Finally a break in the weather, I picked up Jax today and I think I interrupted him napping. What else are you gonna do on such a yucky day? Jax wasn't really into running much today so it was one of those let's just do the best we can days. We didn't run into one person so I figured I'd let him off the leash and as soon as I threw a stick.... The real Jax came out! It was nice to see because it will be the last time😢 Yes Jax is moving to Toronto today I was told, I'm gonna miss him.. 4 poos and the usual many pees. Take care Jax your quite the character😁 You will be missed.!

My university bound son Noah joined Jax and I on a run through Wildwood and the trails parallel to the Douglas Fir Trail. Some of the highlights include: a coyote spotting, running into Kayto and Tracy, and watching Jax leap for joy over a doggy cookie treat. Jax definitely deserved this reward as his running today was stellar. He ran at a such a nice pace and stayed really focused and happy, He had two occasions to roll in gross things but we caught him in time, Phew! I have been feeling pretty lucky as I keep finding the no rain windows of time to run these amazing dogs! I thought we tired Jax out but when we took his harness off at home, he grabbed it to play. I just exchanged another small doggy cookie treat for the harness and he was happy to let me have the harnesss back. The business report: 2 poops and 14 pees ( I counted).

Happy Monday! Jax and I got a lucky break with the weather this afternoon. We managed to avoid the rain😁 It was a fairly quiet run today I suspect everyone is stampeding or still recovering from the weekend. So Jax and I made our way to the river. He rolled and chewed for a bit, then he thought we should make our way up to the dog park. Well that's where all the action was! Poor Jax was humped by more than one dog😳( Stampede?) Moving along we ran into a cutie named Casper who was completely obsessed with Jax and he was okay with it for a while. He gave me a look and I knew it was time to go. 4 poos and the usual many pees. Thanks Jax! I had a good time today.

So I picked Jax up today and he was absolutely ecstatic to see me, I've never gotten so many kisses😊! Bouncing around n my head I thought this was going to be a record breaking run for us! Do you think dogs know that it's stampede? I think Jax does...We were making great time even with all the sniffing and pooping. So I figured Jax needed some well deserved off-leash time, JAX here boy! Oh, he came back alright with a big grin on his face. Why? Because he rolled in a big pile of 💩!!! And then he wanted a treat. Off to the river we went. Jax isn't real big on swimming so that was interesting but I had to get some of that stuff off. HE WAS STINKY! After that it was all about sticks, rolling and treats as long as we're moving Jax. We made our way up to the dog park and then home. 4 poops and lots of pees. Happy Stampeding Jax!

The different personalities of Jax! I saw a few today... Haha! There is the thinking mode: where he stands, looks one way and then the other than at me. The freeze mode: he'll actually stop (even in the middle of an intersection) and not move an inch. There is no negotiating with him... unless you say "treat"! The goofy mode: when he finds a stick, and goes wild in the ground while making the funniest expressions! The rolling mode: once he starts, there is no stopping him! Diving mode: sort of coincides with rolling as he "dives" into his role. Haha and that Sweet Big-Brown-Eyes mode: yes, at the end of a run, when he sits, ears perked and waits patiently for his treat. *sigh* 😍 Always an amazing adventure with Jax!! The Scoop: 4 poops, several pees.

Jax and I were in the mood to run today but the weather didn't cooperate! We started off at a fairly descent pace down the hill to the river. Jax had a drink and a 3 min roll I have no idea what was there but he sure liked it! And then it started to rain and thunder so we quickly made our way to some shelter. Jax and I waited there for a good 15 to 20 min and when I felt it was safe to go I stopped Runkeeper😳(perhaps I killed a few brain cells on the weekend) Oh well! Jax and I got some good distance in today despite the weather. 3 poos and plenty of pees Happy Monday Jax!

After a few stretches, and some famous Jax body shakes, Jax was ready to roll! However, perhaps it was the heat of the day, but today, Jax easily stopped 20 times for nature breaks in the 1st km… Haha! Once he got that settled, he was more focused and we made our way down to the river. The river was a welcome on such a warm day! I paused Runkeeper to play fetch with a stick, throwing it into the water… That was so much fun for Jax!! We dipped into the river a few times afterward as well, just to cool off. It was so needed!! At one point, Jax had enough fun as he plopped himself in the shade of a tree and just looked at me. I knew it was time to go home at that point... LOL! A good run over all! The scoop: 5x poos and many pees.

Hello handsome! Jax and I had a fairly uneventful run this afternoon which was okay. . We were both a bit on the ornery side today😳 He wanted to go his way and I wanted to go my way so, of course we all know who wins that battle every time!!! I do believe he has me wrapped around his paw (like everyone said on Friday). Jax and I also watched some ladies body surfing in the river for a while, We both thought they were a little crazy! And of course I told them😂 4 poo's and lots of pee's today. Happy Monday!

Jax was in a very zen mood today. It was weird. I've never seen this side of him. He was so focused on running ,well, at least for the first 4km and then the Jaxisms came out😂. Thank goodness it wouldn't have been the same without the entertainment! But for the most part Jax and I had a fantastic run, I'm thinking he wanted to finish before the rain came😜 and we finished just in time! 5 poo's and the usual peeing on everything. Have a great weekend and thanks for the great run today my friend!

It was a Water Wednesday! I'm talking about drinking water…haha! Both Jax and I could not get enough! Good thing I took my fuel belt with extra water, as it came in handy. We ran down to the river for a sip and dip. Jax was in and out a few times... the cold flowing water was likely soothing and refreshing… Then, thank goodness for my little portable doggie dish!! Yup! Another helping of water for this guy!! Sips, dips, slurps and gulps! All in a span of an hour! It was just that kind of day!! The scoop: Jax pooped X 4 & peed several times.

Hello Jax! Being a warmer day, I knew Jax and I weren't going to set any speed records today. He prefers the cooler weather so we did the riverbank shuffle! But on one of those banks Jax went into a rolling frenzy. He was rolling like it was his last roll ever!!!! Why because it was on a dead fish😳 Jax was off-leash so I didn't realize it until it was too late, (my bad). Oh Jax you smell so fresh. Sorry! 5 poo's and lots of pees. Thanks for the laughs my friend.

Second run of the day for me and first time meeting Jax! I'd seen so many hilarious photos of him that I knew I was in for a treat today which is just what I needed to keep my legs going! He seemed a bit reserved when I first picked him up but he warmed up quickly and we were off! I've learned that Jax is the poster child for what to do if you ever are caught on fire. Stop, drop and roll! He was just loving life and having a grand 'ol time finding any spot to roll around in. I couldn't stop laughing, one time he bounced up and then went head first into a somersault! He's got some serious moves. We got a surprise visit from Tammy on our way out and he was pretty excited to say hello so that was a nice little pitstop and then we continued on to Edworthy and after did a tour of the neighbourhood! Three poops and more pees than I thought possible in one go!

Sticks and river slurps! What dog doesn't like either of these!? This was the highlight for Jax on our run. When I mentioned the river to him, it was as if he knew exactly what I said, and we couldn't get there fast enough. Once there, all 4 paws were in the water, I could see that the ice cold river drink was just what he needed!! He didn't even notice the tree branch beside him until after a very long drink. But, when he did notice, he got down to business!! Watching his attempt to drag the branch out of the water was priceless. One thing about Jax though, is that he is a thinker, and is very smart!! He figured that if he broke the small branches off the big one, it would make a difference, making it easier to drag the "big stick" out of the water!! This busied him for some time!! Haha. Always a fun adventure with this guy!! The Scoop: Jax pooped x3, and peed tons.

One of the beauty of running dogs throughout Calgary is discovering new routes and getting to know all the nooks and crannies of Calgary. Jax was staying at a friend's house so as we ran today we discovered some great trails though Highland Park, Queen Anne 's Cemetery (gorgeous!) and then into Confederation Park (beautiful)!. I decided to give Jax some stick throwing, off-leash playtime prior to setting off for a run which I think worked really well, He is so playful as evidenced by the lead photo in this post. This strategy also gave him time to do some of his business which meant 6 (yes 6) poops and numerous pees. Once we left Highland Park we could go for a steady and fast run and he ran like a dream. It felt like a perfect Saturday run with lots of sunshine and no cares in the world. At our turn around point Jax joined the ducks in a stream for a short dip and then we were off and running. We looped back through Highland Park and had one final stop to great 2 boy puppies that wee pretty adorable. See the poop scoop above. Thanks Jax for a great start to my weekend and exploring new turf with me, You and one in a million!

Although there is a green space right near where Jax is staying, I figured he needed a change of scenery. So our adventure took us to Laycock Park, and back. On the way, we came across the ground being completely covered in white. It was just the fluff from the trees that had fallen to the ground. The pic captured what Jax thought of it, then, he proceeded to roll in it!!! Ha!! I think the best part today was when we came across a field filled with gopher holes. Well, we know what gopher holes have!! They were communicating back and forth with each other which was making Jax quite excited! Seeing him run from hole to hole reminded me of the game "Whack a Mole"!! Popping their heads up, then disappearing as Jax became close to them. Quite an amusing little game they were having!! 😆 Jax didn't want to leave with all the fun he was having!!! 🐾A great adventure today for sure. The scoop: 4 poops and lots of pees.
