Pink’s fur and then hopped inside for a drink of water. Poops and pees for all three on this park walk of chaos!

Today started off feeling like a bit of a Monday as I misplaced my keys before even getting inside. After overcoming that initial hurdle, we were soon faced by an immediate challenge upon our arrival at the off-leash park. We lost (and then found) Kaiser’s ball. This happened not once, not twice... but THREE times today, which is rare for us considering he hardly takes his eyes off the prize. We only ran into a few other humans and canines along our trek, one of which was DGR athlete Juno, the Husky! Watching the four dogs run around, chase each other and actually ‘play’ was very entertaining (not to mention, looked like some serious fun). Today, may have started like a Monday but it sure ended feeling like a Friday. The scoop: a small poop for Kai, 2 poops for Kacie, and 2 poops for Pink. Pees all around!

If my sources are correct, we are celebrating not one... but TWO birthdays this week! Kacie and Kaiser are another year older, and another year wiser. Kaiser was most definitely feeling his age today, making new friends with a group of young kids. He would soon interrupt their game, running through the middle of their pile of leaves, returning to me, only to turn around and do it all over again... I had to hold back my giggles, and apologize for him trampling on their game. However, most of the kids were laughing, enjoying the show Kai was putting on. Pink was on her best behaviour today, keeping an eye on Kacie to ensure she kept up, while I monitored Kaiser’s playful antics. Half-way through our walk, the sun came out entirely, giving us the shower of warmth we were waiting for! Both Pink and Kacie came over for a little snuggle before we proceeded toward the open area to finish off the walk. Happy Birthday K&K, I am so lucky to have celebrated a little bit with you today. The scoop: pees and poops all around.

Yesterday, I forgot to even mention how incredible Pink’s new haircut is! The mohawk-type do that she is sporting sure fits her spunky personality. Today was quite a laid-back day at the park. We took it easy; making our way around the perimeter and enjoying the gorgeous weather. We ran into a young girl named Zoey, accompanied by her mother. As I leashed up Kai to prevent him from knocking her over (out of love), we soon found out that Zoey loves dogs and often comes to the park to meet, and pet, as many pups as possible. She was thrilled to say hello to Pink, Kacie, and Kaiser. Her mom thanked us; saying it would be the best part of her day. We were glad to have been in the right place at the right time today, and to have met little Zoey! The scoop: 1 poop for Kacie, 2 poops for Pink, no poops for Kai, and lots of pees for all!

What an exciting day at the dog park! We took a bit of a different approach today; parking down the block and walking on-leash over to the designated doggy area. At first, we did not see another soul in sight, thinking we had the place to ourselves. We were soon joined by what looked like a beautiful German Shepherd X (according to my non-extensive dog breed knowledge) with similar colouring to Kacie and Kaiser. This dog’s owner was not close-by, so the dog stuck with our gang for a while, chasing after Kai’s ball, nuzzling up with Kacie and giving me a few friendly kisses. Before long, her owner emerged from the forested area and off she went, running to catch up. All of a sudden, the park was filled with dogs and their humans. Luckily, I was able to convince my companions to join me back up the hill. If this did not occur, I feel like we would still be in the park playing! The scoop: poops and pees for all!

Oh boy, here it goes. I have been dreading this final blog, so I am going to just get it over with. What do you say, gang, one last hurrah at our favourite park!? They cheered in unison as we piled into the car off to Edworthy Park. It's been a while since we've been there, so I figured we better go out with a bang! It was the perfect morning for a run in the park. It was doggie galore! Kaiser's ball was a hot commodity which attracted some unwanted attention. However, Kaiser being the fabulous boy that he is, played along for a little. The Duffy Dogs are so social that they absolutely loved meeting all their new pals. Pinky and her new Westie friend, McDuff, really hit it off! I must say, they made quite the couple! Kacey was thrilled about the wooded area; she loves to explore and get lost in her own little world. As time went on, we stopped for a breather along the ridge and exchanged a few big hugs. I am the worst at goodbyes, so I wanted to avoid the topic as much as possible. With only a few tears shed, I was soon smothered by Pinky kisses, as she assured me we'd all be friends forever. Thanks for all the laugh over the years, guys. I love you all very much!! This isn't goodbye but see you later. The scoop: poops and pees all around!

Nothing feels better than the heat of the sun on your back. Today, was full of sunshine, giggles, and everything nice! I don’t want to jinx anything, however, the four of us sure felt like summer weather was just around the corner. The park was full of other dogs, from Australian Shepherds to Black Labs; the number of friends to play with was endless! We did take a couple breaks in the shade for Kaiser’s sake, as his tongue hung so far out his mouth, it practically touched the ground. Pink was sprinting faster than ever today; chasing nearly every toss of Kai’s ball. Kacie and I enjoyed watching the two of them chase together, and leisurely walked side by side for most of the outing. Pinky was definitely the pack leader today; choosing our route and leading us down different paths. I am thrilled for more sunshine in our future. Poops and pees for all!

Happy SPRING, Kaiser, Kacie, and Pink!! What a wonderful day for the park. And even better, we had the whole place to ourselves. This mucky wonderland was the oasis we needed today. It made for some tremendous slushy ball hunting, mud spraying, sprinting and topping it all off with crusty brown grass covering us from head to toe. You gotta love springtime! It was nice to see the dry, open fields where Kaiser can really get moving as he chases after the ball. Not slip-sliding and snow today! This warmer weather is a treat for Pink and me. However, for the Rotties, it was a little toasty on their black coats. Kacie took her time taking in the sights, and Kaiser took plenty of much-needed rests in the slush. To top the day off, we had all the windows down on the way home — even a few honks from other cars admiring the tongue out exhausted pups taking in the fresh air. Today was great, gang! Thanks! I'll see you guys again next week. The scoop: poops and pees all around!

Sorry for the photo overload today... we just had so much fun in the sun today! I could hardly decide on which pictures to post, considering I took nearly 20. ‘Mom’ and I chatted briefly before the four of us ventured to the park, and we both knew what would be in store; MUD, MUD, and more MUD! Some of the park had already dried up, however, the rest of the park was practically covered in (yup, you guessed it) MUD. While Kacie and I were happy to calmly soak up the sun, Kai was revved up for a full hour of ball chasing, with Pink chasing close behind. All three of my furry friends were happy as can be today; bouncing around and playing often. Towards the end of our walk, we ran into a lady who explained that there was a dog wandering around alone. With two other dog owners and their puppy pals, we helped search the park in hopes of finding this dog’s owner. After 10 minutes, we did not have any luck reuniting the two, but luckily this lonesome pup was wearing tags! We spent quite a bit of time de-mudding ourselves once we got home, but it was well worth it! Poops and pees for all.

Happy Wednesday, Gang! It's been a couple of weeks since I've seen your lovely faces. I've missed you!! It sure is great to be out frolicking around the park on a beautiful warm, sunny day, isn't it?! And it only goes up from here. 15 degrees next week! Can you guys believe it?! I'll be in shorts and shades!! Today, we zoomed around the park chasing the ball and each other. The slushy snow made for some very entertaining catch attempts on Kaiser’s end but us girls loved it. It was good for a laugh and thankfully he was exhausted by the end. So grateful for spring days and warm walks at the park with my faves, K K& P. See you guys next week. Get ready to get your tans on!! The scoop: poops and pees all around.

My Tuesday walks with Kacie, Kaiser. and Pink never lack excitement. While the park was eerily quiet today, especially for a balmy zero degrees, we made use of all the space and room to explore. We stopped only once for a brief pause at a bench, otherwise we walked, hopped, and stumbled non-stop. I say stumbled because of the re-frozen snow, which has now turned into more of an ice rink. Towards the end of our walk, we finally ran into some other civilization. Crossing paths with three other small packs of dogs, and running into my coworker and his wife! (Talk about a small world). Kacie made a new friend named Larry, a long-haired, larger pup. On the car ride home, the only thing anyone could hear was the sound of Kai panting. What a great day at the park. I think we all got tired out after that one. Poops and pees for all!

Happy Wednesday, Gang! Today is a special day; today marks two years as your guide, best pal, adventure seeker, drill sergeant, and dog runner! And how very fitting our park day falls on our anniversary. You three have been there with me since the beginning, and I could not be more thankful for your always wagging tails and happy faces. These last two years have been incredible, and I am so glad that I can call you three friends. Today was a beautiful sun shining day; exploring the park. It is basically summer out there gang! -3C makes it feel like a Mexican vacation! Not entirely...but I'll take anything warmer than what its been. We spent the day hustling around the park, searching for the ball - high and low as it would disappear into the mounds of snow. These elements added a little more excitement to the ball throwing and kept Mr. Kai a little more occupied! I love it, we love it, YAY for park walks! Well, Duffy's - Happy Anniversary and here's to many more years as best pals! The scoop: poops and pees all around, hurray!
