DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 9 minutes Today kept getting warmer and warmer. It was definitely tank top weather! Winter and I circled the pond, schools and the lake and we got to enjoy a birthday sign and beautiful green grass and flowers! Kona was patiently waiting for her turn when we returned. Kona loves her scratches and cuddles so much that she is constantly rubbing her harness off all the time. Kona and I circled the neighbourhood and took in the school and pond path as well. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop for Winter. Kona had no business to report. Runner: Brenda

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.7 km DURATION: 1 hour I am glad we went early today as it was already heating up and pretty warm for Rossi. What a beautiful day out. We went around the university and it was really quiet during our run. Rossi had his moments as usual but I did my best coaxing him along. I got some pretty good pics today so enjoy those. It was a picture perfect day! The Scoop: 1 poop, lots of pees. Runner: Mark DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 20 minutes Wowza! That was a heat attack. Reba and Aoife were two ‘hotdogs’. No reference to their size whatsoever🤣 These gals hit the streets with gusto. No holds barred, then......plop. They both laid down in the grass. Laid down to rest, no rolling or playing. It was time to rest and get their tongues off the ground. This happened 3 times before the half-way point. This was a clear message, we were going to jog home. The Doggy Business Report: 2 pees and 1 poop. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6 km DURATION: 1 hour Kahlua and my adventures together began today! Ruth joined me and introduced me to this sweet Black Lab. We headed out towards the river! It was quite hot today and much like Kahlua I was dripping drool as we went. Later along the river, I tried to convince Kahlua to dip in with me but she was hesitant, I’m sure she’ll join me once it gets even hotter! On the way back, Kahlua, Ruth and I got a quick interview by CTV about the hot weather which was certainly unexpected. Kahlua was a star! Looking forward to many more runs with my new friend Kahlua in the future! The Scoop: 1 poop, 2 pees. Runners: Ruth and Mason DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.4 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream ️ I had a wonderful morning run with Kali this morning. It was such a great way to start the day! It warmed up quite a bit while we were running and she was content to jog beside me. We stuck to the shady side of the street and stopped for a couple of water breaks. She is a beautiful girl and listened really well! The Scoop: 1 poop, 3 pees. Runner: Michelle W. Every time I get to spend time with these 2 amazing dogs I feel lucky! Today, I arrived to two loving and welcoming dogs. I think I got at least 5-7 kisses from Dodge and Jersey gave hugs and howls. We immediately went outside in the backyard and played with the rubber disk and rope toy. These two were full of energy and enthusiasm so I decided to hit the road with them and do some off-leash. I can honestly say I have never seen a dog with as big a smile as Jersey today. She was off the charts with chasing her toy and sticks! Mr. Dodge was all about exploring and smelling. He was loving all the freedom to explore. On the way home, we stopped for a quick Puppichino treat from Starbucks. The remainder of the afternoon was spent between the backyard and the couch and both dogs had a nap. Dinner was served at 6 p.m. and then we walked the neighbourhood; keeping watch on the approaching nasty, threatening rain clouds. A wonderful time and great pics!
Pet Sitter: Brenda DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour Reba and I had the zooooomies this morning! We did our new secret route along the river and then through Bridgeland but at max speed! With 20 minutes to spare, we ran the stairs a few more times and took some cute pics with the flowers. Whew! I hope you're pooped Reba cause I sure am. The Scoop: just pees. Runner: Tara DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute Marley was fresh as a daisy (or daffodil) this morning! With a moderate temperature available to us, his energy levels remained high throughout the entire "wog" (walk/jog). Marley and I have become creatures of habit and enjoy a similar route every Friday. Here, we admire the beauty of close-by neighbourhoods and the scenic views of the Glenmore Reservoir. Why change a good thing? We also thoroughly enjoyed the blooming flowers that were planted along many green spaces - the perks of spring walks! The Scoop: 1 poop, multiple pees. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.2 km DURATION: 1 hour 11 minutes Good morning Mr. Conor. It was another beautiful day in the neighbourhood. The boy went second to his Princess Sister 👑 once more! It looks like Conor has resigned himself to it.. Lol! We trotted the upper trails on the way out and came back on the lower trail. The reservoir looked beautiful and calm today. We got to see many pooches out for a walk on the pathway. Conor was very intrigued with a group of geese on the way out. We had to stop and watch for few minutes. My dog Kop teased Conor with his stick as usual. Poor Conor! It looks like he can’t win... not with little Princess or big brother Kop.. Haha! Conor, I hope you and the family have a great weekend 😃👏🐕 The Scoop: Conor had 1 poop and 2 pees. Runner: Fab DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.6 km DURATION: 1 hour 55 minutes It’s officially summer according to Mona and Reilly! These two pudding pops were on vacation today. I have no doubt in my mind that my two gal pals would have rather gone to the beach and had a picnic. This became clear to me early on in our adventure when my new title was changed to Turtle Herder. Other than sniffing and snacks, Mona and Reilly couldn’t understand why on earth we had to walk (not run… because that wasn’t happening) to the stomping grounds. Once we were there. it was hard to get them out of the water. TOO CUTE! When I finally did round up the troops, they hesitantly meandered on back to the abode. Thanks for putting up with me today my friends! You always make me smile. 2 poops for Reilly; 1 poo for Mona and several pees each. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes I’m loving how green everything is now. No more bare branches and brown grass. Thank goodness. Jasper was heating up in the morning sun, so we took a few breaks in some shade. He was really enjoying his workout today, as he lead the way and got up eagerly after our shade breaks. Great job today Jasper! The Scoop: 3 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 16 minutes What a fantastic day for an outing with Gibbons and Toki! It was a perfect spring morning & the girls were so happy to get to enjoy a warm and sunny day. Gibbons in particular was ultra excited- she couldn’t stop wagging her tail and jumping up and down in anticipation while getting ready to go out! Once we got outside Gibbons sprang ahead and led the charge, but she was quickly joined by Toki, who matched her energy level in no time. It was quite warm, so we made sure to spend some time in the shade every so often so we didn’t get too hot. This is the time of year where the girls’ short coats pay off! We saw lots of dogs with thicker coats panting in the heat, but Gibbons and Toki were able to keep nice and cool- something that’s going to be really important in the coming months! The Scoop: 4 pees apiece for both Gibbons and Toki. No poops today. Runner: Dan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 4.6 km DURATION: 49 minutes Hey Soul Sister. I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight... (this was the tune running in my head). Well, this afternoon I got to meet Aoife's sister Patti who is our newest DGR athlete. DGR Runner/Aoife's mom Michelle joined me as we took these sisters through some back trails in Wildwood. I must say when you have 2 Irish Wolfhounds side by side, it it somewhat of a spectacle and we received a sweet comment from a lady in the neighbourhood. I also saw a gentleman who was gardening take a glance our way. It took a minute or two for Patti to build her confidence and get into her running stride. She also was not a fan of a loud truck passing by. Her sister Aoife gave her some encouragement and then the two gals were in their running groove. It was an impressive first run on this warm day. The Scoop: 1 poop and 3 pees. Runners: Ruth and Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.9 km DURATION: 1 hour 1 minute I think that it is safe to say that summer has a officially arrived, right!?! I mean Calgary could throw anything at us, but today sure is a beautiful day!! It was the first time I have felt summer so far! On our run today, Buck and I started out through the trails, and the smell of flowers and trees and things blooming surrounded us. At 9 a.m., it felt hot! What is not to love about being out in the sunshine with smells that remind you of the coast, and beautiful colourful flowers lining the Douglas Fir trails. I put on shorts and sunscreen today, and I think it is important to remember and visualize the snow that came down exactly a week ago... what a change! We made a couple of stops at the river for a cool-down and drink of water. I could tell Buck wanted to go right in, but I told him to save that for another venture. I can’t wait for all of the summer running days ahead with you Buck! The Scoop: 3 pees, 0 poops. Runner: Kathleen DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.5 km DURATION: 59 minutes I'll never grow tired of the smell of the water in the morning. It's a nice refreshing experience away from the city. It almost makes me feel like we're on the coast. Leia was full of energy this morning, bounding through the grass. We stumbled across a tiny little chickadee on the side of the path, and we both stopped for a moment to watch it fly away. They're so cute! The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner; Eve |
