![]() DISTANCE: 7.11 km DURATION: 56:19 Domina's tail was wagging like crazy when I picked her up this morning and I was excited to see her as well! It was a busy day on the trail today. We bumped into lots of dogs out with their humans. Domina was pretty distracted, and stopped to watch with interest, when we came upon a pack of seven dogs hanging out together. They looked like they were having fun wandering around, but we continued on our run. Later, we passed by a playground with some children playing and two off-leash dogs ran up to check out Domina. After the dogs had acquainted themselves, we continued on our run, and the two dogs tried to join us, running alongside Domina with gusto until they were called back to join their families. The scoop: no poo and lots of pees. Runner: Mel

![]() DISTANCE: 7.00KM DURATION: 1:02-50 Domina was in a very mellow mood today, and our run reflected that. Letting Domina set the pace, we took lots of breaks and broke up our running with leisurely strolling. We took a path which gave us scenic views looking east over a park and golf course, which we were able to enjoy more than usual due to our slower pace. Got a couple great shots of Domina today. She is getting better at focusing and sitting for photos. You'll see that I included one photo of Domina with her snout in the brush; this is the most common angle of Domina which I get to see. The scoop: 1 poo, lots of pees Runner: Mel DISTANCE: 8.05 KM DURATION: 1:02:09
I always know what to expect on a run with Domina - she needs some time to warm up and usually spends the first half of the run pulling over every block to sniff around. Today's run was no different - we had lots of stops as we headed to a new park. We met quite a few dogs on our route, all of which were interested in meeting Domina, but she didn't seem interested! We even met a tabby cat who was wandering around unattended. The cat was not as friendly as the dogs we met, in fact, she hissed at Domina territorially! Again, Domina wasn't bothered and kept on her way. The scoop: 1 poo, many pees Runner: Mel ![]() DISTANCE: 6.39 km DURATION: 53:20 This was our first run in a long time that we weren't running over snow and ice. It was nice to get outside and not need to bundle up in a toque and wear gloves. We also found a hill with a beautiful, clear lookout over the city where we took a break to sit on a bench and enjoy the view. Otherwise, the run was our usual routine, with Domina stopping often to sniff around, and generally ignoring dogs and other distractions. The scoop: so many pees and no poos. Runner: Mel ![]() DISTANCE: 7.30 km DURATION: 1:04:28 As soon as I saw her, Domina was jumping up and eager to get outside, so I had an inkling that today was going to be a fun run! I wasn't wrong; today was definitely one of our fastest and longest outings. As usual, Detective Domina found many things of interest which we stopped to investigate. These items included: a snow man, a chain link fence, and of course, leaves. The scoop: 1 poop and 3 pees. Runner: Mel ![]() DISTANCE: 6.17 km DURATION: 1:01:59 Domina was a laid back running companion, as always, but you could really see the hunter in her today. She would pick up a scent and eagerly start hunting along the leaf strewn ground in the park. I'm not sure what she was looking for, but she seemed pretty happy! The scoop: 1 poo, many pees. Runner: Mel ![]() DISTANCE: 7.9 km DURATION: 66:00 Not sure if it was the crisp weather or something else, but I've never seen Domina with so much energy! We kept a brisk pace for most of of the run and ventured out further than usual. Domina is still one of the most curious dogs I know, and that hasn't changed - she took several breaks to sniff around in the leaves and trees around the river. While we were taking photos, Domina snuck in a sloppy kiss, so it seems we've bonded! Looking forward to our next run! The Scoop: 1 poo and several pees Runner: Mel ![]() DISTANCE: 6.16 km DURATION: 54:49 Domina and I planned to run our normal loop around Confederation Park, but there was a large school group doing the Terry Fox Run in the park, which forced us to take a new path around the park. We even got to enjoy the school's band which was performing live! Domina wasn't very interested in the kids, she seemed to find lots of yummy smells in the fallen leaves and spent lots of time finding new smells to sniff around the park. The Scoop: 1 poo and many pees Runner: Mel ![]() DISTANCE: 6.91 km DURATION: 1:00:17 Domina met me at the door this morning bursting with energy and ready to get outside! We took a nice loop through Confederation Park, often running off the path and along the creek, with the yellow leaves crunching beneath our feet. Domina wasn't very interested in squirrels or smells today, so we kept a nice pace. It was a busy day in the park and we passed by many families and joggers enjoying the crisp weather. The scoop: 1 poo, many pees Runner: Mel DISTANCE: 5.60 km DURATION: 48:13
Domina started off the morning a little sleepy, but spotting a squirrel early in our run was a nice wake up call. Domina introduced me to Confederation Park today. We stopped often so she could show me her favourite spots and follow all the interesting scents. She even got some off leash time, 1 poo, lots of pees Runner: Melanie ![]() DISTANCE: 7.12 km DURATION: 1:00:49 Nice to meet Domina today! Weather was perfect for a run with temps at 13 degrees and a bright sun. We started out heading north and then did a lap around Tuxedo Park. Lots of sniffing throughout the run, but especially here. Then we ran right to the Memorial Stairs and got a great view of the city and and mountains. We took a pretty straight route back home. Waiting to cross Edmonton Trail, Domina got a little spooked by a bus that came too close to the side of the road but other than that she was happy! One poo and a whole lot of pees. What a grand day to be in Confederation Park with Domina! She is such an elegant runner that I often think she descends from royalty. She also was wearing her purple bling collar so she looked very sophisticated. When Domina runs her strides are so graceful. Along the pathway, we came across a lady who was in a crouched position with arms wide open who was calling out to Domina. I thought surely this must be a neighbour or friend. It turns out, it was just one of Duchess Domina's admirers. We had lots of pee stops and 1 stop for poo. We also had 1 stop to say hi to the ducks. Such a pretty park on a gorgeous day with a regal dog. I almost forgot to mention that Domina has a friend at her house (a sweet dog who is recovering from what looks like a neck injury and skin rash). Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 7.03 km DURATION: 55:36 Hi sweet Domina! Nice to see you again. It was already pretty warm today so we decided slow and steady was how it was going to be today. We hit the beautiful Confederation Park and I can't help but watch Domina run as she is just so graceful and gentle in her gait! We dipped into the water, which she loved and even I went in because I slipped on a rock, whoops! Kept my feet nice and cool for the rest of the run. Haha! We saw lots of kids out biking with camps and so many waved and said hello to us as we passed. I think they wanted to stop and pet her. Near the end, I think she was seeking shade so we took some breaks in the grass and rolled around; she always looks so happy and silly doing that! Five pees and no poops! Runner: Lauren ![]() DISTANCE: 6.34 KM DURATION: 58:31 Domina and I had a nice, relaxing run today. We kept a pace between a jog and a walk, and enjoyed the sunshine and interesting smells along the way. Domina kept a skip in her step as we went along. We checked out the golf course, and watched as a few people teed off. On our way back, we spent some time exploring the creek. Domina slowed down as we went up hill, but trotted along happily when we hit the downhill parts of the run. Thanks for a lovely run today Domina 😊🐶 Runner: Andrina ![]() DISTANCE: 7.36 km DURATION: 1:04:36 Domina and I had a nice, relaxed run today through Confederation Park and around the golf course. We ran for most of the first 30 minutes, and then alternated between walking and jogging for the last 35. We made a stop at Domina's favourite bridge so she could play in the water. She was happy and smiling the whole time. A great day for dog run 😊. Doggy Business: 1 poop and many pees. Runner: Andrina |
