DGR RUN OF THE DAY # 1
DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 50 minutes
Charlie and I had a quick staff meeting at the end of the driveway and decided that because this was the warmest day for the next week that we should enjoy each and every minute! So party we did... who am I kidding I can’t resist that sweet face and I could tell right from the get go that my friend just wanted to have fun and what Charlie wants Charlie gets! So we headed out and it didn’t take long before the games began. Along with a little carb loading of course. We made our way through the hood, over to Scenic Acres and back again all the while playing stick toss. He’s trained me well! Thanks for a great time today Charlie! Stay warm and see you next week. 2 poos and many pees today. CHEERS!
As anyone who has ever met Charlie will know, he is a pretty chill and a very adaptable dog. With his mom's approval I adopted Charlie as my adventure buddy for the Christmas/New Year period so he came with me wherever I went (pretty much). Charlie was a hit on every occasion! From making friends on the trails at West Bragg Creek to being part of Christmas dinner to a board games party for New Year's to cutting laps at the Quarry in Canmore and being the first puppy my partner's nephew ever pet, he took everything in stride and by my side! He also did a great job of showing me around Tuscany when we went for our runs! We had sun up and sun down adventures and everything in between. I must say it was pretty sweet to me able to share my love of cross country skiing with this doggo. I wasn't sure how far Charlie would make it but to his credit he went further each time! Over the course of a week, he joined me on the trails for around 50km! He wins over every person he passes and even decided to join a few other people while they were skiing when I descended too fast . Charlie loved rolling in the snow so any time he needed a rest he just buried his face and rolled around a bit to let me know it was break time Way to go Charlie! Between adventures, Charlie and I enjoyed hanging out and watching sports. It turns out he is quite the hockey fan He is hoping that the Canadian Juniors destroy the Russian team in the gold medal play-off! Thanks for being my side-kick Charlie and keeping me company over the festive period. You're a truly awesome doggo!

DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 8.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 42 minutes
Well Charlie, the weather is not the greatest but that’s never stopped us from having a fetching good time playing stick toss! I know that was just bad....😬 We didn’t have any trouble finding the perfect sticks today. If my friend didn’t like the size or smell (eww that’s sounds dirty) he just moved along until he was satisfied.😂 Oh my this is going downhill fast! Charlie and I had a smashing good time like we always do. Charlie - it was an honour and a privilege to hang with you today. Thanks for being my friend, handsome! Cheers! The Scoop: 3 poos, 8 pees.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 10 km DURATION: 2 hours
I’m calling this one “ In Search of the Stick” Let me start from the beginning. Charlie and I started out on our 2 hr tour the way we always do. We make it to the end of the driveway then it’s time for a snack! Charlie has to fuel up before I make him run..... Yes, I too thought that was funny. We actually did run for almost 4K because it was down hill and my friend figured out where we were headed. We went to the field over yonder for one of many games of stick toss! Unfortunately, we had some issues keeping track of the sticks so each and every time Charlie was bound and determined to find his precious treasures. And this is why we were out for so long. Sticks were far and few between. That being said, I had a great time as always! Charlie is number 1 in my books🏿 Thanks for making my day sweet cheeks! CHEERS!
DISTANCE: 9.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 46 minutes
Charlie and I had an excellent time today!😊 We actually got in some serious running (light jogging😬) before beating around the bush, lallygagging, and getting sidetracked - you get the gist.😂 Charlie was a bit of a social butterfly today so we made some new friends. Then the coulee was calling to us and that’s when we lost track of time. It does that to you, sucks you in and then spits you out just at the right moment. We then hit one last trail and I could tell my friend was done because running was no longer happening. Thanks for another fantastic outing Charlie! CHEERS!
DISTANCE: 7.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes
Charlie was sleeping when I arrived but after a couple of good stretches, he was ready to go. Charlie did his usual multiple stops to sniff and pee but if he sees another dog up ahead he wants to speed up to meet them and say hi! We stopped at an off-leash area again today and he loved it. Charlie runs all around and when he’s had enough he waits at the edge of the field for me to put his leash back on..... such a good boy 😊 so, of course, he got treats The scoop: Charlie peed multiple times but did not poop.
DISTANCE: 8.5 km . DURATION: 1 hour 32 minutes
I have been waiting all week for this reunion!😊 Charlie and I didn’t miss a beat. We soon settled into a comfortably pace as my friend got reacquainted with his neighbourhood.😜 Charlie and I played some stick toss, he went swimming, we walked, we ran, and we rested. Oh so delightful! Just like being on holidays, hey Charlie?!?!?😆 I’m so glad your back, I missed that sweet face. Thanks for hanging with me my friend! CHEERS! The Scoop: 14 pees, 1 poo.
DISTANCE: 6.89 km DURATION: 1:24:40
The only thing I like smoked is my tofu!😜 Charlie’s human gave us a license to lallygag today so away we went on our walkabout. 😊 Okay. let’s be realistic, Charlie’s going away for a whopping 10 weeks to the lake for a holiday and even if the conditions were good I still would have made this adventure with my friend last a long time. Selfish? I don’t think so😬 Anyways, because we were walking I figured we may as well hit the trails and get a little hill work in. Yes, it was coulee’ crawl number 2 for me today and still not a soul in sight. It was probably better that way, Charlie decided he needed to play some stick- toss. You know how hard it is to play that game in the coulee’ on a single track trail? It ain’t easy! 😂 Thanks for being such a joy Charlie! Have a fantastic holiday and we shall see you when you get back! 1 poo and several pees today. CHEERS! I’ll miss you sweet cheeks.

Charlie was sleeping when I finally showed up. Sorry handsome but it’s just one of those days! He didn’t seem to care except that he wasn’t really in the mood for running and every time I’d speed up he’d put the brakes on and go sniff something!😂 Touche my friend Touche. Alright, I’ll just follow your lead today and as soon as I said that (in my head) in an instant the golden stick was found and Charlie was ready to play! Stick toss, swimming and a coulee crawl was what we did today. The warmer it got out, the less interest Charlie had in serious exercise, which to be completely honest with you I was on board all the way.😜 You could tell he was done when we strolled up that last hill and walked back to the abode. Thanks for hanging with me today sunshine! 2 poos and many pees. Cheers!
DISTANCE: 9.16 km DURATION: 1:28:31
Charlie was looking especially dapper this morning.😊 My friend was ready to get going as soon as I made an appearance. Okay handsome, let’s hit it! Charlie and I skipped our meeting and got straight into some serious running. He kept looking at me wondering when the party was going to happen.😬 Charlie soon figured out where we were headed and was okay with my choice, because once we hit the turn-around point, we partied the whole entire way back! Charlie was very pleased.😁 True to my friend's nature, even though we got caught in the rain, it just wouldn’t be the same if he didn’t get in a swim. Just to cool off!😂 After that, we made our way back to the comforts of home. Thanks for always making me smile Charlie! 1 poo and several pees. Cheers!

Welcome to the sad story of Charlie in the rain. Today was pretty soggy and Charlie is not a fan of rain so as you can see, he does not look very happy. It wasn't raining hard so that was a plus and his tail was not dragging which is usually does when it raining or it's tucked under showing his complete disgust..... All things considered he did pretty well. He did make quite a few stops which I tried to explain to him will just make the run longer but he didn't seem to make that connection. I joke he really does hate getting wet. Charlie did break into a full run a few times so he was trying and we had the pathway to ourselves as there were very few other dogs out today so not a bad day at all. Hopefully, it warms up and summer finally arrives for our next run. Charlie stopped multiple times to pee and had one poop.
DISTANCE: 9.05 km DURATION: 1:27:30
Leave it to good old Charlie to lift my spirits. He’s just what the doctor ordered!😁 Charlie was in charge today (seems to be a pattern happening) Sometimes a gal just doesn’t want to make any decisions (no comment) and Charlie seemed to be okay with taking on the lead role today.😜 What? It’s been a long week! We headed out with Charlie anticipating his first stick find and then the party began! I followed him into the trails.... BIG mistake! I had on the wrong shoes so there was some struggle climbing up the muddy hills. After that, we headed for the grassy fields, and back over the bridge for one last game of stick toss before making our way back home. Thanks for lifting my spirits Charlie! And for just being you.😊 2 poos and many pees today. Happy long weekend and enjoy the weather! 🤪 CHEERS!

What an amazing day for my run with Charlie! Charlie came running when I arrived today; excited to soak in the beautiful day I'm sure. Charlie kept up pretty well. He was a bit slow at times but always looking at me to make sure I knew he was trying his best. Charlie wanted to stop lots and leave his mark but we kept pushing on. We stopped to say hello to a few friends along the way as well. We seem to run into the same people all the time so they are used to Charlie wanting to say a quick hello and then continuing on his way. When we arrived home I would say Charlie was pooped. He went right inside and upstairs to bed. The Scoop: Charlie may have had a bit of an upset stomach as well, he did stop lots to have a little pee but also had one very runny poop.
DISTANCE: 7.76 km DURATION: 1:23:55
I’m two for two today on the wet sloppy kisses!😁 Charlie, I’m afraid that things are going to be rather slow today but I’ll take you to all your favourite spots! In true Charlie fashion, he just goes with the flow as long as there’s sticks and a little swimming. My friend put up with my old lady shuffle!🥳 Charlie and I had a blast today making our way through the hood. He even made a new friend. Sally was her name and chasing Charlie was her game! She was having so much fun that she started to follow us home so we headed back and made sure she was safe.👍🏿 After that, my friend went for a couple refreshing dips in the not so clean ponds and we finished things off with one last game of toss the stick! Thanks for another fantastic adventure Charlie! You're a peach! 2 poops and several pees. Cheers!

It was a nice Spring run with Charlie today. Charlie was Mr. Speedy to start off today. The first 3K, he just kept going with hardly any stops. Hurray for Charlie! I am not sure if it was the spring in his step or the threat of rain, as he's not a huge fan. After that, we had our usual stops to explore and enjoyed the rest of the run. This time is always so relaxing as he is so easy-going, I just hold the leash so he won't trip over it. Charlie wasn't interested in treats at first then after a while he decided it was time and wanted them all. There were multiple pee stops and Charlie did stop once and I thought he was going to take a poop as he assumed the position, but then changed his mind and kept going. Until next time my friend.
