Oooohhhh, today was quite the adventure! Rona, Gordie, and I made an effort to walk a few streets we had not explored yet so Gord got a little longer of a walk today than usual. There are a lot of fat squirrels running around (getting ready for winter I assume) and the dogs both seem to enjoy chasing them up trees! After we dropped off Gordie, Rona and I zigzagged through her neighbourhood. We found our way to Fish Creek and tried to stay on as many unpaved trails as we could. It was a gorgeous afternoon and just the right light for photos. Rona gave me some big smiles for the camera. She was a tired girl after her run today. It was great to see you two pups this week! Rona’s Scoop: multiple pees. Gordie’s Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop.

Gordie and Rona were SO excited to see me today! Both barked with glee and Rona ran circles around me at the door. Usually, I take Rona for her run first and then we walk Gordie but today we did it in reverse. This duo barked the first few minutes of our walk and had fun chasing a squirrel back up a tree together. When we dropped Gordie back at the house, I think Rona thought that was the end of her exercise. She howled at me in protest haha and was very happy when we took off again at a faster pace. We ran one of our old routes down to Fish Creek and climbed two very steep dirt trails just for fun. What a beautiful fall day and a heart warming welcome from these two pups 😊 Rona’s Scoop: several pees, 1 poop. Gordie’s Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poop.

It was another beautiful day in Calgary and another lovely run with Rona. Today, we picked up the pace and headed straight to Fish Creek Park to enjoy the fall weather. We saw some crazy construction on our way to the park which made Rona a little bit skittish and she kept wanting to turn around to go back home. Once we hit Fish Creek Park, she was happily running beside me. We made a pit stop by the creek so she could have a big drink. I swear Rona knows the halfway point of every run, because she always picks up the pace in the second half and leads me back to her home. Smarty Pants!! Gordie was all about the treats today... expecting one before he put the work in. He had a pretty long conversation with a big dog through a fence. I’m not sure what they had so much to talk about? 🤷♀️ Rona’s Scoop: several pees, 1 poop. Gordie’s Scoop: two pees, 1 poop.

Hi Gordie and Rona! It has been a while! It was wonderful to be greeted at your door today! Rona you were a little shy of me but you just had to remember who I was. You were ready for a run on this beautiful fall day. Rona and I both overdressed for this run. She INSISTED on wearing her big winter fur coat! Because it’s been a while, I decided to do a run-walk adventure instead of an all out run. I added an unexpected twist by dropping my car keys in the grass along the way so we had to backtrack a couple times before we found them. We still got in over 6K together before we headed out with Gordie. 🙌 Both dogs had their super sniffers on today and seemed really happy to soak in some sun! Rona’s Scoop: 1 poop, numerous pees. Gordie’s Scoop: 3 pees only.

Oh Gordie - you are such a happy fella. Our walk was definitely more of a “trudge” today. We headed out along the bluff but the wind and snow were blowing straight at us making it really hard to see. It was much more pleasant on the street below so we marched through the snow down there. Your nose was on high alert today - lots of stop-and-go to smell everything buried under the snow. I think your belly was getting chilly by the time we returned home so we had a good towel off and made sure all the balls of snow were free from your paws and tummy. The Scoop: 2 poops, 2 pees (one very long pee!!)

Hey little Gordie! It was nice to meet you today! What a friendly little guy you are! You sure were keen to get outside and into that sunshine today. With your beautiful white coat, my goal was to try to keep you relatively clean on our walk. We hit the snow along the bluff and I discovered that this was something you loved: rolling in the snow.!There were several roll-abouts ... in between sniffing of course. I enjoyed exploring a bit of your neighbourhood with you..... it feels a bit like a labyrinth! See you tomorrow Gordie. According to the forecast, it looks like you’ll have more snow to roll in on our walk! The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 VERY long pee, 1 shorter pee.

Well hello Rona! It was my pleasure to meet you today. I knew you would be a little nervous with a new friend coming to take you for a run. We made some small talk on the kitchen floor for a few minutes and then you wanted to play hide and seek downstairs. I’m good at hide and seek though because I have two kids that like to play that game too. Soon we were off to explore your neighbourhood! You remained somewhat unsure of me. Your ears tucked back told me so but I kept chatting away so you could become familiar with my voice. By the time we hit 5 km your ears were up and we were both enjoying the sound of the birds singing in the trees. This was a pretty sloppy run with lots of puddles. I gave you a quick rub down with some fresh snow when we got home then a good towel-off on those fast paws of yours. Thanks for the run Rona! You’ll have a great nap this afternoon! The Scoop: 1 poop, 3 pees.
