DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes What kind of dog runner shows up without a leash… this kind! Oops! I had to quickly run (okay I drove) back home to grab my leash so we started our run 5 minutes late. Kali was patiently waiting for me by the door when I arrived. Kali picked a beautifully manicured lawn for her first pit stop. The owner just happen to walk by at the same time and very nicely asked us not to stop there. We apologized. I generally try to encourage Kali away from nice lawns, and promised not to stop there again. And then we were off to the river. We both jumped in, Kali found a couple of sticks. One stick was really big and I suggested she leave it. I also found a piece of pottery. And then… we found a Frisbee! Best run ever!!! We played catch, as well as you can on leash, and splashed around in the water. Between the heat and our splashing, I may have tired Kali out. Maybe? She set a slower pace on the way home. We stopped for a big drink break and cooled down with the hose. The Scoop: 1 poop, 3 pees. Runner: Michelle W.

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes As we failed last time to find my girlfriend’s old house, this time I came prepared and knew exactly where to go. With Lucy’s guide skills, we were able to find it. This led us to our next adventure of running along the Panorama Hills' pathway that intertwined with the golf course. Lucy and I got a little worried as our time was ticking and we were still quite the way from home. It would take too long to go back, so we hoped for the best and kept going along the path. Towards the end, Lucy was parched and almost finished the remaining water, but was re-energized and raced home. The Scoop: 0 poops, 2 pees. Runner: Eli DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.1 km DURATION: 59 minutes It was very nice to meet Talus and Bobo today! The smoke was pretty bad (we couldn't even see COP from the top of the big hill - yuck!) so we adjusted speed and took some more breaks. The dogs were having a peeing contest to see who could make the most marks along our way, Haha. There was some giant dragonflies that followed us for a ways and a pretty cool hawk by the bridge that we took pictures of. Thanks for the run! The Scoop: both lots of pees, 0 poops. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 43 minutes It was ‘smooth sailing’ with the cousins. 🤣 Sailing reference was for Tracy and Ruth. Zayda, you are a sweet soul. I have not had the pleasure of your company for over 5 years. I am counting my blessings today for sure. Miss Reilly was her spunky self and rather interested in the treats I had. Reilly was full of zoomies today and was nearly walking on the water. Each leap seemed higher and higher. I let Zayda dip her paws and get her belly wet. Let's not make our next reunion that far apart. All of us girls are ready for the long weekend.🎉. The Doggy Business Report: pees galore for both girls. Reilly had 3 poops and Zayda had 1 poop. Runner: Michelle Hi Ennis, is your suitcase packed? Time to go on your Doggy Vacation. Aoife was waiting to see her friend jump in. This holiday was focused on seeing and hanging with friends. Runs with DGR Huxley, strolls with DGR Mikki and commiserating with DGR Marley B when it was time to be with his own age group. Naps in the sun with Aoife and testing out which doggy bed was suitable for ‘that time of the day’. Hide-n-Seek with Alcott the bunny, which was rather entertaining for the humans in the house. Alcott loves when Ennis runs away and hides on him. He searches and always finds Ennis. Ennis is comfortable with Alcott in the house, but take Alcott outside and Ennis whimpers and tries really hard to convince me that it is safer he stays inside. “Michelle! Alcott is my inside friend not outside.” Ennis, I am pretty sure you are going to spend this long weekend recouping and enjoying the quiet. Until next time my friend…….️
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 3.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Buck and I had an adventure of a run today! After exchanging hello's and some pats we headed out the door. Buck picked up on lots of different scents as we started. He even sniffed the door of my car where I store my treats! What a nose! After entering the trails, we sprinted around dodging roots and branches as we weaved our way down the paths. Buck and I said "hi" to a very cute dog on the path before continuing down the steep trails and steps. We made it down to the bottom and crossed the tracks before taking a nice little dip in the river. Buck definitely loves the water as much as I do. We stayed a little longer and then headed back up the trail to go home. Those hills are definitely nicer to you when you’re going downhill. Hearing the sound of the train pass by while we were in the woods was very cool and made it feel all the more like an adventure sprinting through a Canadian jungle. We had to stop a few times on the trail to let people pass on the narrow sections but Buck was very well behaved and sat patiently with me. The views today were great from the top despite the layer of haze thats been covering the city. After reaching the top, we kept going on into the neighbourhood before looping around and getting on the final stretch home. It was loads of fun sprinting around in the woods today with Buck and I am sure we’ll top it next time! The Scoop: 1 poop, 4 pees. Runner: Mason DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.4 km DURATION: H•A•P•P•I•N•E•S•S🐾 is seeing a good friend after a long time. The Blonde Boyzz are reunited and darn happy about it.🤣 These pups said “Howdy” to every single person at the park today. Of course, Huxley laid on the charm extra thick for the ladies. Sir Sully made sure he greeted all the dogs. These two are so social. It was pretty smoky and it got hot. The river was the best playground. Snacks and naps now.🤣The Doggy Business Report: Sully had 2 poops and Huxley had 1 poop. A billion pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Emmy was a champ on this morning’s run! She ran close behind me for most of our journey, and never really slowed down too much. We got a great warm up running uphill for the first 15 minutes and then just adventured around on the neighbourhood sidewalks. We were running against a nice warm breeze for most of the way out, which gave us some good resistance training. On the way home, the wind was on our backs as we cruised downhill. What a lovely Thursday. Great job today Emmy! The Scoop: 2 pees 0 poops. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes Reba was feeling spunky this morning and we took a nice route past the zoo. We stopped to watch some beekeepers (from a safe distance) and also stopped to watch the black bears for a bit (although the dogs were more interested in sniffing rather than seeing the bear). Reba took exception to one man who was carrying a big bucket (I'm thinking it was the bucket but she wanted nothing to do with them). It was a great morning, thanks Reba! The Scoop: 2 pee, 1 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.9km DURATION: 1 hour 23 minutes Hi Ya Girlfriend❤️🐾.Miss Reilly was happy to see me and I was happy to see her! Gosh, it has been some time that I have had a single dog run in Tuscany. This was truly girlfriend time. During the never-ending uphill on the first half of our run, we had an ‘interested party’. Whom or what might that be, you ask? A young coyote pup was rather intrigued with joining us. Both Reilly and I gave it the cold shoulder and it got the hint. Hey, this is girlfriend time!! Then on the breezy downhill home portion, we ran into DGR pups Mira & Nova out with DGR Runner Ryan. A quick chat, friendly greetings and we parted ways. Thank you, Sweet Reilly, you made my day extra special. I promise to see you soon.🐾 The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and many pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 4.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 7 minutes It was another perfect day for walking! We headed out on the pathway system. I ensured Leslie-Anne saw the pedestrian only sign and off we went. We checked out the downtown core from Memorial Drive today. I never tire of the view. We came across a mailbox patched up high. With a closer look (yay for a camera zoom), it let me know it was for all the mail no one likes to receive 🤣 We also came across two perfectly shaped Christmas trees. They would he fun to decorate! We also enjoyed the story behind the school fence artwork. The side streets are fun! Doggy Business: 1 poop, 3 pees. Written by Kahlua Runner: Leslie-Anne DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Nice to meet you, Mira and Nova! Nova was a little hesitant to get leashed up, but once we were running she warmed up to me pretty well. The two Huskies took the lead for the beginning of our journey. Mira and Nova showed me around all the cool trails and pathways in their neighbourhood, and we made it all the way on the other side of Stoney Trail. On the way home, the two dogs had slowed down quite a bit. Mira was running closer to my side and Nova was just slightly behind me. So, for the last five minutes we just cooled down with a nice walk. Great job today Mira and Nova! The Scoop: 4 pees, 0 poops (Mira). Nova had 0 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Lincoln was a super runner today and we had a great time. We looked for colourful backdrops to see what his best colour was (green, purple, or orange). I decided he's handsome enough to pull off any colour. Haha. For the last bit of the run, my eyes started to water (I think the smoke settled in a bit) so we slowed down. Lincoln didn't complain and he was pretty tired anyway (he had to lay down to drink, haha). He also found two spots for his happy grass-rolls and almost body slammed himself he was so excited. Thanks Lincoln! The Scoop: 2 pee, 2 poops. Runner: Jessica Mikki, you are in for a surprise today! Our pack walk to Nosehill included, Huxley, Ennis and Aoife. The whole gang was there. Those little legs did very well and were moving double time. Mikki found comfort in leaning against Huxley when we needed to wait for other dogs to pass. Overall, it was a very fun outing and a success for Mikki. Back home, Mikki was needing a few extra cuddles when he got excited. I am glad you came for a visit today. I know that Mikki will be happy & cuddling lots this week with all his humans home.
Pet Sitter: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes Reilly was eager to get going today and we started off at a full run right away. It was nice to not have it be so smoky out as well. I decided to reverse our route today to mix things up a little to keep Reilly guessing. It seemed to go over well and Reilly kept up a really great pace, I feel she was sufficiently pooped by the time we were done. Again this beauty attracts attention as another runner going by noted how pretty she is. All this praise might start going to Miss Reilly’s head 🐶❤️ The Scoop: Lots of little pee stops and 2 poops.
