![]() DISTANCE: 10.28 km DURATION: 1:09:00 Yay!! It's Friday Nell, the best day of the week! The weekend is finally here. And there's no better way to kick off a fantastic weekend than a sunny morning run. Now, it wouldn't be a "Paige and Nell" run without a little excitement right!? RIGHT. This time, we were not first on the scene; however, we did get to witness the beginnings of a fire in China Town. We were there when the first truck began fighting the blaze and looked on as more and more trucks came screaming down the streets from every angle. Talk about a wild morning! On the positive side, it seemed that the firefighters had the fire under control and hopefully no one was seriously injured. As for Nell and I, we had a lovely run and are both ready for a relaxing weekend! Thanks for the fun run, Nell. I'll see you Wednesday miss Nell. The scoop: 1 pee. Runner: Paige

![]() DISTANCE: 4.43 km DURATION: 1:05:51 Oh the dreaded tummy troubles. There was another busy night into the wee hours of the morning at The Portie Residence. Miss Java was experiencing tummy upset and I understand that Mocha & Shadow (plus Mom) kept her company during her time of need. This morning a rather sleepy Java came to say ‘Hi’. We decided we would all go for a stroll which everyone was happy to do. Fresh, crisp air, wagging tails and sniffers on - we hit the pond pathway. Miss Java went for 30 minutes today and she was really good. After dropping her off, I thought Mocha & Shadow could pick the pace. We did a bit of jogging but they seemed happy (especially Miss Mocha) to power walk. Except when.......... we hit the entrance of their cul-de-sac, Miss Mocha was vroom! I’m going home! 😊 These 3 have such fun and different personalities. Thank you C for the doggy treats, I have some very willing participants who will be delighted. Have a restful long weekend. The Doggy Business Report: Java 1 poop & 2 pees. Mocha had 1 poop and 5 pees. Shadow had 3 poops and many pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 5.23 km DURATION: 58:44 Good morning Byrdie! One thing that really struck me today about this little cutie is that she is not shy at all! When Byrdie first started, one of her owner's goals for her was for her to have some socialization. Well I'd say mission accomplished. She smiles and wants to say "Hi" to all doggies and many humans too. And looking back at the photos she certainly isn't camera shy either! What a cutie! Scoop: One of each today. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.55 km DURATION: 44:24 It’s been a while since I’ve seen these two cutie pies.😊 Luckily for me their human was home so there was no playing keep away with my shoe! I won’t mention any names... (Toki....!😆) Gibbons, Toki and I went for a good, old-fashioned sniff and stroll first. You can tell Gibbs has had it with her cast! We dropped her off and then Toki and I hit the pavement. What goes down must come back up😳 I have one thing to say about that hill: GROSS! Although we did get a “ good job runners!’ and a 👍🏿 from a guy on a bike headed down. That was nice. Toki and I finished up with a loop around the pond and happily trotted on home. Thanks for the warm welcome today ladies! It was great to see you gals again. 1 poo and 4 pees for Gibbons and about 6 pees for Toki today. Have a fantastic weekend! Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.36 km DURATION: 1:06:41 Well it's Friday and a serious case of Stop-and-Flop has inflicted my friend, Juno. Typically Juno takes a few minutes to get started and then has a calm and steady run. But today, after taking that time to get started, we needed a periodic re-check and a re-start a few more times. I get it! It's Friday, there are pesky squirrels about, and the sunshine feels like it's telling us to put up our feet and have a snack. But in order to earn that snack, Juno, you need to run at my side and at least fake interest in steady movement. What a laugh. We fought the good fight, and arrived at home a little late but ready for a good long weekend. The scoop: 1 poop, a few pees. Runner: Sheri ![]() DISTANCE: 8.37 km DURATION: 1:00:38 All the dogs I run are so pretty! Lucy is just a golden ray of sunshine and I thought to celebrate our running is take her on a slightly different path where she got way more trail and river action. She had a very fun time jumping into the puddles and I think today was just the best day out, I'm so glad I got to start it off with Lucy :) Scoop: 1 pee, 1 poo. Runner: Sarah DISTANCE: 6.70 km DURATION: 1:01:43
Marley and I did the run out to the dog park and met up with lots of locals. We visited with a pair of Dalmatians, big Shepherd out chasing his ball and a very noisy Poodle who just seemed to think the park was all his to be. Great temperature that kept Marley cool and made for an enjoyable morning. Two poos and many pees. Runner: Bob ![]() DISTANCE: 6.82 km DURATION: 1:00:07 Zenna and I had a quick run around the river today because it was surprisingly not so hot. But after the weather we've had it was a welcome relief! I'll be sorry to say goodbye to the warmth but we made the most of it today. And so did a lot of other dogs! Zenna was so well-behaved with them and I was so glad to be out with my girl again. :) She was all about the water today, although we cut it a little short since I believe it has been a while since her last run. Scoop: 1 poo, several pees Runner: Sarah ![]() DISTANCE: 7.25 km DURATION: 1:00:00 Charlie and I had a great run today! He was excited to go and we enjoyed the amazing weather. Friday before a long weekend there were lots of people out today as well and other dogs to say "hi" to. A young Bernese Mountain Dog came bounding over to him but Charlie was not too impressed and backed away. Charlie is amazing and so gentle with other dogs but I think this large, young guy had a bit too much energy for him. So we waited for his owner to come and get him as he was off-leash and we were off for the rest of our run. Other than that we just enjoyed our hour and as you can see from the photos I get that look of "seriously lady you are taking my picture again?!" lol Charlie stopped about 5 or 6 times to pee and had one poo. Runner: Denise ![]() DISTANCE: 6.11 km. DURATION: 1:02:22 Oh lucky me! I will be spending some quality time with Dodge and Jersey today and tomorrow. How sweet is that? 😍 I came to Dodge and Jersey's yesterday to meet their human. I had to make sure to know about the pups' routine and feeding schedule. So far, according to Dodge, it looks like today I got everything nailed down. They even got to go for an hour little trot in the neighbourhood as well as in the park nearby. Jersey was very happy gal as it wasn’t too hot. She was playful and wanted to run. She even got to roll few times on the grass. Dodge, on the other hand, is very laid back. This guy is such a gorgeous gentleman.. I love that guy! I am sure he enjoyed the cooler weather as well. Dodge had a poo and 2 pees. Jersey had a poo and a pee. Pet Sitter and Runner: Fab ![]() DISTANCE: 5.99 km. DURATION: 1:10:29 Stormy was doing very well today! Second day out to the river and she is as strong a swimmer as the last time. The wiggly girl and I headed out early to hang out by the river again. We were surprised to see what looked to be moose poo so we were very careful of entering but it seemed as if we lucked out because nothing was there! The river was incredibly beautiful with mist rising up off of the water and I could not resist taking a few shots of our photogenic Stormy. After a long time by the river, we headed back with a brisk walk and arrived just as the sun was heating things up. Stanley and Stormy were both lovely as always! They're going to have to start misbehaving or else I'll be talking about how wonderful they are all the time! The Scoop: Stormy had several pees, 1 poo. Runner: Sarah ![]() DISTANCE: 9.23 km. DURATION: 1:30:36 Today Mona and Reilly made me appreciate the simple things in life😊. More often than not, we have a tendency to take way too much for granted and forget to enjoy life’s simple pleasures like the smiles on these two ladies faces when they see each other every week. Or their love for the water and then chasing each other bouncing in and out of the tall grass, followed by a quick roll (in who knows what!) 😆 Whether it's new trails or old ones, these ladies sure know how to make me smile. WOW that was deep for me wasn’t it?!?😂 Anyways, in a nutshell, the ladies and I had a great time today! Mona got to experience the coulee for the first time, not to sure what her thoughts were on that. I think she was okay because Reilly was right there beside her the whole entire way! They make such a great team👍🏿Thanks so much ladies for the giggles today! 3 poos for Reilly, 2 poos for Mona and plenty of pees for both. Cheers! Have a fantastic long weekend! Runner: Tracy ![]() ![]() DISTANCE: 7.61 km. DURATION: 1:00:55 A sunny day matched a sunny greeting from Gibbons and Toki. And while I was grateful for the kisses (thank you Gibbons), and a fun game of stolen shoes (thank you Toki), we needed a bit of coaxing out the door under the leadership of (gasp!) a stranger! And I'm completely ok with suspicion as I happen to be a fan of ladies who are strong willed, know exactly what they want, and don't cut corners. For example, we were absolutely turning left to head to the pond and wouldn't entertain alternate possibilities. So clearly it was my duty today to serve. Gibbons did a great job navigating a quick walk and stretch with her cast. Toki did an amazing job of leading me down the hill to show me where the kids were playing. But the only problem with racing down a hill, is that you eventually need to run back up. We had a great workout though. I was pleased when Toki slowly began to drop by my side near the end of our run. Thanks ladies for welcoming me into your day. The scoop: no poops, two pees each. Runner: Sheri ![]() DISTANCE: 5.14 km. DURTAION: 1:05:45 Juno and I had a double date with the handsome duo of Jasper and Indy. And while it was a double date, it was also a bit of a love square. Let me explain. While Jasper and Juno enjoy lying down in the shade together, Jasper also tries to give me 'hugs' when I'm crouched down. Indy likes to give Juno similar hugs, but is very gentlemanly about it, if that's possible. Indy will give ear kisses to anyone that is near, whether it's Juno, Jasper or me! And both Jasper and Juno love heading to Indy's house, whether it's at the beginning or at the end of our runs. Although for Jasper it could be his love of food, as he bee-lines straight for Indy's food container to see if the lid is closed tight. I was onto him though, as he pulled this trick last time. Mid-day over-snacking was prevented, other than the treat encouragement that happens during the walk for both Jasper and Indy. Thanks for the double date boys! The Scoop: lots of pees for both but only Indy pooped. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 10.31 km. DURATION: 1:05:51 I love being with Jessie because she gets me out and about in parks of Calgary that I have never seen before. This being our second day together she was so much more used to me and we kept a good pace with each other and understood each other better enabling us to go further within my time-frame. My favourite part of the run would be the beautiful flower garden we went through and Jessie’s was probably running through the sprinklers. The scoop: 2 pees 1 poo. Runner: Eve |
