![]() DISTANCE: 3.20 km DURATION: 55:21 Do you ever notice how 3 is such an iconic number in folklore? (Think Goldilocks, Pigs, Trolls, etc.) Well, today I have a Halloween tale about The Dog Runner and the Three Dogs. There once was a Dog Runner named Tammy, whose job it was to walk three dogs. First there's Kaiser, who at first glance, seems part monster; not the scary type, more of the Sesame Street type. You have to look past his rambunctious greeting, and focus on his big smile. He's just a friendly giant at heart! Then there's Pinky, who weighs as much as Kaiser's paw, but matches his personality ounce for ounce. Finally, there's Kacie, the gracious monarch of the trio, who puts Kaiser in his place with a stern growl, whom Pinky runs towards like a beacon for Pinky's playfulness, whom dog runners across the land adore. This quartet trekked across the land of Nosehill Park. And this is where our story ends, with no adventure after all! Just a lovely morning walk! Anticlimactic maybe but the story lies within these colourful characters! Happy Halloween to this trio! Scoop: all three pooped and peed. Walker: Tammy

![]() DISTANCE: 6.00 km DURATION: 58:01 Happy Halloween Jackson! I just happened to be in your hood running DGR Dog Avi and your runner Kate e-mailed that she is sick so what luck that I get to spend time with you on Halloween. Your mom said you sometimes need some encouragement so she gave me a few treats and this seemed to keep you on the move whether we walked, jogged or ran this morning. I get it Jackson! I teach fitness classes so I can indulge in a treat or two from time to time, She also said you were a bit spooked by some of the Halloween decor so we were lucky that most of our run was spent in the park through fields and in neighbourhoods that forgot that today is Halloween. Jackson was okay taking a photo by the friendly ghosts No scoop to report. Great seeing you Jackson. You are looking trim! Hope our paths cross again soon. Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 8.39 km DURATION: 58:35 No tricks, but plenty of treats for Lucy today! We had a longer run than our last which was nice but kept it clean on the concrete and only stopped a couple times to take pics. It is Halloween today so we HAD to get a picture of this lovely girl next to some decorations. Hopefully, I get a chance to run no this sweet girl again but for now I wish you the best and a great rest of the year Lucy! The Scoop: no poops, 1 pee. Runner: Sarah ![]() DISTANCE: 11.21 km DURATION: 1:07:48 Happy Halloween!!! Bouy and I had a GREAT run this afternoon!! There were a lot of Halloween decorations to check out on our route and then we headed down into Fish Creek again. As we started our descent into the park, we had a confrontational moment with a mule deer! Bouy wasn’t sure if he wanted get closer or get further away but these two had a stare down. Then we hit the river for a big drink and it was such a lovely afternoon that we stopped again for a Kodak pose. Bouy isn’t a fan of running up hills so I think he was cursing me as we climbed the big golf course road. We finished off with a nice easy cruise pace home. Bouy's Scoop: 1 poop, several pees. Runner: Nancy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.75 km DURATION: 1:22:20 Mira DISTANCE: 1.01 km DURATION: 21:48 Mira and Mulligan Yay! It’s Wednesday and I get to party with my favourite Tuscany two-some, Mira and Mulligan!😊 Not sure what was happening out there today. It was very busy and every time Mira and I turned a corner, there were pooches, and more pooches😳 Some had lots to say so my friend had to get her two cents in😜. It’s okay Mira, I do that too! As we wandered about like a couple of zombies (spooky). my friend cleverly led me to the place of freedom (for her). Well look who gets a little free range time.... smarty pants!😆 Mira was having such a great time bouncing around, running at top speed that we stayed a little longer than usual. And with her tongue hanging down to her ankles, we headed on back for our friend Mully for another kilometre. Thanks for a delightful jaunt around the hood’ Mira and Mulligan! 1 poo and several pees for Mira; 1 poo and 2 pees for Mully today. Cheers and have a Happy Halloween! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE; 7.05 km DURATION: 1:04:01 Hello Miss Freckles! She was so exited to see me this morning that she came flying down the stairs; wagging her tail at 100 miles an hour. It took us no time to get ready and go.. Today, we decided to go for a mix of trail and path. Yes, I know.. trail running is not as fast but it is more fun with all the great stuff to sniff. The weather was perfect for Freckles! We all know this lady doesn’t like the heat too much, so today was a perfect day for her. Freckles got to meet a few doggies today. Two of them was playing in a private yard. She started to wag her tail and jump up and down. It looks like she wanted to join the party😊! As usual, we had our photos session and Freckles approved the ones I choose to put on the blog 😁. The Poop Scoop, Freckles had 1 poo and 3 pees. Runner: Fab ![]() DISTANCE: 2.70 km DURATION: 40:23 Hello ladies! These two poopers were full of beans today and couldn’t wait to get outside and let loose!😆 So we headed to our favourite green space and the gals went wild! Lucy and Nikita covered almost every inch of that field. Clearly, they had some energy to burn as they were checking out every gopher hole with high hopes... Sorry gals, not until next spring!😆 They then were obsessed with a magpie that finally clued in and flew away. After that, my friends were pooped so the resting and relaxing began.🙃 Once they were able😜, we headed on back to the comforts of home. Thanks for the Halloween Party ladies! Pleasure as always! 1 poo and 3 pees for Lucy; 4 pees for Nikita today. Cheers! Have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 2.49 km DURATION: 50:38 Well, it does smell like poop and dog breath in the car post-trip, so I'd say it was about the average Edworthy Park trip. Sully was chasing Teddy, who was chasing the ball while Kenny was taking his sweet time not chasing anything. The park was a good choice for this Halloween day adventure because it would be really spooky if there were no dogs there. The wind passes through pale trees and grass almost like it's sucking out their souls like how the Dementors from Harry Potter do. Without the dogs barking and chasing, that would be all you would hear. No energy, no life, just the crinkle of dead foliage to the eerie rhythm of the wind. What was truly frightening is that there were 7 bags of poop (Kenny had 3, Sully had 2 and Teddy had 2). The pups also marked and peed. We also ran into friend Keri and her dog Murphy so that was a nice treat! Walkers: Ryan and Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 8.89 km DURATION: 1:06:53 Kahlua and I had a spook-tacular run this afternoon! We hit the ground running and headed to City Hall to see if the Calgary 2026 rally was still happening (and to take a few photos). From there, we trotted down Stephen Avenue and adjudicated the downtown folk in their Halloween get-ups - not as impressive as we had hoped! From there, we headed to the river pathways...this was Kahlua's favourite part of the run. She saw many squirrels she wanted to chase after and even though we encountered a few other dogs, Kahlua was calm and collected. On to the next landmark! Stopping at the Peace Bridge was one of my highlights because as I was snapping a photo of my furry friend, she gave me a big, beaming smile. I truly love running with this pup! On our way back home, we gazed at the decorations and she was particularly fond of the pumpkins at this one house, so naturally we stopped for a mini photo shoot. It was an memorable Halloween for the two of us. See you next time, K! Runner: Lucia ![]() DISTANCE: 6.86 km DURATION: 1:04:07 It was a great day for rabbits in the dog park. We made sure we were well away from the road as a few other dogs had their chase instinct kick into gear and bolted across the road. Molson was happy to visit a crew of Labs and Poodles before finishing up along the reservoir with a pair of Corgis who had to look up high to get his attention. One poo and half a dozen pees. Runner: Bob ![]() DISTANCE: 6.53 km DURATION: 1:01:20 For some reason, I thought it would be a quiet run today but I was wrong 😂. Although I came to the door very quietly, the kiddos heard me and started barking their little hearts out. Then the door opened and here they went for a “zoom zoom” party. It was so funny to see them running everywhere. They also got to have some Halloween treats a.k.a. rabbits poo. 😂 We had a great run. I decided to go run the trails first as Java and Mocha don’t get to go there and the gals loved it. I could see their smiley faces. The weather was beautiful and I got to take some photos of one of the most amazing sunset 🌅. The Poop Scoop: Shadow had 4 poops and many pees. Mocha had 2 poops and 3 pees. Java had 1 poop and 3 pees. Runner: Fab ![]() DISTANCE: 4.07 km DURATION: 55:20 There was definitely a bit of chilly spookiness in the air for today’s Halloween run. Gibbons was slightly undecided about going out today but with just a tiny bit of coaxing we were all out the door. Our pace was pretty relaxed with lots of starts and stops. It was kind of like trick or treating. The girls were definitely trying to sniff out some treats but (thankfully!) didn’t find any other than the ones in my pocket. We stayed pretty close to home just to be on the safe side 😉. After the run, the girls had a big play in the yard. The scoop: lots of pees for Toki, a couple for Gibbons, and no poops. Runner: Carolyn ![]() DISTANCE: 9 km DURATION: 1 hr It was such a great time today! We checked out some decorated houses and took some pics ! It was cold at first but we both had good stamina and warmed up fast! Linc got to do a trick posing for pics and got plenty of treats too!! What a great Halloween morning!! There were lots of birds out today and he wanted to chase them, I talked him out of it😉 1 poop and 4 pees. Runner: Oxana ![]() DISTANCE: 9.28 km DURATION: 1:05:46 My morning run with Avi started with him howling at me like a werewolf. Actually, he gave me a lovely Husky howl to the moon as he was so excited to run. Okay, my sweet pumpkin, let's go to the graveyard as it is Halloween after all. Avi had some great energy today and I wish I could have run a bit faster for him but I have had some hip issues. Yup, old bones! we just went for distance and Avi definitely earned a post-run treat. The scoop: 1 poo and a bazillion pees. I hope you enjoy Fright Night Avi! Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 10.53 km DURATION: 1:06:01 HAPPY HALLOWEEN, Nell! Today, we are the running dead, SPOOKY. We floated like (speedy) ghosts around the river. As we soared like spirits in the night, I shared with Nell some of the spookiest ghost stories of Calgary. The one that creeped her out the most was the Zoo Bridge. Legend that police officers still get calls to the area because there are reports that claim to hear the screams of a child. However, once arriving on the scene, there is no sign of a child in sight! Years ago, six-year-old Donnie was playing in the field, now the zoo, when a man approached him offering candy, then lured him down under the bridge where he was murdered. Some say Donnie has never left. It is safe to say, we went nowhere near that bridge, but the story sure did make for a spooktacular run! Thanks for the Halloween fun and chilling ghost tales, Nell! See you on Wednesday!! The scoop: 1 pee. Runner: Paige |
