![]() DISTANCE: 5.67 km DURATION: 1:10:10 I was so excited when I woke up this morning, because I had the Dynamic Duo for a power walk. Molson & Roxy are the 'Rockstars of Lakeview'. As soon as we got out the door both M & R went straight to my vehicle saying "Let's go for a drive, we don't need to walk." Ha ha good try you 2. Let's take it easy on this smoky hazy day and head to where the photosynthesis is the greatest. We headed into the grassy treed area and onto the Aspen Trail. Our thoughts were that the oxygen was better there. Well, something was working for Molson today as he was loving Roxy just way too much. 😉Okay, Molson, let's put you back on leash and give Roxy a break. Well, the brakes came out for Molson; he would just come to a dead stop and not move. If Roxy is off-leash then he has to be off-leash. Molson, you are so full of beans today. This duo is just so great, I hope to see you real soon and maybe we will go for that drive. The Doggy Business Report: Molson 1 poop & 5 pees and Miss Roxy just 3 pees. Runner: Michelle

Well what can I say but Silly Sully is soooo much still a puppy. Sully seemed to enjoy his time at our house and did his zoom zooms in & out around the garden with a quick fly into the doggy pool and a jump up to look in the window to check that I was still there. Yes, I see you😘. He had 2 play dates with Samantha which he was such a good boy for. He let her warm up to him - I think he knows when the females want to be boss. We did not make our mountain bike run - just way too hot and smoky. Instead Sully had a tracking lesson, which he did spectacular at. We went for about an hour and he found all his favourite toys and belongings whether they were behind something or up in a tree. Well done Sully, he did have to have a nap after that brain stimulation. One thing Sully did not like was when I left him this morning for a quick run with another dog. The evidence is in the photos. Oh my, you're not too keen on sharing your runner, hey Sully. Good thing you are so cute.

Hey there Sam! Long time no see! It was great to run this affable fellow again. And while I had every intention of just walking, Sam had other thoughts in mind. He is always so happy to get out for his DGR runs that there's no holding back for him. You can almost see the thought bubbles coming from his head... "C'mon, let's go, let's go, LET"S GO! Why are you going so slow? There are things to do, smells to smell, trails to explore!" So, given the air was a little clearer, I relented and we ran to the off-leash area in Silver Springs. I walked, and Sam (a.k.a. Tigger thanks to Lauren) bounced back and forth. We explored the single-tracks (my Apple watch didn't record a map for some reason today) and then walked on-leash through the neighbourhood. Sam drained a bucket of water, or at least tried to, so I know he got a lot of exercise today. Great run today Sam! It was truly a pleasure! Scoop: one poop and 4-5 pees. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 4.55 km DURATION: 1:06:42 Hey there Freckles! We (my friend Isabelle and I) caught this girl in the middle of a nap today as when we entered the house, Freckles was nowhere to be seen. After spending a minute calling out Freckles' name she came running up to us, barking, before softening up to us and accepting our treats and cuddles. Because of the air quality warning posted in Calgary, we just walked today, taking it nice and easy and making frequent stops. Freckles is not only sweet, but also a confident girl, as she led the way today, taking charge and deciding where we went. After a little photo op beside two dairy cow statues with the exact same coat as Freckles, we spent some time sitting on a bench and hanging out before making our way back home. It was so nice to finally meet you Freckles! 2 poos and 5 pees. Runner: Taylor ![]() DISTANCE: 7.10 km DURATION: 1:02:23 Howdy Mona! I love her enthusiasm when she greets you at the door, this gal always puts a smile on my face😊 Alright Mona, let's head to the park and play! I didn't think she'd take what I said so literal but I said it so there was no taking it back!😜 We skipped along the path not a worry in the world, my friend was sniffing and rolling to her heart's content. She was in and out of the water whenever it suited her. She also said hello to strangers along the way. Once in a while, she looked at me with a big grin, batting those eyelashes looking for a snack. Ya, I know what I'm here for. 😂 WQe made our way casually back to my ride. (I'm so hip.... NOT) Thanks for a phenomenal Thursday morning frolic Mona! Pleasure as always! 1 poo and several pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 5.57 km DURATION: 1:03:01 Hi Reilly! What a smiley girl you are today! Oh and thank you for the shoe but I've brought my own. It was hard to convince Reilly that we are only going to walk today given the air quality. We walked along the trail into the coulees. At which point Reilly was like a feather at the end of my leash. Multiple times I had to check that she was still there! She was happy to just trot along behind me. It definitely put a big smile on my face today! Thanks Reilly for the happy walk! Have a happy weekend!! Scoop: one poop and many pees. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 3.13 km DURATION: 49:31 I was not under investigation today when I came through the door! Probably because I smelled of bacon and eggs from breakfast and who could hate that smell! With the smoky conditions, I was going to play it by ear as to whether we would run or walk today. The minute the scent of smoke hit my nose I knew it was a walking day. A walking day for Gibbons and Toki is what I like to call a 'sniff fest', where we sniff A LOT of things. I do not mind at all though because we are able to discover new things such as this bird 'hotel' in someone's backyard, a new running path behind the pond and cool little plants! The smoke did cause us to cut the walk a bit short today but after a long week of running, I would say we worked our tails off!! The highlight of the walk was when both girls had been sniffing one spot for a while and I decided it was time to go. As soon as I said 'lets go girlies', both heads turned towards me at once. What a dynamic duo! The scoop: many pees for both G and T! Runner: Jaime ![]() DISTANCE: 4.02 km DURATION: 54:49 Marley, today was a smoke show out there. The sun was trying to come out but it was blocked by the hazy sky. I picked Marley up with a plan in mind to do the Lakeview loop stopping at Sandy Beach Dog Park. That didn't work out as Marley quickly decided he wanted to go home. There was a lot of action at his house, so I think maybe he was curious and didn't want to miss anything. Around half a kilometre in, Marley really, really, wanted to go home, so we headed in that direction, hoping to distract him. He saw his driveway and had a 3 min lay down. I eventually convinced him with some treats that we had to continue on. As soon as Marley was unattached from me, he seemed to have more energy to move forward. The leash went on and he laid down. Fun-loving dog that he is, you can't do anything but laugh! 1 poop, 5 pees and 24 breaks. See you next time Marley! Runner: Audra ![]() DISTANCE 3.57 km DURATION: 59:45 Finally, after what seems like a hundred years, I had the pleasure of taking Sir Kenny and his little Mini Me Sully for one of their runs. It was a hot and muggy afternoon but at least the air quality was improving slightly. Our action plan was to meander their neighbourhood and keep it light on everyone's lungs. Kenny still has so much puppy in him and knew exactly that I was there to take him for his walk. He was a little surprised when I entered the house with his little Bro Sully 😳.. I have had Sully at my house for a little while but that's for another blog. So sorry Kenny, your 'StayCation' and having the house to yourself & Kitty Cat is over. Kenny & Sully had a big hello, a few tussles and then we were off outside. It was the perfect neighbourhood stroll and the tongues started to hang out at the 35 minute mark so we voted that it was time to head home. Kenny actually voted twice because he wanted to get back soon. I hope I can fill in again with these two lovely Labs. The Dog Business Report: Kenny 1 poop and 2 pees and Sully had 2 poops and 3 pees. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.69 km DURATION: 1:00:08 Kayto! Buddy, it's been a while, I'm so happy to see you! 😊 I had a plan before I picked Kayto up, I knew the exact route we were going to take. And then we started running, and panting (Kayto) and sweating (me). Change of plans! Let's hit the river as many times as we possibly can... and so we did. A little fetch with the stick Kayto had brought from his front yard and some swimming. Kayto ignored everyone. Perhaps he was annoyed that the squirrel carcass we found wasn't fresh enough? No extra protein today Kayto! 😂 We were almost back and I popped by Tammy's house. She wasn't there (she never is😜) but we did say hi to Taylor and Juno!😁 It was good to see you again my friend! Until next time, keep on smiling Kayto, you're a treasure! 2 giant poos (seriously) and lots of pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.52 km DURATION: 56:18 Oh Ms. Lucy! Last week you were taking care of me when I was sick and now it is my turn to take care of you as you are not feeling well. Your mama tells me you lost a battle with a bird you consumed this weekend and now you have a sore tummy. That is no fun and we will do our best to distract you from your tummyache for the next hour. I was so proud of Lulu on our run today as we crossed paths with two other puppies and Lucy was very well-behaved and politely greeted both of them. If you look closely at the signs they just posted in the coulees it explains that they are using goat herds to control the growth of weeds populations! What a cool alternative to pesticides! We spent our whole run in the coulees today as I decided that everyone deserves a play day every so often. We chased each other, birds, splashed around, looked at different plants and really enjoyed our surroundings. We also took this slower run opportunity to practice a command Lulu and I have been working on; shaking off water after a dip in the river. It was the perfect mid-week run with this sunshine puppy on this Wednesday morning. Feel better sweet Lucy. Only one pee today. Runner: Jaime ![]() DISTANCE: 9.28 km DURATION: 105:54 Good morning Lincoln! It's another hazy day overlooking downtown Calgary. It wasn't too hot yet, but they say the heat is coming strong today so let's get to it. We took to a decent pace today, but I wasn't able to push for a PR since I over indulged yesterday and today I'm feeling a little slower for it. Lincoln had no shortage of energy today though. Many small #1's and 1x #2 today for business. After the sprinkler, a few passing cyclists, a few dogs out for a walk and all the excitement that comes with it, Lincoln was ready to lay about on some grass in the shade. Runner: Michael ![]() DISTANCE: 3.68 km DURATION: 1:00:13 Today was quite the day for Molson and Roxy as we took them out with my two little cousins Raleigh and Hugh and my friend Isabelle. The two Goldens were super excited to have so many friends come play with them. We went slowly, taking our time and just having fun. This worked out well as it was already getting warm and it was very smoky outside today. We went out as a little pack, stopping to play with Molson's ball and give lots of belly rubs to Roxy. We turned back as I had promised my cousins some ice cream. Molson had 3 pees and no poo. Roxy had a poo and 2 pees. Runner: Taylor ![]() DISTANCE: 8.66 km DURATION: 1:12:33 Happy Hump Day M&M! "Wednesday Mira" came out today 😁 . Ummm, probably because it's Wednesday? Haha I'm not really with it today! What I meant by that is by the middle of the week, my friend has a tendency to enjoy her surroundings a little more than Monday Mira👍🏿 Today I really enjoyed this quality of my friend's personality. It was just me and Mira today; no one else came out to play! We didn't run into anyone except when we got down into the coulee of course. Today I felt like all the squirrels were mocking us, I know that the crows were. They always sound like they're laughing when we run by.😳😂 Mira was sure looking up, down, and back in all directions. Even the leaves falling to the ground were a slight distraction. It was chaos, utter CHAOS! (no it wasn't). It just took us a while to get through the coulee today.🤗 After escaping nature and heading back to the other jungle (concrete jungle), we happily trotted on back home. Thanks for making my morning Mira! 1 poo and the usual way too many pees to count for Mira. 1 poo and 2 pees for Mulligan today. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 6.56 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes Hey Indy! Do you want to go on a field trip again with me? I swear sometimes these pups know exactly what we are saying. Indy trotted right to my truck and hopped up when I opened the door for him. And what a field trip it was! First, he was spoiled by Taylor and her gaggle of friends who were having a "Summer's Over, Slip n Slide Party". Then my nephews gave Indy some big snuggles. And then pretty much half our run was beside the river. We took our time today, given the temperatures and smoke. And yet, Indy didn't stop once! I guess when you give a pup lots of extra love it gives them faith and hope in what they can do! (I had to tie that picture in somehow!) In any case, even though we were pacing ourselves moderately, he went further than yesterday. Maybe even though the scorching sun was hiding behind a smoky veil, he was walking on sunshine. Anytime I get to run/walk with you is sunshine! The Scoop: 1 poop, several pees. Runner: Tammy |
