DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes
This April 1st Run was no joke! I don’t know who was more excited for our run today, me or the pups. The weather was perfect; the sun was shining and there was no wind as we headed out for our 2k loop with Blanche. She is a polite gentle soul and such a joy to run. The pathways were busy today because of the weather, so after we dropped Blanche off Brutus and I decided to stick to the sidewalks. It was a good choice as there were less distractions. Brutus was picking up on my vibe and we both got into a speedy zone and had a great run. A young couple we passed gave Brutus a wonderful compliment; saying he was a beautiful dog. These two are the highlight of my day today and I really hope I get to run with them again. The Scoop: Brutus had 2 poops, 5 pees. Blanche had 1 pee only.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1
DISTANCE: 7.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes
What a gorgeous Saturday with 13C temps and blue skies! Blanche and Brutus agreed and set off on a blistering pace before realizing that we went from winter to summer in a nanosecond. There was some good panting happening by all. Blanche was impressive keeping up to Brutus for the first 20 minutes and then I new she had enough so we dropped her off. Once Brutus and I were on our own, he was keen to pick up the pace. He is an excellent multitasker and could keep his nose low to the ground and sniff while running. It was also funny because we were behind a group of runners and he just had to catch up to them. I wonder if he had FOMO (fear of missing out) and wanted to be part of their running club. We made it to the backside of Aspen Hills and tried to avoid other dogs as it seems everyone else got the memo about the nice day. He did really well and had a big smile on his face (last photo). The Scoop: 1 pee for Blanche and 3 pees for Brutus.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4
DISTANCE: 7.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes
What a great beginning run with new Dog Gone Running (DGR) Athletes Brutus and Blanche. This run definitely felt like it was inspired by the letter" B." First off, these pups are Beagles. Blanche accompanied Brutus and me for the first 30 minutes or so and right away we ran past 3 deer (Bambi). Blanche did beautifully and was quite the runner despite her muscular/bigger frame. Don't count Blanche out, she is a smooth runner. Next, Brutus got to go for a solo run. Yes, it was Boy's Only. He was great on-leash and we only saw one dog and he just gave a bit of a whine to say hello. Brutus was also pretty busy using his sniffer to scout out past activity. It was a brilliant first run for both pups, Once of the best parts of the outing was that post run chat with the family. I even got a colourful Easter Bunny and Chick from the kids. This brightened my day! Bravo! The Scoop: 1 poop, a bazillion pees for Brutus. Blanche was a bit shy so no business for her.
