Miss M came to stay for a couple days. She is just part of our household and family. Mornings always start by bumping Aoife off the couch so that Marley & me can have morning coffee cuddles. Marley is the ‘Big Sister’ at our house. Then, of course, she gives Henry the eyes so that the day starts off with some treats. Several pack walks with all her DGR friends. Including her soulmate DGR Ennis or the young Irish Sisters (Patti & Aoife), Marley keeps up and is still very young at heart. Play-time includes tug with the gator stuffed toy or even tossing the toy monkey around. Miss M has plenty of spunk. There is always time to snuggle between Henry and me when it is TV time. On this visit, Marley preferred Henry’s lap. Our time together always goes by too quickly. I know that you are soaking up all your families love at your house now.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour It was a great night for a cool run with Kismet tonight!! She and Loki greeted me with great big tail wags. Kismet picked which way we went! New obstacles this run included some shaded ice! Kismet's drive-by grass eating has turned into drive-by snow slurps! She is too funny. She is always checking behind her to see if I’m still there. Sadly, all squirrels were inside having their Halloween party tonight! The Scoop: 0 poops, 3 pees. Runner: Chris DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes A snowy run for Kali and my last run together this year, After we got out the door, Kali immediately dug her nose in the snow. We jogged down the hill to the dog park, Kali sprinted over to the park as soon as it was in sight. Kali found an abandoned tennis ball that we threw around and played fetch with for a bit. Throwing it became a little gross after a while as Kali got her saliva all over it. She made lots of friends in between the throws and played around lots today. We fetched our way across the park until we made it to the other side. I let Kali say goodbye to some friends and goodbye to the tennis ball and we went on our way. We took our time on the ice on the way back and gave Kali more time to sniff and explore. We made it back to the house with the warm sun shining on us to heat us up. Thanks for so many awesome runs this year Kali, I hope to see you next year and I really have enjoyed our time together! Until next time Kali! The Scoop: 1 poop, 3 pees. Runner: Mason DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.9 km DURATION: 57 minutes Autumn didn’t last long, today was full on winter sleet during Kahlua’s run! She was not a fan of the wet forecast, so we tried to duck into covered areas as much as we could. To keep warm, we went at a consistent moderate jogging pace - Kahlua didn’t seem too out of breath or fatigued. Since it was so sloppy out and people stayed indoors, we had most of the paths to ourselves which made it extra fun (even though we had to dodge some puddles). Kahlua seems to be in good health and her spirit is as lively as ever. I’m looking forward to more runs together! The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8K DURATION: 1 hour 5 minutes Good Afternoon, Today was gloomy, but it didn’t start snowing until the end of our run. Lucy and I ended up doing 2 laps around the lake because there were barely any people out. We had the place to ourselves! There were also lots of cool Halloween decorations on our run and we just had to get some photo shoots in as Lucy explored around the decor. Happy Halloween! The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Kristy DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 21 minutes Is it Christmas or Halloween? The girls were ready for almost anything. Patti was slicked out in her dashing raincoat. Miss Marley chose au naturel and Aoife chose her Monkey sweater. Aoife is excited for Halloween and it worked out perfectly for her to try it today. The girls were all happy to take a walk around Baker Park under some stipulations! We MUST start and finish at the off-leash park. Miss Marley supervised the Irish Sisters and let it be known when they got too rambunctious. Patti & Aoife were extra spunky today. The Doggy Business Report: Patti had 1 poop and a few pees. Miss Marley had a poop and a few pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 3.3 km DURATION: 56 minutes This is probably my last run with Marley for the year, so we wanted to make it an interesting one and try to take some paths we don’t usually take. I have had so many great runs with Marley this year and I hope to see him again sometime next year! After saying hi and giving Marley some pats we moved on into the fields and up near the school for him to sniff around. We took our time in the field so that Marley could sniff as much as he likes. Thankfully no poop for him to roll in today. Marley looked like he was ready to go home already! but I convinced him to keep coming into some alleys and explore some more! He proceeded to eat some grass along the edges of the houses. Marleys limp started to show more so we slowed it down, walked on grass and made sure we were near the house so we could go back when he was ready. We wandered around a little more but as soon as Marley saw the house he didn’t want to continue. I went to the backyard with him so we could hang out and play a little more, I think Marley sensed it might be our last walk for a while cause he was giving me extra love and putting his paw on me while i was petting him. Such a cutie! I am definitely gonna miss our runs together! Hope you enjoyed them as much as I have! I hope to run with this golden boy again next year! The Scoop: 2 poops, 4 pees. Runner: Mason DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes Good morning kiddos! Oh oh, it looks like we were supposed to have lots of snow. Thankfully, it didn’t happen. Auntie Fab got up early to make sure to take the pooches out before the snowstorm. The weather gods decided that …”Naaaah, it was a joke. I wanna see if you are all ready for me!" It was so quiet this morning, and Conor & Leia wanted to trot so some trotting we did. It was so nice, I almost forgot that night running is one of my favourite thing to do. Looks like Leia and Conor agreed with me. Today, we didn’t see the “naughty" lady deer. Maybe she decided to go hide somewhere to shelter herself against the snowstorm. Conor and Leia had an awesome trot. Even Conor enjoyed trotting now that Leia is with him . Have a great weekend kiddos. The Scoop: Conor had 1 poop and 2 pees. Leia had 1 pee only. Runner: Fab 'Sir' Sully is here! It is always exciting when Sully is around. He is the life of the party, for sure. On the topic of parties, there were many doggy outings. Time was spent with DGR dogs Ennis, Marley B,, Huxley - his main man, Aoife, and his sweetheart Patti. There is something about my backseat that these two love to cuddle. I have a feeling he may sleep all of tomorrow, just to recoup from this past week. After daytimes filled with play and walks, Sully and Henry (my husband) had several in depth conversations. Just look at Sully’s face intently listening. And then….time to snooze. Sully you are one colourful character. We love your enthusiasm for life.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 32 minutes The Apple Dumpling Gang was back together for a Halloween Crawler. Huxley, Sully and I zipped over to Nosehill. We met Miss Marley and Aoife, who of course got their chauffeur (Henry) to drive them over. Yes, it was a crisp 1 degree and the girls preferred a warm ride to the party station. Huxley & Sully had a fabulous tussle with a big stick as we crept into Nosehill. A tad bit of a spooky grey morning today. Lots of fun on the trails. These dogs love any reason to get together and have a party. Time to dream of all those Halloween treats they are entitled to. Remember NO chocolate! It is not good for the stomach. The Doggy Business Report: all the dogs had many pees. Huxley had 2 poops, Sully had 1 and Miss M had 1 poop too. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 5 minutes Jasper's favourite season is headed our way! I think he can sense snow is in the forecast. Is he a Weather Forecaster? No, but today he had lots of pep in his step. Teddy joined him and we did a route we have not done is awhile where we go past Safety City. The boys were really playful when we returned to the off-leash green space and enjoyed some short runs through the tall grass. Thanks again to Jasper and his mom for the early Christmas baking. I will hide some for Jasper's regular runner, my son Ryan. These treats won't last long in our household. The Scoop: lots of pees for both boys. Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute It was my 7th and final run of the week and I was thrilled it was with Miss Ella, I decided to take her on a spooky route. We saw ghost, goblins, black cats, graveyards, skeletons and a big spider. It looks like Ella is screaming in the top photo but she was actually yawning. She was most afraid of a skeleton reaching through the gate but I gave her a treat and she lost all fear. It was a thrilling fun and we could feel a chill in the air. Have a wonderful Halloween Ella, The Scoop: 1 pee during her backyard time . Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 3.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 11 minutes This handsome boy was all about the sniffs today! So we decided to make a tour of the neighbourhood and try and log some kilometres. Buck showed me around to check out the views and some of the Halloween displays. Such boo-tiful pictures Buck! Thanks for being a wonderful tour guide! The Scoop: several pees and a poop. Runner: Pat DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.5 km DURATION: 59 minutes Who is this guy?! Rossi was a completely different dog around other dogs today! No pulling at all! He sat and stayed ON HIS OWN when we saw another dog multiple times! It was a crisp and cool jog today. He wanted to turn around early which meant more detours through the neighbourhood but still had a great day! It was the best so far with me!! Great work Rossi!!! The Scoop: 1 poop and a bunch of pees. Runner: Brad DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes The girls started out slow (both behind me for a bit) which never happens but they picked it up once they were warm and we were able to do a nice long loop. I saw my favourite Halloween tombstones. I don't know if you can read them in the photos but they were "I did my own research" and "Crisp P. Bacon." Haha! Thanks Reba! The Scoop: 1 pee, 0 poops.
