Wild... yet well-behaved

The rain seemed to conveniently subside for us just as we started running! We did get a brief shower on the way back though, which was refreshing. Cooper went wild as usual as soon as I let him off-leash, but was always extremely well behaved. It'll probably be a long time before I can have the chance to run Cooper again after today, and I'm sure going to miss him! One poo and a few pees.

Cooper and I started to feel that crisp fall air this morning! It started to heat up later in the run though. Luckily, we managed to avoid any of the potential rain we'd be getting today. We ran through a few dogs in Edworthy Park and on the way back there seemed to be some sort of dog gathering going on! Near the end of the run, a nice lady complimented Cooper, "Beautiful Dog!" Cooper humbly accepted the compliment of course and trotted on. One poo and a few pees.

It's always a fun time running Cooper! We took off at a full on sprint as per usual, then slowed it down after the first kilometer. The sun was beating down hard today but we found shade in the trees which was nice! Cooper was running circles around me when I let him off-leash, and he acquainted himself with a couple other dogs along the way! Only 3 pees this time.

Cooper and I had a fun run in the sun this morning! We took off at quite a speedy pace but brought it down a notch later on. We found some shade in the trees near Edworthy Park and Cooper was very well behaved off-leash! One poo and 2 pees.

Today was a hot one with Cooper. There was so much activity at Edworthy Park. Cooper was truly in his element being the social butterfly he is. He made friends everywhere we went and had so many compliments on his devilishly handsome good looks and fun loving personality. Cooper is such a catch. He's got that perfect combination of affection and energy that is so contagious. I also brought my Gulpy which held much of Cooper's attention. We stopped multiple times for him to grab a drink and attempt to cool off. Although we didn't cover as much ground as he's used to, he definitely welcomed the frequent breaks as we ran at a blistering speed when we were in motion. I'd call today a solid sprint workout that perfectly expended both of our energy as we ran stride for stride on our way back from Edworthy. As always, such a rewarding outing with my main man Cooper. Business report: 1 poop, several pees

Cooper and I had a fun run in the sun! It was a beautiful day and we found a dog ball at the park so we played some catch. Note to self, Cooper loves playing fetch. Not surprisingly because he IS a dog...I think fetch tired him out a little as Cooper ran right beside me the rest of the way. He had a good cooldown at the Edworthy watering hole, and he loved drinking from the Gulpy bottle after our run. Copper had 1 poo and 2 pees.

It's been a few weeks since I have seen Cooper and boy did I get an explosive welcome! He was just SO excited he was wiggling his whole body so hard he fell over. Happy to see you too Cooper! We made a beeline for the dog park so he could get some off=leash time and burn off some of that energy. We visited with lots of dogs including a confused male dog who was a little too "eager" and made a pass at Cooper but he took it all in stride and kept going. I love Cooper's faces when he's running at Mach 10 so I had to take a couple photos! So nice to see the sun again too - Cooper as usual gulped up a full bottle of water as it's the first warmth we have had for a little while it seems! Two poops and many pees for Mr. Cooper.

Cooper and I had a great run today and made it home just before the rain started. The dog park was alive with joyous dog friends and Cooper had several long gallops back and forth saying "Hi" to all his friends. Cooper also loves to run around Edworthy Park before we make the slow ascent up the hill. Cooper was very well behaved and in a great mood today. Cooper had 2 poos and 3 pees

Stomping through the mud!

We were lucky enough to have the rain clear up just in time for our run, but there was a still lots of mud to be found! Cooper had a great time doing sprints up and down the Edworthy trails today. And it's a good thing, because he had lots of energy! He spotted a few squirrels while he was on leash, but he was able to re-focus quickly after. He did, however, find a few puddles to stomp in while on the park! He was nice and tired by the time we got back to the house!

THAT TONGUE!! WOW!! I've always seen photos of Cooper with his tongue hanging out, but today…!? I had to give him water from my water bottle, as my little portable doggy dish kept flipping every time he licked it LOL And so, I was able to capture Cooper's many tongue formations while gently squeezing the bottle, to let out water!! What a hoot!! Haha!! Well, it wasn't just about his tongue… :-) We did have a great run! We ran to his favorite place, Edworthy Park and down to the river where he was able to have a drink and cool off. Cooper is such a cool guy! The scoop: 2 poos and many pees.

Cooper hits top speed on slow run! Cooper and I took our run a little slower today as the heat of the day hit us. The watering hole was a welcome break. Cooper had an amazing sprint around the Edworthy Park green space. Amazing to see him run at top speed!

Sun's out and tongue's out

Sun is out and  tongue is out for Cooper! We didn't get rolling until about 10:30am so it was already pretty warm. He was so well behaved today on the leash and wasn't pulling at all, I was so proud of him! That is until he saw a rabbit and he forgot he was attached to me! But once the bunny ran away he was by my side again. We said a quick hello to DGR owner Tammy who was with Lincoln and then had a fun run through Edworthy, although we had a bit of a moment when a dog wouldn't leave him alone while he was trying to do some doggy business and he became impatient and was a little aggressive which resulted in the other dogs owner giving us a bit of a glare unfortunately. I can't say I blame Cooper! He came right to me after and we carried on our separate ways and all was  just fine. We had a bit of a slower return home and wrapped up right at 50 minutes as I think the heat was getting to him a bit! Two poops and two pees!

I am constantly amazed about how strong and agile Cooper is. He is a great athlete! He is kind of the Lebron James of the DGR family. King Cooper! Cooper knows our route now and leads me through all the turns. At the park, he chased a new friend, a Magpie who flew low in front of Cooper's gallop as if to say, "Ha Ha you can't catch me!". Cooper also said hi to a super cute tiny boxer that ran up to us several times. Coop's Business = 1 poo and 3 pees.

Where's Waldo

Mr. Cooper had an abundance of energy today! That being said just about everything on our way to Edworthy piqued his interest so I couldn't keep a straight line. Once we hit the off- leash area, he was off like a terror! We played a little game of where's Waldo (see first photo) and I'm pretty sure he thought he was being very stealthy. Though he never strayed very far from me. The times he did stray. I did one little "Cooper" holler and he would come bounding out of wherever he was exploring to run back to me (see yet another hilarious photo). Our shared water bottle quickly became HIS water which was just fine. When he was thirsty he would run beside me and literally bounce like a rabbit until I gave him some. Boy was I cracking up! He gave great many kisses today so I had to capture at least one. I tried to get some good face shots while we waited at the lights on 45th and Bow and although his eyes were closed you can't argue with that big goofy grin in one and then hard as I tried he just wanted to get so close to give me another kiss.

Lucky DGR dog and his runner

Cooper was raring to run today. He gave me a real cardio and strength workout as he was very excited to chase anything that moved from birds to squirrels to a rabbit, and finally a 3 legged dog tied up in the front yard. When we got to the dog park we passed a dog walker with about 8 dogs leashed up. We ran passed and we heard the dogs sigh, "Oh look at that lucky DGR dog with his runner". On the way home a light rain gave us some refreshing energy. Cooper had 2 poos and 3 pees.
