Over the years I have gotten to know these two girls pretty well – so I was beyond excited to be able to have them for a weekend sleepover. Luckily, Gibbons and Toki are very routine based, so our days were all pretty consistent. In the mornings Gibbons would hop out of bed usually followed by sleepy-eyed Toki and I. We would have our pees and then make breakfast and coffee. Next, we would all lay on the couch, the girls having another morning nap while I read my book. It was usually around 10:30 am that the girls started getting jittery so we would play in the backyard for a while and then go on our runs. When we got home, it was second play-time and we would all chase each other around the backyard. In the afternoon, I would work while the girls were on very diligent squirrel duty. Gibs would alternate between backyard squirrels and front yard mailman. Gibbons would never let me forget it was dinner-time because she would sit on the chair at the table so politely awaiting her meal. Then, we would take an evening walk around the lakes, saying hi to the neighbours and watching the sun go down. Toki usually preferred to have her dinner after the walk and both of them got their bones for dessert. Some final pees before the three of us would cuddle under the covers of the bed and fall asleep.
Some of my favourite moments from this weekend were when I made the bed in the morning and then walked back into the room and I was confused as it was completely messy again. Then, I saw Toki creeping under the covers and couldn’t stop laughing - she had gone back to bed after breakfast. Another was when I was doing my yoga practice and Gibbons came beside me. At first it was to give me kisses but then she started watching me and doing some of the stretches along with me!
I had such a lovely weekend with these girls in their amazing home. Everything was so easy and comfortable.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6
DISTANCE: 7 km DURATION: 1 hour
Our last run of our sleepover and we couldn't have asked for a better day. With a slight breeze the three of us headed out. We saw the trees changing and apple trees fruiting and a rainbow in the fountain! We did a brisk walk around the neighbourhood, getting as many sniffs and pees as desired. Then we dropped Gibs off and Toki and I did a sprint up to the hills. I think we were both tired from our last two days but we made it up to the top and even a bit more! I colour coded our estimated route on the map attached. Now we are getting ready to say our goodbyes while playing in the backyard. Both have pooped and peed. Estimated 3K with both pups and 4K with Toki alone.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5
DISTANCE: 7.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes
Long time no see, my furry friends of Auburn Bay. Winter was so excited, I opened the door one crack... and Bang/Boom... Winny was out of the gate. Checking out the back to school logistics, we headed around the school then through the neighbourhood. Next up KONA!!! And sniff and stop and pull... Oh, I get it Kona, you don’t love jogging. We still got some exercise and had a fun morning. Winter is the only bio break or one pee today.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4
DISTANCE: 4.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes
Good morning Mr Conor! Happy Monday to you! It looks like it was a Porties Party yesterday Today Conor was so happy as Pinky came along for a walk. But then, when Pinky went home earlier, Mr Conor wasn’t that impressed We took time to take photos on our outing. It looks like fall is upon us now with coolish temperatures in the morning. I think we should all move to BC. I think they are a season behind us and bit just an hour, The Scoop: Conor had a poop and a pee.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3
DISTANCE: 6.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes
It was windy and warm on our lunchtime run/walk today. Kahlua and I started things off with an adventure through Sunnyside. We saw lots of dogs being walked on the Mchugh Bluff's trails, so we mostly stuck to the sidewalks. We did get to run on one section of the trails though, and I can’t say it was the most enjoyable time to be on them. This was because the whole hill was swarming with locusts (or some other long flying insects). After about 30 minutes of jogging (with stops), we slowed things down to a walk. Kahlua was panting heavily, so we made a quick stop at the river before heading home. Great job today girl! The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poo.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2
DISTANCE: 8.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 7 minutes
Rossi was excited to hit the road! As usual, he had a consistent pace throughout the run. He was a bit distracted by a couple dogs along our path, mainly because he wanted to play with them! After many calming pats, he refocused and we were on our way again. The Scoop: 5 pees, 1 poo.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1
DISTANCE: 9.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 22 minutes
Good Afternoon! It was a wonderful run with Miss Lucy today. We enjoyed the last day of August with a steady-paced run. We took some walking breaks near the end as Lucy was slowing down. We also had numerous water/shade/belly rub breaks today too. This morning Lucy was upbeat as always, and was excited to get some fresh air. We passed lots of smiling faces and shared some "good days"." On our way home, we decided to take a scenic route and run by some community ponds to say hello to some ducks. Lucy was very well behaved, and was a great listener when asked not to go sniff a neighbourhood cat out for a walk. Lucy had a blast and a half playing with a stick while she rested. As we got moving again, Lucy was eager to continue play and brought the stick as carry-on luggage for a short while. The Scoop: 2 poops, 2 pees.
It is Saturday and the time is 3 Bells - Ennis flies into the Jeep with a big grin. Hello ‘Gentle Soul’, it is always a treat to have you come for a visit. This was just a last-minute little sleepover. My Mother and her dog Freddie were at our house when we arrived back. Ennis and Freddie got on so well, I think they commiserated together about how Aoife has too much energy. Ennis also has another new fan, my Mom thought he was so sweet. I could tell that Ennis was enjoying all the extra attention and admiration he was receiving. Time got away on us this afternoon while at Nosehill. Ennis and Aoife played and romped around. These cooler temperatures are greatly appreciated by our canine family members. Get your suitcase ready Ennis, we are about to have a longer holidays together soon. I will make sure we have some fun adventures.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 12 km DURATION: 1 hour 30 minutes
This morning Toki and I went first and did an amazing loop around the neighbourhood and past the hills. The app and my GPS system are not getting along so I drew it out for you! I think it was around 12km . Then we suited up Gibs to do a cool-down run but Toki was pooped so she stayed behind. Gibs and I scooted back up the hills, She was full of energy. We went through the long grass and took some sniffs of the last few flowers. It is starting to feel like fall. Gibs and I probably did 2 to 3k. The girls have been sleeping since we got home. No poops yet for Gibs one for Toki and many pees.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY
DISTANCE: 13 km DURATION: 1 hour 30 minutes
Today is the start of my weekend slumber party with the girls and we were all booming with excitement. So much that we decided to go on a morning walk into the hills when I arrived. Gibs happily came with us and we had fun frolicking in the sun. We met some other pups and zoomed along the trails. We made it home just before the rain and did a full 4k. This afternoon, Toki and I did a 13 km run doing some laps around the neighbourbood and the hills. Poops for both when we got home. Now we are lazing in bed. Can't wait for tomorrow. No map.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #9
DISTANCE: 1.7 km DURATION: 33 minutes
Good Afternoon Pinky! Thank you for your patience! I know, I know... I was a bit later today. Daddy thought Miss Pinky wasn’t at her best today. I believe he was right as Pinky was panting a bit more although it wasn’t that hot out. She also had some tummy issues - poor little gal. I ket her roam free so she could control her own speed and she went around the lake a few time! We stopped for some nice photos by the lake. The Scoop - Pinky had to stop 3 times for poop and one pee.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #8
DISTANCE: 8.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes

I love running with my good buddy Nell!! The Scoop:
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7
DISTANCE: 10.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 11 minutes
Friday's Happy Hour Special.... a run with Rossi We had an energetic start to our run as Rossi's owner and daughter arrived home as we were heading out. Rossi was beside himself with excitement! We progressed from an energized greeting to a wrestle to Rossi refusing to move when he realized they weren't coming with us on our run Once I convinced him to start running, we had a very smooth run from then on. Heading down to the river and over to Edworthy, Rossi ran at a good pace. He was a very happy dog wanting to make friends with people we passed on the narrow trail and a group of women paddling at one of his drink spots. When we crossed the Crowchild footbridge, Rossi sensed we were headed for home and he picked up the pace settling into 5:10 speed, I think he was in a hurry to get home to his owner and daughter! Rossi did a great job responding to commands today and certainly earned his treats. When I let him back in the house, he greeted his owner and his daughter with enthusiasm even after running 10km There is no one with energy like this dog! The Scoop: 8 pees, 2 poops.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6
DISTANCE: 5.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes
I think Toki and I have something in common. We both aren’t exactly early risers! Toki had just gotten up from a nap when I arrived and she was a little bit sleepy during the early goings of our run. So silly! But of course, she perked up soon and was her usual speedy self. Gibbons was up and at 'em and ready to go, though. This was so awesome! We once again spotted some squirrels and saw some other dogs which is always exciting. The girls always seem so happy to go on an outing with me and explore a bit and it’s so fun to get to enjoy that with them. Toki and I even went into the wooded hills behind the neighbourhood which was wonderful! She was absolutely flying up and down the hills so I was definitely being pushed in order to keep up with her, but that’s always a welcomed challenge. Never stop being speedy girls! The Scoop: Gibbons had 4 pees & 1 poo. Toki had 3 pees.
DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5

Hello Lucy! Time to venture into the neighbourhood. Hitting the pathways to her new favourite hills. Lucy didn't hold back. Let's go! C'mon, why are you going so slow? There's smells to smell and things to do. Let's explore! When the run was over, the water dish was drained. I guess we know the workout was good and Lucy was thirsty. Thanks for the run today Lucy! The Scoop: 2 pees.
