DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes It was a windy one! Luckily, Gibbons and Toki are always dressed for the conditions. Today’s fashion choice included matching fleece hoodies - so cute! It took some convincing to get Gibbons passed the driveway, but once we got going it was full steam ahead. These two dogs run so smoothly together, there’s never any crisscrossing chaos! They cue each other when they’re stopping which makes it a lot easier to keep eyes on both of them while running. The second half with Toki flew by! We attempted to travel on a forested trail, but it was way too slick and steep of an incline (mainly for me). It was a pleasure running with these two this month! Gibbons - multiple pees, 0 poo. Toki - 1 pee, 0 poo. Runner: Lucia

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.8 km DURATION: 1 hour It was wonderful to see Conor again! I think we were both excited to be out on the paths enjoying the nice weather. We went down past the golf course and saw a beautiful Golden Retriever a ways ahead of us. The lake was completely covered in snow. It looked pretty cool! It resembled a big piece of blank paper (save for a few tracks on the surface) The Scoop: 1 poo, 2 pees. Runner: Eve DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes Sully and I had ourselves a splendid run today with about a million pee breaks and a weird, slightly sad sight to be seen. We came across a message that was spray painted onto the noise wall. It read, “Life’s to short.” Personally, I always thought that life was to be lived to the fullest, or to cherish, or to simply just be living. But apparently, “Life’s to short.” Whoever wrote this clearly had the decency to include the apostrophe in “Life’s,” but made the rookie mistake of forgetting an “o” in “too.” When Sully and I got back home, I traded him off for Kenny. We went out the front, and walked down the block toward 26th. Once he did all his business, we walked back home. I let both boys have a bit of time in the backyard before leaving, mainly to see if Sully needed to poop. Sully was already recharged and was ready to run again when I let him out, while Kenny was ready to be back inside. Great job today boys! The Scoop: many pees, 0 poops for Sully. Kenny had 3 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 6.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes Winter and I zig-zagged our way around our normal route; that is around the lake. It was beautiful today so we met quite a few others out enjoying the mild temperatures. It has been so warm that we noticed the snowmen are getting skinnier. Kona was eagerly waiting with her grandma for her turn. We toured a different crescent than normal and admired the amount of participation in decorating for Christmas. The Scoop: Winter had 1 pee, o poops. Kona had no pees or poos. Runner: Brenda Happy Sunday Ennis, there is a surprise waiting for you at my house. Ennis walked into the backyard knowing that he would see my dog Aoife, the mini horse. He was not looking for something smaller. This is Zepplin our foster pup. "Hey, you are a small one! Listen pip-squeak - I get first choice on what bed I want to sleep in." Ha Ha. This visit can be labelled ‘Old Friends and a New One Too.’ Ennis is one of our favourite house guests. He is so calm and quiet. We had a couple of pack walks when Huxley joined us; keeping the male ratio on par. After a day or so, Zeppie seemed to win over Ennis, just as long as he was not too rambunctious. They all loved when it was treat time. They lined up like little toy solders. Zeppie tried really hard to get Ennis to play with him one day. When that was just not going to happen and the coast was clear, Ennis got into Zeppies' doggy treat and he and Aoife polished them off pretty quickly. Ennis really liked that part of Zeppie. Oh Ennis McGuinness, you are a sweet soul. See you soon.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Kahlua was full of smiles today. Whenever I turned around to take a picture, she was as happy as could be. We ran for the first half of our adventure, all the way up the Centre St. Bridge and up into the Crescent Heights and Rosedale communities. At the hill by the train tracks, there were a couple of dogs off-leash. Kahlua only barked at one dog who was chasing a ball and not at all paying attention to her. Two Husky puppies, that were also roaming free, came up to Kahlua and me. I kept a cautious grip on the leash and her harness while both of the blue-eyed Huskies greeted us. One of them was sniffing Kahlua’s face while between my legs. Kahlua looked pretty nervous , but she kept her cool. I was very proud. Great job today girl! The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes The warmth of the morning made this run extra enjoyable. Marley had a lot of yawns when we started, but as the brisk air hit his fur coat and face, he livened up. We explored a new area and enjoyed all the festive decor in front of people’s homes. Marley was particularly intrigued by the light-up reindeer.. He wasn’t sure what to make of it, but it definitely caught his attention. No matter how much or little snow there is on the ground, Marley will make a point to roll around in it and even catch a mouthful of ice crystals. He deserves a weekend of rest, He was a trooper today! The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poo. Runner; Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 10 minutes It was wonderful weather today for a run! Lucy and I were excited to be out this morning, enjoying some sunshine. However, Lucy was a little sad to see that lots of the snow has melted, but her spirits picked up again when we had breaks to tumble around in the snow banks that were left. On a few of these ‘pit stops’, we played catch the snowball, Lucy loved it. On our run, Lucy also “won the lottery” today, finding a stick to play with on our route, and carrying it for 1/4 of the run. As always, Miss Lucy was lovely, and a joy to be around. The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Dru DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 6.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 37 minutes Reilly! My little friend had a halo on today.... at least that’s what we were calling it! I had an extra booty so I thought I’d attempt to make Reilly as comfortable as possible on our journey today. Well, that didn’t last..... I’ve never seen Reilly’s leg do the 100 mile an hour shake. Then, she had to look in my truck to make sure her partner in crime( Mona) wasn’t playing hide and seek. Nope it’s just you and me today kid. Now, we are ready to go and it was a nice casual affair. The sun was shining and despite the obvious - Reilly had a great time! Probably because I felt sorry for her so she got a little extra luv. I spoiled her today and this made her VERY pleased. Thanks for coming out today Reilly - I’m glad I could make you as happy as you make me.🥰 2 poos and many pees. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 7K DURATION: 1 hour 28 minutes Who spiked Huxley’s kibble this morning? Did Mom give you an extra helping of ’Go-Go faster’ kibble? We left my house flying!! Huxley was full-out running. The interesting thing is this was all uphill. The first thing that he was unwavering on was his speed. Thank goodness that was only for the first kilometre🤣. We hit Nosehill with lots of time to spare before the gang from my house arrived. Everyone could hear the barks of excitement when Huxley, Ennis, Aoife and Zeppie arrived. This pack was ready to fly around and chase each other. Ah, the happiness of friends and being a dog.🐾 Save some energy Huxley, you're off to see your BFF this afternoon. The Doggy Business Report: fun and shenanigans loads. Poops: Hux Pup had 2 and Ennis had 1. Many, many pees from the dogs. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 5 minutes Good Morning Buck! Today is American Thanksgiving but we did a turkey dinner yesterday with all the trimmings so I may need your help to work off some pumpkin pie. Buck was up for this challenge. I actually layered this challenge with a pretty extreme route that included skating along a thick sheet of ice as well as climbing up a side of a hill that involved holding onto roots. Buck used his claws and athleticism to get through this run. He seemed like he was on high alert today (glancing every direction) so I think this type of obstacle course was also a good mental challenge. We got a treat by the St, Bernard stand and took some cute photos by the wall of hearts. Buck - you sure do steal my heart. Have a wonderful weekend. The Scoop: 1 pee and 1 poo. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 6.9 km DURATION: 59 minutes A run with Kahlua is the perfect way to break up the week. She wasn’t super energized when I came to pick her up, but once we got into the fresh air her mood changed drastically. The pathways were busy, so we dodged and weaved through snowy banks and parks to ensure our safety. We climbed hills, went down stairs, and toured all around the hills near her home, We sure had an adventure! Next time, I’ll need to bring more treats though, Kahlua was such a good dog (and I wanted to reward her) that we ran out half-way through the run. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 9.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 33 minutes My gal pals today had some ants in their pants! Mira and Nova both gave me a big fat kiss on my nose followed by some rather stellar singing! The excitement was real! Nova had extra zoomies today as it was hard to get her to participate in my photo shoot, but Miss Mira knows the drill and is happy to oblige. At times, it felt like we were on a wild ride at the Stampede! The Gals were partying circles around me and yet we kept on moving forward (mostly). Some lady even commented on how talented we were at staying upright. I think she was talking about me.... I was surprised too. Anyways, thanks so much for keeping it real ladies! I had a marvellous time. 1 poo for Mira and plenty of pees each. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes Gibbons is on a roll!! Despite the chillier weather today, Gibbons did awesome again to get outside and show off her speed. Toki seemed a little surprised at how quick Gibbons was going and had to kick it up a notch to keep up, which lead to the always-fun racing Vizslas. Then, it quickly became me who had to put it into a higher gear to keep up! After dropping off Gibbons at home after half an hour, Toki and I continued along. We decided to challenge ourselves a bit more and tackle some of the steeper hills overlooking the neighbourhood, which Toki loved. It’s very quiet and peaceful up there which is a very welcomed break from the busy city. It was definitely a needed run for me, as I needed to wake up a bit and gain some motivation for doing schoolwork later today. The Girls made sure I achieved that! The Scoop: 4 pees for Gibbons, 3 pees for Toki. No poops today. Runner: Dan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 11K DURATION: 1 hour 20 minutes Wednesdays are exciting days for me as I get to see my new pal, Sir Avi. This Husky has piercing blue eyes - the type you are mesmerized by. He is charming and playful, friendly, affectionate and is an amazing listener. Though I tried to get some artsy pics of him today, I fell short. He just wants to run and be social instead of stopping to pose for a picture. We started our journey today on the same path we took last time but we threw in some twists and turns and met a whole lot of new furry friends to play with. Avi is so gentle and he likes to kiss as well as sniff his new friends. I find Avi to be a wonderful companion and we seem to have figured each other out quite quickly which makes for a very enjoyable time together. Til we meet again... The Scoop: 1 poop and 28 pees!
