DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes
Bowmont AND Baker Park!! Now that is what Huxley calls a good time. Hux Pup, you and I have to take in this glorious day. To the river my friend. The pics tell the whole story. As per usual, Huxley was one happy pooch.🐾 . The Scoop: 11 pees, 1 poo.
Editor's Note: The Runs of the Day were both chosen for their excellent photos!
DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 5.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 18 minutes
Hi Hux Pup, I have missed you!! Today, you are all mine to soak up that super energy you have. Now don't you worry, I have grand plans for you & me next week. To give you some other doggy playtime, we will stop at my house. You can have a quick play with Aoife (our pup) before Nosehill. Huxley always leads ME to the park - it just cracks me up. It made a total stranger stop us and admire Huxley and asked where Huxley was taking me?😍. Glad you're back Huxley! The Scoop: 1 poo, 6 pees.
DISTANCE: 5.2 km . DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes
It was another ’Thursday Bestie’s Outing.’ except with a twist!! The first pick up was Miss Marley, who met Aoife for the first time. The next pick up was Huxley, who was so happy Marley was already in the Jeep. He also gave Aoife a quick ”Hi”. Finally, Nosehill. It was worth the wait, right!! A quick game of chase, of course swimming time, and then on to all the great smells. We met up with a pack (about 9 X our size) with only one leader/walker. Huxley, Marley, and I discussed how we much prefer our smaller pack. The Scoop: 3 pees.
DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes
Michelle?!?! Is that you?? But, it’s Tuesday!! Hi Huxley, your mom has a treat for you. You, Chester and I are headed for Nosehlll. Huxley was one happy pup. He just loves Nosehill where he runs and runs. That smile on his face is priceless 🥰. Today he went through a lot of burrs. We are going to stop at my house and try to get some of them out before taking Huxley home. Another spectacular outing with the boys🐾. The Scoop: 7 pees, 1 poo. P.S. That is DGR Dog Chester joining Huxley for this romp in Nosehill.
DISTANCE: 5.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 14 minutes
Hip Hip Hurray!! The Thursday Besties are reunited. Huxley just knew that today was the day. He patiently waited ’in Marley’s’ seat for her to jump in. The kids were so happy to hit ”THEIR PLAYGROUND”.🤣 . The Scoop: 8 pees, 1 poo.
DISTANCE: 6.10 km DURATION: 59:37
It is a Nosehill Trail Run Day!! Hux Pup was more than ready to go and left the house and jumped into the Jeep. It did not take long for the heat to hit Huxley. My little Energizer Bunny laid down a total of 5 times today. The first 3 kms were good, but at our first water stop Huxley laid down and wrapped his paws around the dish. Awww, so cute, I understand Huxley - it is hot. We jogged from then on and hit the shady side of the hill and that was where Huxley would find the tallest green grass and plop down onto it. Sometimes a wee little roll would follow. We hit the parking lot at the 6K mark. You are such a great dog and you did fantastic today. Let's pop up to Tail Blazers and find a treat. As you can see Huxley was fairly happy to get to the pet store. Good trail run my friend. The Doggy Business Report: 2 poops, 5 pees, 4 water bottles, and some liver treats🐾.
DISTANCE: 7.17 km DURATION: 1:10:45
Hello Huxley Pup! It was so great to receive your happy smile and boundless energy. Hux came to the Jeep to see if Marley was there. Sorry boy, she is still on holidays. Let's run down to the pond and we will go swimming. It was a muggy day out today and going down hill to the pond was super fun. This was where a new doggy wanted to be friends with Huxley. Hux was okay with him tagging along, but this was no replacement for his Bestie, Marley. Okay Huxley, ready for the big hill up to home? Well, this did slow us down a fair amount. Huxley's spunk had dissipated a fair amount with the heat and all the swimming. No worries, jogging is just as good. Just an easy breezy outing today with lots of sniffs, new doggy friends, and swimming. Next week, we are heading to Nosehill, I promise. Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and 7 pees.
DISTANCE: 8.81 km DURATION: 1:22:04
Hux, I have some good news and some not great news. Good News, I am back and it is our Thursday run date!!🐾 The disappointing news is Miss Marley is on holidays and we won't have her with us. I wanted to make today special to make up for Huxley’s Bestie, not with us. Let's head over to Scenic Acres off-leash for some trail running. Well, that was fun but now we are super hot. Next adventure was some Tuscany Coulee Crawling (borrowing that term from another DGR runner🤣). Huxley was in and out of the creek like a bunny rabbit. He ran up and down the side of the hill, bouncing along. We both had mud up to our knees and squishy wet feet. Success, we had fun!!! Huxley was tired on the last three blocks to home. Great to see you again my friend. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and several pees.
DISTANCE: 4.34 km DURATION: 34:31 Huxley and Snowy
DISTANCE: 6.68 km DURATION: 1:13:26 Huxley and Marley B.
Huxley & Snowy 11.02 kms. Time: 1 hour, 47 min Birthday Girl Marley: 6.68 kms Time 1 hour 13 min.Hi Huxley, I have a "Mini You, by the name of Snowy waiting in the car to meet you." These two Doodles went out for a quick zip to burn up some energy before the Birthday Celebrations. People thought Snowy was Huxley's Pup 🤣. Off to get Marley and celebrate her 11th Birthday. I tried to tell Snowy that he better move, because Marley has HER spot in the Jeep, no problem, he skedaddled over and let Marley have her spot. Huxley and Marley love to celebrate birthdays. I do not have any idea how they know when that is what we are doing but they do. Three birthday games always get played. 1st - Marley barks at Huxley to chase her. 2nd - Marley always gets a stick from the water. 3rd - they place tug-a-war with said stick. We go out every Thursday and these three things never happen except on Birthday Celebrations. Plus today we added on another 1.5 kms to our usual distance. Sleeping poochies now. The Doggy Business Report: Huxley had 2 poop and lots of pees. Marley had 1 poop and about 4 pees. Snowy was holding everything in.🐾
Hi Hux!! It's Friday so pack your suitcase. We are going to have some weekend fun!! No worries with Huxley as he is game for anything. Off to pick up his Bestie Marley B. for a walk and several dips in the ponds. Saturday was a trip to the pet store so Huxley could pick a treat or two. He is such a gem - he deserves lots. Couch cuddles and movies for our Saturday Night delights. Sunday came along and BAM it was action action. First thing was running free at Nosehill. Runkeeper said 5 kms - Huxley says he covered at least 7 or 8 kms. I will vouch for him! After a little Sunday Siesta puppy time. Huxley came with me to take DGR Dog Little Lola for her outing. These two were spectacular together. I see more outings in the future for sure. Huxley deserved an early dinner after that busy day. Dad picked him up and he sauntered to the vehicle. Don't worry Huxley you have a few days to rest up before we meet again. A big shout out to the Third Place Warriors - great job. This is one of Huxley's human family members.
Pet Sitter: Michelle
DISTANCE: 2.48 km . DURATION: 1:02:07
Happy Sunday Little L. I have a BIG surprise for you. On today's outing, I brought along my weekend house guest, DGR Dog Huxley. To say there is a size difference is an understatement! I knew these two would get on famously. Huxley is such a gentle soul and Little Lola is such a sweet pea, I wanted them to have some space to play. Lola became the Master of the Leashes and tried very hard to carry hers & his in her mouth. I know you are becoming a big girl, but that's a bit over the top😊. We got to the green space where they stayed connected but were able to sniff. Huxley rolled and Lola played with him. I think Hux knew he had to come down to her level. A sweet pair to spend an hour with. The Doggy Business Report: Lola had a pee.
DISTANCE: 5.50 km DURATION: 1:17:07
Today's topic of conversation, of course was about the weather! What is it about 'wet' that doggies love soooooo much. Huxley was full of jumping beans and Miss Marley's 'Spunk Meter' was charging pretty good. Michelle on the other hand, had NO beans in her and could have used a triple espresso and the beach to rev up her spunk meter to at least a 2 or 3. Huxley loves to spring like a deer through the tall wet green grass. (mean while Michelle adds another layer of waterproof clothing). Marley is in heaven with the wet grass and the smell. She would plunge into the grass head first and then roll, shake, and smile. Michelle, ties up her hood even tighter🤣. Huxley and Marley enjoyed the vegetarian delights of lush wet grass. I am going to assume that this is like a big salad, but I will pass on these greens. I must admit after 15 minutes into our walk in the glorious Griffith Woods I was starting to appreciate the allure of 'wet'. My buddies are completely responsible for enlightening me. Thank You🙏🏻 Same time, same place tomorrow? The Doggy Business Report: Huxley & Marley had 1 poop each. Huxley out-peed Marley 5 to 1.
DISTANCE: 4.51 km DURATION: 1:02:02
🐾Oodles and Oodles of Doodle Love.🐾 Hi Huxley, if we hurry to your surprise we may, miss the rain. Huxley was ready to go, but he thought he was going to pick up his Thursday Bestie. Surprise, we are at my house! Plus, who pops out into the backyard to greet Huxley......his Doodle friend Oliver. Oliver has been staying with us since Monday. I was so glad that we could pair these two up again. We walked over to Nosehill and the closer we got, Huxley was getting more and more excited. When we finally got within the park and it was safe to unleash, they both ran like crazy. It is safe to say that Ooodles of Doodles is a lovely way to spend a rainy day. They ran all over and sniffed EVERYTHING! What I thought was so unique, is they both had ALL of Nosehill to pee on. No way - it had to be on top of the spot who ever first went. Then it was synchronized peeing trying to hit the same spot. Boys Boys...... Got to love the Oodles of Doodles. It can be confirmed that Oliver went back to our place for a nap. Huxley went for round two with Marley B. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop for Huxley & 2 poops for Oliver. Pee Department - very competitive!
DISTANCE: 4.50 km. DURATION: 1:05:02
"Of course, we want to swim!! Raining buckets is not going to stop us." That was the thought bubble for both Marley & Huxley today at Griffith Woods. Silly me, I could see Huxley wanting to dip his toes. For sure, I thought Miss M would be on my way of thinking. Absolutely not!! We came to Marley's favourite splash pond and she did a dead stop. "Oh Michelle, you can't walk on. We must swim." The thought of swimming made me feel even wetter than I was. Okay, let's swim. Marley sat right on in. Huxley zoomed around and shook and splashed. You two are real cards and can make any weather condition fun. The Doggy Business Report: Marley had 1 poop & 5 pees. Huxley had another poop and lots of pees. Six towels in total to achieve a moderate level of wet dog😂.
DISTANCE: 5.09 km DURATION: 1:19:38
These two are all about having fun together. I swear Huxley does at least 2 more kilometers than Runkeeper records. He goes crazy in and out of the trees and then leaping into the water. Marley adds on an additional kilometer on top of what Runkeeper indicates. She chases Huxley and if he comes back with a certain smile on his face, Marley goes and checks out what he just saw. All I can report is FUN FUN FUN is Thursday's Report. The Doggy Business Report: Huxley lots of pees. Miss Marley had 5 pees and 1 poop.
