DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.4 km DURATION: 1 hour There were tons of bikers and runners out today, which meant that Conor got loads of compliments! We passed several people who commented on how cute and pretty he is (which is true, he's very pretty 😁). We also saw this nice rock out by the hospital that someone had painted, along with some others with similar messages. I thought it was a very nice picture and I'm glad someone went to the effort to set them up! By the time we got back, the heat had really begun to set in, so hopefully Conor can find a nice shady spot to relax in and cool down. The Scoop: 1 poo only. Runner: Eve

DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 7.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 4 minutes Wow, wow, wow! It was a fabulous morning jog with Marley! No matter the pace we go, I always enjoy spending time with this smiley guy. We’ve become accustomed to our regular route; can’t beat those views! When we stopped for a cool-down by the beach, Marley figured it was better to full on lay in the water instead of just dipping his paws in. Marley might need a bath this weekend. Nevertheless, we both enjoyed getting out for some exercise this morning! The Scoop: 1 poo, multiple pees. Runner: Lucia DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 9.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes I swear to you someone out there watches for when Rossi and I are running and hits the button for all the wind! Oh man, she was strong today. It took my hat off once and had Rossi’s ears pinned back as well. We hid across the river in the trees and that helped some. Wonderful temps though. It was getting pretty warm for the big man. Water stops were a must. Are you tired yet of all the Rossi drinking pics!? I’ll try and up my photo game. Have a great weekend! The Scoop: 1 poop, lots of pees. Runner: Mark DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 2.4 km DURATION: 39 minutes Another sunny walk this morning with Buck! I was greeted with all kinds of “shark bites” from Buck, which is his way of telling you he likes you. He was full energy today, and his broken toe recovery is doing great! He was actually leading the way most of the run. I think it is so funny and cute when Buck scratches his back with the tree branches, so I made sure to capture a photo of it. We are thinking Buck might be ready for a little bit of running next week! Looking forward to it! Runner: Kathleen DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: DURATION: 1 hour 30 minutes Hip Hip Hurray it is another day with the Water Boyzz. I picked up Huxley first and then onto Silly Sully, who let himself out of the house when he knew I had arrived. Needless to say, everyone was happy to get together. We hit River Park and these two socialites greeted the hundreds of fans. Then over to Sully’s old stomping grounds. Sully always takes the lead when going this route. Both boys' tongues were tangling and it was a must to find a water stop. Hux Pup could have stayed in that spot all day. Sorry Boyzz time to go home. On the way back home, I had to play dentist with Sully. He found someone's old hairband in which he had to swallow. Not on my watch Sully!!🤪 I got to it before he completely swallowed it. The Doggy Business Report: 2 poops for each boy and duelling pees for each boy. Sometimes too close for comfort 🤦♀️ Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 3.7 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes There was lots of ball chasing, treat eating, and off-leash roaming going on during this morning’s walkabout with Jasper and Teddy. We made a much needed stop at the river where the boys splashed around and cooled off in the water. Jasper made sure to stand right beside me before shaking off. When we got back home, I gave the boys a treat in the backyard and dried them off. I let Jasper back inside afterwards. Great job today boys! The Scoop: 3 pees 1 poop (Jasper). Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.3 km DURATION: 1 hour 21 minutes In today's episode of Adventures with Sir Avi, we have stories of 'Follow the Leader', 'The Chase', and 'Treat Time is Now'. I left my friend in charge of the run route today. He knows where he wants to go; new sidewalks to explore, a new pathway here and a park over there. We came across 4 parks today, including one with a rock climb wall. I trusted his judgment in his turns and we always ended up somewhere familiar in the end and Avi would look at me as if to say 'See! I know where we are and where we're going'. Great job on that, buddy! The next chapter in our story is The Chase. The chase we saw was a cat running after two bunnies so Avi went full speed after the cat and I was lucky I didn't fall out of my shoes at that speed! It was sudden and thank goodness it didn't last long. We didn't catch the cat and we don't know if the cat caught the bunnies but I did learn how quick my short legs can turn over!! Our last part of the story involves treat time. Finally, Avi has a new way of telling me he is ready for a treat. He just stops. He looks up at me with those blue eyes, tongue out, and he turns into a rock. He won't budge. I ask if he wants a treat and sure enough, after I give him one he starts up again. It's pretty sweet how even though today he was completely in charge, he still found time and wanted to give me a kiss or two as we would wait for a light to change. What a character! It's a really good thing we went early today, too, because it go pretty hot by the time we were done. See you next week, buddy! The Scoop: 17 pees, no poops. Runner: Cheryl DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 12 minutes Today, I got to meet Conor for our first run together! He was a little bit unsure when I first arrived at the door, because strangers are scary! We started out on the path along the Glenmore Reservoir, and I could tell Conor knew the route. There were lots of dogs, bikers, and walkers out on the path today and Conor was so curious and distracted by all of them. Once we were past Heritage Park, Conor didn’t want to go much further so we turned around and went the other direction! He made me laugh a few times, because when he needed a rest he would go to the grass and lay on his back for a tummy rub. I loved watching Conor with his big brown eyes watching the world go by. I had to wonder, what thoughts are going through his mind right now!? Great start to the morning Conor! The Scoop: 1 poop, 1 pee. Runner: Kathleen DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 11K DURATION: 1 hour 39 minutes You always know you are going to get your sweat on when the pups' humans say “ Good Luck! “ before you leave.😳 I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.... I believe a did a bit of both at one point or another. These two crazy kids had ants in their pants today as we flew down the stairs into the promise land. Mira took it upon herself to lead the troops today so Nova and I just followed along enjoying this fantastic day. Although Doggy Logs had a delayed start for some reason and by the time I figured it out we were almost 20 minutes into our run. Par for the course lately.... welcome to my technical nightmare. Anyways, enough of my ranting! Mira, Nova and I had a fantastic run today! Thanks ladies you are always such a joy and make me live in the moment! 1 poo and many pees for Mira; 5 or so pees for Nova. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 4.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 2 minutes Jasper and I made our way to the dam on this lovely Tuesday morning. When we arrived, we were greeted by a honking goose that was standing on the concrete rail. Jasper and I crossed to the other side of the path to avoid any literal wild goose chase. On the way back home, the goose was still there in the same spot, honking away. I don’t think it was liking the looks Jasper was giving it, and it actually hissed at us as we passed by. When we got back home, I left Jasper with one of his big treats that he finished before I closed the gate behind me. Great job today Jasper! The Scoop: 3 pees, 0 poos (Jasper). Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.5 km DURATION: 1 hour Remember that glove plant we saw a few weeks ago? Looks like it adapted to the fence and is trying to climb it! 🤣 I didn't know that it grew like that. Leia and I had a wonderful run past the golf course today. There were plenty of bikers and other runners out; everyone wants to catch the sunny day! Leia behaved wonderfully when we passed other dogs. She stuck to my side like the wonderful girl she is 😁 The Scoop: 1 poop. Runner: Eve DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 3 minutes Murphy was so excited to see me this Tuesday, that he came barreling around the corner and had a sliding stop on the tiles! He had two massive pees; one was so big he couldn't wait and had to go on the concrete steps (what are you thinking bud?!). We did have a number of stopping breaks. It's a good thing we went earlier before it was too hot. I think I got lots of pictures for Tongues-Outn Tuesday. Haha. Thanks Murphy! The Scoop: 2 pee, 0 poop. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 10.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 22 minutes What a picture perfect day to have my dog Teddy join Ollie on his run. I thought I would go on autopilot and take them on what I have coined' "Ollie's Route" as i know it is our regular 10K. It is funny because Ollie usually does his business in the same spot every time we go on this route. I am glad I did this as there was signage close to Stampede Grounds that indicated there will once again be construction and detours on the pathway starting tomorrow. Well, let's just enjoy today. Our run included looking at geese, chasing squirrels and going for a quick dip in the river. Thanks boys! The Scoop: 1 poop and there was a peeing contest happening between Teddy and Ollie! Runner: Ruth DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 5.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 13 minutes It was an awesome run on a bright sunny day. All the snow on the weekend made way for green grass starting to appear. Lucy was excited and happy to be out and remained excited for today’s adventure. We took a slightly different route and she seemed to stop every time she was curious. We met no furry friends on this path but several people were out enjoining the sunny break after a winter-like weekend in the middle of spring. She chased after a stick and even took a ‘ sit break’ under the bridge. I think that was more for me to catch a breath as we were going fast and the warm sun was creating a sweat. We had both warmed up considerably by the time we got done. I was layering down and Lucy needed her water. The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poop. Runner: Muzna DGR RUN OF THE DAY ![]() DISTANCE: 6.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 21 minutes Hi Smarty Pants. I heard you went to school this weekend and did very well. Atta Girl! Reba jumped into the Jeep and she & Aoife were happy to be reunited. Off to a new Nosehill area. What an all-terrain route. Hills galore, on one of the descents, Aoife flew full speed down. Reba started out flying and then stopped halfway and laid in a ‘down’ position. She waited until I “slowly (like molasses) made it down. Thanks, Reba for waiting for me. Aoife, we will discuss leaving me behind, later!!🤣 The girls went for a swim and did stair work. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and a couple pees for Reba. Runner: Michelle |
