I had the pleasure of spending the last few days with Dahlia and Beatrix, two sweet pups who do a wonderful job of balancing each other out! Both are Shepherd X Rescues, with Dahlia being about 6 years old, and very reserved around new people, and Beatrix, an energetic affectionate puppy just under a year. The first couple of days Dahlia was a bit apprehensive around me, which was what I should expect according to her mum...so I chatted, made myself known, offered a few treats, but didn't try to get in Dahlia's space. She kept me in her sight, and would join me on the couch, one full cushion away, and sleep on the other side of the bed with me. After a couple days, she came out of her shell a bit, and accepted my pets and conversation with a wagging tail, which was nice to see. She loved time outside, and had some fun moments playing in the snow with Beatrix. Our last day was certainly the most comfortable, and it was great to see her open up. Beatrix , on the other hand, was all love from the second I arrived! Always wanting to know what was going on, Beatrix was rarely further than arm's reach away, and is very fond of giving kisses...lots and lots of kisses! Beatrix loved playing a sort chase with me, She finds all sorts of scents everywhere and anywhere and really enjoys bones! She is a close cuddler, and most nights at bedtime was snuggled up to me with her head on some part of me! This character with floppy ears and a smiley face loves chilling and sleeping on her back with her paws up in the air...quite a comical sight to behold! I'm sure these girls will give mum and dad an exuberant welcome upon their return!
