DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 59 minutes Action Action ACTION. I think spring is around the corner!! Miss Spring cracked the door open a bit to tantalize the senses and tease us all. Huxley, Ennis and Aoife for sure had the ‘Spring Hi Jinx’. There were springs on the paws and a spring in each pup's step. A different element added to today's fun with this new wet and sticky snow. The Doggy Business Report: many pees for all the dogs. Both Huxley & Ennis had 1 poop each. Runner: Michelle

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 3.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes Just like Cuba’s Bueno Vista Social Club, this ‘Doggy Social Club’ showed off some fun dance moves. Their happy vibe was infectious and the sunshine made us believe we could have been in Cuba. Mucho Mucho energy and excitement. These friends love getting together. Today’s lineup starred Miss Marley B, Enny Binny, Sir Silly Sully, Romeo (Huxley) and the Kid (Aoife). All with different styles but they caught everyone's eye. 🐾The Doggy Business Report: the pee department was successful for all. Only Huxley & Ennis had 1 poop each. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 9 km DURATION: 2 hour 4 minutes Huxley and I woke up this morning in the Southern Hemisphere 🌞. Sunshine and warmer temps - that is a perfect day for an adventure to Nosehill. The other thing that made this day ‘super’ special was that Ennis and Aoife met us there. 🐾 Let's just say, we extended the long weekend. It was lots of fun! The energy level was a tad slower for the last kilometre.🤣 The Doggy Business Report: Hux Pup had 2 poops and many pees. Ennis had 2 poops and many pees also. Runner: Michelle That was just a teaser!! Ennis joined our home for only 1 short night, Buddy, we did not get our ‘Ennis Fill” in!! Ennis knows the drill, and had such a welcoming smile on his face when I went to pick him up. He more than obliged and kept me company in the office. He is just the sweetest soul. Aoife (our mini horse) and Ennis horsed around in the backyard but it was a rather chilly weekend. After dinner time, it was movies, snacks and naps. On the topic of naps, I had to wake him from a deep sleep this afternoon, to go home. When I said let's go see “Mom” that beautiful smile and little hop in his step was right there. I hope that 2021 brings us together for many more pet sits.
Pet Sitter: Michelle Ennis came to spend some time with us this week to cheer our spirits up. Last time he stayed, our AARCS foster Zepplin was still with us. Ennis was rather excited that the pip-squeak was not there but he could feel our families separation anxiety. Zepplin left for his forever home and Ennis stepped in to brighten our hearts. Aoife was so happy to see him. Ennis jumped out of the jeep and went straight to the front door to start his doggy loving. Well, maybe a treat was also in order to start his loving work weekend off. Thank you so much to Ennis’s human mom, for the fantastic Christmas gift. Lets just say when Ennis sees the blanket come out, he knows it is time for snuggles and loves. We had a fantastic time at Nosehill on Saturday!! Who would have thought +10C in December was possible. Sunday was all about the Christmas lights out front, Ennis was the foreman on that job. Bark Bark - a little to the right. Just one bark - a little to the left. Ennis, you deserve a holiday after taking care of us emotionally and spiritual this visit. Our home wishes your home a very Merry & Magical Christmas and New Year. Ennis we just love you.
Pet Sitter: Michelle Happy Sunday Ennis, there is a surprise waiting for you at my house. Ennis walked into the backyard knowing that he would see my dog Aoife, the mini horse. He was not looking for something smaller. This is Zepplin our foster pup. "Hey, you are a small one! Listen pip-squeak - I get first choice on what bed I want to sleep in." Ha Ha. This visit can be labelled ‘Old Friends and a New One Too.’ Ennis is one of our favourite house guests. He is so calm and quiet. We had a couple of pack walks when Huxley joined us; keeping the male ratio on par. After a day or so, Zeppie seemed to win over Ennis, just as long as he was not too rambunctious. They all loved when it was treat time. They lined up like little toy solders. Zeppie tried really hard to get Ennis to play with him one day. When that was just not going to happen and the coast was clear, Ennis got into Zeppies' doggy treat and he and Aoife polished them off pretty quickly. Ennis really liked that part of Zeppie. Oh Ennis McGuinness, you are a sweet soul. See you soon.
Pet Sitter: Michelle Hi Ya Happy Chappy! Ennis bounded into the vehicle and joined us on Wednesday. He has his own routine while staying with us. First stop was the front entrance and then he goes straight to the treat jar. Afterwards, he has a little play session with Aoife in the backyard. This time Aoife was trying to stay low energy after her surgery. Ennis says ‘that's great’ not too much crazy kid energy this visit. Then it was time to pick which doggy bed to rest on. I actually think he prefers the doggy couch in the front window. Ha Ha, I think he feels pretty comfortable at our house. Ennis had an outing on Friday with his pal Sully. They lived it up big at Nosehill. This weekend had some very cold wind whirling around so we hit the off-leash park near the house for a few walks and play-time. Ennis turns into a young pup when he hits the outdoors. He met our neighbour and he got several treats from him. I think Ennis will make a bee-line straight to his home next time he comes for a visit.
Pet Sitter: Michelle Hop up into the Jeep Mr. Ennis. Time for some fun, excitement and adventure with us. Ennis has the most contagious smile, it just makes everyone smile. He had lots of doggy adventures with his DGR friends. Ennis’s social circle includes: Aoife, Huxley, Sully, Marley and newest friend Mikka. Ennis allowed me to have some real cuddles all wrapped up in a snuggle blanket when the weather was really chilly. I took a couple of pics with Aoife’s zoo of toys around Ennis. He obliged me and I could just tell he was thinking, I have outgrown all these kids toys. Today before going home, we picked up his twin, Miss Marley and hit Griffith Woods for a lovely walk. Ennis was so happy to see his Mom and I know that she was also excited to have Ennis back home. See you next week Mr. Ennis McGuinness.
Pet Sitter: Michelle Aoife’s friend Ennis came for a sleepover last night. Thats right, Henry & I don’t exist anymore because Ennis & Aoife are the best of Pals. Well, a slight correction, we exist at food time & treat time. This visit was way too short. Ennis was just settling into the dog couch and girly pink dog bed. 🤣 There was major playtime this morning at Nosehill. Mind you - it was required to keep moving as not to get cold. Dogs are so smart. See you soon Ennis. I think we have to keep you for ourselves a bit more.
Pet Sitter: Michelle Hello Ennis. - it is always so nice to have you over for a sleepover. My dog Kopek loves to have Ennis with us has he has a brother to play with. When Ennis comes over, he is the big boss! He always tells me when he needs to go out, where he wants to go for a walk and how long we are staying outside... 🤣 We got to go play in the river and we met many doggies. Time sure flies when we have fun. Ennis, your stay was too short! Hope you can visit a bit longer next time as Kopek is already missing you.
Pet Sitter: Fab Happy Friday Ennis! Jump on in and let's get our long weekend started. The smile Ennis has on his face when you pick him up is so contagious. Upon arrival at my home, it was masculine overload with Ennis, Sully and Kenny. The boys thought this was the right ratio to keep ‘Aoife the kid’ in line. Saturday had a total flip on dimension!! Now it was ‘Young Female Power’ with Little Lola’s arrival. Kenny & Sully had to leave their ‘bro' alone with these young gals. Ennis loved being part of the excitement but at a safe distance from playtime. Ennis and Aoife do really well and like to remain pretty close to each other in proximity. There was a first this visit, when we all went to Nosehill. Ennis jumped into the back with Aoife and this is their new seating arrangement when in the Jeep. Usually, Ennis gets the middle seat, but he was pretty happy to stay with Aoife. They also take on the adventures of Nosehill side-by-side. Aoife has a big brother now in Ennis. What a lucky girl! I hope to have you come visit real soon.
Pet Sitter: Michelle It is Saturday and the time is 3 Bells - Ennis flies into the Jeep with a big grin. Hello ‘Gentle Soul’, it is always a treat to have you come for a visit. This was just a last-minute little sleepover. My Mother and her dog Freddie were at our house when we arrived back. Ennis and Freddie got on so well, I think they commiserated together about how Aoife has too much energy. Ennis also has another new fan, my Mom thought he was so sweet. I could tell that Ennis was enjoying all the extra attention and admiration he was receiving. Time got away on us this afternoon while at Nosehill. Ennis and Aoife played and romped around. These cooler temperatures are greatly appreciated by our canine family members. Get your suitcase ready Ennis, we are about to have a longer holidays together soon. I will make sure we have some fun adventures.
Pet Sitter: Michelle When I picked up Ennis on Wednesday, he jumped up and gave me a big hug. Well hello sweetheart, that was the best welcome ever! Off we went, back to my place where Aoife was not so patiently waiting his arrival. ‘Oh Ennis….. let's play!!’ On Thursday, Ennis and Huxley were reunited and these two had some ‘boy fun’ at Nosehill. That was a rather hot & humid day. Friday was even MORE females. Lola arrived for a quick visit. Ennis and Lola get on really well. They walk together just perfectly and side by side next to me. This has to be the most ‘Zen Pairing’ and I just love taking these two out together. Lola like to sit beside Ennis in the Jeep. I can not believe that our long weekend has come to an end so quickly. You get some peace and quiet now at home and time to recoup from all that ‘Girl Time’. I can see your little smile Ennis, you were pretty happy. Hope you come and stay real soon. Ennis ate really well and he did fantastic on all his walks.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes Sunday Fun at Nosehill. Ennis, Lola and Aoife hit the trails and scents this morning. Ennis and Lola are the perfect pair. They are pretty chill when it comes to having doggy fun. Let Aoife bounce around and get the hi-jinx out and these two walk beside me full of Zen. This was just our last activity together before Miss L goes back home later this morning. A lovely peaceful outing. The Doggy Business Report: Lola had 1 & 1. Ennis 1 poop and a few pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes Hey Huxley, Ennis and Aoife, so you know what the ’hot topic’ of today's blogs will be? Pant pant, that's right....the heat🤩. Ennis is staying with us for the weekend. Nosehill seemed to be the best choice for our outing. Huxley, Aoife and I ran over to the park. Henry chauffeured Ennis. The temperature was rising. We walked our loops and Aoife had enough. She hitched a ride back home. The boys still had pep left. We had a steady power walk home. Now for a couple of bowls of H2O. The Doggy Business Report: Huxley had 2 poops and many pees. Ennis had 1 poop and multiple pees. Huxley ready to go swimming? Runner: Michelle |
