![]() DISTANCE: 5.23 km DURATION: 46:13 It looks like we missed the rain today Toks. Today I got to end my workday with a breezy run with Toki, while we normally kick the day off with a run instead. Although I love the energy from a morning run, it was nice to kick off the long weekend with a refreshing outing and a visit with my two favourite girls. Gibbons was dying to go out again today, but settled for a couple of treats and a nap instead. Toki and I ran in perfect harmony today. I was thinking back to the pup she was a year ago when we began running. She sure has come so far and grown into such an elegant runner. 1 poop and a couple pees for T (no business for G today). ![]() DISTANCE: 6.73 km DURATION: 1:07:29 Zenna was going a little slower today, which might have been the heat or her paw which is still on the mend. Regardless, we took it easy today, although it was still over 6 km. Way to go Zenna! We had plenty of water and shade breaks hence why more than half the pictures are of us in the shade. Zenna was her usual smiley self and even though we were more laid-back, she still took time to meet other dogs in the park and play a little. She was still on-leash just because I didn't want cause any stress to her paw, but very well behaved. Hope that paw continues to mend well, pretty girl! Scoop: several pees, 1 poop. Runner: Sarah ![]() DISTANCE: 7 km DURATION: 1 hour Kahlua and I were off to a slightly slower start today which was fine with me. She was asking to stop and sniff around more often than usual which eventually escalated to her rolling around in a little patch of grass! A couple kids were out for a walk and thought this was pretty funny. They gave her a pat on the head and asked me how old she was in dog years. It was too adorable. We completed a standard loop without our extra distance addition. It was perfect for our pace today. Kahlua was very well behaved around all the other dogs we passed which was a treat for me! She is improving so much! Thanks for being a lovely running partner, Kahlua! I will see you in a couple weeks! The scoop: 4 pees, 1 poo. I feel the same way, not much.😆 Mira and I wandered through the streets and paths of Tuscany until we came to a dead end. We were completely alone so I released her from her shackles. Woo Woo! Her smile was so big I thought her face might crack!😁 Mira partied for a little while but never ventured too far!👍🏿 After tha,t we made our way to the coulee where we ran into a pack of forest gnomes (kids). Mira was very popular amongst these creatures and this pretty much set the pace for the rest of our journey.😜 My friend and I trotted on back and scooped up Mulligan for another 1.75km. Well done Mully! Thanks for another delightful meander Mira! 1 poo and many pees for Mira; 1 poo and 2 pees for Mulligan; 1 deer sighting and 1 nature show watched (2 squirrels playing in the coulee) for Mira and Tracy.🤗 Cheers! Happy Canada Day to all! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7.92 km DURATION: 59:20 Today was an absolutely awesome run! Zeke was so eager to get going from the start. He took one stop around the 15 minute mark to lay down in the cool grass (see adorable pictures). The last 30 minutes of the run were perfectly uninterrupted and Zeke ran like a dream! The boardwalk is really grown over so it felt like running through a rain forest. Zeke got pretty excited through there so we picked up the pace in order to jump over the long grass hanging into the pathway. It was great! Thanks for the stellar run, Zeke! Rest up and I'll see you next week! The scoop: 1 pee, no poo. Runner: Alyssa ![]() DISTANCE: 9.10 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes It’s been a long time since I’ve taken the two Juno's out, and all three of us were pretty excited to be reunited. The two Juno's were so excited that it took me a couple of minutes at the beginning of our run to rein in their playing so we could get on running. It took a little while to convince Juno F. to get running as the sun was coming out, but after some treats and belly rubs, she was good to go. We went out at a slower pace this morning, but both Junos seemed fine with that and both just trotted along in front of me. We took lots of water breaks by the river this morning, letting the Juno's cool off and stay hydrated as the sun crept up. It was a nice and peaceful run this morning, but I have a feeling all three of us appreciated that. The Scoop: 2 poops, 4 pees for Juno F. Runner: Taylor ![]() DISTANCE: 3.63 km. DURATION: 1:02:05 Good morning Miss Byrdie! What a beautiful girl you are😍! Byrdie welcomed me with a big smile. Her soft ginger fur slid through my fingers with each pet. This morning it was just the two of us, taking a stroll through the neighbourhood. My pup Bowen has been a little stressed with the move to 'grandma's' house and wasn't feeling (or acting) well enough to partake in our walk. We didn't seem to mind! We started off with a casual stride and then Byrdie had an outburst of energy. We ran for probably 400m before a shade break was needed. I was very happy when Byrdie drank from my water bottle. I was beginning to think it was cursed! Byrdie (like all other dogs) had a busy nose today and kept scouting sticks and other berries or chewing objects along the sidewalks. Luckily, I was faster at removing them than she was at swallowing them. We stopped at the shaded trees to get some photos and continued our way back home. Thanks for showing me around your 'hood Byrdie! See you again. Scoop: 1 poop, 3 pees. Walker: Cayley ![]() DISTANCE: 8.50 km DURATION: 1:05:58 What a sweet time with my buddy Lincoln!! Good news ! Lincoln has a new harness and it's wonderful! It fits him great and I find less rubbing on his skin when he pulls!! We had a great time today running, enjoying wet grass and flowers. He found this one spot with tall grass and pretty blue flowers, When he was laying in it, I couldn't even see him, besides the cute face covered with flowers all around!! So cute!!! It was wonderful weather as it was not too hot! We did a detour today to avoid some other dogs and discovered some new areas to run! We had plenty of hydration and enjoyed some yummy treats!!! It is safe to say, we started the long weekend with great energy!! When I was leaving, he was by the door ready to go again! Linc you almost convinced me. If I didn't have to go grocery shopping ,I'd take you out again!!😉😂 I can't wait 'til next week! 1 poop and 3 pees today. Runner: Oxana ![]() DISTANCE: 6.81 km DURATION: 1:02:24 It was another lovely start to our weekend with Mr. Marley. This morning we found a peaceful park after a drenching summer rain last night. That kept Marley's toes wet, and a persistent dew on his nose as he tried to smell absolutely everything that was new. There were only a few people to greet this morning, and for the most part we only heard the sound of our breath and our feet on pavement. Marley paused only twice to cool off in the shade before he received a treat to coax him back into movement. It was a perfect Friday run to kick off our holiday weekend. Thanks Marley. Happy Canada Day to you and your family. The scoop: 2 poops, 7 pees. Runner: Sheri ![]() DISTANCE: 9.58 km DURATION: 1:10:00 Kali and my Reunion Run was fantastic and the perfect way to start the Canada Day Long Weekend. My little friend had about 4 stop breaks in the beginning. She would just lay down and roll over and want her belly rubbed. Oh Kali, you're so cute. It took until about the halfway mark when all of a sudden Kali was remembering all the fun we used to have on our runs. Boom, this girl was focused and all up for this running stuff. We may have started out a little soft. Maybe that's why the first 1.25 km from our run to and through the green space was missing. We finished solid and strong. Kali, I have missed you and your gentle way. Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦 sweet girl. The Doggy Business Report: 1 pee. Runner: Michelle ![]() DISTANCE: 9.07 km DURATION: 1:03:33 Happy Friday Nell!! Today, luck was on our side! We missed the rain, Nell’s paw was feeling great and I even found the fob to my car that I dropped weeks ago!! I couldn't believe that we accidentally ran over it, what are the chances?! Along with this luck, our run was great fun! I missed my girl, and it was so nice to be back on the paths with her. I'll see you, Sunday Nell!! No scoop today. Runner: Paige ![]() DISTANCE: 3.02 km DURATION: 55:13 Hi girls! So good to see you🤗! I had the warmest greeting from Kacie and Pink. They're always so happy to see me! The girls sniffed about as we made our way to the final destination. An older woman commented on Pink's hairdo. This little lady gets A LOT of attention. Kacie is always grateful for her "good girl" comments and an ear scratch as we walk about. The park was fairly empty; just how we like it! Nothing exciting happened other than a quick game of stick and chase. Kacie, Pink, and I made our way back home. They both went right to the dog beds once their necklaces were taken off. Time to rest! Thanks for a morning full of giggles girls, see you soon!💕 Walker: Cayley ![]() DISTANCE: 12.88 km DURATION: 1:33:33 Oh boy, today was a hard one. My last day (formally) running with DGR, but I got to spend it with my favourite duo. When I arrived I found a card waiting for me signed by Toki and Gibs themselves, and I immediately teared up. Toki was in denial about the whole thing... she decided to play a game of keep away that we hadn’t done since I first met her. I think she was thinking “if she can never catch me then she can never leave”. Clever girl, but finally she gave up, we said goodbye to Gibs, and off we went. We ran by all our favourite spots. We stopped many times to have some cuddles and get some water. People chatted with us saying how often they see us running. It wasn’t a fast run but it was still far. When we got back, the three of us cuddled on the floor for a while. I said my last goodbyes and they ran up to the window to wish me off. I just want to say how lucky I am to have met these girls. We have been on so many adventures and have been breaking time, distance and elevation records all throughout the fall, winter and spring!! I may not be living in Calgary but I will be back lots to visit and hope to be able to see these girls again. Hopefully by then Gibs will be all rested up and the three amigos can go off into the hills once again 😊. Runner: Tara ![]() DISTANCE: 8.26 km DURATION: 1:03:35 Good afternoon, Mr. Leo. I have to say that I was looking forward to escaping my house full of newly graduated CBE students vibrating with pent-up energy from their school year. And not entirely unlike my kids, Leo and I headed out today taking a symbolic run through an entire school year. We ran one step, one breath, one discarded pizza crust at a time, and when Leo decides to take a pit stop we find ourselves in an entirely different place thinking about how far we've come. Leo and I had tests today; holding his focus while we ran past bunnies, squirrels and birds. Leo did flop down in the grass once; clearly that was recess. But maybe Leo is now out for summer vacation too as he had absolutely no problem zipping into his kennel for a nap, with an well earned treat. The scoop: 1 poop, far too many markings to count. Runner: Sheri ![]() DISTANCE: 6.22 km DURATION: 50:15 Hi Gogs! You are looking Golden as ever today!! Let’s get out there for a run before it starts raining on us. I couldn’t believe how quickly Gogol was moving today! He was clearly feeling better and eager to get back in running form. He paused to pose with a flower bed and thought the blog viewers would love the bright colours. What a ‘Summery’ run today was, hey buddy? It began to cool off and even drizzle as we reached home. Gogol didn’t even hesitate for the front door when we arrived. No cool-down laps today, Gogs is pooped! The scoop: 4 pees and 2 poops. Runner: Jaime |
