DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute It’s been a while since I’ve last seen Biscuit and Pepper, but I think they knew exactly who it was when I stepped through the doorway. When I opened up their crates, Pepper bolted out into the backyard (She was more than ready to play some fetch) while Biscuit jumped around me in excitement. We started things off with a speedy run down the hill on the path alongside Bow Trail where we got a fantastic view of this city. As I took in the view and tried to take a picture, Biscuit got himself a little tangled up in the leashes. What a silly guy! Oh how I’ve missed these puppies! We were just shy of a 10km today, but that’s alright. We saved a little bit of time at the end for some frisbee. Great job today Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Ryan

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute It wasn’t super hot this morning, which I was quite thankful for. Clouds periodically blocked out the sun and there was a soft breeze that cooled us down. Biscuit and Pepper started off a little crazy because we saw a bunch of dogs as we ran up the first block. But, once they calmed down we were smooth sailing. We passed by some pretty high pedestrian traffic areas today, but Biscuit and Pepper were on their best behaviour with other people. On the final stretch back home, my eyes started to water because they were burning from my sweat. They were tears of happiness. Great job today Biscuit and Pepper! We made our way over to 69th Street and followed it almost all the way to Stoney Trail! It was really easy cruising down the hill, but the way back up to 17th Avenue almost took 15 minutes. Let me tell you, 15 minutes of uphill is quite the workout. When we got to the top, Biscuit and Pepper’s tongues were flopping out of their mouths as they panted. Awesome job on this hot day Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes Biscuit, Pepper and I battled against the wind along the Bow Trail pathway. It was a cool and gloomy morning, but these Border Collies were as happy as could be. Even when it started to rain on us, Biscuit and Pepper were still smiling. Luckily, the rain was kind to us, and we didn’t get completely soaked by the time we got home. I tossed the Frisbee for the pups before putting them back in their crates. Spectacular job today Biscuit and Pepper! No doggy business to report. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes Oh boy, it’s a hot one today. Good thing I didn’t forget to lather up with sunscreen before heading over to run Biscuit and Pepper! The puppies were definitely feeling the sun after the first 15 minutes, so we just kept a slow and steady pace and didn’t push ourselves too hard. We got back home at the 50-minute mark, which gave us plenty of time to hangout in the backyard. We all drank some water, played catch with the Frisbee and then cooled down in the shade. Excellent job today Biscuit and Pepper! No doggy business to report. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes There was sun, rain and even a couple flakes of snow during our run this morning. The plus 20°C weather we were having just came and left this past weekend. Please come back summer. Don’t leave us! I noticed after about 30 minutes or so that Pepper was limping a little bit, but she wasn’t holding back either as she kept going full steam ahead. I made sure to give her a couple breaks and slowed down the pace after that. Awesome job today Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes Biscuit, Pepper and I were jamming out today, as I played music from my phone speaker during our run. When we made it to 17th Avenue, they helped me up the hill towards 69th Street. Then, we had ourselves a race down the long winding hill toward the C-train station. Biscuit and Pepper only pulled a bit in the beginning, but it didn’t take long for them to get tired out and run at a steady pace. The new collars helped a lot with that. When we got back home, we played catch with the Frisbee. Fantastic job today Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops (Biscuit and Pepper). Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 11.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes Biscuit and Pepper were extra fast on the downhills today. I got a little break when we’d run uphill which was nice. We made it all the way over to the path alongside Sarcee Trail today, where we had all the sun shining down on us. There were few other dogs at this area, but most of them were walking off the path with their owners. As we ran up 17th Avenue, we enjoyed a spectacular view of the mountains. Awesome 11km today Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poos (Biscuit and Pepper). Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute I got new pair of running shoes over the weekend, and there’s no better way to break them in than a run with Biscuit and Pepper. The shoes were tested on pavement and on dirt trails, and they proved themselves worthy. We had a couple longer stops to avoid other dogs, but still managed to complete a 10km this morning. We also saw a cat as we were going down a hill. It was just walking on the sidewalk minding its own business. Biscuit and Pepper seemed very curious about the kitty, so I crossed the street just to be safe. It watched the dogs closely as we passed by. Great run today Biscuit and Pepper! Well, any morning this April with no snow on the ground is a nice morning. The sun was in the sky, the clouds were on vacation, and Biscuit and Pepper were speeding along in front of me. We went about as far as we could go up 17th Avenue until we were just running on the shoulder of the road, so we turned back around. Getting a nice picture with both Biscuit and Pepper posing for the camera can be a challenge, but we sure did try our best. Great 10km today pups! The Scoop: nothing to report. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.1 km DURATION: 1 hour Whatever happened to April showers? All we get in Calgary is April snowstorms. With lots of detours, loops and switchbacks off the main roads, Biscuit, Pepper and I completed a solid 10K this morning. It was a tad chilly whenever the wind was blowing at our faces, but the sun warmed us back up. We kept up a steady pace for our whole run with a few stops just for pictures, and we finished off with a sprint. Great job today Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees 0 poops (Biscuit and Pepper). Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 11.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes Biscuit and Pepper were on fire today. They just kept on running shoulder to shoulder as they lead me around the neighbourhood. They rarely got distracted by people across the street. It was a little cool to begin with, but the sun was out and we were working hard, so warming up was no problem. On the way home, we had a nice sprint down the Bow Trail pathway to finish things off. Great job today pups! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.6 km DURATION: 59 minutes I found Biscuit and Pepper in the backyard when I picked them up. They ran up the wooden stairs as fast as they could and greeted me with licks and tail wags. Finally, it’s feeling more like spring. We quickly warmed up in the sun, as we made our way along the Bow Trail pathway. It was nice not having to dodge ice patches for once! At the end of the pathway, we crossed a busy road and found some trails that we had never been on before. We spent a good amount of time exploring them before heading back home. Great job today pups! The Scoop: 0 pees 0 poops (Biscuit and Pepper) p Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes What a great run today with Pepper and Biscuit! Biscuit, Pepper and I felt as if we were in a reenactment of the Wizard of Oz, with the strong wind Calgary is experiencing. We were excited to be whisked away to Oz. Both Pepper and Biscuit were great listeners on our run, only barking once. Our pace was slower today to accommodate for icy paths, however, that did not stop us from enjoying our time outside. Lovely to see the two pups again. They are truly wonderful. The Scoop: no poops or pees. Runner: Dru DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 5 minutes I started off a little chilled today, but I was thankful I didn’t wear any more layers because if there’s one thing I’ve learned from running with Biscuit and Pepper it’s that, no matter how cold it is outside, you’re gonna get warm. Out of the two dogs, Pepper was the barker today. She was like a fighter jet and her barks were dog/people-seeking missiles that’s she’d fire across multi-lane roads at her targets. When we got home, the pups seemed pretty tired, but not too tired to play some Frisbee! Good job today Biscuit and Pepper! The Scoop: 0 pees, 0 poops (Biscuit and Pepper). Runner: Ryan |
