DGR RUN OF THE DAY # 1
DISTANCE: 2.3 km DURATION: 52 minutes
What a busy outing today for me, Kacie, Kaiser and Pink! Thankfully, the weather seems to have warmed up a bit since yesterday. I was very glad for the warmer temperatures considering one of my fingers decided to poke a hole in my glove at the start of our walk. We ran into a familiar and friendly dog owner around the park. As we approached, I soon realized something was wrong as four of his dogs seemed to be searching around and their owner was calling out for one of them to return. Once we knew his beloved Beagle « Nigel » was missing in action, we joined the search and began to examine the park. With extra eyes and ears helping out, we quickly located Nigel. Kacie and Pink were thanked for their efforts with a liver treat, while Kai politely declined. As we made our way back up to the ridge, we were passed by a young man who giggled and complimented Pinky on her outfit. I am not sure if it was because of how cute she looked or because the man had a matching red jacket on... All-in-all, it was a fantastic day with the three amigos! The Scoop: 2 poops for Pink, 2 poops for Kacie, 0 poops for Kai, and many pees for all three.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY # 2
DISTANCE: 2.8 km DURATION: 59 minutes
Happy Halloween Kacie, Kai and Pinky! I always wondered what dogs think of Halloween; a bunch of people in costumes, doorbells ringing nonstop, even some are dressed up by their owners. This morning’s walk sure felt warmer than a normal October 31st in Calgary. The four of us meandered around the park, enjoying the beautiful sun as it continued to rise. We wandered for a while before finding ourselves back on a proper trail. There were mostly only large dogs at the park today, one ran up to Kaiser hoping to get a game of chase started. Kai ignored the dog (as he often does when there is a ball in his mouth), however, Pink was eager to take Kaiser’s place and ran around with the large dog instead. We had a blast today and I am so grateful for these three for getting me moving in the morning. The scoop: 1 poop, 4 pees for Kacie, 1 poop, 8 pees for Pink, & 5 pees for Kai.
I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kacie, Kaiser and Pink this week and it was a blast! These three have their own distinct personalities and it's so fun playing with them, and seeing how they interact with each other. Kaiser seems to have gotten more snuggly since the last time I stayed over, and it was nice to cuddle up with him while watching TV. Every now and again he'd surprise me with a big juicy kiss on the chin. He had a blast playing ball, and likes to crunch around in the piles of leaves, just like a little kid! Kacie, the house protector, is always close by and has the most fantastic purr when being pet! She loves her veggie desserts after mealtimes, and may have been able to score an extra one here and there. She also loves to sleep, and needs a bit of encouragement to get her butt out of bed in the mornings. Finally, we have Pink. Pink is small but mighty, and more than holds her own with her much larger siblings. This little one is most content when cuddled up on my lap, or nearly perched on my shoulders. She also loves to rip around after the ball (or perhaps she's just chasing Kaiser?!) and it is a riot to watch as she follows along after Kacie. It was great to have the chance to spend some time with these three again!

Happy Election Day Chicklets. When I first arrived at Kacie, Pink and Kaiser’s home, I do not believe they were interested in that fact. When we went for our morning walk the election signs did prove more interesting. Some even got a watering.🤣 Do not worry I won't tell who you favoured. These 3 are so photogenic, I was always taking my phone out to snap a quick pick. The afternoon had some couch snuggles where Pink curled up in between my bent knees. Miss Kacie slept beside my head. Poor Kaiser had the very end of the couch. It was such a great day outside, it was a MUST to hit Nosehill. Kaiser got the the pet bed in the back of the jeep. Lots more room back there for you, hey Kaiser? Kacie had the whole middle section. Keeping an eye on everything. Miss Pink, well......she had to be co-pilot. These 3 are so much fun to be around. Thanks for spending Election Day with me. I left them all tucked in bed, ready for Christine's arrival.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2
DISTANCE: 2.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes
Hi Kids!! Ready for school? Today's first class is PE. Kaiser gave me an exuberant welcome and agreed with this idea 100%. Pink came and said,” Hi Michelle, you have to put on my gym clothes ”. Also, Miss Pink was wanting belly belly rubs before any activity was to happen. The gentle Kacie told Kai when he was hogging all the walker's attention 🤣. It just cracks me up when Kacie does this. Oh, that little brother. Okay class, time to get the blood moving and breath in lots of warm ’ish’ weather. Kai did decide to have a little rest halfway through. Great job everyone. Tomorrow is an adventure to Nosehill. All the kids had lots of pees. Just 1 poop today (not 2) and that was by Miss Pink.

Lions and tigers and COYOTES, oh my! Let’s just say, I was not expecting today’s walk with Kacie, Kaiser and Pink to go the way it did. All three pups spent an awful lot of time sniffing around and « dilly-dallying », compared to usual (even Kai with a ball in his mouth). Only 10 minutes into our escapade at the park, I saw what I thought to be a Husky-mixed dog hopping through the grass. On second glance, I realized it was in fact a coyote... and a rather big one! I quickly leashed up Pink and changed plans for today’s route. We stuck to the ridge, away from the dense trees, making sure to communicate our findings with other dog owners as we passed. We ran into ‘Foxy’ and her mama, a couple of familiar faces that we have the joy of seeing every so often. After looping back and making one small descent into an open field for Kaiser to get a few extra ball tosses in, we made our way to the car; wiping off our muddy paws. At this rate, the snow will be gone by this time tomorrow! Thankfully, we never ran into the coyote again and fingers crossed he/she finds a less active place to hangout. The Scoop: 1 poop & 6 pees for Kacie, 1 poop & 8 pees for Pink, and about 6 pees for Kaiser.
I have been looking forward to my Staycation with Kacie, Kaiser and Pink for quite some time now! After arriving in the morning and getting settled in, I took my three furry friends to our favourite hangout; the off-leash park. The first day was spent playing, fetching, chasing and chewing on toys, just the way it should be. Kaiser was anxious at first of leaving my side, thinking I would leave him at any moment as our time spent together is normally only on walks and briefly at home. After a few hours and realization that I was not going anywhere soon, Kai was relieved and able to calm down, enjoying cuddles on the couch. In the evening, after some more play-time (even Kacie joined in, chasing after her stuffy) I figured I would have a chance to get in a quick workout while the pups rested... Silly me! In between exercises, I would pass the ball around with Kai and roll the Kong toy for Pink, getting in some extra cardio. Pinky never ceases to make me smile, especially when she runs around with heavy chew toys in her mouth that are probably half her weight! Although he tried and tried, Kacie would not allow Kai to comfortably sleep on the bed with her, Pink and me (I don't blame her, it was already pretty snug). Instead he slept right beside the bed on his doggy bed, making sure I dangled my arm off the side so that he could touch me and cover me with slobber periodically. I had such a blast with you three and time sure flew by! I can't wait to see you guys next week, thanks for making my stay so much fun.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 2.6 km DURATION: 56 minutes
Another chilly morning meant I had to bundle up and get Pink dressed in her sweater, before we ventured out today. With Pink’s leash in my pocket, we had freedom to roam the park without worry and were able to strap her to me whenever needed. The cold weather had us moving a bit slower than the past few outings, but this gave us a chance to take in our surroundings and breathe in the fresh air deeply. Kacie befriended a gorgeous Golden Retriever up on the ridge, while Kai and Pinky fought over who could get more attention from those passing by. It was a very peaceful morning walk; a great way to start our day! The scoop: 1 poop each and 8+ pees each!
I spent the weekend with Kaiser and Kacie, and it was fabulous! These two are such sweet pups, and both loved all the pets and cuddles they could get! Kaiser is in love with balls, especially orange ones and we had a lot of fun playing fetch! He also seems to like playing pass with his paws and the ball which is pretty comical! As usual, Kacie loved getting head and neck rubs and responds with a sort of purr. She has also taken to snoring at night, which took a bit of getting used to. We enjoyed some walks and playtime at the park, as well as cuddles on the couch in the evenings, and snuggles at night. Kaiser and Kacie are such well behaved dogs; it's a pleasure to spend time with them!

I was very much so looking forward to my weekend with the the trio of Kaiser, Kacie and Pink. When I arrived in the morning, Pinky (as always) was so excited to see me. She does this little wagging tail, get low kind of dance that makes me smile. Meanwhile, Kai is running through my legs and Kacie is telling him to stop. Always an introduction with those three! The weather was on and off for most of the weekend so we tried to make the best of it whenever we could! Mom told me there were coyotes in some of the off-leash areas we normally frequent, so I kept an extra close eye on Miss P! In fact, I would take the girls on their own then take Kai out on his own for some one on one bonding (ball) time. We all got caught in the rain a couple times, which no one seemed to really care! The girls were funny when it came to bed-time. Pinky needed to be on the pillow while Kacie politely laid at the end of the bed. Kaiser would try to get close, which resulted in Pink going to his face to bark and growl, and Kacie showing him her teeth from the comfort of her spot. Sorry Kai, I guess this is a GIrls' Slumber Party! Kai and I even made amends at the end of each day with him laying down and staying there as I exited the house. This was a great success for BOTH of us. Thanks for all the slobbery kisses all weekend guys!

After « Mom » warned us about the tragic coyote incident and bobcat sighting near the off-leash park, I was on high-alert and made sure to adjust our game-plan. We stuck to open areas and the top of the park and once we approached the denser, wooded areas I made sure to leash up Pink and Kacie just to be safe. While Kacie did not seem to mind being leashed to me, I could tell that Pink was not thrilled with being attached to both me and her sister (however, she still looked absolutely adorable in her pig sweater). Once we reached another open field, I removed the leash from Pinky and it was as if she had never tasted freedom before. She was bounding up and down, chasing around her brother and hopping through my legs. I was so glad to see her feel relaxed and happy once again; she was now able to enjoy the remainder of our walk. The scoop: 1 poop & 5 pees for Kacie, 1 poop & 7 pees for Pink, and 3 pees for Kaiser!
DISTANCE: 2.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 7 minutes
Hi Kids🐾. Kacie, Kaiser, and Pink started their week off early with DGR Pet Sitter Cayley taking them out for a walk. No wonder the pep energy meter is a 6 out of 10😊. First, we needed to rescue Miss Pink from the upstairs bedroom where she was waiting patiently behind the door. All kids accounted for, let's walk. Miss Kacie did brilliant and spent 1/2 the hour doing a big square loop. The pee record was interesting because wherever one peed the other two did too. I was wearing a jacket (a tad chilly to start) so I thought Pink would need her little pig sweater too. PLUS she looks so cute strutting her stuff in it. Kaiser the big love-bug had to have to hugs today. He went straight through my legs and then gave him a squeeze. Pink was the only one who pooped. Kacie & Kaiser did this a.m. There were multiple pees for all.

Our walk today was off to a slow start as we spent some time searching for one of Kai’s balls to bring to the park. “Mom” helped us find a brand-spanking new ball for our walk today, what a lucky boy! We were further delayed by “Mom” and I chatting, until all three pups had had enough and encouraged me out the door. Finally getting our walk going, we enjoyed a gorgeous day with the sun beating down on us. Thankfully, all of yesterday’s dew had dried up. We ran into a few other dogs along our path, one that Pink particularly got along with... I swear the two of them could have played for hours if the other dog’s owner and myself had not walked off in opposite directions. Kacie, Kai and Pink shared a full water bottle at the end of the walk and panted the whole car-ride home. I could tell today was a good day in their books (and mine too)! The Scoop: 1 poop for Kacie and Pink, and many pees for all three pups!

It has been a few weeks since I last saw my favourite trio and I was eagerly looking forward to our reunion this morning. As expected, Kaiser greeted me at the door with Pink and Kacie close behind. Within a matter of minutes, the four of us were back to our groove; peacefully wandering around the park. I had no idea the park would be so wet, drenching both my feet and Kai’s coat each time he laid down to rest. Pink was her usual bubbly self, bounding around and barking at her siblings whenever she wanted to play. Kacie showed off her famous smile throughout the walk, as the four of us enjoyed the refreshing summer morning. Not very much commotion to report from the off-leash today, other than a brief « hello » to a pair of adorable Shiba Inus. Today’s Scoop: 1 poop for Pink, 2 poops for Kacie, 0 poops for Kai and 5+ pees each.
I got to see some of my favourite pups Thursday night. I arrived right around dinner and the girls and Kai knew exactly what time it was. After dinner I took the girls for an evening walk around the block then went back to repeat with Kai. We had an early night and watch Netflix in bed. Cuddle party! Friday morning , we did another loop around the block before I had to dash to work. Michelle came by in the afternoon to take the dogs out again, then as soon as I got back from work we were off to the off-leash park for some much needed BALL! It was pretty toasty out so we didn't last long. When all dogs were lying in the shade I knew we were tired and it was home time! It was another early night for us. I could get used to this). Dinner and movies and another stroll for final pees before bed. Pinky and Kacie would always correct Kai anytime he got excited around me, thanks ladies! Saturday was hot out. I walked the girls to our old stomping ground (the OG off-leash) where I spent some quality time with Kacie and Pink. These two always make me smile. I love that Pink's mohawk is back in full force! Afterwards, Kaiser and I went for a long walk to the other park and played with the ball. Kai is so funny to watch run, he looks like an antelope bouncing in the long grass locating his ball lol. I have not seen a Rottweiler love the game of fetch so much! Sunday was a repeat of all our other days together, but my friend joined us on the morning walk. We had all three dogs and an iced coffee in hand. We walked zig-zags throwing the ball. Pink and Kai ran after it and Kacie slowly strolled beside me. We didn't encounter any dogs during any of our walks, which was surprising to me! all and all, I think we all enjoyed out weekend together!
