Turns out, the girls (and I) much preferred running this afternoon, as opposed to this morning. With the temperature slightly warmer than our earlier run, it turned out to be a great final walk/run for our week together. Has it really been nearly a week already?? Gibbons and Toki were the best sleepover buddies; cuddling under the covers, keeping me company while I studied, and always giving me as many smooches as possible. The highlight for me was the early morning backyard pees, where both girls scurried out the door, quickly found the ‘perfect spot’, did their business for the same length of time, and simultaneously sprinted back inside. I laughed each and every day this happened, as they seemed to have the process synchronized. I am really going to miss waking up to slobbery kisses, and hearing Toki’s tail wag against the couch from across the room. Gibbs seems to think she is a lap dog, always wanting to sit as close as possible (even if that means right between your legs).

![]() DISTANCE: 10.19 DURATION: 1:34:56 TODAY was a very long day for Rossi and me. It started off with a trail run through Edworthy like most runs; although this time we went a little further and hit the bridge that Lincoln and I visited this week. What a gorgeous view! I think Rossi just keeps getting easier to run and he always has a big smile on his face whenever we get to go out. No tugging back or pulling whatsoever with this guy, which is good because we always manage to hit the hills and the stairs on our runs. I hope you have an awesome weekend buddy! You are fantastic and I will always enjoy running with you.. The Scoop: 1 poo, several pees. Runner: Rossi ![]() DISTANCE: 8.01 km DURATION: 1:28:58 Freckles the Grinch! That describes our run today! Run, what run, the Grinch took over Miss Freckles and she was not going to run anywhere. With the new off-leash party going on in this neighbourhood, it is very hard for her to be focused. Off-leash dogs everywhere! Is there a new law? The unfortunate part is when a dog comes running to a dog on leash it makes the leashed dog uneasy.... so really it isn’t their fault at all. Tomorrow is December Frecks and hopefully the Christmas cheer will take over from here on. Enjoy your day girl. 2 poops, 14 pees, and 88 sniffs. Runner: Audra ![]() DISTANCE: 9.24 km DURATION: 1:01:55 I have been looking forward to my Juno run all week! My Juno gets to run with her on occasion, but that hasn't happened for several weeks. Their greeting was kinda funny. They were both cool as a cucumber. Their tails were wagging, and they had smiles on their faces, but they just circled each other calmly. It was like they were casually saying, "Oh... hey... long time no see..." And then we started our run! Now using the intel Sheri gleaned, I tried to keep myself in between Juno F and grass and snow. But it wouldn't be a Juno run if she didn't lounge ever so elegantly at least a couple times, looking up at me with those gorgeous eyes, longing for a treat. So I obliged. And then, she obligingly went on a 9K run with us! I actually think she liked it! We also got to say "hi" to her fur brother Buck, who has grown so much! Can't wait to run this big guy too! The Scoop: only pees today! Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 10.68 km DURATION: 1:15:42 Today I suffered from a terrible case of dead legs. There was no energy in them at all. Luckily, Lucy had enough energy for both of us! Our usually quick 10k took a little longer, but I wasn't going to give Lucy anything less than that because she always has energy to burn. We enjoyed the crisp November air and all the beautiful frosty Christmas decorations. She particularly enjoyed bird watching some very bold magpies and pigeons that didn't seem to think we were a threat. She also enjoyed our stop at the pet store so I could use the washroom. She was totally spoiled by the employees there, and got lots of pets from customers. I loved the big grin she gave me when I came back. We ended our run with many rounds of living room zoomies and snuggles. I hope she is as happy with our hour together as I am! Thanks Lucy! 3 poops, 3 pees. Runner: Laura ![]() DISTANCE: 9.04 km DURATION: 50:37 Happy Friday Lincoln! I've been lucky to have spent the last month in Greece and Kenya, so the frost this morning, combined with the sub zero temperature is somewhat of an adjustment for me. But I know I can count on you Linc, my well insulated furry friend, to provide the warmth today! Off we went, and it wasn't long before I felt the heat! Linc and I had a great run, and there is not much else to talk about but the weather! Have a great weekend buddy, see you Monday. Dog Business: 1 poop, many pees. Runner: Kathy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.02 km DURATION: 58:20 Today, Byrdie got to met Teddy's brother Keno who is staying with me until the new baby comes home. Once greetings were made and leashes untangled, Byrdie was off with the boys towards the Nose Creek pathways. It warmed my heart that she has no issues keeping up with the brothers. Teddy and Keno got some off-leash time running in and out of the Memorial Forest and Byrdie pranced on-leash with me towards all the activity. She was definitely just one of the guys! She was also sporting a new coat that kept her warm and she looked quite stylish. This outing went by so fast and I was sad to see it end. The scoop: pees only for all 3. Thanks again to their mom for the shortbread! Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 7.21 km DURATION: 50:04 Today Gogol and I crushed out the first 4K no problem. Once we got to the off-leash area, Gogol roamed free while I tried not to fall over on the slick icy paths. This meant that we were a bit slow. Actually, I was the slow one. Gogol was dashing in and out of the bushes, up and down the hill, and enjoying the outdoors to the max. He occasionally would slip a little on the ice but he was having a good time. Meanwhile, I sort of had a system of granny shuffling and sidestepping that worked great. Having four legs would be very useful in these conditions. 1 po0, 5 pees. Runner: Ryan ![]() DISTANCE: 8.47 km DURATION: 1:39:31 It’s always a treat when I get to visit with Marley; he’s such a sweetie.😊 The two of us were quite the pair this morning. Marley had a limp and my back was out. We may have been on the slow side today but that didn’t stop the party!😆 We hit the trails running (no) they were icy. My friend was doing much better than I was, old lady shuffle here I come! You know it, we’ve all done it before!😂 Anyways, we explored the upper trails and then hit some lower ones; it was nice. Not many people out this early as it was a little chilly. By the time we got close to home, the neighbourhood was alive and Marley found a couple of friends to play with.😁 Thanks for a delightful morning jaunt Marley! Good to see you again! 1 poo and several pees. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.45 km DURATION: 1:03:14 Okay, let’s face it - this morning we were done with the “how wonderful was the weather.. bla bla bla”.. 😂. With a -11 showing in my car; it was cold.. I guess it is time for gloves, hats, and scarves! While I found it cold, the kiddos seemed to enjoy it.. Even Java, was on the ball today and she took the lead a few times running! Sweet 😃. Since Mocha was limping the past couple of days, we went for the short loop with the gals. By now, you must know that there was no complaining on the gals' part! 😁. Mocha trotted without any issues. Shadow and I went back for another loop after dropping off the girls. While trotting, we stumbled on a $20 bills, laying there sad and feeling abandoned. We couldn’t pass by and not rescue it.. 😂.. So ya, it was an awesome run! The Poop Report: Shadow had 1 poop and 3 pees. Mocha had 1 poop and 3 pees. Java had 1 poop and 2 pees. Runner: Fab ![]() DISTANCE: 5.61 km DURATION: 50:11 Kenny was a very good boy this morning; he was waiting patiently for me at the door, and he didn't make as many stops to pee on our standard 1ish km run today. Usually, he makes sure he pees on every single pole, post, lamp, and bush on the block, but not today. When I first let him out he walked straight up to my car. Sorry buddy, we aren't going to the park today. Sully was also very good today. He didn't pull as much as he usually does with me. We managed to do a 4km today with a mix of running, and walking, and Sully, of course, added sliding to that list. Good job brothers. Kenny had 0 poos. Sully had 1 poo and both boys had many pees. Walker: Ryan ![]() DISTANCE: 6.56 km DURATION: 52:37 Happy Fri-yay, Kahlua! It was a bit chilly for our run today, so it took a while to warm up. Kahlua seemed a little sleepy today, so we took it slow and stuck to the smaller inclines. Kahlua looked so festive today in her green, sparkly collar — she’s really getting into the holiday spirit! She is becoming so calm around other dogs. Today we encountered a handful of them and she didn’t miss a beat. Kahlua kept her focus and we were able to keep our running pace. Unfortunately, while we were running along the river pathway, we turned a corner and there was a colony of rabbits... literally over 50 of them all bundled up together! This excited Kahlua and she wanted to go say hello, so she quickened her pace....a lot. It didn’t help that there was an icy patch on the path, this causing me to banana peel slip. Luckily, both Kahlua and I are okay. We took our time getting home and had a good, long hug after our run together. See you next week, girl! Runner: Lucia ![]() DISTANCE:: 4.13 km DURATION: 48:56 Wow! You girls did 8 kilometres yesterday with Tammy setting my expectations for today quite high. As I convinced the girls to emerge from bed after their post breakfast lay-down, we suited up and headed out! Gibbs was not pleased at all with how cold it was, and that she could see her own breath. I figured we would not break any records today, especially taking 20 minutes for our first kilometre. Finally, we picked up the speed, and Toki managed to rile Gibby up enough to really get a good running pace going. Both girls were shaking a little bit towards the 45 minute mark so I knew it was time to head for the warmth of home. This afternoon we will be sure to get back out for one last run before the snow begins to fall. Just 2 pees for Gibbons and 5 pees for Toki (poops are more of a backyard thing for these gals). Runner: Jaime ![]() DISTANCE: 7.39 km DURATION: 1:04:22 My Friday run with Charlie was much needed today. It's been a long week and I enjoyed every minute of the time we had. You can't go wrong spending an hour or so with Charlie! It was a bit chilly today but bright and sunny for a trek around Tuscany. Charlie did his usual stopping to check things out multiple times but also was very good at keeping up with me when I encouraged him to keep going. He loves to be outside so I think tries to make it last as long as he can. I look forward to Tuesday, these runs are a highlight in my schedule for sure! Charlie stopped about 8 times to pee and had one poo. Runner: Denise ![]() DISTANCE: 8.48 km DURATION: 1:22:47 Happy Thursday! Mona and Reilly were so ecstatic to see each other that we had to have a short party in the front yard before we could begin.😁 I thought these ladies were going to make me work today judging by the sprint.... we did to the corner😂 After that it was a sniff-a-thon, followed by a light jog down to the river, and the party was on AGAIN!😆 At first, Reilly and I thought Mona was crazy for going into the cold water but a short while later Reilly did the exact same thing!😳 Needless to say, I was de-icing the two of them CRAZY! Slowly( because of me), we made our way back up that hill and back to the comforts of home. Thanks for the entertaining adventure today Ladies! I had a lot of laughs! 2 poos for Reilly, 1 poo for Mona, and many pees each. Cheers! Looking forward to our next visit!😬 |
