![]() DISTANCE: 8.58 km DURATION: 1:19:46 Happy Friday afternoon Mira, I know you've been patiently waiting for someone to come run with you. Well I'm finally here! Mira is always very affectionate when she greets you at the door, so excited to get running. Well my friend gave a whole new meaning to casual Fridays 😂 or maybe because it was later in the day? I do believe Mira was already in weekend mode. It was a Friday afternoon meander with Mira through the neighbourhood. All good as I like to take my time some days. I get it. There were so many things to sniff and look at. She even attempted to catch a mouse. I really don't know who was more entertained Mira or me😜 Thanks for the great afternoon journey Mira and enjoy your weekend. Cheers! 1 poo and a lot of peeing going on. Runner: Tracy

![]() DISTANCE: 10.01 km DURATION: 1:01:01 Hi Sam! So nice to meet you! Felt like home since I used to live in this neighbourhood so we said hello and then got on our way! I've heard he is a quick and active fella so I decided to let him set the pace! Boy did I regret all those fish and chips and drinks I had in Scotland. It was a beautiful sunny day and I often had to check if he was still attached to me because he was always right by my side. Such a pleasure to run with and so handsome! We were close to 10km near the end and I decided we just had to get there. Looking forward to more runs with you (hopefully!) in the near future! Four pees no poops! Runner: Lauren ![]() DISTANCE: 5.28 km DURATION: 51 minutes Kenny has many endearing qualities! I love how he brings me a toy upon entering his home. Today's toy was the octopus. He also has a cat doppelganger and Biggelsworth was cuddling in Kenny's crate this morning. I believe I have mentioned these qualities before so I will also share one of my favourite endearing qualities. He likes to do tight circles before he goes to the bathroom. Today, I thought he would get dizzy but he did about 6 complete circles before getting to business. Our stroll today was really joyful with some sunshine, blue skies and colourful leaves. I feel like we can always know what season we are in by the photos we take by the home decoration store. The Scoop: 1 poop, 8 pees (but who is counting!) Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 9.00 km DURATION: 1:02:31 I had a great run with Lincoln today! We didn't cover the distance I had planned, but did some wonderful work with the leash and politely passing other people, dogs, cyclists and other moving objects. We headed to Edworthy Park and tried turning 'the other way' down the path for a tiny bit, and worked on not reacting to others. I was really pleased with how well Lincoln was listening, and I'm sure he was pleased with the treats he was getting! We headed back up the big hill to get home which was....tiring! Wrapped up our time today by winding through the neighbourhood a bit before resting and rolling in the grass a few houses before Lincoln’s. There was one poop and two pees and a lot of marking today. Runner: Christine ![]() DISTANCE: 6.81 km DURATION: 59:21 We had beautiful weather on our run; it was sunny and warm. The nice weather meant the trails were busy with lots of other runners and furry friends. Zenna met some friendly dogs, including a tiny Yorkshire Terrier! We checked out the path into Sandy Beach Park and Zenna even got a chance to cool off and splash in the Elbow River! The scoop: 4 pees and 1 poo. Runner: Mel DISTANCE: 5.85 DURATION: 1:05:31
I was so happy that I got to repeat the Golden party. With four such beautiful dogs, I think we really must be quite the sight! I even tried to capture it with a selfie. Amazingly I have all six faces in there, or at least most of Sasha's and my face. I also took a close-up of Roxy's face as she must have gotten into something green... Maybe it will bring her good luck?? We also got a great photo of litter-mates Sasha and Molson. Our happy pack walked through the green belt off-leash area, and surprisingly all four dogs were fine with staying on leash. We veered off and looped back via the Aspen Trail. And other than the odd moment where it felt like we were playing Twister, or maybe because of that, we all had a lot of fun at our Golden Party of Six! Doggy business: Rusty: one pee Sasha: one pee and two poops Molson: 2 pees and Roxy: 2 pees. Runners: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 10.05 km DURATION: 1:18:56 HAPPY THURSDAY BUSTER! When I picked my friend up this morning he was still enjoying his breakfast. So I patiently waited for him to finish. All good and we were off! No, not like lightening it was more like we were both how shall I say this politely... " out to lunch" There in body not in mind, anyways once we got it together it was great. Apparently we both had the same plan for our run😊. Down to the river, why not it's a beautiful day. Mr. Fitness strikes again! Buster did amazing today we stopped at the river so he could cool off. Buster also needed two aid stations today (drink and refuel😜). I'm always looking out for you buddy. I pulled out my phone to check our distance oh ya we did it! 10km woo woo, Buster we are in the big leagues now. Thanks for the phenomenal run today Buster! Enjoy your nap. Cheers! 5 poos and seriously never going to count the pees. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.43 km DURATION:: 1:03:42 After a really rough weekend and an already challenging week, it was comforting to be in Ruby's company again. She consistently reminds me that despite how I'm feeling, I can still run through the grass and trees breathing in clean air and exhaling all the stress. Ruby really wanted to stop and sniff the whole way but I persistently coached her to keep moving and after 2K, she did amazingly well. Every so often she needed a calming sniff but then it was back to running. Ruby made me laugh when she saw a squirrel scampering on top of a fence. She tried to run after it, which is pretty "normal" dog behaviour. But usually, Ruby is busy sniffing and doesn't notice or show interest in squirrels and rabbits. So, I was delighted to see her energy and interest in her surroundings. I love running with Ruby! Pee=3, Poop =0. Runner: Rosemary ![]() DISTANCE: 6.54 km DURATION: 54:30 First run back after two weeks in Scotland! Ria was bouncing off the walls when I first walked in so that was a very warm welcome and off we went! It's Ria's last run for a while so I wanted to maximize our company and we went to all our favourite spots today-which of course as we all know included the river! Oh sweet Ria I will miss you! Lots of pets and treats were had including one of me trying to get her inside after her run. She wasn't ready yet! Also had to take one more little team photo of us! Hope to see you around the neighbourhood! Runner: Lauren DISTANCE: 8.49 km DURATION: 1:06:11
How's my Lucy Goosey😊. When I say this to Lucy she gets soooo happy and wiggles and wags her tail. So I try and get 2 or 3 'Lucy Goosies' in before we head out the door. Lucy's excitement to run is like a double espresso - she just pumps you up. Today's run with Miss L was a real mixed bag of treats. We hit the residential neighborhood for a little variety and then we did some trail running. I believe this is a first for L.L. (Lovely Lucy) and myself. Wow, Lucy loved this! She went straight off the pavement onto the trail and into the high grass she shot off like a rocket chasing a gopher, then a bird and finally a mouse. I was so glad she was attached to me as always because I was flying. I think Lucy Goosey will be having a nap this afternoon. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and 1 pee. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 9.79 km DURATION: 1:14:04 Today's run had the perfect weather to be out with Abby & Reilly. It was a crisp, fresh morning. We seemed to be having a 'really close' day. When I was latching Abby up she snuggled right into me and just wanted a hug and then Reilly tried to squeeze in between us with a shoe in her mouth. Of course. I'm feeling the love. 💕So off we went and did our pond loop and we had a quick stop for Reilly to pee and Abby was literally right behind me so with the sudden stop she came between my knees. 'Oh Hello Abby'. Then we had another magical close moment at Baker Park when Reilly crossed over my right foot and Abby over my left foot, we had another group hug. 😊All in all, a close day indeed. The Doggy Business Report: Abby 1 & 1 and Reilly 1 poop and many pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.70 km DURATION: 57:05 So little, mighty Mona set a record for me today that I'm pretty sure will hold through the week, if not the next several months for fastest start. We ran 1.95 KM in the first ten minutes!! We started from a different spot today in Patterson. We flew along the streets to the intersection of Bow and Sarcee. And continued speedily to the Edworthy Off-leash Park. A few dogs tried to keep up with us but they were held back by owners who were walking. Not us! We ran along the same trails as last week before turning around. From there, it was steady climbing through the park, up the pathways, and then more climbing into the community of Coach Hill. At this point Mona was finally slowing down. No wonder... we had run further at that 45 minute mark than we had in over an hour last week. Great job, Mighty Mona!! Doggy business, many pees but no poops. Runner: Tammy DISTANCE: 4.77 km DURATION: 1:01:51
What do you call a beautiful autumn stroll with 4 Golden Retrievers? The answer is a Golden Event. Today, Bob and I got to take out Molson and Roxy and their owner's parent's Goldens named Sasha and Rusty. As we traveled through the Aspen Trail, the dogs were very pleased with all the scents and Bob and I were thrilled with the sound of crunching leaves. With 4 gorgeous dogs at our side, we were quite the spectacle and we received many compliments like "Beautiful!." "What a crew!" "Impressive!" One gentleman commented that we had a lot of dog food to buy. We also ran into a family with a 4 month old Border Collie/Lab cross who inquired about our Golden companions. Coincidentally, their puppy was named Roxy so we got a photo of her with our Roxy. Today, Bob and I also had a great time catching up. Our DGR runners are amazing people! Good luck on your upcoming half marathon in North Carolina (#20)! I think Bob would agree, it was a real treat spending time with this foursome. The scoop: 1 poop and 1 pee (Rusty), 2 pees (Molson), 1 pee (Roxy) and 1 pee (Sasha). It was a bit challenging counting with so many Goldens. Runners; Bob and Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 6.49 km DURATION: 57 minutes Good morning Kenny! Yes I'm happy to see you too! It has been a couple months since I've seen Kenny, but I know he's been out running a ton with Ruth. So it didn't surprise me when he headed out with such gusto! We trotted happily along to River Park. Smiling (both of us), sniffing (Kenny), sniffling (me), and marking the odd tree or bush (definitely Kenny!) There were many dogs out today enjoying the sunshine and beautiful Autumn colours. It was great to be out with this community of dog-loving/people-loving beings. Kenny only peed this morning. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.19 km DURATION: 58:22 Rise n Shine Jasper! Today, we had an early morning run as I have a lot on the go. Jasper must have woke up on the right side of the bed as he was in an excellent mood with lots of energy. There were even times during our run that he was setting the pace for Teddy and me. It was a gorgeous morning and the lighting for photos was just right. The sun glistened on both Jasper and Teddy's fur. They looked so shiny! It must have been Border Collie Day at the park as there were several agile dogs of this breed at the park to play with. We had a quick stop at the river and headed up our hill to the entrance to River Park. On the incline, the boys took a few steps into the woods and found a gentleman cozied up in his sleeping bag and a makeshift tent. The dogs nudged/licked him as if to say, "Rise n Shine." The scoop: no poops and 4 pees. Runner: Ruth |
