We were in the river a lot today. Ennis is such a beautiful big black dog, but that can come at a cost. Luckily, I headed over early on this lovely happy holiday and we went out before the sun got really intense. I think he might have been a little tired from yesterday’s run because we went a full kilometre less than our last run. It’s been awhile since we’ve run together though, so that makes a lot of sense and I’m glad we went at a pace comfortable for him. Luckily, we just had an easy jog through the dog park which was absolutely full of other dogs but they never bothered us. Ennis is a pretty old guy, but he is a fantastic runner and always has this cute smile on his face. I always enjoy running with you buddy! The Scoop: 1 poo, several pees.

It’s been such a long time since Ennis and I ran together, but a couple of treats early on sweetened the start so he wasn’t as hesitant as he normally is when new/people who’ve been gone for awhile show up at the front door. I know how much he loves his trails too; much like any other dog, so we were quick to skip off the pavement and head straight to Sandy Beach where we probably did just about every single trail the ravine had to offer. There were plenty of things to sniff. Ennis isn’t particularly fast when he is sniffing, but that means he’s going at his own pace and I really enjoyed the nice loping jog we went for this morning. Good to see you again buddy! The Scoop: 1 poo, several pees.

Good Friday indeed! I’m with one of my favourite easy-going pooches and even the weather can’t get us down.😊 She was a little brisk out there today so Charlie and I hoofed it to one (of many) of our favourite places to relax, enjoy and play... yup you guessed it. STICK TOSS! It’s always fun to watch my friend go on the hunt for that oh so perfect stick. He’s quite selective, don’t ya know! If it doesn’t smell or taste right he won’t touch it. I like a pooch with discriminating taste don’t you?!?!!!😂 Anyways on the last of one of our free-range stops Charlie couldn’t help himself but hit the pond for a refreshing cool down. Clearly he was working harder than I was because all I wished for was my toque! After that we made our way back to the comforts of home. Thanks for another fantastic Friday run Charlie! 2 poos and many pees. Cheers and have an Eggcellent Easter!

Happy long weekend Rossi! I was feeling a bit tired today but we still managed to do a good 8K jog down the side of the river. Boy, there were a lot of people out! Glad to see that they’re taking the time to get outside like Rossi and me. Rossi was sure excited to sniff the hands of a few people. We got almost all the way to the end where we took a weird tour through some sprouting cattails and Rossi had several big gulps of water which looked refreshing before we decided to turn around head and home. I hope you have a lovely holiday with the fam, Ross! The Scoop: 1 poo, several pees

Happy Friday Nell, we have to make this a good one because it's our last run for a couple of days! Nell and I hit the ground running today. The chillier day made for an extra quick pace to make sure we stayed warm. The city was looking awfully red again this afternoon; there is another big Flames game on the horizon. It's a must win, so as you know, my nerves are through the roof today. Thank goodness for Nell and her cool, calm, and collected demeanour. We had a great run focusing on one thing only - the trail ahead of us. Thanks for the beautiful run along the river. It's so great to see the grass beginning to turn green. Enjoy your Easter Vacation in Saskatoon; I'll see you again when you're back! The scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee.

It is a good Good Friday because I get to take Byrdie and Teddy out on their walk with another prospective DGR Runner (Rebecca). The top photo tells most of the story of this walk as Byrdie was all about stopping, flopping, and getting in most cuddles. Rebecca and I both noticed that once she had her 2nd poop (Byrdie rarely poops on our outings), she was back in running form. Byrdie also had more pep to her step when she chased after Teddy who was chasing his orange ball. We also met some big doggies including a Bernese Mountain Dog named Gracie and 2 dogs that were Chow/Husky X so t was a party! The scoop: 2 poops and no pees for this sweet gal. Have a lovely Easter!

Marley and I had lots of company this morning. My son Kieran joined us and we all visited with lots of other dogs, runners, and walkers along the reservoir. Marley enjoyed a few of his favourite back rolls and rubs on the grass. All in all, it was a great day to be out!

Today Lucy and I enjoyed the break from the hot windy weather. We meandered around communities that we don't go to very often, and Lucy enjoyed all the new sights and smells! She especially liked staring in all the new yards. We tried to hunt gophers together but she was getting too excited by ALL the gophers that she would get too distracted and just run all over the place! We made up for it with lots of sniffing time on some grassy areas we ran through. She loved the change of trail and would give little bounces and prances all the way! She's such a joyous girl to be around. The only other two things that happened were finding some gorgeous crocuses that Lucy looked really pretty posing by, and an Easter tree! I was definitely more excited by these two things than Lucy, but she's such a good girl that she humoured me. She was pretty tired by the time we headed home - probably from all the new sights and smells! It was a great end to the week, and I hope she enjoyed her nap! Thanks Lucy! 1 pee and 1 poop.

The sky was all gloom and doom today but Zenna did not let it bring her down! We came across some of the first wildflowers today so that made up from the grey skies. There was a race going on through the park and we had a great time following along with some of the runners and providing some extra morale support. But it was a lot of slow jogging and brisk walking for the majority of our time. Every once and awhile, Zenna would stop and look like she had forgotten where she was going or had forgotten something she meant to bring. Once I'm sure it was to stare at a ceramic rabbit; she must have thought it was real! What a goof. 1 poop, 6 pees.

Wowza! Even though it was the hottest it's been so far this year, Leo was the most game for a run than he ever has been so far! He was soooooo good on his leash, even with millions of distractions on the pathways this afternoon including: bikes, babies, dogs, runners, ducks, geese and much more. The only thing that seemed to really catch his attention were skateboarders. The pathway along the river was beautiful, and there were hundreds of people out who all seemed very happy to see such a handsome dog out running. Though, for the future, we will find a path with a bit more shade! Leo sure did want to head down into the river, probably to cool off and chase the ducks. Leo set a real good pace going pretty much the whole time. On our last stretch, we took it real slow to give us a good cool down. 1 poop, 8 pees.

Hello Tegan and Brock, long time no see! When I was in the crazy traffic jam near your home, I realized I was with Tracy years ago for one of your DGR runs. Well, we have all gotten a little bit older, but we all look great! Cheers to aging gracefully! Slow and steady with many breaks was the name of the game today. We didn’t go far, but we sure had a good time. Brock is so happy to be outside, and Tegan wanted a siesta in the grass! The duo did get tired easily, which makes me think they need more time with DGR to get their summer bodies back. Tegan had 1 poop, 4 pees. Brock had 1 poop, 5 pees.

What a beautiful day for a run! After chatting wth the girls' lovely owner for a bit and receiving plenty of Vizsla kisses, the three of us were off in the sun for our run. After our quick run on Monday, we didn’t go quite as far today to give my knees more of a rest, but nonetheless both of the girls had big smiles on their faces today with their tongues hanging out. So we went a little bit more leisurely this morning; just enjoying the sun. It gave us a taste of the warm summer months to come. See you girls on Monday. The scoop: 1 pee each and no poops.

Hi Hux Pup😍. Huxley’s response was wiggle wiggle, kiss kiss, and big smiles. We are going a bit slower today, but I have some ’fun in the sun’ planned for us. On a day like today and hanging out with such a great pup, there is only one place to go. That’s right - to the water!! I think the pictures show how excited Huxley was. He pounced in and out of the pond like a jackrabbit. Channelling the Easter vibe. He would always come back to me with this perplexed look. ”Why won't the ducks play with me?” Hux, my friend, don't worry I will play with you. After lots of energy was exerted, we took ourselves back up the hill home. I just love when Hux out of the blue rubs up against you just to get some extra cuddles. 🐾❤️ The Doggy Business Report: 1 big poop, lots of leg lifts for exercise, and about 6 pees.

Jasper, Indy and I started off slowly today with a little bit of resistance from the boys, but after our first kilometre we were cruising. It was quite warm out today. The sun was bright but the sky wasn't completely clear. It was as if it were smudged; it was like looking through dirty spectacles. We heard a buzz raining from above as the sun was eclipsed by a light aircraft, and a large shadow loomed over the three of us. We walked past a group of workers at the hospital who were on lunch break and playing catch. Jasper eyed up the baseball being thrown back and forth, but he was more concerned with who he was gonna visit. Target acquired. Jasper led Indy and I over to two women who immediately appreciated the visit and gave lots of attention to the two fluffy studs. Thanks boys, I always enjoy our time together. 0 poos all around. 2 pee Jasper and 1 pee for Indy.

Road trip! Reilly was pleased as she rarely gets to ride in the treat truck!😬 The two of us headed to Mona’s and then straight to Edworthy Park we went. Surprise! It’s Juno and Tammy. Again Reilly was pleased. Mona couldn’t have cared less about the extra runners as we were close to the river and that’s all that was on her mind!😂 Until new treats came out of course.😜 Anyway, the 5 of us perused the pathways making a few stops along the way. At the last party place, the gals all went for a dip but Juno got caught up in the excitement and went out a little too far. Let’s just say that the river is cold so I wouldn’t recommend swimming in it anytime soon! 😳 Thanks for another phenomenal adventure Mona and Reilly! And thanks for coming out Juno and Tammy, it was nice to see you again. (mostly Juno.... jk😁) 2 poos and many pees each. CHEERS!
