![]() DISTANCE: 14.21 km DURATION: 2:31:11* *run was only 7k but hunt for key was longer Where do I begin.... Fabulous morning for a run. Hello Kayto, I missed you last week. Kayto was out with an injury but seemed to be feeling fine today. So we headed out on our usual route down to the river for a dip. Kayto found himself some sticks he just couldn't leave behind (surprise, surprise😁) All is well and things are going smoothly. We climbed up the last hill in record time and OMG! I lost Kayto's key😩. There's a hole in my pocket. Help! I texted Tammy she scolded me (just kidding) 😂. So, Tammy, Taylor and their dog Juno were all kind enough to come meet me to see if we could find it. We retraced our steps back to the river, Kayto was pleased as he went for another swim. Juno was pleased as I think she likes Kayto 😜. We gave it a good try but the key is gone.... Thanks for the help ladies! Thanks for the adventure today Kayto! Go have a nap you deserve it. 3 poos and lots of pees. Runner: Tracy

![]() DISTANCE: 8.28 km DURATION: 1:09:12 Oh my, Miss L!! Lucy was very excited to see me - I think she may have been trying to distract me from the half shredded plastic bag at the door. As my Grams would have said " You little Scallywag". Little Scallywags and I hit the pathways with the goal to burn some of this extra energy that Lucy had. We found a lovely set of bike and running trails that suited us just perfectly. There was one part of the run that Lucy just had to turn and go back too. This happened twice, cautiously sniff and check even when we had past it. It was just a must do! I can't wait till next week to check out the other paths we saw. Have a great long weekend Miss L. The Doggy Business Report: 2 poos (1 large and 1 regular soft one) and only 1 pee. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 7.03 km DURATION: 55:36 Hi sweet Domina! Nice to see you again. It was already pretty warm today so we decided slow and steady was how it was going to be today. We hit the beautiful Confederation Park and I can't help but watch Domina run as she is just so graceful and gentle in her gait! We dipped into the water, which she loved and even I went in because I slipped on a rock, whoops! Kept my feet nice and cool for the rest of the run. Haha! We saw lots of kids out biking with camps and so many waved and said hello to us as we passed. I think they wanted to stop and pet her. Near the end, I think she was seeking shade so we took some breaks in the grass and rolled around; she always looks so happy and silly doing that! Five pees and no poops! Runner: Lauren ![]() DISTANCE: 10.62 km DURATION: 1:00:30 "A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can have that in your life, things won't be too bad." ~ Robert Wagner How true this is! And relevant in today's run! I haven't seen Mira in a few weeks and anticipated a bit of reluctance on her behalf. However, as soon as I saw her, the excitement was over the top! It was as though there was no time that had passed! Kisses and doggie hugs galore!! One of her little humans saw this interaction and giggled at us. Haha! We took that excitement on our run. In nearly every photo I took, she had such a happy look! We ran steady and strong today and had such an incredible adventure! Perspective is everything... Seeing things positively, is key. The scoop: Mira peed tons Mulligan peed and pooped. Runner: Chris ![]() DISTANCE: 8.18 km DURATION: 51:33 Harley greeted me with great enthusiasm this morning. A beautiful morning run and I felt like I was back home after four weeks on the road. Harley and I stopped at are regular watering holes, and we said hi to a few squirrels. A great start to our day! The scoop: 4 pees. Runner: Brian ![]() DISTANCE: 5.09 km DURATION: 1:00:06 I sound like a broken record but what an absolute joy it was to run with Molson and Roxy on yet another amazing day in Calgary. I think maybe I'm a little biased being born and raised here but that view along the reservoir makes me so appreciative of the city and surroundings we live in! These two fill my heart with a zest for life and a profound appreciation for the opportunity we have to run along such natural beauty! So naturally we stopped on numerous occasions to take it all in! I used a cool new photo editing app to add some fun detail to one of the many great photos I captured of these two pups! Doggy business: Several pees and one poop for Molson, One loooong pee for Roxy and no poop Runner: Alex ![]() DISTANCE: 9.53 km DURATION: 58:19 On our run today Lincoln and I were noticing different signs along the way. The first sign was from Mother Nature as some leaves are starting to turn colours. The second was of humanity. We always pass by one house that leaves a bucket of water at the end of the driveway. Well today the kind person was gardening so I was able to thank her and tell her how frequently Lincoln appreciates the drink. The third sign we saw was actually a small little plaque of an angel. This, of course, made me think of my mom. Finally we came across the friendship sign that Lauren saw on her run with Lincoln. I agree with Lauren... Lincoln is a great friend to have!! Doggy Business: one poop and many pees. Runner: Tammy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.89 km DURATION: 50:02* *Runkeeper stopped during the last km and a bit so we actually ran 10K in about 57 minutes. I finished a shift at AARCS this morning and went directly from walking dogs to running Talus who lives near the animal rescue. Talus has become one of my regular running companions and I am always so happy to see her big smile and waggly tail. My legs were feeling like lead from some spin and TRX classes so Talus was the motivator. I hate disappointing her so I rallied to keep up with her speedy and steady 5:30k/minute pace. Our route through Confluence Park included a photo op near a couch with graffiti on it, a quick stop in a huge puddle (Talus loved it!) and a sprint through a grassy area that had lots of grouse hiding in it. We also saw a hawk on the railroad tracks. It was a humid day so there was lots of panting from Talus and me. Thanks girl for keeping me moving! The scoop: 1 poop and 2 pees. Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 8.53 km DURATION: 1 hour 10minutes Hello Archimedes! You are very handsome 😊! I picked him up this morning not knowing there was a harness, treats and water..... It's okay his human stopped me before we got too far. Oops! I even think Archimedes gave me a "get it together" look 😂! We started near a dog park but there were too many distractions for my friend so I decided it was best to get out of there. We headed into the neighbourhood down Elbow where he insisted on saying hello to everybody. Why not? Everyone insisted on saying hello to him as soon as they saw "the tongue" Funny thing though we saw a deer and that's about the only thing Archimedes had no interest in....Weird. Thanks for the run today Archimedes! You're a fantastic pooch and it was great to finally meet you. 2 poops and many pees. Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 8.43 km DURATION: 1:08:38 I have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, Miss Kali proved that theory to be true. Her human gave me the heads up that she may have more energy today because she ate her breakfast. Watch out Leo here we come with some fuel to burn. Picked up Leo and as usual he was raring to go. We hit the pathway and our new favorite green hills. These two ran like they have been running for years together. They feed off each other and that makes for a smooth and such peaceful run. At one point Kali was rolling and sliding in the grass. Leo looked at her with his head cocked and a very quizzical look " What are you doing?". Then she did it again and slid right under Leo's chest. Leo looked at me "That's not running!". Leo, my dear I think she is trying to get your attention😉. The Doggy Business: Kali no pees and no poop. Leo 1 poop and 5 pees, Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 6.90 km DURATION: 53:51 Long time no see Miss Ria! She was raring to go when we left but soon wanted to stop for all the exciting smells. We had to have a couple of heart to hearts and negotiated some running into the mix as well! It was a wee bit challenging to begin with as I wasn't having a great morning but we soon got into our groove and all was okay! We just had to find each other again as it had been a while since we have run together. It was a nice jaunt and I knew that taking her for a long dip in the water would make her happy and in turn make me happy! Nothing else too eventful, three pees and two very mucousy poops. Looking forward to working on getting to know her better again on Thursday! Runner: Lauren DISTANCE: 4.73 km DURATION: 1:01:11
Interesting walk along the dog park as Molson and Roxy met up with our favourite friend in the park who brings treats for all the dogs she meets and they look out for her any time we go this way. She and her dogs had just met a lynx in Lakeview Village - one big cat. Good news was that her dogs were on leash. One poo each plus many pees. Runner: Bob ![]() DISTANCE: 2.70 km DURATION: 1:00:11 Slow goings this morning with Ruby. She didn't want to run as much as she wanted to put her foot down and stare me down, so we just sauntered around the neighbourhood. We spent the first 20 minutes looking for a garbage to throw out her poop, then continued on to walk around the pond and up a street or two. She's very timid, didn't say a word the whole time, just stared me down with her ears back, and jumped 10 feet when the uneven gravel path caused me to slip. A very reserved stroll around the neighbourhood in the warm sun. Only peed twice. Runner: Alex C. ![]() DISTANCE: 7.57 km DURATION: 1:10:32 Hello Abby & Reilly😘. How are you this mid Tuesday morning? I guess I chit-chatted with Jean too long because Abby laid down and thought a little siesta may be required. Reilly stuck to my leg and looks at the door. Reilly's thought bubble was "they gotta be done soon". Okay girlfriends, lets go! Today's route included a trail run with a steady incline for 3k and it got hot. Maybe I'm slipping into winter mode. I know shhhhh don't say the 'W' word. We all seemed to notice it today. And we met up with a young energetic small poodle off-leash named 'Roger' who just had to be part of the pack. He ran under Abby's belly several times and wanted to play. When Reilly had enough of Roger she just stood between my legs. Good girl Reilly - your response and reaction was perfect. Roger was finally caught by his owner and we were off to get the reward for conquering our uphill portion. I'm sure you can guess it - wheeee downhill and bonus a breeze. Doggy Business Report: Abby 1 & 1, Reilly 1 poop and 9 pees all in the firs Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 8.01 km DURATION: 1:01:42 On today's run with Jasper and Teddy, I began to reflect on change and new beginnings. Summer is about to wrap up and change is in the air with cooler temps, colourful leaves and other signs of new beginnings. For example, as I pulled into Jasper's neighbourhood I saw moving trucks for a home I have seen being built over the past year or so. There are also daily changes at River Park as they build a new irrigation system. On our run, we saw lots of Canadian images including a banner with the Canadian flag. We even passed the great Canadian singer K.D. Lang with her dog. I reflected on my move from the US to Canada almost 17 years ago so that was a big change and new beginning. My eldest son was only 1 and next week he goes to university. So amidst all these changes, I am grateful for some constants such as family, friends and dogs like Jasper and Teddy that love to run, play and swim. Thanks Jasper and Teddy for being such steady running partners! The scoop: no poop and 3 pees. Runner: Ruth |
