DGR RUN OF THE DAY #8 ![]() DISTANCE: 1.5 km DURATION: 40 minutes That’s right - I am back!. This afternoon was full of pep. I think the wind helped keep all of us cool. Sir Conor did the bottom step all on his own and then proceeded to find a soft patch to pee. Good Boy. Mocha & Java thought the treat in my pocket was fantastic - it was a ground bison and was to be for Conor, but not everything can be for him. Wink Wink. Mocha decided she wanted to do the hill on the green space and Java was game. All the dogs had lots of spunk. Conor peed all on his own today during our walk. He is growing up too fast. The girls have it totally figured out that in Michelle’s sanitization bag there will be a bag of treats. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop each for Java & Mocha. Conor had 2 pees as did Mocha. Java only had 1 pee. Runner: Michelle

DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.1 km DURATION: 1 hour 33 minutes Mona and Gracie changed their outfits from Tuesday’s athletic gear to Thursday’s party pants! Unbeknownst to me, there was a meeting, a look or at the last minute these two decided they were going to take it easy today and I just had to go along with it. And so I did....we just took it one step at a time and slowly but surely made our way to the river. Next stop, why the river of course! And so on and so forth. I’m pretty sure I was just there to keep these two poopers out of trouble and to make it back by curfew 🥳😜 Thanks for the party today Mona! I know Gracie (and me) always look forward to our visits! 1 poo and many pees today. Cheers! Runner: Tracy DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 13.5 km DURATION: 1 hour 10 minutes Today Ella and I decided to make the most of this pandemic thing, and we headed out to enjoy the streets that are not normally closed to pedestrians such as the lower deck on Centre Street Bridge and a couple blocks of Memorial Drive. Ella really likes the lower deck of the bridge - it’s cooler and there are always lots of birds flying around - but she wasn’t sure about running on Memorial! Were we even allowed? Where’s the cars? We then went across 10th Street Bridge which was new for us as well, and when we popped out the other side we saw that the Calgary River Surfers were out! I was definitely more excited about them than Ella was - she’s a pretty cool customer unless you’re a duck, rabbit, or floating leaf! At this point it was just lightly raining which was actually really refreshing since Ella and I get pretty hot on our runs. We headed back for a second loop of St. Patrick's Island where I made her run up and down the little hill (which she liked) and a small loop towards the Fish Hatchery (which she also liked!). I know she’s missing the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary out and back but until the distancing requirements are lifted, it’s just a little too tight! Sorry Ella! Hopefully all the river stops made up for it! Thanks for the great run! The Scoop: 1 pee and 1 poop. Runner: Laura DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 5 km DURATION: 1 hour 14 minutes REALLY!!! We get to start and finish our outing with a swim!?!. Michelle gained some big brownie points today with Marley & Huxley. 😊 I picked up Marley first so that she could surprise Huxley. Huxley was tickled pink as soon as he realized she was in the Jeep. He has his own version of ’The Happy Dance’🤪. At first, Huxley was telling Marley, ”I think we are going to the coulee?” Then I drove right by. What!! Then Huxley told Marley, ” Oh it has to be Baker Park’. Then I passed by the entrance. These two were getting so excited that they flew out of the Jeep. Marley was very energetic today and at times outran Huxley. Huxley may be burnt up some of his energy at the start doing the ’Happy Dance.’ The Doggy Business Report: many pees had by both pups. Marley - 1 poop. Huxley - 1 poop. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 3.6 km DURATION: 51 minutes After Huxley & Marley finished their outing (see Marley's blog), it was time to hit my house for H2o, snacks, and some backyard play-time. Who’s up for a quick run at Nosehill? Marley said, ” I will have another snack please and then a nap.” Huxley said,” I will go with Aoife🐾”. It was a tad windy so our pace was - keep it moving!!. How ya doing Huxley?? As his tongue is hanging out - ready for a snack and nap. 🤪 The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and a few pees for Huxley. Two very windblown pups and one tussled human. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE; 8.7 km DURATION: 1 hour It was a beautiful sunny morning; perfect conditions for a riverside run. Juno was showing great enthusiasm as we ran down through the Douglas Fir Trails, and as we crossed over the river. After we ran past where we usually would have turned around, she was a bit confused why I was still making us head further away from home. She tried to tell me it’s time to turn around as she slowed down and tried leading me back in the direction we came from. “I have a plan Juno, just trust me.” As we made our way along the path, we saw quite a few walkers, runners, bikers, and of course geese. Great job today Juno! The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 2.7 km DURATION: 46 minutes We went a bit longer today, I did not want to dampen Miss Pink's enthusiasm. She is one Social Butterfly. Miss Pink can not see why we are Social Distancing. Michelle, let me say ”hi” to that cat! Oh, there are doggies that I need to meet!! Hey, there are young humans over there - maybe they are mine? I keep getting Pinky’s looks saying ’let me go meet everyone’. Sorry Social Pink - I am hoping we can do this soon. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and 4 pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 1.1 km DURATION: 36 minutes What the difference a good night's sleep makes. Java, Mocha and Conor were all bright-eyed and perky to go for their walk. This time we gals had to wait on Conor to beat up on all the lawn signs that wiggled in the wind. Then at photo time - Conor picked up Java’s leash and was taking her for a walk. That was so much fun that he to take Mochas too!!! The Doggy Business Report: Mocha had 1 poop & 3 pees. Java had 1 pee and Conor had a pee on the step before leaving🤣. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #7 ![]() DISTANCE: 1.3 km DURATION: 40 minutes It is time for an afternoon stroll Porties. It took only one outing for Conor to have Michelle totally wrapped around his paws. When he decided that he wanted me to carry him - he laid flat out and gave me those eyes. Mocha & Java said,” Hey what about us?”. Well, they have had me wrapped around their paws even longer!! We had a nice little resty on the grass hill so Mocha could roll & roll. Java wanted to sit beside me and help me take photos. Conor sat on my leg - did not move - only to chew on my pant leg. A great afternoon just being together: The Doggy Business Report: Mocha had 1 poop and 3 pees. Miss Java had 1 pee AND Conor had a nice long pee too!!🐾 Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #6 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.1 km. DURATION: 59 minutes It was a good day today for Nell and me in terms of our run! I had to come a little bit later than usual for Nell today because I had yet another final exam. Once it was over, I knew that Nell would cheer me up when I saw her wagging tail. I am now done with school and I can’t wait to continue on with my runs with Nell - all the way through the summer! The Scoop: 1 pee. Runner: Alex DGR RUN OF THE DAY #5 ![]() DISTANCE: 7.2 km DURATION: 1 hour For the first 10 minutes, Kahlua didn’t really want to run or even walk. It was a little strange because she was excited to be outside, but she just didn’t want to be far from home or something. After she accepted that we’d be out for a while, she was fine and followed close behind me with a big smile on her face. Although it was cloudy today, it felt warmer than when Kahlua and I ran together on Monday. The brown/yellow grass is starting to show hints of green, but most trees still remain leafless. Good job today Kahlua! The Scoop: 2 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Ryan DGR RUN OF THE DAY #4 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.6 km. DURATION: 59 minutes It was such a nice morning for a run today! It was the hottest temperature that we've run in this year so everyone was extra tired at the end. Murphy snuck in a few berries along the way but didn't seem as obsessed with them today. Thanks Murph! The Scoop: 3 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Jessica DGR RUN OF THE DAY #3 ![]() DISTANCE: 1.2 km DURATION: 36 minutes Happy Wednesday Gang. I am not one that uses ’Sugar’ in my coffee. BUT this morning was full of ’Sugar’ in my coffee🥰. I took Mocha & Java (my morning coffee) and added one big heaping spoon full of Sugar.....Conor. Oh, I really enjoy my time with the girls but there is nothing like adding a puppy to the blend. The Doggy Business Report: Java had 1 & 1. Miss Mocha had 2 pees and 1 poop. Conor had too many things to explore, bathroom business not on his radar. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #2 ![]() DISTANCE: 2.5 km DURATION: 43 minutes Easy Breezy Pinky🐾. There is nothing like building a bond with a dog when you are one-on-one. Miss Pink, you are a real treat to walk. Today had the perfect mix of a soft breeze to keep us cool. Pink is so easy to walk and talk too. Something about her energy is just ’easy’. See you tomorrow around the same time for another ’special time’ together. The Doggy Business Report: 1 poop and 4 pees. Runner: Michelle DGR RUN OF THE DAY #1 ![]() DISTANCE: 8.8 km DURATION: 1 hour 6 minutes Rossi runs with smile on his dial! What a glorious morning for a run. Although it was a little cool to start, it warmed up to a perfect temperature. It is now hot enough to need multiple drink stops 😉. We headed down to the river first and traversed the river bank which was a great choice because it was quiet and Rossi could pop into the river for a drink anytime. Since it was an earlier run than usual, we rolled the dice and crossed the bridge to Edworthy Park hoping for less traffic. We were rewarded, at first. It was great to be back on the single trail and Rossi certainly enjoyed a bit of technical running. Occasionally he sped up to put me through my paces. In the second half of our run, we encountered a lot more people and dogs so we had to employ our human slalom tactics. Luckily, we're pretty good at this! We took the extended river trail on our way back in the hopes of avoiding the masses which worked pretty well and Rossi again received compliments on how "lovely" and "handsome" he is. It's nice to have more people appreciate what a great dog Rossi is instead of being terrified by him!! On the way back up to the house, Rossi again had plenty of energy for a wrestle which entertained a small family. He covered me in saliva 😋 He was certainly very happy to receive a treat and get back on the sofa when we returned home! The Scoop: 9 pees, 1 poo. Runner: Allison |
