![]() DISTANCE: 9.35 km DURATION: 53:00 Happy Friday Sam! I recently celebrated a birthday, and I might be showing my age, but on today's run you reminded me of one of my favourite Saturday morning cartoons from my childhood; Inspector Gadget! Your nose was to the ground from the second we left the house today; putting your Go-Go-Gadget nose to good use! You inspected branches, flowers and tree trunks. Our run today had some hill climbs, and that's where you used your Go-Go-Gadget legs. You had to inspect that bicycle that was in front of us... or maybe you were looking to get a draft! Finally, it was a hot one today, and your Go-Go-Gadget tongue was out early on, so when that Go-Go-Gadget vision spotted the most wonderful sprinkler/hedge combination, you went straight for it! I had a good, deep belly laugh watching you roll around. Onward home for a wipe down, and according to your human, a shower. Happy Canada Day tomorrow Inspector Sam, thanks for the run and the laughs! Dog business: many pees. Runner: Kathy

![]() DISTANCE: 5.32 km DURATION: 59:29 Happy Friday Zenna! It looks like it's just us 2 today! With it being 27 degrees out I suspect we will see a lot of people out and about today. Your dad tells me you went for a long walk this morning so we better take it easy! We headed for the ridge over the river after a short stroll through the neighbourhood. We took a few breaks in the shade to cool down and boy did we need it! I think today's highlight for you was the attempt at chasing after a squirrel AND a rabbit. It was a great hour spent just the two of us girls Zenna! I look forward to our next encounter. The scoop: 1 poop, 5 pees or so Runner: Jaime ![]() DISTANCE: 8.35 km DURATION: 1:04:08 Hey sweet boy! Lincoln was super excited and ever energetic this morning when I arrived, running around and jumping up in anticipation for our run. We went out quickly down into Wildwood, not stopping until we ran by my friend Aimee's house where her family was packing their car to leave town. After an introduction, Lincoln was happy to show Aimee some of his favourite tricks and was even more happy to accept some belly rubs from her and her family. We then went on our way down towards the river. The trails were busy so we spent a lot of time navigating through an endless stream of cyclists, runners and families, practicing restraint with Lincoln who can get pretty excited when someone gets close. We spent the rest of the time going slowly and taking lots of breaks as the sun was starting to bear down on us. Thanks for the fun run Lincoln! 1 poo and too many pees to count. Runner: Taylor ![]() DISTANCE: 5.81 km DURATION: 1:00:20 Sometimes I wonder what I sound like when I'm out on a run. Marley you know that I'm always talking, and providing a running commentary of our time together. "Whoah, this is the spot you need to sniff, eh?" "Ok ok ok ok, let's get moving just a little more till we reach the shady trees." "Yes I love our zen spot too. Hear that duck??" "Come on over, come on over. Let's share the path!" "Yes I think it might be time to cool off in this grass too." "Good boy! Nice work, bud." These are just a few of the things that I spouted off on our run today. And to a casual passerby, I wonder if they think we're odd, or that in my position they would attempt to talk your ear off too. Either way, I'm grateful for the small dose of levity to start the weekend. And by the way, our little runs have begun to really add up! My trusty Garmin has let me know that I reached 1000 miles this year on our run today. It's like I've run to Kenora ON. Thanks Marley for pushing me over the top, and for tolerating my running babble. Have a great Canada Day weekend, Marley! Scoop today: two poops and 7 pees. Winger & I Love Canada!!! To celebrate Canada's birthday, Winger sported a scarf with maple leafs on it today and looked so adorable as you can imagine. (I tried to get a frontwards photo but could only manage to snap one from the back). This inspired me during our run to think about how lucky we are to live here and to really appreciate it. How lucky are we to be outside running (not acceptable in some countries for women!) without having to fear for our safety and well-being? I felt truly "free" this morning and so grateful to get out with my bud, Wing. We saw lots of people out and about catching the LRT, headed for work or out for walks with loved ones....whatever they wish since our country provides such opportunity! The Fish Creek scenery was beautiful as always and we could see the mountains too. Is there a better way to start a Friday morning of a long weekend, where we celebrate our amazing country? Winger & I wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Besides, a Canadian hockey team might want to draft him one day since he's a Winger and all.....a very speedy one! See you next time boy! The scoop - no business today. Runner: Krista ![]() DISTANCE: 9.15 km DURATION: 1:24:47 It's Friday! Mira and I took casual Fridays to a whole new level this morning. 😬 We started out running and then I'm not quite sure what happened but my friend just started walking. I think she was HOT! All good Mira we worked hard this week. We headed down into the coulee in hopes for some shade and water. The creek was dried up and I could tell Mira was getting a little concerned. No worries Mira I'm sure there's a puddle somewhere... yay! We finally found some delicious stagnant water.😂 Mira and I casually made our way out of the coulee and picked up the pace slightly on the way home, where Mulligan was waiting patiently for our return. Actually he was napping in front of the door. I had a hard time opening it.😁 Thanks for keeping it real Mira! 1 poo and many pees for Mira; 1 poo and 2 pees for Mulligan. Happy Canada Day everybody! Runner: Tracy ![]() DISTANCE: 7 km DURATION: 1 hour We are really going to changes things up today Indy! My day was a bit over scheduled (what's new) so instead of Teddy joining us for your run, I brought my youngest son Eli. Indy seemed to like this idea and I think this was the fastest I have seen him run with only 1 stop for a quick dunk in the river. It was a humid day with a few fat raindrops falling from the sky and then some spots of big blue sky and sun. Today, one of my dearest friends is moving to BC so I was glad to have a happy dog like Indy to cheer me up as well as my 13 year old son Eli. Nothing like a boy and a dog enjoying each other's company to make one smile. Eli even thanked me for the run so I think we may have another future DGR runner. The scoop: no poops and 4-5 pees. Runner: Ruth ![]() DISTANCE: 5.50 km DURATION: 55:56 Another great day in the books for Kai and I! We got off to an early start which was great, the chilly cloud covered morning was in our favour! However, I decided to take a shorter route today and hunker down to the basics, reestablish who's boss and work in close collaboration on his commands. I think this is exactly what we needed, with multiple breaks to stop and get Kai to run through his various Sits, Touch, Lay Down, Watch sequences helped keep him engaged for the duration of our run today! I figured with me being gone; we may fall out of our routine. No biggie! We will start back up gradually and get back to where we were at the beginning of June in no time! He did great today; I love his company! You're such a good boy, Kai! See you next week! The scoop: 2 poops, 9 pees. Runner: Paige ![]() DISTANCE: 2.29 km DURATION: 1:00:04 Big day today! Remington made his DGR debut, and the girls loved it! The three of them were instant friends. Upon our arrival, the newly established pack hit the trails to explore the ever so exciting, River Park! Remington had a bit of a rough go yesterday; he scratched his cornea while wiping his face on the grass. :( He has to be closely monitored for the next few days. This is why he was lucky enough to join the girls and me at the park today! And the reason for the fancy new cone, he surprisingly loves it, it goes great with his cute little head tilt! Anyways, the three musketeers tore through the trees sniffing and peeing on everything in site. The weather was a very comfortable temperature allowing for little breaks in the shade. Kacie seems to be a hit with all the dogs, especially Remington. He gazed up at her the entire ride to and from the park; I think he may be in love! Pink and Kacie were such great friends to Remington; I think he may have to tag along again! Thanks for being so kind to my old man, you two are the best! The scoop: 1 poop for all, and too many pees to count! Runner; Paige ![]() DISTANCE: 8.02 km DURATION: 54:34 Hello again Maverick! We got on a great pace today and stayed on it pretty much the whole time. Down the river and back, up the hill, around the hospital and a little more grass time by the river again. It was a cool but not cold morning today, mid teens again today with a little wind. We beat the rain today. A little sprinkling in our last 200 meters, but after we got inside it was pouring out! We had a little business today. 4x #1's and 1x #2. Lots of people out on the pathways, not very many dogs however. See you next time Maverick! Runner: Michael ![]() DISTANCE: 9 km DURATION: 1:20 Actual time and distance about 9km and 1:20 if you include our 15 minute water playtime...phone died and your human thought I kidnapped you (haha jk). Happy 150th my fave furry friend! Your mom got a special doggie treat today that we took with you for a post water snack. We have a lot to celebrate today. First of all I wanted to tell you that I was in a 10 week challenge at my gym and I was the top female! I'm telling you because you have been my strongest advocate and motivator - thanks for being the best cardio buddy a girl could ask for. We also can celebrate living in this amazing country. Last but not least I am thankful to have you in my life, because you're just the best! I tried to take a photo of us looking strong and fierce and your way of celebrating was to roll in the grass, that's fine, I get it, we all party differently! Hot run but we had a long play in the water, said hello to everyone we passed and bounced around like hooligans in the tall grass. Have a great weekend Sam! Just pees today! Runner: Lauren ![]() DISTANCE: 7.49 KM DURATION: 58:06 Hi Mona! OMG it's been too long! I've missed you so much! But it looks like you've had some fun runs with Tracy. Today we tried to pack in as much as we could in our hour together. Here's our list that we were able to check off: 1) Dog park off-leash time 2) Play in river. Added bonus, a play with a bigger, male version of myself named Trix (sp?) 3) Trail run up Douglas Fir Trail 4) More water play in a man-made pond beside a pretty garden and waterfall 5) Of course all the running and sniffing in between. Thanks Mona for a fun-filled hour. I so enjoyed running with you today! Scoop: just a few pees. Runner: Tammy DISTANCE: 7.56 km DURATION: 1:13:23
KAISER! Oh, how I've missed my buddy! It feels like it's been forever since we've last run together. We can't waste any more time. Let's go! Off we went, chit-chatting, catching up on the last few weeks apart, I have been anticipating this day since I got home. Running on my vacation just wasn't nearly as fun as running with Kaiser. We did our usual loop, making sure we took much needed breaks along the river. We went a little over our allotted time this morning because towards the end of our loop the sun decided to beat down on us and boy, was it warm! An earlier start for us in the future, and we will be golden for the entire duration of our run! Therefore, today we ran for the majority of the loop, however, slowed things down at the end, stopping to hang out in the shade whenever we saw an inviting spot on the grass. I didn't mind the extra few minutes with him; it has been long overdue! Already excited for tomorrow, see you in the morning, Kai! The scoop: 8 pees, no poops. Runner: Paige ![]() DISTANCE: 4.70 km DURATION: 36:20 Lincoln had lots and lots of energy this morning! He started off running very fast but we eventually settled into a more comfortable pace. Maybe he's getting excited for Canada's 150 on Saturday, I know I am! We passed a few Canada 150 signs on our run, it's coming up quickly. Even though Lincoln had more energy than usual at the start of our run, he seemed to be at least a little tired by the end. The pictures show Lincoln resting and cooling off in the grass at the end of our run. Lincoln had one poo and 6-7 pees. Runner: Hayley ![]() DISTANCE: 9.12 km DURATION: 1:03:52 Hello M&M ! Mira and I had ourselves another fantastic run.😊 She was very eager to get going and started dragging me right off the get go! I think someone put some caffeine in her kibble and I clearly didn't have enough this morning😬 . All good, as soon as we hit the path her nose got the best of her and we slowed down. Mira and I had a nice easy run after that. There wasn't much going on out there today. We did however come across a pack of free rangers and my friend was very cordial. Well done Mira! Besides that, on our way back we had to fight the wind; that's always a good time (not) Thanks for yet another excellent adventure Mira! Several pees, no poo for Mira; 1 poo and 2 pees for Mulligan. See you kids on Friday! Runner: Tracy |
