DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 3.6 km DURATION: 59 minutes Due to a cut foot, the girls and I had to take things slow today. We wandered around the neighbourhood and enjoyed the gorgeous summer weather. Toki took the lead for most of today’s outing. Slowing things down allowed us to take in everything going on around us. From admiring butterflies swirling our heads, to watching bees move from flower to flower; nature was full of excitement today! On our final lap, Gibbs decided to roll in some fresh poop. She was THRILLED with herself after that and quite literally skipped home in excitement. Looks like it’s bath time for this silly girl! The Scoop: 7 pees for Gibbons and 3 pees for Toki, Runner: Jaime

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes There was high humidity this morning so although the temperatures weren't quite as warm, it felt like we were running in something thick. The wildlife was feeling extra sassy and wanted to play chicken as we were running by a particular squirrel. One hare scared the snot out of Lincoln and me when he darted away from us at the last second. Lincoln definitely wanted his happy-roll breaks today. Thanks Lincoln! The Scoop: 2 poops. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes Nell and I had a great run today and the weather was excellent out! These runs are all sort of starting to blend all in together and I can never remember which days are which when it comes to running. Running Nell keeps me busy and in shape during quarantine and I really appreciate being able to get out there with Nell! The Scoop; 1 pee, 1 poo. Runner: Alex DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 9.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes It was business as usual on our Friday round the pond and over to Montalban. Rossi was happy to be out running and did a great job sitting at all the road crossings, which was helpful since some cars didn't do a good job of stopping The off-leash park was very quiet so we mostly had the run of the place. Rossi enjoyed the freedom and was very happy sniffing around all the bushes then charging after me to catch up. On our way back to the pond, Rossi upped the pace, eager for a drink. He was slobbering a lot and since we were running downhill into a headwind his slobber was taking flight. I felt I was in the Matrix trying to avoid the flying slobber coming at me from all angles 🤣 Back at the pond, Rossi had a long drink was happy watching the ducks as he waded. A solid effort in today's heat. The Scoop: 7 pees, 2 poos. Runner: Allison DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes Kahlua and I walked all the way down to the East Village River walk where we found a fantastic little rocky beach by the water. Kahlua cooled off by wading dog-ankle deep and grabbing a few sips of the refreshing river. On the way home, we made a stop to look at the fountain by Eau Claire. Ducks and geese swam around in the waters beside it, while Lu and I sat down and watched. It sure was a beautiful day. Great job today girl! The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes Today, we would like to welcome a very special guest to the stage: Mr Marley's Mum! Marley's Mum joined us on our adventure today as we had a little concern over the past few weeks of some leg aches. Today, as we took this fella out, we had him at a walking pace, attempting a little bit of a jog, but with the heat the walk suited Marley just fine. I learned of the route Marley usually takes with his mum and dad and I will try that with him on our trek next week. Marley hunted for stray tennis balls and rested among the tallest leaves. He took water breaks when needed and fought off the mosquitoes like a boss with his hilarious stop, drop and rolls. When we neared home, it became breezier, cooler and less buggy. Perfect lounging weather. See you next Friday, buddy. The Scoop: 10 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Cheryl DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 6 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes Good morning Mr Conor! Are you ready for this long weekend? Looks like it will be a very hot one.. but hey, lucky you as your mommy is taking you to the ocean. You and big sisters will be able to go for a swim! Today, Conor was all about walking on our way out and no run at all. This is okay. I didn’t want this little boy to run every day. Right Conor? But then on the way back, Mr Conor said, “Come on Aunty Fab, you can handle 3 km of running. Right? Okay Conor, it you want to. Soon, I will not be able to keep up with that little boy. He has such long stride. I may need roller skates to follow him. As always, it was a little tug o' war time with Kopek to steal his stick. Conor, I hope you have a lot of fun going to the ocean. The Scoop - Conor had 2 poops and 2 pees. Runner: Fab DGR RUN OF THE DAY #8 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 10 minutes Marley & Huxley’s outing today was all about holiday prep. Pack snacks, travel in the vehicle and make sure you are mentally in holiday mode. We walked, tried out two new bug repellant (only Michelle🤪) and hit the swimming hot spots. We took our time with visiting new people and with old friends. Your two are 100% Holiday Certified. Have a great holiday you two. See you Huxley in two weeks. Miss M. is also off for a holiday. I will miss you two. The Doggy Business Report: Huxley had 1 poop and lots of pees. Marley had several pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 5.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes It was my third day in a row running with Gibbons and Toki and it couldn’t have gone better! Once again, both girls were excited to go out & explore and we had a fantastic time. Gibbons went for her customary 25 minutes or so and then Toki and I continued on. Toki was the real star of the show today - not only was her running excellent, she brought big smiles to a couple of girls we met while on our run! They LOVED Toki and thought she was so cute- which, of course, she is. If only Gibbons had been there at the time too so they could have had the experience of meeting both girls! Nonetheless, it was great to see Toki be a local celebrity for a couple of minutes. The Scoop: Gibbons had 4 pees, 1 poo. Toki had 3 pees. Runner: Dan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 17 minutes Hey Huxley, Ennis and Aoife, so you know what the ’hot topic’ of today's blogs will be? Pant pant, that's right....the heat🤩. Ennis is staying with us for the weekend. Nosehill seemed to be the best choice for our outing. Huxley, Aoife and I ran over to the park. Henry chauffeured Ennis. The temperature was rising. We walked our loops and Aoife had enough. She hitched a ride back home. The boys still had pep left. We had a steady power walk home. Now for a couple of bowls of H2O. The Doggy Business Report: Huxley had 2 poops and many pees. Ennis had 1 poop and multiple pees. Huxley ready to go swimming? Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 6.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 40 minutes It was another skin scorching/fat frying kind of a day today! And MUGGY woo wee! I tell ya, we Calgarians aren’t use to all this fantastic weather! Now that I’ve stated the obvious I’ll get on with my story. Today was a day like no other. Mona and Reilly decided that no matter how much I wanted to run it just wasn’t going to happen. So we headed out for a power walk (not really) instead. On our way, we met a cutie pie named Missy sporting her best summer dress and loving all the attention she was getting. Mona and Reilly didn’t understand why she had clothes on as they were ridiculously hot. So after that I persuaded my gal pals to trust me and we headed to the trails with ample amounts of water. A few passes back and forth and my friends were done. Thanks for coming out and keeping me company ladies! 2 poos for Reilly, none for Mona and several pees each. Cheers and enjoy the weekend! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 10.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes As we made our way to river stop number one, Ella and I coasted along the paths with a nice and steady warm-up pace. We were already warm from the sun that hovered over the city. The breeze was nonexistent today and it was slightly humid, but we were feeling good. Ella knew exactly where she wanted to stop for our first river break. We crossed over George C. King bridge and went down to a calm section of the river. There were quite a few people at Trout Beach on the little island, but the spot we found was nice and isolated. After passing through Princess Island and turning around, we picked up the pace a little to river stop number two which was closer to Inglewood. Since we ran faster on the way back, we had more time to spend by the water. I soaked my feet in the water which I thought would be colder, but it was perfect! Ella, has a drink and just stood in the river with a satisfied look on her face. We mixed some running and walking the rest of the way home. Great job today Ella!. The Scoop: no business to report. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 3K DURATION: 50 minutes It was felt cooler and a touch more humid than our last walk together as we began making our way towards the ridge. The clouds occasionally blocked out the sun, but as time flew by, it began to heat up some more. Jasper and I took some nice breaks in some shade on the ridge, then we made our way up to the tree canopy-covered paths by the hospital. Jasper went straight for the first bench we saw, and he eagerly waited for me to sit down so he could hop up next to me to catch his breath and get some scratches behind the ear. We were having a nice laid-back style walk, but I didn’t want to over do it so we kept it a little shorter today. Great job today Jasper! The Scoop: lots of pees. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 8K DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes Holy humidity today Miss Juno! As you know, Juno loves the shady sections and trails near her house. We frequent them so often that I got what is called the “Local Legend “ status on Strava. I think Juno is pretty legendary herself as she is such a wonderful running partner. She got pretty muddy so I took her to the river for a quick dip and she put her whole body in this time. I took a photo of some tree roots and then 20 minutes later my foot hit one and I went flying. Juno just gave me a smile and we continued like nothing happened. The Scoop; 1 poo, several pees. See you in a few weeks sweet Juno! Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 4.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes What a beautiful morning! Conor and I both enjoyed the pleasant weather this morning and had a great walk. He was checking over his shoulder for a lot of the walk but picked up pace on the way back. We met a lot of dogs and people this morning which he handled like a pro! I love his new haircut. The Scoop: 2 poops and 1 pee. Runner: Abbey |
